Update 12/6/22. At one time, Anatabloc was a SUPER popular anti-inflammation supplement. It was sold online and at GNC and elsewhere. It was touted to help reduce pain, help joints and arthritis pain, and reduce chronic inflammation. Anatabloc was unique. It contained an ingredient not found in any other supplement I've EVER seen in over 20 years of investigation. This unique ingredient also contributed to its own downfall. In this unbiased, updated review, I reveal everything you need to know about Anatabloc, from its rise – and fall – to the research and proof and the company which made it. I'll also shed light on other anatabloc supplements too.
What Is Anatabloc
Before we talk about Anatabloc (sometimes misspelled Anatablock), I need to tell you about Anatabine (also called anatabine citrate). Anatabine is the active ingredient in Anatabloc. Anatabine is a chemical found in
- eggplants
- potatoes
- green tomatoes
as well as tobacco and tobacco smoke (remember this).
Chemically, anatabine “looks” like nicotine. Because of this, it was also used some anti-smoking supplements. Anatabine has a longer half life than nicotine, so it stays in the body longer. That's why it was thought it might help people quit smoking.
How Does Anatabloc Work?
Here is the way Anatabloc was supposed to reduce chronic inflammation:
1. Anatabine enters the cells of the body where it…
2. Deactivates a protein called NFkB.
3. When NFkB is deactivated, it can't enter the nucleus of the cell (the brain center of the cell) to cause excessive cellular inflammation.
Inflammation is thought to play a role in MANY diseases, such as:
and many others.
So, if Anabloc worked, it might have disease-modifying benefits. If you read the comments below, you will see some people have said some pretty amazing things too.
Anatabloc Ingredients
Anatabloc contains these ingredients
Anatabine | 1 mg |
Vitamin A | 500 IU |
Vitamin D3 | 40 IU |
This review will focus only on Anatabine because this is “secret sauce” in Anatabloc.
Other Ingredients
These other ingredients are also found in this supplement: Mannitol, natural and artificial mint flavors, sucralose, silicon dioxide, stearic acid, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide (color), natural glaze, methylparaben, propylparaben, triethyl citrate, citric acid, BHT, mono and diglycerides, and polysorbate 80
These ingredients played no role in the results or benefits of Anatabloc.
Anatabloc Research
When this review was originally created, the proof for Anatabloc was mostly on lab animals. There is now human proof. This review will focus only on human research. Much of the research is on Anatabine, which is an active ingredient in Anatabloc. Still, proof for anatabine is proof for Antabloc.
Rock Creek Pharmaceuticals (more on them below) supports and plays a role in much of the research.
Studies On Anatabloc
In one report, researchers in the US gave Anatabloc or a placebo to 146 people with Hashimoto's disease – the most common form of hypothyroidism. People were given 9-24 mg of anatabine in the form of lozenges. Those taking Anatabloc saw a significant reduction in thyroid autoantibodies.
Some people saw over a 20% decrease in thyroid autoantibodies. This means better working thyroid glands.
One small study (10 people) noted a face cream containing anatabine improved skin appearance, reducing redness and blotchy skin appearance. This does make some sense. Niacin, which looks a little bit like anatabine has been used in skin creams for years.
Niacin is also VERY popular in the anti-aging world. See the Niagen review for more on this.
Anatabine cigarettes have been shown to reduce nicotine levels in smokers significantly. This study reflects the interest in using anatabine to help people quit smoking.
Because inflammation follows exercise, researchers were interested in seeing if anatabine would reduce inflammation after people worked out. In this study, 18 men were given either a placebo or 6-12 mg of anatabine per day for 10 days. They also performed an intense exercise program.
Unfortunately, this noted anatabine did not reduce pain, or swelling or help muscle strength. This is noteworthy, given TV commercials featuring pro golfers John Isner and Fred Couples.
In another exercise study, researchers gave Anatabloc or a placebo to 17 men. The dosage of Anatabloc used was 6-12 mg. While these researchers saw that Anatabloc did not reduce exercise-induced muscle damage, it did appear to reduce markers of inflammation such as C reactive protein (CRP). That is interesting.
Preliminary research suggests anatabine activates NFR2, a substance that raises naturally produced antioxidant defenses such as superoxide dismutase (SOD). This is at the heart of some proposed anti-aging supplements, such as Protandim and PB125.
There are also several lab animals and test-tube studies involving Anatabloc/anatabine. I won't cover them here because we are people and not mice, rats or test tubes.
