Update 7/9/22. Joyome by Plexus Slim contains “Eleven active ingredients, plus a patent-pending Microbiome Balancing Complex” which “work together to reduce the visible signs of aging and bring you revitalized, radiant skin.” This is the first skincare cream by supplement giant, Plexus Worldwide, creators of Plexus Slim. This review will be on the key ingredients in Joyome to help women -and men- understand how it works it better and highlight what I believe is its active ingredient. What can Joyome do for you? Let's look at the ingredients and evidence and find out.

1 Plexus Joyome Day Serum Research
Clinical studies on Joyome specifically cannot be located. Neither the Plexus website or clinical databases reveal any research on the product itself.
But, this doesn't mean the anti-wrinkle cream doesn't work. Rather, it means we have to look at its ingredients. Let's do that next.
2 Joyome Day Serum Ingredients
From the Joyome label, we see there are 54 ingredients in the Day Serum. Here are all of them in order as they appear on the label:
Water | Glycerin | Glyceryl stearate SE |
Dimethicone | Squalane | Niacinamide |
Isosorbide dicaprylate | Magnolia flower water | Isopentyldiol |
Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate | Behenyl alcohol | Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 |
Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5 | Hyaluronic acid | Glycosphingolipids |
Glycolipids | Sodium Hyaluronate | Silanetriol |
Chicory root oligosaccharides | Magnesium carboxymethyl beta-glucan | Haematococcus pluvialis extract |
Cranberry fruit extract | Anthemis nobilis flower oil | Jasmine oil |
Lavender oil | Origanum majorana leaf oil | sandalwood oil |
Vanilla extract | Cananga odorata flower oil | Blackberry seed oil |
Clover flower extract | castor seed oil | Panthenol |
Bisabolol | Caprylic/capric triglyceride | Tocopheryl acetate |
Dimethiconol | Lysolecithin | Hydrogenated castor oil |
Sclerotium gum | Xanthin gum | Pullulan |
Silica | Polylactic acid | Bismuth oxychloride |
Ethylhexyl Hydroxystearate | Citric acid | Sodium phytate |
3,4-Dihydroxybenzoic acid | Ethoxydiglycol | Butylene glycol |
Phenoxyethanol | Ethoxydiglycol | Ethoxydiglycol |
Read from left to right. This will tell you the ingredients in order from most to least. For example, since water is first on the list, it's the most plentiful in the Intensive Day Serum.
Take notice of the ingredients in bold. These are the key ingredients. Why do I say this? Because these ingredients are specially mentioned on the Plexus website. While the Plexus website says there are “11 active ingredients” this is true when you use both the Intensive Day Serum and the Joyome intensive overnight serum together.
This review is on the 6 key ingredients in Joyome Day Serum.
Let's now look at the anti-wrinkle proof on each of the 6 key ingredients in the Day Serum.
Niacinamide
This is another name for the vitamin, niacin (vitamin B3). Studies suggest niacinamide can improve the appearance of skin when applied topically. It shrinks pores, improving skin tightness. For example, In one study by Proctor and Gamble, when 50 women applied a 5% solution of niacinamide to half of their face twice a day for 12 weeks, researchers saw a noticeable improvement in the treated face such as reductions in fine lines and wrinkles and red blotchiness.
Have you heard of the anti-aging supplements Elysium Basis and Niacel? They are very popular anti-aging supplements based on niacin. They contain a niacin compound called nicotinamide riboside.
See those reviews for more information on those supplements.
Argireline Peptide
It's also called Argireline. On the ingredients list above, it's called Acetyl Hexapeptide-8. By whatever name you call it by, Argireline is essentially a botox cream. I'm not simplifying it – that is how it's described in the studies. Argireline works essentially the same way as botox, except its 4000 times less potent than botox.
Studies of Argireline have noted it can temporarily improve fine lines and wrinkles. In one investigation, a 10% solution of Argireline applied to the skin, improved wrinkle depth (how far wrinkles penetrate the skin) by 30%. Researchers in China noted an almost 49% improvement in wrinkles after 1 month of use.
Argireline has been a key ingredient in other anti-wrinkle creams too such as:
- Principal Secret Reclaim (click to read review)
- Hydroxatone (click to read review)
Argireline can also be purchased by itself too:

Eyeseryl Peptide
In the ingredients section above, this is listed as Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5. It's a product by a company called Lypotec (Lypotec.com), the same company which makes Argireline. Interestingly the owner of Eyeseryl US patent is Beach Body LLC, makers of the famous Shakeology weight loss shake and countless exercise videos.
