Cant Get Rid Of Belly Bulge? Those words jump out when you go to the website of Relacore, claimed to be “Americas #1 Selling Belly Fat Pill.” It's claimed Relacore can “reduce stubborn stress-related belly fat.” Very impressive claims. So, does Relacore work? In this review, let's look at the ingrednts and research on Relacore and its ingredients. This review is on Relacore Extra, also called Maximum Strength. I'll also compare it to Relacore Ultimate Fat Burner troo. This review was created to help you cut through the hype and see if this supplement is right for you.
What Is Relacore?
Relacore is a weight loss product but but it's said to work differently than other supplements you've heard of. For example, they claim it will work specificlaly on belly fat. It's also stated on Relacore.com, the supplement is “designed to calm your stress, which reduces cortisol.” Research does indicate stress and elevated cortisol levels are linked to abdominal fat (belly fat).
So, in theory, if we could reduce cortisol, this might reduce belly fat. So, how does Relacore do this? As we will see below, the ingredients in the product are suppoosed to not only block cortisol but also ease stress and maybe alleviate depression.
Here's a video of the TV commercial which drives this message home:
Since cortisol goes up in times of stress and since cortisol can cause weigh gain and increase appetite, blocking cortisol may lead to weight loss – and maybe less bellly fat.
This is somewhat similar to another weight loss supplement called Relora.

Relacore Extra Other Ingredients
The Supplement Facts label also tells us these other ingredients are present also:
- Microcrystalline cellulose
- silica
- stearic acid
- croscarmellose sodium
- polyvinyl alcohol
- talc
- polyethylene glycol
- mica/titanium dioxide
- polysorbate 80
- FD&C Blue 1 Lake
- FD&C Yellow 5 Lake
- FD&C Red 40 Lake
These other ingredients make up the tablets and help the main ingredients mix well together. They don't play any roles in the benefits of Relacore Extra.
Relacore Extra Research
Clinical research on this supplement cannot be located. Neither the supplement's main website nor searching clinical databases reveal any studies on this product. This does not mean Relacore doesn't work. Rather, it means we need to look at its ingredients.
Let's do that next.
Relacore Extra Ingredients
I'm not convinced most people are lacking the vitamins in this supplement. Could some be “sub-clinical” deficient? Anything is possible but I doubt it. One vitamin however is worth mentioning -vitamin C.
Vitamin C
3 tablets of this supplement provide 1000 mg of vitamin C. Researchers in South Africa noticed a temporary drop cortisol levels in marathon runners who supplemented with 1500 mg of vitamin C for a week before they ran their race.
This cortisol lowering effect has also been seen in healthy people placed in stressful situations. In this investigation, 3000 mg of vitamin C was given to people 2 weeks before their stress event (public speaking) took place.
Vitamin C is often said to be a “stress vitamin.” Stress is said to deplete vitamin C levels. Since cortisol is a stress hormone, does this mean taking vitamin C can reduce cortisol levels? It’s an interesting idea but it doesn't seem to work. So far, research –what little is out there – finds vitamin C does not lower cortisol levels.
Relacore Extra Proprietary Blend
The proprietary blend used to be called “Relacortin” but this name seems to no longer be used. Three tablets of this supplement provide 240 mg of the proprietary blend.
While they do not tell us the actual amounts in the blend, we know the first ingredient (passion flower) makes up the most while the last ingredient in the blend (Phosphatidylserine) makes up the least.
Lets look at the ingredients in the blend.
Passion Flower
Passion flower (Passiflora incarnata) has several lines of evidence touting its effects to reduce anxiety issues. Because passionflower is the first ingredient listed in the proprietary blend, I believe it is one of the key ingredients in Relacore. One thing to know about passion flower is it does not work instantly. It appears to take 1-2 months before it takes effect.