Summary Of Anatabloc Research
Here is a summary of the Anatabloc human research:
- Anatabine reduced thyroid antibodies in people with hypothyroidism
- Anatabine lowers nicotine levels in smokers
- Anatibine did not reduce muscle damage, pain, or swelling but may lower CPR levels
Anatabloc Questions
Let's now answer some common questions people have asked me about this supplement.
Can Anatabloc help muscle soreness?
Muscle soreness after exercise (DOMS) is very common. Currently, the proof seems to show Anatabloc doesn't reduce muscle soreness, swelling or muscle damage. It may reduce a blood test marker of inflammation called CRP. I think we need more exercise research.
Can Anatabloc Help Concussions?
There is brain inflammation when someone gets a concussion. But there is no proof that taking Anatabloc:
- reduces the risk of getting a concussion
- improves recovery time after getting a concussion
- reduces brain damage from concussions
I cannot find any research involving anatabine and concussions.
In December 2013, the FDA sent a warning letter to Star Scientific – makers of Anatabloc – telling them to remove references on their websites which gave people the impression the supplement might help concussions and other forms of traumatic brain injuries (TBI).
For more on concussions and TBI see these reviews:
Can Anatabloc Help Multiple Sclerosis?
The proof that Anatabloc can help MS is in its infancy. There is some mouse evidence it may help, but no human studies have been conducted yet.
What About Anataboc and Weight Loss?
Websites might discuss how anatabine/Anatabloc can help people lose weight or reduce weight gain, which sometimes happens when people quit smoking. But there is no good proof for this. No study has looked at reducing gaining weight after quitting smoking.
What is CigRx?
This is the anti-smoking product Star Scientific was developing before it began researching anatabine for arthritis pain and other health problems. CigRx contains anatabine too.
Anatabloc Dosage
The general recommendation is to take 2 lozenges per day. Do not use more than 6 lozenges per day. Another dosage recommendations= take your body weight into consideration. Here the Anatabloc dosages would be:
- 100-120 lbs: 2 lozenges 3x per day
- 121-170lbs: 2 lozenges 4x per day
- 171-220lbs: 2 lozenges 5x per day
- over 220lbs: 2 lozenges 6x per day
I've never seen this dosage regimen used in human studies. So, I'm not sure how accurate this is.
Who Makes Anatabloc?
Anatabloc is a product of a company called Rock Creek Pharmaceuticals. Another name for this company is Star Scientific. Star Scientific was the original name of the company. When the research changed directions from looking at Anatabine as a cure for smoking to helping arthritis pain, the company changed its name to Rock Creek Pharmaceuticals.
The phone number for the company was 800-778-2031. The company website was Anatabloc.com (the website no longer works). When this review was originally created, the Better Business Bureau listed the company address as 4470 Cox Rd Ste 110, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
There is also a connection to another company called the RosKamp Institute, located in Florida. Some of the research on Anatabloc has been conducted by this company too.
The company has since filed for bankruptcy and is no longer making Anatabloc supplements.
Should I Invest In Rock Creek Pharmaceuticals?
Star Scientific formally changed its name to Rock Creek Pharmaceuticals in 2014. Its stock symbol is RCPI. It's a publicly traded company. Regardless of what you invest in, do your homework.
Be careful with “gurus” who talk stocks up on websites, as you don't always know who you are dealing with. Sometimes unscrupulous people say things about a company to create interest so they can pump the stock price up so they can dump it for a profit. This trick is sometimes called “pump and dump.” Unless you’re an investing pro (think Warren Buffett), I recommend you talk to a financial advisor before risking any money.
Anatabloc And The FDA
Many people think the FDA does not regulate supplements. Anatabloc is proof it does. Almost from the start, the FDA claimed anatabine contained a new dietary ingredient (NDI). A new dietary ingredient is any substance that was not sold as a supplement before 1994.
Products containing new dietary ingredients need to prove to the FDA they are safe. There is also the issue that anatabine is found in tobacco. Tobacco cannot be called a dietary supplement. I think this may also have played a role in the demise of Anatabloc.
Rock Creek pharmaceuticals state that because anatabine is found in things like peppers and eggplants, it is not new and can be sold as a supplement. In the end, the FDA won, and Rock Creek stopped making Anatabloc.
Calls To Bring Back The Sale Of Anatabloc
Problems with the FDA have not stopped people from hoping for the return of Anatabloc.
This has not stopped people who loved Anatabloc from continuing to hold out hope. Former customers have launched a petition at Change.org to petition the FDA to reverse their decision and let Anatabloc be sold again.