Eyeseryl is an ingredient designed to reduce puffy eyes. It works as a humectant, which means it holds water. By increasing the hydration of skin, it should plump up the skin, temporarily reducing wrinkles, and puffy eyes. Interestingly though, clinical studies on the effectiveness of eyeseryl cannot be located.
Hyaluronic Acid
While it's found in many places in the body, this stuff is often used in arthritis supplements because it can act as a cushion between bones. Some cosmetic surgery procedures may use hyaluronic acid too. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant, so it can lock in water. This is why it's found in many different cosmetics. There is research on this too.
A study by German researchers has found a 0.1% hyaluronic acid cream improved skin elasticity and hydration after 60 days of use.
Researchers in Japan have noted 120 mg per day of an oral hyaluronic acid supplement (called Hyabest) reduced wrinkles more than placebo after 12 weeks of use. The study was funded by the makers of the supplement (Kewpie corporation).
Glycosphingolipids
Most know it better as Ceramide. Ceramide is derived from a Latin meaning “wax.” The plexus website says these compounds “Reduce the appearance of wrinkles.” Ceramides are a group of fatty acid molecules found naturally in cells. They perform a variety of actions ranging from hormone release to helping keep cells intact.
When respect to the skin, ceramides form part of the epidermis and also act as a waterproof layer to prevent fluid loss. In this way, they are also humectants, like hyaluronic acid and eyeseryl peptide described above. The loss of ceramides in the skin can contribute to dry skin, which in turn can lead to wrinkles. Halo Beauty, a popular hair, skin, and nails supplement by YouTube sensation, Tati Westbrook also contains ceramides.
See the Halo Beauty review for more insights.
Clover Flower Extract
Red clover (Trifolium pratense) is a rich source of hormone-like plant nutrients called isoflavones. While the Plexus website says “Red Clover minimizes the appearance of pores by reducing oil accumulation and pore debris.” they don't tell us what extract of red clover they are using. To be fair, I see this a lot when it comes to extracts.
Red clover appears to have a place in skin protection creams. There is evidence red clover may protect the skin from inflammation caused by UV radiation. Lab animal evidence hints red clover might help reduce skin changes during menopause.
Plexus Joyome Video Review
3 Plexus Joyome Key Ingredients
Joyome Day Serum contains a LOT of ingredients (54 to be exact). Of the 6 key ingredients highlighted on the Plexus website and reviewed here, I believe the main active ingredients are:
- Argireline
- Hyaluronic acid
- Niacinamide
- Ceramide
I've ranked these ingredients in order of what I believe is most important. This order is different than how they are listed on the Joyome ingredients list. I provide this info for those who might want to make their own anti-wrinkle cream. This is my opinion and is based on the research I looked at when I prepared this Joyome review. Take it for what it's worth.
4 Buy Plexus Joyome
Like all Plexus products, Joyome Illuminating Day Serum is not sold in local stores like Costco, Target, Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid or Kohles. It can only be purchased through a Plexus Ambassador or via the Plexus World Wide website.
5 Plexus Joyome Price
To purchase Joyome Illuminating Day Serum, the cost is $80 for a one time purchase. The price is $68 if you opt for a subscription and receive the product on a regular basis.
The cost of the Plexus Intensive Overnight Repair Cream is $85 for a one-time purchase and $72.25 if you decide to receive regular shipments.
6 The 11 Active Ingredients
There are 11 active ingredients if you use both the Day Serum and Overnight Repair Cream. The Day Serum contains 6 of the 11 key ingredients.
7 The Microbiome Balancing Complex
The Plexus website rightly mentions the bacteria on our skin – part of our microbiome – play a role in skin health. The Joyome Day Serum label does not tell us which ingredients make up the Microbiome Balancing Complex. As such, it is hard to discuss this topic. I'd like to know what the ingredients are and how those ingredients “balance” the microbiome.
8 Plexus Joyome Vs. The Competition
Joyome vs. Plexaderm
By now, most people have seen the dramatic TV commercials for Plexaderm and how, within seconds, it improves bags under the eyes. One of the key ingredients in Plexaderm is Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 – which we know better as Argireline. I believe this is the key ingredient in Plexaderm and most other rapid anti-wrinkle/ skin firming creams.
Joyome vs. Halo Beauty
Halo Beauty by Tati Westbrook is a hair skin and nails supplement. While it does have a little bit in common- ingredients-wise – with Joyome, it's a supplement. Joyome Day Serum (and overnight cream) is applied topically to the skin. As such, they work differently. Would they work better together? That is unknown at this time.
Joyome vs. Principal Secret
Reclaim, by Victoria Principal, is an anti-wrinkle cream that has been around a long time. Like Joyome Day Serum, it also contains Argireline as one of its key ingredients. As mentioned above, Argireline is a botox cream. It works similarly to botox although it's a weaker version.