Magnolia
The extract of magnolia (Magnolia biondii) used in the supplement comes from the bark of the tree. That's good because the bark seems to be where many of the active ingredients are located. Some research has shown a combination of magnolia and phellodendron amurense are effective for weight loss. Here's a quick summary of those studies
- Researchers in 2006 conducted a study that showed women who took 750 mg of the magnolia / Phellodendron combination for 6 weeks lost weight.
- Researchers have also shown less cortisol and better mental outlook when they gave Magnolia and Phellodendron to women and men for 4 weeks.
It's worthwhile to note both these studies used a supplement called Relora. Both studies were also supported by the company which makes Relora too.
Here is a video when Relora was featured on the Dr. Oz Show. Relora is mentioned 11 minutes into this video:
See the Relora review for much more information.
Chinese Skullcap
The scientific name for this herb is Scutellaria baicalensis. Like magnolia and passionflower, Chinese skullcap may also have some anti-anxiety effects. Because of the lack of human weight loss/anxiety studies, I'd like to see more research.
I also saw one of Jillian Michaels's weight loss supplements containing Chinese skullcap too so check that review for more information.
Niacinamide
Niacinamide is another name for the vitamin, niacin. The effects of niacinamide on belly fat and cortisol levels needs more research. Niacinamide is sometimes used to help arthritis. Since overweight people may have arthritis, is it possible this is the reason Relacore contains this ingredient?
In other words, people who are in less pain may be able to do more stuff – and feel better as a result of their greater mobility? Obviously, I‘m speculating but this makes some sense to me.
Niacinamide has become a very popular anti-aging supplement. In supplements, it's referred to as Niagen and Niacel. For more insights see these reviews:
Asian Ginseng
This is also called panax ginseng. I can’t find any good proof Asian ginseng helps reduce belly fat. As for lowering cortisol levels, one study showed it did not work.
Poria
Poria refers to poria mushrooms. It's scientific name is Sclerotium cocus. Mushrooms have many bioactive compounds. Evidence for poria lowering cortisol cannot be located. There is a lack of proof for belly fat loss too.
Poria mushrooms are different from Reishi mushrooms which have been very popular in supplements. See the Reishi mushroom review for much more info.
Jujube
Jujube -also called Ziziphus jujuba – refers to a tree which grows in different part of the world such as the US and Australia. No evidence for jujube reducing cortisol or helping weight loss or belly fat loss can be located.
Perilla
Perilla, also called Perilla frutescens is a flower that belongs to the mint family of plants. Researchers in Japan have noted the leaves of the plant have anti-anxiety effects. Lab rat research has noted perilla reduces fat cell growth. I think we need more human studies on perilla to better understand how effective it is.
Phosphatidylserine
We make phosphatidylserine. It's a part of our cells and takes part in how our cells talk to each other. There is not much phosphatidylserine in Relacore Extra because it's the last ingredient listed in the proprietary blend. Phosphatidylserine has been studied to see if it helps people with dementia.
Other researchers have noted a combination of omega 3 fats and phosphatidylserine helped depression in older adults.
Relacore Extra Active Ingredients
This supplement has many ingredients. I speculate if Relacore Extra works – lowers cortisol levels -then it the effect may be due mostly to these ingrdients
- vitamin C
- passion flower
- magnolia (and Phellodendron)
Recall from above magnolia and Phellodendron is found in another supplement called Relora. Of course, it's possible I am wrong and all the ingredients work in tandom together to produce a better effect.