They created the website BringBackAnatabloc.org where you can share your testimony of how the supplement helped you, sign an FDA petition to bring Anatabloc back, and read news about the supplement.
How To Buy Anatabloc: Can You Still Purchase It?
While this supplement was once VERY popular and sold at GNC and other stores, it is no longer permitted to be sold in the US. The FDA forced Rock Creek Pharmaceuticals to stop the production of Anatabloc.
Anatabloc Supplements
While Anatabloc is no longer able to be purchased in the US, I did notice other companies selling supplements said to contain anatabine.
One such company is HydraPharm (PredatorNutrition.com). They sell a supplement literally called “Anatablok” which they say contains “pure anatabine.” Predator Nutrition is not based in the US. I am not sure if they are allowed to ship their Anatablok supplement to the US.
The supplement is marked as an anti-inflammatory nootropic (brain enhancer) used to support memory and attention.
The Va Governor Controversy
As if things could not get worse, Rock Creek Pharm found itself at the center of a very public controversy involving the former Virginia governor, Robert McDonnell, and his wife. It's alleged Rock Creek gave $165,000 in gifts to the former Va governor and his wife in exchange for helping Rock Creek's development of Anatabloc.
Anatabloc Side Effects
Anatabloc is probably safe for healthy people, at least for short-term use. Human research shows no significant negative side effects. Mild to moderate side effects reported have included:
- Dizziness
- Nausea
- Headache
- Tingling feelings
- Insomnia
In the comments section below, one person reported feelings of depression. This has not been observed in clinical studies.
Does Anatabloc Work?
Despite the problems with the FDA, several people swore Anatabloc worked. I never experimented with it when it was being sold and the only person I knew who did try it told me it did not reduce his pain. Pain is complicated and its possible others may have had better results.
Unfortunately, Anatabolc supplements are no longer available in the US. While, in the past, I have been rather hard on this supplement and Rock Creek Pharmaceuticals, I was sad it was taken off the market. I am happy to see some human research on anatabine, look forward to more and hope one day to see it sold once again.
I’ve have always been very skeptical about ANY kind of supplement. I read about Anatabloc on a rosacea forum. Having tried everything to control my rosacea, I decided to spend the money and buy a bottle of Anatabloc at a local GNC. After about 5 days of taking 6 Anatabloc tabs a day, my burning, red face started to subside. About three weeks later, I noticed that my hip bursitis was MUCH better. So much so that I was able to cut back on prescription medication that I had been taking.
I wanted to make sure that the improvements we not a placebo effect, so I stopped taking Anatabloc after my initial 30 day supply ran out. Within a few days my face starting burning again and my hip pain returned. I’ve done this placebo experiment twice now with the same results.
There have been times when I have a bout of facial burning (cold wind, hot showers really set it off). I’ll take two anatabloc tablets and within 20 minutes, the burning stops. There’s not doubt in my mind that anatabloc does work. I just wish it wasn’t so darned expensive, but since it’s the only thing I have found to control these two problems I have, it’s money well spent.
Doug, thanks for testing it and Im glad its helping you. Ive heard those with rosacea have been talking about Anatabloc also.
I am so excited about this. I have a huge list of things that seem to be wrong from IBS to Rosacea, so my husband bought some for him today—I took it over. I plan to start out small doses, 1-3xs a day and see what happens. Also, I am off gluten as well for all of my issues, but that’s a whole nother story! Thank you so much for all of your info and everyone’s input!
Wendy, I really do hope it helps. do let me know.
Doug, yes it is pricey for many…how much will it come down if at all?
I’ve worked with grape seed extract for 17 yrs and I don’t deal with Roseaca but there are many links that talk about the grape seed/pycnogenol help for Roseaca…
The Anatabloc list seems to be very long from what I’ve rec’d from others who are studying it, etc…on what this anatabloc DOES help.
The grapeseed/pycnogenol lists are LONG too on what it helps…..
For me I have NOT used an allergy/sinus drug in 17 yrs since on this antioxidant.
So, working and trying many things is what we have to do, so thought I’d throw this out….and this is not to discount Anatabloc, for sure….but it’s pricey for many of us. I’m taking it for chronic pain and inflammation.
Have some detoxed on the supp. A friend started the trial and I’m not sure how much she took maybe the 6 per day in 3 sessions and she reported: nausea, dizziness and more pain…..says it’s not for her, she is turned off plus the company sent her 30 day supply when she said not to and they agreed to an extension…
So she is more than turned off, but I wonder if her body detoxed on what she took…
My original post is still in the “waiting moderation mode”…wonder why.