It has research showing it can temporarily reduce wrinkles. I believe Argireline is the main active ingredient in both Joyome Illuminating Day Serum and Principal Secret Reclaim.
See the Principal Secret Review
Joyome vs. Hydroxatone
Hydroxatone, another popular anti-wrinkle cream also contains Argireline as a key ingredient. While no studies have compared Hydroxatone to Joyome, my guess is they may work similarly because they contain the argireline compound.
Joyome vs. Allura
Allura Face Firming Lift Cream also contains Argireline. No clinical studies appear to exist which compare Allura to Joyome or any other Argireline-containing face cream.
Joyome vs. Asterwood Naturals
Asterwood Naturals makes a serum that contains Argireline and hyaluronic acid, both of which are also in the Plexus Day Serum.
Here is Asterwood Naturals on Amazon
To be frank, after looking at the various anti-wrinkle and skin firming creams on Amazon, my belief that Argireline is the key ingredient is reaffirmed. A LOT of skin firming creams contain this compound.
9 How To Use Joyome
The instructions on how to use Joyome are as follows:
1 Wash your face with your favorite skin cleanser
2 Apply three pumps of Illuminating Day Serum gently onto your face and neck. For the eye wrinkles (crows-feet, etc) softly pat the serum onto the skin around the orbital bone.
3 After the serum has been absorbed by the skin, follow up with using a moisturizer, SPF or foundation.
That's it.
10 Is Joyome Better With The Overnight Repair Cream?
Joyome Illuminating Day Serum is often paired with Joyome Intensive Overnight Repair Cream. The ingredients in both anti-wrinkle creams are different. One major difference is the overnight cream does not contain Argireline. While clinical studies proving they work better together cannot be located, it's possible they might. Let's see what future research says.
11 Does Joyome Overnight Repair Contain Argireline?
No. The Intensive Overnight Repair Cream is a different product. It does not contain Argireline. The Overnight Repair cream contains retinoid ester which is a form of vitamin A. Numerous studies have found vitamin A creams can improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
12 Can Men Use Joyome?
Yes. Joyome can be used by both men and women. While the majority of studies of argerline have involved women, I see no reason why the effects would not be similar in men who use this product.
13 How Long Do The Effects Last?
Good question. I think the effects of the Day Serum would vary by how many wrinkles someone had and how deep those wrinkles were. My guess is the anti-wrinkle effect will last several hours, maybe all day. It's possible regular use may last even longer. The effects on wrinkles should be noticeable after about 1 month of regular use.
Some low quality, click-bate websites may say Argireline is better than Botox but this is not true. A single Botox treatment will last many months. A single treatment of Argireline cream won't do this. While Argireline and Botox work similar, Argireline is a much weaker version. On the plus side, because its a weaker version, Argireline would not be expected to have the same side effects as Botox.
If you have tried Joyome, leave a comment below and let me know how long it lasted for you.
14. Joyome Beauty From Within Combo
Some people may opt for the Beauty From Within Combo where Joyome is purchased alongside other Plexus products such as Plexus X Factor and Plexus Slim. While there is nothing inherently wrong with this and I'm sure the company will discount the combo, I don't believe these other products add to the wrinkle-reducing effects of Joyome. If you are on a budget and struggling to decide which is best, my advice is to stick with on the Joyome day serum only.
15. Plexus Joyome Before And After
I've seen several very impressive Joyome before and after pictures on Instagram. Some of the before and after images I've looked have shown significant differences after 1-3 weeks of use. The changes include visible differences in wrinkles, blemishes, and even skin tightening. I believe a lot of this is due to argerline.
BTW, say hi if you're on Instagram – I'm SupplementClairty 🙂
16 Plexus Joyome Side Effects
Joyome is expected to be very safe in the majority of men and women who use it. If you are new to Joyome, apply to a small area of skin at first to see what happens. Always remember to use sunscreen too as this is the best defense against wrinkles starting.
- Even though argireline works similarly to Botox, the side effects should not be the same because argireline is a weaker version. Still, if you are allergic to Botox or can't use it because of things like bells palsy, speak to a doctor before using skin creams containing argireline.
- Until more is known, don't use argireline-containing creams while breastfeeding.
- Some online have described skin drooping with argireline but research studies do not show this to occur. The risk of this happening is not known. While my hunch is it does not happen often, try it out on a small part of skin first to see what happens.