Relacore Extra vs. Relacore Ultimate
Relacore Ultimate-also called Relacore Fat Burner – is another version of this supplement. How are these supplements different from each other? Here is a side-by-side comparison of each to help you decide:
Relacore Extra (3 tablets) | Relacore Fat Burner (2 capsules) |
Vitamin C 1000mg | Proprietary Blend 964 mg consisting of the following: |
Vitamin B1 (thiamine) 15 mg | Citrus (fruit) Extract |
Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) 15mg | Coffee (bean) Extract |
Niacin 50mg | Guaraná (fruit) Extract |
Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) 10 mg | Cola (seed) Extract |
Folate 400 mcg | Green Tea (leaf) Extract |
Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin) 10 mcg | Kelp (Ascophyllum nodosum) (whole plant) Powder |
Biotin 150 mcg | Fennel (seed) Powder |
Pantothenic acid 23 mg | Alpha-lipoic acid |
Calcium 33mg | |
Magnesium 100mg | |
Zinc 10mg | |
Proprietary Blend. 240 mg Blend of:
Passionflower (aerial parts) powder
Magnolia (bark) powder
Chinese skullcap extract (root)
Asian Ginseng (root) extract
Poria extract (sclerotium)
Jujube (Ziziphus jujuba) (fruit) Extract
Perilla extract (leaf)
Phosphatidylserine |
So what's the difference? As I see it, the big difference between these is Relacore Fat Burner contains stimulants and -if I can inject my opinion here – trendy /untested weight loss ingredients. While they don't specifically tell us I believe the following:
- Citrus fruit extract probably refers to citrus Aurantium also known as bitter orange. It's a stimulant similar to ephedra.
- Coffee bean extract probably refers to green coffee bean. Green coffee bean needs better studies to know if it works. See the review of green coffee for more info.
- Kelp. Kelp contains iodine. Iodine helps us make thyroid hormone. Kelp may be used in supplements in an attempt to boost thyroid hormone and reverse hypothyroidism. It's debatable if it does this or not. See the black seed and thyroid review for more on this topic.
The ingredients tell us Relacore Ultimate Fat Burner is supposed to work differently. It's a fat burner supplement not a cortisol /anti-anxiety supplement. Do both supplements work better together? This is unknown. For those with heart and blood pressure problems, speak to your doctor before using stimulant containing supplements.
Does Relacore Help Depression?
If you read the comments you will see several people saying Relacore improved their mood, helping them feel better. While Relacore itself appears to have no depression research, some of its ingredients such as passionflower and Chinese skullcap do.
Might Passionflower and Chinese Skullcap be the anti-depression ingredients in Relacore? It's hard to say but, my guess is they may be.
Is Relacore: Anti-Aging?
On Relacore.com there is a page called Anti-Aging Phenomenon? This page of tries to link excess stress with heart disease, shorter telomeres and faster cellular aging. Too much stress is very harmful to or health. This is true. But without clinical proof, it's hard to know for sure if Relacore -itself- slows aging.
At the bottom of the page, they do list research to support the Relacore-anti-aging relationship:
- Research links stress to biological aging for the first time (this does not seem to be a study but a reference to something put out by the American Federation on Aging. I could not locate it).
It's worth noting none of this refers specifically to Relacore. Rather, the research only says stress can age us.
So, does Relacore reduce heart disease, lengthen telomeres or slow aging?
There is no proof either way.
Relacore Side Effects
In healthy people, I think Relacore is probably safe. I don't think most people would have any side effects. That said, here are a few things to consider. This list is not complete:
- Start with less than is recommended for the first week. this is to see how you respond
- Don't take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Stop taking all supplements -unless your doctor tells you otherwise – at least 2 weeks before having surgery
- Speak to your doctor/pharmacist if you take blood thinner medications.
- Speak to your doctor and pharmacist first if you take any medications
In theory, passionflower and magnolia may interact with sleep aids or medications/ supplements for depression.
Skullcap may interfere with supplements /meds which induce sleep. There may be an interaction with depression meds also.
Relacore has a lot of biotin. Tell your doctor you take biotin before having blood tests. Biotin supplements might interfere with some laboratory blood tests.
Doctors have reported the case of an overweight, 47-year-old woman who complained of dizziness, confusion and weakness. She had previously lost 30 pounds and was using several supplements. Relacore Extra Strength is mentioned but it's hard to pin down what the cause was due to all the supplements she was taking. She was also dehydrated as well.