The post about the company billing and sending product was about a friend that I put on to the product, so I feel
kinda bad about this.
Everyone read the Terms and Conditions if you go for the 7 day trial order….I did NOT…..but I think I’m OK right now as I bought my 30 day supply and will give it a good trial for this achy breaky body.
A friend gave me a C/S # that he said is very helpful–
800-778-2031, for any problems
joy, not sure what original comment your referring to. Im pretty good about posting comments fast. I checked and only saw one other comment from you posted.
Joe, I appreciate your methodical approach to investigating this. I have pain in both knees from old sports injuries and several previous surgeries including ACL reconstruction 26 years ago. I have not tried this yet, but will keep it on my radar screen. Celebrex does help, but I don’t take it all the time because of side effects and potential risks. The cost of this may be almost prohibitive though. You are providing a great consumer service here.
Jim, thanks, that’s very kind of you to say. much appreciated.
What is with this Company, sending product and billing people that don’t want to continue:
Well, Joy, in spite of what they promised, I just got a bill for $79.99. I checked my bank and it had already been deducted from my balance. I didn’t have much in the bank (the end of the month is difficult for me) and now I barely have enough to cover one bill which is paid online.
So, the representative promised that I would have until March 15th to decide if I wanted a full order. Anatabloc then turned around and billed me immediately.
As sick as this stuff made me, it’s ironic that I will now be saddled with a whole month’s worth. Of course, I will refuse the merchandise when they deliver it, and my bank has told me that they will dispute this bill. They say it shouldn’t take long, but who knows. I HATE these people.
Joy seems satisfied with her interaction with Anatabloc, but for anyone else, beware!
Dianne)))
I don’t feel COMFORTABLE dealing with them or sending people to try their product…..
Joy, really sorry that happened to you and I agree they should not have charged you for Anatabloc before the free offer trial expired. I do hope you are able to get your money back. Next time Joy, please do NOT give anybody direct access to your bank account. Its always best to use a credit card to be safe. Giving them access to your back account could mean they could take whatever they want out of it, potentially really leaving you between a rock and hard place.
I hope you get your money returned fast Joy. please keep me posted on what happens.
Might be a good idea to get a new account number….
Thank you so much for this wealth of information. I received a sales email on this yesterday. I have a lot of arthritic pain in my right hand, back and hip. I checked the sales website and saw what everyone else reported. I didn’t want to deal with auto charges either and not having any information on this product I decided not to do it. After reading all of this, I’m willing to give it a try and will order it from GNC, thanks to all of you. I’ll be happy to give my feedback after I have given it a try.
I’m a long time smoker. I was also interested in it’s possible use to quit smoking. I have tried everything. The patches make me break out, I have had negative reactions to Wellbutrin and Chantix. I don’t want to use nicorette because everyone I know who uses that, is hooked on it. I want to get nicotine free not substitute another nicotine. I would appreciate any information on this too.
Marnie, glad you found me. quitting smoking is as you know very difficult. I don’t know if Anatabloc would help you quit smoking or not (Im sure there are testimonials somewhere on the web about this but Ive never seen any research to prove/disprove it). If you try it and it does please let me know.
I understand not wanting to substitute one form of nicotine for another but I’d only say that least with the gym you are basically just getting the nicotine without the other cancer causing agents in the tobacco. So in that respect its the lesser of 2 evils. I don’t have any easy answers for you on this but if you ask me, Id rather see you “hooked” on the gum than cigarettes. I am biased since Ive seen what smoking does.
The good news is that you are really thinking about quitting and I think that is at least 50% of the battle Marnie. I say keep thinking about it and research more. One website I really like is https://www.thetruth.com/the-facts
Either way I’ll say a prayer you find the strength to quit smoking in the near future.
Hi,
I am a 51 year old male, MS diagnosed 1.5 years ago, also immune thrombocytopenia (low platelet count). My main MS symptoms are spacisity in legs and numbness and tingling in hands and legs.I have been taking Anatabloc for 3 weeks. This is what I have noticed so far:
On the fifth day I noticed that my benign prostatic hyperplasia had improved I started urinating much better without all of stopping and starting, also normal for the last couple of years was to get up 3 or 4 times a night to urinate. Now I normally need to get up only once a night, resulting in better sleep.
On day 13 I noticed my urine stream had improved, in my mind about tripled and the frequency of urinatio went from around 13 to 14 times a day down to 8. I ordered my second bottle of Anatbloc.
I seem to be in a better mood and have more patience with my teenage kids.