- Speak to your dermatologist if you are treated with a drug called methotrexate. One report suggests orally taken red clover may interact with methotrexate. This is very different than using a topical cream, but it's worth mentioning to your dermatologist so they are aware of it. Red clover might also cause breast tenderness in some people but more research is needed on this.
- Because red clover contains phytoestrogens (isoflavones) speak to your doctor if you have a history of cancer, such as breast cancer or are getting hormone replacement therapy.

20 Does Joyome Work?
For an anti-wrinkle cream, the key ingredients in Plexus Joyome Day Serum make sense. So it's possible women and men may notice a difference in the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. From the pictures I've seen, people may see a difference in as little as 1-4 weeks. I believe much of the wrinkle-reducing effects because of argireline, which is a weak acting botox cream, clinically shown to improve the appearance of wrinkles.
Here's Argireline on Amazon
Terri H says
I have been using the Joyome system for 60 days. It left dry, scaly red patches on my cheeks. It also created hard, crunchy scab-like areas near my hair line. I did NOT notice any improvement in wrinkles nor discoloration. I do NOT recommend this product.
Joe says
Hi Terri, I think you are the first to report side effects like this. Really sorry that happened to you! Just curious: how long did the red patches take to go away after you stopped using Joyome?
Rachel Ryder says
I had someone on Instagram ask if they could mail me samples of Joyome – as a skincare addict, I agreed because why not! I will say both serums feel lovely but the night cream isn’t near moisturizing enough for my skin.
If you want something incredible and that actually reduces lines, try the Biossance line. I’m a loyal user of their phyto-retinol, vitamin C Rose squalene oil, and the Omega repair cream. Literally transformed my skin. No affiliation with Biossance, just a customer.
Joe says
Hi Rachel, thanks for sharing that. I think I’ve heard of Biossance. So glad to hear it has worked so well for you 🙂
Mollie says
Just read this thread on Joyome day and night products. I am an Ambassador but I have NEVER sold any of the the Plexus products to someone else. I do think the pricing is a bit high which is why I am an Ambassador – for the discount.
So far I find the two skin care products to be very good. I am 69 and so I am not seeing the “fountain of youth” but I do think my skin is softer and smoother with the Joyome. If you are looking for a good skin care product, you might like Joyome. I’ve used up my first bottle of each product and am on my second. I did get about two months use out of my first shipment.
Joe says
Hi Mollly, thanks for sharing your experiences. I’m glad you can get a discount as an Ambassador 🙂
Erika says
Hi! Can You help me to buy this Joyome skincare combo? I’m Italian, I can’t buy this on the official website because they do not ship to Italy.
Joe says
Does anyone have options for Erika?
Kim says
It isn’t sold outside the U.S., Canada and Australia. Perhaps Erika knows someone in one of those countries who can order it for her?
Joe Cannon says
Hi Kim, thanks for the feedback on this. That is a really good idea 🙂
Janie says
If you know of an ambassador who would be willing to ship it for you then you can get it.
Donna Kilgore says
Erika,
I can help you get your hands on Joyome and there is a HUGE special on it right now too. I’d be happy to help and ship it to you. =)
Let me know– email me at author.dmkilgore@yahoo.com if you want my help.

Kat says
These before and after pictures are pretty impressive. OK. I’m gonna to give this stuff a try. Wish me luck 🙂
Joe says
Hi Kat, they are indeed and good luck 🙂
Alison Rieke says
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACugU7UqpdE Joyome is legit! I am a huge fan.
Joe says
Alison, my guess is Dr Zand is a paid consultant for Plexus but I was shocked to learn I’ve been pronouncing it wrong! Is it really pronounced “Joy-Ohm” and Not “Joy Oh Me” as I’ve been pronouncing it?
Janie says
Yes, it’s Joy-ohm (as in meditation). Dr. Zand is not a paid consultant for Plexus. Plexus asked her to review the products and she fell in complete love with the system and uses it herself. She also carries the products in her office.
Joe says
Janie, well that just proves I’m not perfect LOL. who made up Joy-ohm name? you sure shes not paid? Is she a plexus ambassador?
Janie says
I’m not sure where the name Joyome came from. She is not a Plexus ambassador but in June was put on the Plexus Scientific Advisory Board. This was after the release of Joyome.
Christin Powell, co-founder of Juice Beauty, worked with Plexus on this product.
Joe says
Janie, thanks. I just heard somebody talking about Juice Beauty the other day. Small world.
Faith M Young says
Joy and the skin microbiome. I have been using it since it came out in May 2018. I have not had to use any other face, neck or eye cream at all. My skin is brighter, firmer, smoother and moist. I am 52 years old.
You can use these serums for 60 days and get your money back with an empty bottle if you are not satisfied.