In the comments below, several people have said Relacore helped them. For those who want to just try what may be its active ingredients, taking a look at just passionflower may be another option. Relora, another supplement may also be an option for those who prefer supplements with research.
Does Relacore Work?
Without proof – clinical studies – it's difficult to say although people below have said it helped them feel better. The good news is some of the ingredients in Relacore do have research showing they may lower cortisol and anxiety levels. Whether this leads to belly fat loss or weight loss though, is another thing. Hopefully, this Relacore review has helped you better understand if this supplement is right for you.
Any Comments or Questions?

Dangerous Side Effects:
After just 4 days of starting to take 2 Relacore pills a day I landed in the ER with blood pressure of 199/102. Since then my blood pressure fluctuates drastically.
Important to note that I had never had a blood pressure problem. It was always 120/80. The mess all started with Relacore.
It started with feeling spaced out, and I started to get some mild head ache. An upset stomach and gas. This was all very unusual as I was perfectly healthy. by the 4th day it occured to me to read up on the side effects of Relacore. I came across high blood pressure as being a side effect. Since you can’t feel high blood pressure per say, I tested my blood pressure and it was at 199/102. I couldn’t believe it. The ER confirmed that is was that high.
So stay away from Relacore is my advice. Just eat extremely healthy and low calorie and work out a bit. No pills. No B.S.
Joe says
Hi Dulce, so sorry to hear that happened to you! I hope you are doing ok now.
Tiffany says
Which pills did you take? There are two formulations, one is a fat burner and one is the pills that are supposed to help with relaxing/anxiety.
Unfortunately if it were as easy as eat low calorie no one would be fat. The difficulty is when our brain tells us to eat, it’s pretty much like when it’s telling us to pee – you can only ignore it so long…
Joan Wolfe says
cautionary tale: i have not taken this product, but for several years I took a product with similar amounts of B vitamins. In 2001, after a trip wherein I walked about 10 miles a day (not too much of a stretch for me), I developed tingling and numbness in my feet (medical term is peripheral neuropathy).
I ignored it as much as possible and told myself that if it hit me up any farther on my body, I would go to the doctor (and I’m married to a doctor). Before long, I developed similar symptoms in both hands. Off to the Neurologist I went (referred by my Orthopedist as I had assumed a problem with my persistent arthritis).
One blood test later (a nutritional assay), it was revealed that I had toxic levels of Vit B 6 (which is normally excreted in urine (peed out) as B vits are water soluble (as opposed to fat soluble) so not retained typically to rise to toxic levels and difficult for many people to retain levels of B12, for instance, to manage mood.
The multi vitamine I took (one without iron which I do not tolerate) contained about 800% of RDA of Vit B 6. So, no more B6 for me and the neuropathy went away completely.
Moral: Think long and hard before taking HUNDREDS of times more % of anything every day. I do take more than the RDA of Vit C but that’s it. No more B vits of any kind in pill form for me.
Thanks for your site.
Joe says
Hi Joan, thank you for sharing what happened to you. I know your words are helping others.

I’ve taken Realacore over the last 5 years, I take only one pill, of the recommended dosage, daily. Mine has become a person study of my mood only. If I run out I don’t take, I even forget to take over a course of a week, however, others, that are not even aware of what I take daily, have commented on either the difference of my patience level, or my reaction to stressful situations….
Then it dawns on me that I haven’t taken Realacore, when I do this is noticed by my peers as well. I don’t know if this means that it works for all others or not, but I do know that my stomach is probably the only area that is still flat even if I don’t work out.
Maybe it’s genetics, who knows, but taking Realacore hasn’t hurt me and it’s less expensive than purchasing all the supplements separately. I don’t believe in miracle cures for my poor eating habits or my laziness in moving, to lose weight, but this seems to keep me level.
I do think it very wise that you researched the product so that you take a proactive approach as to what you consume, unfortunately we are all different in our internal makeup therefore what works for one will not, sad to say, work for all.