Joe says
Faith, thanks for your feedback . Im happy Joyome is working well for you 🙂
Pete says
Janie
Drs. are not asked to review a product, or products without an offering of some sort of compensation. Drs. are very leary about endorsing any product. Just some more BS from PS.
Janie says
Pete, all I know is she was asked to use the products and review them which she did. Is it possible she was given the products to use without charge, thereby “being paid”? It’s possible but that information was not shared with ambassadors. The question was whether or not she was a paid consultant with Plexus. The answer was no.
From my understanding there is a conflict of interest were she to be paid by Plexus to sell the products in her practice, which she does. She purchased 150 cases of the product for her practice. She is NOW, as of June 1, on the scientific advisory board. She is not an ambassador with Plexus Worldwide.
Donna Kilgore says
Plexus doesn’t pay for consulting or advertising. All 7 magazines featuring Joyome right now were because THEY were so impressed, not because Plexus paid for any advertising. This stuff is LEGIT.
2.5 years on all the products, no health issues or medications anymore, and my skin is to die for.
I was a HUGE skeptic. THIS WORKS. And unlike other “diets” and “plans” this isn’t a diet so the results LAST. I’ve not gained an inch back and am still losing.
It’s hard to believe, I understand. I waited 3 years to try it and never ever believed it would work.
It does. =)
Joe says
Thanks Donna. Very glad to hear its working so well for you 🙂
Janie says
I’ve used Joyome for 2 months, since the release. I’ve had several dark spots fade away and hyper pigmentation from the wonderful Texas sun disappear. My face is firmer and redness is gone. I wish I could share my photo comparison.
Joe says
Hi Janie, send me an email through my contact page and Ill reply back. Then just attach before and after pics and Ill add them to the before and after pictures. I’m really glad to hear Joyome has been working for you.
If you have read my other Plexus reviews, you know I always dont have good things to say. I’m really glad to see a product that has some evidence it can work.
Janie says
Joe, if you have any questions regarding other products or need clarification on anything just shoot me an email. I promise I’ll be 100% honest. I assure you, and everyone, my integrity means more to me than sales.
Joe says
Thanks Janie, I appreciate that 🙂

Sherri says
Good Morning,
Just starting to use Joyome day and night and I have a few questions. I usually wash with a charcoal bar by beauty counter, also use an eye cream by beauty counter and then will tone with WITCH HAZEL.
Will I benefit fully from the Joyome with these two steps prior to applying? I’d like to get the best results possible. Your input is appreciated.
Regards,
Sherri
Joe says
Hi Sherri, while I cant comment on the other things you are doing, I can say the argireline ingredient in Joyome is probably something you are not getting in the other products you are using.
Does anyone else have any insights for Sherri?
Beth says
Sherri,
The charcoal bar is a great cleansing product. The best part of Joyome is that you don’t need an extra toner or eye cream. It does the job of these other products with just two steps, one day serum and one night serum. The best way to learn more is to work with your Plexus ambassador.
Angela Rubio says
I’m a plexus ambassador for 3yrs now. I’m not a pushing seller…I got into Plexus for the muscle cream and probio5. I will say I am impressed with the Joyome, so far. I was looking for a cream for my wrinkles around my eyes and my age spots before this product came out.
I have used Joyome for more than a month…I’m embarrassed to show my face with out make up, so I did not post a before and after pictures on my facebook pg, not sure If i will, but I notice the age spot getting lighter and my forehead wrinkles which i didn’t even knew i had are gone…but around my eyes and eye lids, still not a huge change…but my face is lighter as well, more like a glow.
I want to be able to get rid of my age spots, so I can wear less foundation on my face & only cream. So I will keep on using Joyome. They have samples we can give out…but you really need to use it a month, to see a difference.
Joe says
Hi Angela, thanks for shearing that. Im glad you are seeing positive results with Joyome so far. I did not know they were saying Joyome could help age spots. Which cream are they saying helps age spots- the day cream or overnight cream?
Janie says
The overnight cream has Azelaic acid to minimize the appearance of age spots and brightens the skin tone.
Joe says
Thanks Janie, I thought Azelaic acid was by prescription only. Turns out I was wrong.
Wendy says
Very interesting read, thanks for all of the info! Of course, I have a couple of questions now too, please. If I look for products on the chemist shelf in Australia, what amount of argireline should I look for? Or ideally, how high in the ingredients list should it be? And does argireline also help with sagging jowls?
Joe says
Hi Wendy, good question. I have seen some interesting pictures online of people who have used argireline. Some of those pictures makes me think there might be some tightening of jowls. I do think results would vary by the degree of jowl sagging someone had.
As for what percentage of argireline someone should look for, I think less is more when just starting out and only use it on a small area at first to see what happens. Most people seem to be happy with argireline but Id like to be conservative about this.
When I looked at argireline on Amazon I saw some products claming to be 20% solutions, 30% solutions and even 100% argireline solutions. Most of what I see are 20% solutions. Again, I think its best to start with less at first and lets see what happens.
Its probably a good idea also to speak to the pharmacist when you to shopping for this. Your pharmacist/chemist might have insights on what products might be best.
I hope that helps Wendy. if you have any other questions, just ask. BTW, I like your website 🙂
Melanie Fowler says
Hey All! My name is Melanie Fowler and I am a Plexus ambassador. I understand the frustrations that some of you may have concerning Joyome. I sold skincare products for years and Joyome is one of the best there is. One ingredient not mentioned above is squalane. Squalane is an aging deterrent. It helps boost the collagen and therefore, all those pesky fine lines begin to not be as noticeable. I believe in this product 100%. If it did not work for you we have a 60 day money back guarantee. If you have any questions find me on Facebook!!!
Joe says
Hi Melanie, Thanks for bringing this up. I based my review on the ingredients Plexus said were the main ingredients. Squalane was not listed as a main ingredient. That’s why I did not cover it. Squalane is an oil and is something we make. It does have antioxidant properties and that’s another reason its found in moisturizers like Joyome as well as many others
About squalane and collagen production: I’ve seen evidence taking squalane orally (pill form) might increase collagen production. I have not seen research on squalene cream boosting collagen production. If you have a study on this, please share. I’d like to see it and add it to my files.
I took a look at the ingredients in Joyome Night cream and Squalane is listed toward the bottom of the ingredients. That tells us there isn’t much in it. While Im sure Squalane does something in Joyome, I still believe argereline is the main ingredient.
George says
Not impressed with what appears to be the Plexus business model at all — we have seen new Ambassador’s go make 2000 new Facebook friends – most of who they do not know and then begin to post multiple daily pro-Plexus posts to their new friends FB page. Guess they feel the barrage of unrelenting Plexus posts will finally break down their new FB “friends” into buying their products.
Guess the bottom line is trying to keep these Ambassadors excited about buying and trying to sell grossly overpriced products.
Joe says
Hi George, I have heard of plexus ambassadors doing this too. I’ve heard in multi level marketing they tell people to start with family and friends. I guess these days, that means facebook friends too?
Sharon says
It is so unfortunate that anyone in sales would do that! It is a very tacky practice and certainly wouldn’t be a good way to share. I use and sell Plexus products but would never, ever, under any circumstance even think to do that. Nor has it ever been suggested to me that I should!
As for Joyome – I have been using it for 60 days now and love my results. The backs of my hands and neck are having great results too!
Barb Moyers says
Which product is best for wrinkles.
Joe says
Hi Barb, In my opinion, the best out thing to temporary reduce wrinkles is Argereline. Here it is on Amazon I believe this is the key ingredient in Joyome.
I would also say the best thing for stopping wrinkles from getting worse is to wear sunscreen – at least 30 SPF – when you go outside.
Janie says
The night serum has retinoid ester that works to soften the appearance of deep lines and wrinkles.
Sonia Koop says
I purchased Plexus and it did absolutely nothing for me. No changes, no wrinkles filled, etc. Waste of money and those commercials where those huge bags disappear I’m sure are a con too!!!
Joe says
Hi Sonia, thank you for sharing this. I’m honestly quite surprised as Plexus Joyome does contain an ingredient called argireline shown to reduce wrinkles temporarily. While I don’t have an explanation, because is a LOT less powerful than Botox, its effectiveness would likely depend how deep the wrinkles were. Either way, sorry it did not work for you. Have you tried just argireline serum by itself?
Sonia Koop says
No I have not tried Argireline serum but I’m going to buy some and test it. I’ll report back. Plexus is definitely not a replacement for Botox injections. I’m willing to see how much Argireline helps with my wrinkles.
Joe says
Sonia, thanks for letting me know and I will look forward to learning what happens when you try argireline serum.
Tay says
That is very interesting. I thought Joyome just came on the market in June. How were you able to get it, try it, and develop a conclusion that quickly? We’re you a tester? Just Inquiring.
Angela says
My thoughts exactly! She posted that conclusion just within a few weeks of it even being released!
Janie says
It was released to the public on May 5th.
Sonia says
It was on what I thought was a talk show in Arizona, I now know it was a well crafted infomercial. They spoke of how it was being offered to select few, blah, blah, blah and took it all in like it was a cutting edge product.