Anisha says
Joe, I started taking the relacore extra and like clockwork have had diarrhea last night and tonight around midnight or so. I’m sure it has to do with the relaxers. However, in the past I have had severe diarrhea issue.
My parents are doctors and never take me seriously when I say things and just assumed my diarrhea had to with me being lactose intolerant. It started happening whenever I came home from Omaha to Las Vegas Nevada during college. Every time I was home during the week long breaks or summers I would have diarrhea everyday.
Once I graduated and moved home it finally stabilized after about 6 months later. Now I’ve been experiencing it because of the relacore but I’m kind of ok with it because I didn’t stop having diarrhea issues until up to 6 months ago which is when I started to know I was gaining weight.
I gained 15 lbs since then. I know it’s bad but does it help you lose weight if you get sick like that? Like I said my parents are doctors and only really treat me if I have fevers or infections, basically if I’m visibly sick.
As far as the relacore experience in general, the first night I took just two and felt incredible and worked out so hard at the gym. Since I’ve gone to the gym twice and worked out a regular amount. I just want to go back to having thinner thighs and a thinner stomach.
If the relacore doesn’t help that, what do you suggest? I eat the same as I always have (almost better since I’m home from college) and workout more than I have in a long time since I moved back from college.
Joe says
Hi Anisha, well, diarrhea isn’t a good side effect to deal with so if it keeps up I say dont keep taking it. Here is a link to my personal website where I discuss some products that have evidence for weight loss.http://www.joe-cannon.com/what-weight-loss-supplements-work/
LISA L. BLEVINS says
in response to Anisha…
Regretfully, your consistent response to going home to visit while in college being diarrhea… could be attributed to extra stress due to “being home”.
Although family and old friends could mean well, they can whittle away at self confidence and the comfort zone that can be developed when being on your own.
Just a suggestion, if possible, take a vacation, visit a college friend or just go somewhere beautiful…where you know no one. I think during this time you will find you are diarrhea free. Unless you binge on ice cream…then at least the diarrhea has an obvious cause.
As far as weight loss…I think the weight will drop when you are in a better state of mind. Out of close proximity to those who disturb confidence and self worth.
With all that being said…I have found that living at least a two hour drive away from “home” does the trick.
Best wishes.

Hi there.
I just thought I would put my two cents in. I am not a doc, nor do i have a chemistry degree. I have, however, used Relacore a couple of times in my life with great success. The first time was about nine years ago.
I was 5’2,350lbs in in my early thirties. I tried it out of curiosity with a goodly dose of skepticism. I wanted to see if this “magic” pill did any thing so I decided the only change I would make would be taking the pill.i would take it with water, but that was it. I really didn’t expect anything to happen. After a couple of weeks(?) I found I was craving salad the way I would crave chocolate. I wanted to drink water instead of soda.
My mood lifted and I had more energy. The weight really did seem to disappear from my belly. I was more flexible. It started to come off my arms too. I didn’t get skinny, but I dropped multiple sizes in some time between six months to a year, I don’t remember quite how long.
Oh by the way, I only took half the dose, the full dose left me too wired. I have also tried all the various types, for the purpose of this, I mostly refer to the basic Relacore, but I have tried the P.M. Version, and the Extra version. All worked for me.
Bad things happened in our lives, catastrophically bad things. The Relacore couldn’t handle my levels of stress and I couldn’t afford the Relacore.
Years later I have tried it again. They have changed the formula, I can get by with taking less pills than it suggests. It recommends 6(?) I take two. That is enough that I have gotten the benefits from it. It is out of my current price range right now, but I have found it very worth it.
I know it doesn’t work for everyone. My godmother found it left her too buzzed and jittery.
I suspect that part of what makes it work is the anti-anxiety herbs. Also the chemical interactions between the ingredients themselves probably play a role. As any kid can tell you, baking soda and vinegar don’t do much on their own but combine them, and you get a volcano!