I purchased it over a year ago, so no, it did not just come on the market. The commercials are new -the product is not.
Janie says
I’m not sure what you purchased but it was not Joyome from Plexus. Joyome was released on May 5, 2018. For a month it was available to ambassadors with Plexus and a few weeks later it was open for customer purchase through an ambassador/company website.
Plexus does not advertise our products on TV or radio. All advertising comes via company ambassadors.
Joyome is cutting edge and has been featured in 3 magazines to date, including the July edition of Allure. There are rumored to be 4 other major publications which will feature Joyome in their issues.
Jackie says
I believe you are talking about Plexaderm. I see their infomercial almost daily. The Plexus product is Joyome. I think you have then confused.
Joe Cannon says
Jackie, I think you are right! I dont know how I forgot about Plexuaderm. Plexaderm commercials are on all the time. Thanks for pointing this out 🙂
Janie says
Actually Sonia there are no commercials regarding Plexus Joyome, let alone one that makes “huge bags disappear”. I’m also not sure where the claim comes from that says Joyome is a replacement for Botox. I’m thinking maybe you are confusing this with another product.
I’ve personally experienced dramatic firming of my jawline, the redness in my face is gone, my puffy eyes are gone as are dark spots and hyper pigmentation. I’m happy to share my side by side photos with you.
Joe says
Hi Janie, I dont think Ive heard Joyome is a replcement for Botox either but one of its ingredients does work like Botox. Its called argireline Plexus calls this ingredient Acetyl Hexapeptide-8
Emili says
Sonia, I’m interested in learning about the Plexus “commercials” you’re talking about. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one.
Joe says
Emili, I’ve never seen a plexus commercial either.
Saudia Broyard says
Can I use this with my Proactiv skin system? It’s a 3 step cleanser, toner, moisturizer. Should I use only the Proactiv cleanser, skip the other two steps and then Joyome?
Joe says
Hi Saudia, I checked Proactiv for you and didn’t see argireline listed in Proactiv. So that’s good. Since they seem to have different ingredients, my hunch is they might play nice together but I think its best to experiment a bit and see what works best for you. Let us know what happens.
Beth says
Saudia,
I have a family member who has used Proactive for her extreme acne. She now uses only Joyome. It has made a HUGE difference in her skin and she is more than elated to find something so simple and effective.
She simply washes her face with a charcoal soap before applying the serums, one in the morning and one in the evening. Plus it is non GMO. I’d be happy to help you get more info on Joyome!
Christina says
I would like to see the difference between Joyome and Skincerity. If anyone has used or heard anything please I would like to know.
Joe says
Hi Christina, I just looked up Skincerity on Amazon. looks like there are different Skincerity types. Which one were you considering? Let me know and I’ll compare them for you
Christina Lewis says
Breathable mask, there is the original and there is the new one (purple) that is now intense. There line is amazing I just wanted to see the comparison between the 2 before I try Joyome.
Joe says
Hi Christina, I’ll take a look at the Breathable mask and put together a review of them. Ill try to get it up in a few days. Stay tuned
Christina Lewis says
Thank you 🙂
Joe says
Hi Christina, I took a look at Skincerity breathable mask. I could not find out what the ingredients were in all of their products. What I was able to see showed me the ingredients looked different than Joyome. Specially I did not see argireline ( Acetyl Hexapeptide-8) listed. I believe that is the key anti-wrinkle ingredient in Joyome. If you have skincerity look at the ingredients and see if you see argireline listed. if you dont, then this confirms to me their key ingredients are different.
I hope this helps.
Sarah says
Hi, I’m curious to know if you have any more input concerning the Red Clover (TP)?
As I understand, TP is a phytoestrogen. What can this do to someone who is hormone sensitive and unaware?
Joe says
Hi Sarah, yes red clover (Trifolium pratene) does contain phytoestrogens, called isoflavones. I did a search for you on this and located this review study
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24312387
In this review they say “Evidence on red clover is limited, however existing studies suggest that it may not possess breast cancer-promoting effects.” So while this might seem good, we must remember that cancer is complicated and we are all different. I think those with a history of cancer should speak to their oncologist about red clover use.
I have updated the review with this information. I appreciate you bringing it up.
If you have any other questions, just ask 🙂
Christa JE Howland says
Thank you for this information; well written and unbiased ~ I like that.
I too am a Plexus Ambassador and from what I am seeing this product is performing as it was intended and I love that Plexus has delivered a skin care under the European Unions standard by not considering any of the 1300 banned ingredients from this product.
Yes there is a lot of hype and we have lots to learn but from what I am seeing in my own personal study is that there is a lot of JOY being shared.