My final thoughts. As I have said before, I am not a medical professional. If you can afford it, try it out. Be careful and smart. Test out the single pill to see it you have a poor reaction to it, if you do stop. Everyone’s body chemistry is different, what worked for me may not work for you. But if it does, it might be worth it.
Joe says
criseastman, thanks for sharing and I’m really glad Relacore helped you.
Bruce B. NATUROPATH says
I have not used this formula, nor seen your site before. I find it humorous that you have been looking up the individual ingredients to see if they cause weight loss. I don’t know if this product works or not.
However, as a naturopath, I do know if they work, they help the individual deal with life’s stressors. If you deal better with stress, you may eat and produce less cortisol, which could lead to weight loss.
Joe says
Bruce, thanks for sharing. Since one of the reasons people over eat is excess stress, I can agree that anything that reduces stress (disstress as opposed to eustress) might help overeating and excess weight gain. As for looking at ingredients, when I see a lack of research (peer reviewed) on a product, I’m forced to look at their individual ingredients.
Mark - Health and Fitness says
Would it make more sense to relieve the stress causes in your life rather than take a med to do so? You are ingesting a lot of other ingredients to make you feel good…why not try another method, like not taking life so serious (if stress is the problem).
Cortisol is a naturally produced hormone that rises and falls on a circadian rhythm. Why mess with your body like that? I know what the relacore box says. but they are trying to sell you something with ingredients you can find yourself and do the same job without the added “goodies”.
just a thought.
I am a 58 year old male and always wonder about belly fat – yes i have a little, but i maintain diet and exercise to help. Not going to be flat belly like in my twenties, but then I don’t want it.
Lori says
I Agree however, we do not live in a perfect world and cannot always change things around us or help how we deal with things. So as a general statement, you are correct, but no one has the same stresses in life and can make that blanket statement for the whole population.
Mel says
I would just like to say that in my opinion, as someone who has gone both the natural route and pharmaceutical route for anxiety and stress, that I now take many of the supplements included in the ingredients for adrenal fatigue caused by continuous stress and hypothyroidism with much success for my mood and in turn my weight.
They treat underlying conditions instead of just the symptoms. I would like to make a suggestion to the helpful gentleman who wrote this article, that he consider changing the title of ‘Relacore Side Effects’ to ‘Relacore Drug Interactions’ or at least separating them into two separate categories. Mainly because most “side effects” listed are only if taken with pharmaceutical drugs.
I think everyone would agree that side effects are rare for natural supplements in and of themselves at correct dosages. After all, we get most of them from our foods but not always enough based on our diets or emotional and environmental stressors.
As for the lady who is underweight, in all my research, I haven’t seen any of these ingredients listed as a contraindication but she should fully research each one as it applies to her condition.
One of the main symptoms of hyperthyroidism is weight loss and stress/anxiety. It sounds like it is helping, in part, with the latter. If it were me, I would look into a natural thyroid medication which works on the entire thyroid not just the T4 which she should understand. It’s a common problem in the thyroid world.
Thank you for the article on the ingredients, it was very helpful in my quest for an all-in-one supplement. My apologies for the length.
Joe says
Mel, you are very welcome and no worries about the length. I appreciate well thought out comments like yours. I will consider what you said about the side effects part of my title for this review also 🙂
Nevin Kuday says
Not only doesn’t work at all; they don’t give your money back even though there is money back money back guarantee on their web site ! SCAM !

Nevin, did you buy it from their website or somewhere else (amazon a local store etc)?
Kathleen Durheim says
Hello everyone. I have been taking the Relacore for about 9 months now. I have had weight loss, improved mood and more energy. I have Fibromyalgia, psoriatic arthritis, and spondylosis in my spine. I usually have a great deal of pain from these issues, but, I find that the minimizing of pain is noticeable with the Relacore.
I was, initially, only taking the Relacore. I happened upon an ad that suggested pill stacking to optimize weight loss goals. I am skeptical about this type of thing, as I have a medical degree career background. I did some research and consultation with my doctor and pharmacist; They responded with a “give it a try” attitude. I must say, I have been doing great and seeing results.
My mood is good, as long as I take the Relacore. I know that all of the Rx medications I take are not adversely effected and my doctor feels comfortable with my situation. The advise to check with a doctor and/ or pharmacist is good advise, as every person responds differently with medications and supplements.
As for the colon cleanse issue, the reason for this is due to needed flushing out of the fat that has been placed into our intestines as the Relacore does its job. ( Yes that is why it is part of the ingredient list is for stool softening).
I am stacking Relacore Extra with Zantrex- 3. The combination works well for me. No hair loss. I was losing hair prior to taking these as a symptom of Fibromyalgia. No hair loss at this time.!!!!!
I do notice my mood decline and my German temperment comes out when I run out of the Relacore. I just make sure I get my supply as soon as possible so as to get back my happy…… Rite Aid seems to only order one bottle at a time. That is so silly when so many people are waiting to purchase it. Well, I just wanted to let everyone know my results and experience so far.
Joe says
Kathleen, glad Relacore is working for you. I saw you said you were also taking Zantrex 3. Here is my Zantrex 3 review in case you missed it.
Serena says
I’m neither pro or anti Relacore, as I’ve never tried it myself. I’ve heard positive & negative things as you do with most weight loss OTC formulas. Several friends have told me that it worked well for them so I was thinking about trying it.
I’m Type 2 Diabetic, taking Metformin & also on Lisinopril. I’m more concerned about not messing up the delicate balance of these two drugs than anything else. The caffeine in Relacore concerns me as some of the reactions that people are reporting could be caused by too much especially if they are also taking in caffeine in other forms.
For those who are constantly under stress, if I were a doctor I would suggest checking out SAM-e . Since I am not a licensed physician, I will just say that I thoroughly researched before I began taking SAM-e on a regular basis.
I am a different person than I was before I started keeping it in my system. SAM-e has verified & proven antidepressant effects & is something that the human body actually NEEDS more of as we age. It has allowed me to deal with my high-pressure job as well as losing both of my parents within six months of each other.
I had heard about it many years ago & I am so glad that I remembered SAM-e when I began to fold under all of life’s blows which I was dealing with.
Sorry for the off-topic endorsement, but in the comments, I noticed many that might really benefit from it! If you haven’t perhaps you could set up a review of SAM-e. Good luck with the Relacore. 🙂

Serena, I did cover SAMe in my book on supplements and I will likely review it here as well either as a stand alone review or as parts of other things I cover. There is some research on SAMe it as you say. Im glad it is helping you. Very sorry also to hear about the loss of your parents. I lost both my parents in less than 3 months of each other, so I am very familiar with the stress you have been going through. I will say a prayer for you tonight.
Serena says
Hi Joe,
I am so sorry to hear that you also lost your parents. As they say, one day at a time. Thank you so much for the kind words & prayers. It has been a while since I lost my parents, so I guess the initial shock has worn off, but I miss them & think of them every day. This week I had to put my sweet 14 year old min pin, Amber to sleep. Wonder why we are all stressed, huh? Take care!
Joe says
Serena, its been a while for me too. I don’t think we ever truly get over something like that. We Take them with us where we go. Sorry also to hear about your min pin. You take care too!

Sharon king : I am 204 pounds. I have belly fat. I am disgusted about my weight. My daughter gave me relacore to take. I have been trying it for a few days now. Along with exercise and dieting, I am losing weight. I am trying a fruit diet, small amount of protein, I am drinking a lot of water. I love the colon cleansing effect it has. I will keep you’ll posted on the results.
P.S. can I get relacore at CVS? or Rite-Aid?
Joe says
Sharon, yes you should be able to get Relacore at CVS and Rite Aid. Keep me posted on how it’s working for you.