Joe says
Hi Christa, thanks so much. 🙂
Pete says
Joe
With the active ingredients being on the market for some time,( Victoria Principa) wouldn’t this product be considered generic. If so, I don’t understand why PS is making such a big deal about it. Argrireline products are on almost every shelve in Wal-mart, etc.
Joe says
Pete, yes, you could say that. Given the research on it, I’ve always been a bit surprised argireline never got as much attention for wrinkle reduction as maybe it should have.
Michael says
“we have lots to learn”
Not the type of thing you want to hear when smearing untested and unregulated products all over your face.
Christa’s FB page is loaded with the usual unsubstantiated claims and the before/after photos that use different lighting, etc. She’s also one of those who jaunts off to Hawaii on the backs of her downlines.
Please take what Ambassadors claim with a block of salt. They are counting on sales of the product and new Ambassadors to fill their pockets.
Janie says
Hi Michael! 🙂
Please don’t lump us all in together. Are there some ambassadors who will kill for a sale? Yes, but that isn’t unlike any other sales position in any other company. Some of us use the products and share what they’ve done for us with our family and friends. I am one of those.
I am not a top producer of the company nor do I aspire to be. But when something actually works for you, especially after a literal lifetime of trying, then it’s common for us to tell our friends and families. It is really no different then telling your friends about a great restaurant they should try.
Michael says
” It is really no different then telling your friends about a great restaurant they should try.”
Except that nobody is trying to hook rubes into a network marketing scheme when they recommend a restaurant.
All Plexus Ambassadors are the same. Just cookie cut people who flock to Ambassador meetings to get talking points and smear them all over social media, etc. You’ve been sent here to defend Plexus by an upline and use all the same predicatble excuses/scripted responses.
Janie says
Actually I haven’t been “sent here to defend Plexus” by anyone. I was simply checking on recent publications featuring Joyome and found this thread.
You really should get out more Michael, seems you are living a bitter life.
Beth says
Michael, Saying that all Plexus Ambassadors are all the same is like saying that all people named Michael are bitter and falsely informed. We come from all walks of life and have different reasons for believing in the Plexus products.
Some of us choose to share the products because we believe in them. It really is no different than sharing why you like a certain type of shoe, or a new store. Some Ambassadors choose to make their living by sharing the products, no different than some people have been selling top cosmic lines or other popular products for years.
I know these products work for me and have improved my life (other Plexus products, not just the Joyome) and I choose to share this information with others. It’s as simple as that.
Camille Ridge says
Thank you for this information! I am a Plexus ambassador and have used Joyome for just under a week. I love how my face feels so far, and it looks brighter too. I have friends that are noticing their darkness around their eyes improving already.
The clinical trials of Joyome are still underway, so that’s why they have not been published yet. Though, the preliminary results had 97% of participants show measurable reductions in wrinkles and fine lines in just 7 days.
The trial manager said results like these usually take 4-6 weeks. We’re all very excited about the possibilities of Joyome – it really does seem like a great product! Thank you for posting this information!
Joe says
Hi Camille, you are very welcome. I’m glad you found my review useful. Do let me know when the clinical trials of Joyome are published. I’d be interested in reading them and adding the results to the review.
Pete says
Joe
Knowing the history of PS performing studies, I do not believe this product, that really has been on the market forever, is being clinically studied. Why? It is just a bunch of PS BS to keep the ambassadors hopping, and giving them something to talk about. I wouldn’t expect to see those studies any time soon, or ever.
Joe says
Hey Pete, I hear ya. I’m always willing to look at whatever research they have to show. Let’s see what the future holds. 🙂
Janie says
I have the results of the clinical study. Happy to provide.
Joe says
Hi Janie, sure thing. Just emailed you back
Michael says
Pete,
You and I both know that Plexus will never, ever publish clinical trials of any of their products. Isn’t it funny how an Ambassador like Camille Ridge immediately shows up and begins the unmitigated cheer-leading for a new product? Browsing her FB pages, you can see she’s just another shill for the company who makes unsubstantiated claims about what Plexus products can do.
Pete says
Camille
I was in sales for 33 years, and yet to hear the words “trial manager” to describe a position in sales. I have heard the words “product manager” a zillion times. I held the position for several years. This sounds like another made up term that PS came up with to throw you amb.a curve.
I know what a product manager’s duties are when presenting information for clinical trials, could you explain to me the duties of a trial manager in this respect.
Michael says
My money is that a “trial manager” is a Diamond Ambassador who is cooking up all sorts of marketing hype to sell this stuff. That includes how to construct the perfect before/after pictures with lighting and angles.