I am 46 years old , 5ft 8 in tall and 173 lbs. Most of my weight is belly fat and I have mild anxiety. I took Relicore for the first time today and I took 1 pill after I ate breakfast about 2 hours later I felt my body heat up starting from my feet and felt slightly sweaty and my heart started beating rapidly. This continued for a couple of hours and it really scared me.
I emailed my doctor to see if I could take this , I am still waiting for her reply. I have Never taken diet pills, is this just something my body has to get used to? it it normal ? Do I stop taking it, I am not sure if this is normal. Any input would be terrific. Thank you.
Joe says
Yvonne, having those side effects would alarm me also. I looked through the comments and in January, Ellen reported having heart palpitations (read her comment she says a lot). I’m not sure what ingredient is causing the effects you experienced but based on what you said, I would not take Relacore anymore. I hope you are feeling better now. If you get any new info from your doctor, do let me know.
Yvonne says
Thank you Joe, I will do that for sure. I am not on any medications , I don’t drink caffinated drinks and i really limit my sugar intake so I was surprised by the reaction I got since I had not read that on any reviews I had seen. Thanks again and I will let you know what my doctor says 🙂

Deborah Metcalf says
I started taking Relacore since February, and in the past 6 weeks I’ve had 4 periods. It just occurred to me that maybe there is a connection. So I googled if Relacore could affect your period, and on one site it said it could cause irregular periods.
It also said, “may cause high blood pressure”, which I have been experiencing the past couple of months. I am going to be 45 next month, so I thought at first that maybe I was going through menopause, but thought it was odd that these symptoms started around the same time as starting Relacore, so that’s why I decide to look it up.
Needless to say, I will not be taking any more of the Relacore pills, just to be on the safe side. And, I made an appointment with my doctor for a complete physical.
Joe says
Deborah, thanks for sharing and I think its appropriate you get a physical too.
diaan says
hello, im from the Netherlands and i ordered on relacore.com but havent received anything. Could you tell me where you bought yours? still hoping to receive something
Joe says
Hi Diaan, I’m not Relacore.com so if you ordered it from their website they are the people to contact. you probably saw my Relacore review and emailed me by mistake. I went to their website and here is the contact page you can use to email them:
http://www.relacore.com/contacts
I hope this helps Diaan and let me know if it works for you.
Marcia Thompson says
I am a 56 year old woman. A few weeks after starting relacore I started to have spotting of blood. I have not had my period in 3 years. I am concerned and stopped taking the drug. Please give me some insight as to why this side affect happened.
Joe says
Marcia, I wish I had an idea of why you experienced spotting of blood. May I recommend you make an appointment with your doctor. Bring the supplement with you so she/he can see the ingredients. That might help shed some light on whether they were related or not. Let me know what happens.
Jennifer Wilson says
Wow, thanks so much for the carefully dissected research results you freely shared, regarding this enigmatic medication. You definitely put some things into perspective for me! Excellent work!
Joe says
Jennifer, you are very welcome and I thank you for your kind words. I truly appreciate you saying that.

And I appreciate you saving me from purchasing something that isn’t exactly as promising as I had thought, initially. Thanks again, Joe. 🙂

Jennifer, happy to be of service 🙂

I am grateful for your detailed and easy explanations of the total ingredients. Thank you for taking your thoughtful time to share this amazing amount of information. I can trust in your words. I don’t trust in their words.
Joe says
Lovato, you are very welcome and I am happy you found my words helpful.
Iris says
Hello, My name is Iris. I have just recently purchased Relacore Pm. hoping that this will work to help reduce belly fat. I am using exercise and reduction of foods intake. I have once tried the women’s Vita pak from GNC which did help me to loose 15lbs. But this time trying it didn’t work for me so far.
So I am hoping that the Relacore aided with the Vita pak & exercise will do the job. Just starting so I will let you know of the results. Thank you all for your comments and experience with questions it has helped me in deciding. As Joe suggest I will start out with a low dosage then increase.
Joe says
Iris, much success and I’ll look forward to hearing how things go for you.