For several years I have had a stiff, popping neck, especially in the winter time. I have noticed this is much better the last few days.
Unfortunately I have not had any improvement in the stiffness in my legs and sore knees or tingling in hands and legs.
A few other observations are that my knees and elbows pop a lot more than normal, not sure if this is good or bad. My sinuses are much better than normal. I awake with no difficulty breathing from my nose and a clear chest.
Blood test yesterday, my platelet count held steady even though my cortisone dose had been cut in half, so in this case I do not know if Anatbloc had helped.
All in all I am happy with Anatabloc with the urination and sinus issues, but sure wish it would give some relief to my hands and legs. It is worth the $3 per day just with these improvements.
Stacy, thanks for that report! Im glad you feel its helping your BPH. thats the first Ive heard of this. Might be worth running this past your urologist to see if he has heard about it.
That’s good results re: urination for sure. My sis who is now 64 deals with MS and I get confused with the type as I know there are some forms.
My sis took every drug, infusion, transfuion her specialists threw at her, very costly too, saying these would slow down the progression, she is way worse since the yrs of drugs….I gave them info on Anatabloc but don’t know what they will do if anything.
She’s had a catheter for a few yrs I believe. I’m sure you know everything there is to know on MS. I’ve heard that MS patients do good with LDN.
Hi Joy,
Yes, I have heard of LDN and some people do very well. My doctors are conservative to say the least and I have not found one that will prescribe it for me here in Switzerland. I tried too get two of them to give me a immune system reset using chemo, but they would not discuss it. I still have some hope for my legs by upping the dose of Antabloc to the new recommendations as I am over 200 pounds. Thanks for the input.
I did the trial and found some relief 2nd day, more on 5th day, I almost felt like the Old Me on the 5th day, then got to the 9th day and I ran out of the trial…
I ordered month supply from Anatabloc and it took longer to arrive so I had a backslide, back on now for 4 days…
I deal with OA and Fibro and spinal stenosis (which came on with a ravage after hip replacement surgery), it’s been a mess and I’ve done so much work in the last 2 yrs….on the stenosis….
I will give it a good trial as I deal with a LOT of chronic pain and would LOVE to get off some pain meds…
I don’t like the artificial sweetener, so I got the unflavored, they are fine and YES, I’d like to see the price come down…I’m sure price holds a LOT of people from trying it.
Joy, thanks for the update. I have a feeling that eventually the price of Anatabloc will come down. Im guessing maybe 6-12 months.
Joe: How much of the “positive” results do you think can be attributed to the good ole “placebo effect?”
Hugh, its a tough call. people are reporting some interesting things. I want to believe everybody is being 100% honest in their assessments. Is it possible there is a placebo effect in sometimes. sure its possible. how much I just don’t know. If there is a placebo effect going on with some, is that a bad thing…? that’s a philosophical question I’ll leave to smarter people than me.
Placebo???? For me on the 5th day of the trial I woke up in No Pain that morning….that was so rare for me in the last 2 yrs since hip replacement which did so much negative STUFF to my body. I almost felt like the OLD ME…this has not happened since….
But I do muscle testing and pendulum dowsing and I get positive results that it is and will work for me…
So hope I’m not disappointed. j
A neighbor gave me 5 Days supply (2 pills, 3times daily). I’m a 47 year old tennis fanatic. I played 3hrs, 3 sets of tennis, the day after I started taking it. Usually very muscle sore the day following but not this time. 2hrs of doubles the following day, a day of rest and again 3hrs of singles the next day. This is a lot of Tennis for me and usually I would be sore for a week following. I felt a sense of fatigue but no soreness. During the same time I noticed an increased mental capacity.
I ran out of the pills yesterday and started research into potential issues available online and came across your site.
Very informative. Thank you!
The price is a concern to me as well as potential side effects. I’ll wait for the science to continue taking anatabloc but hope for good news. My experience was a big surprise to me. Very tempted but will hold for now.
Thanks Again!
I am an investor in STSI, so I have been aware of anatabloc for some time. About 5 months ago, I began taking it. At that point, I had fairly significant pain in my right hip, and arthritis in my thumbs. After taking for at least 5 months, I can now walk 5 miles pain free ( couldn’t do a mile when I started) and have full hand function with no pain. I have also had a significant improvement in short term memory. But, of course, I am a sample of one. I would recommend anyone with an inflammatory condition to at least try it. Seemed to work within days for me. And I am 210 pounds, take 3 to 4 a day and it has worked fine.
I first of heard of anatabloc thru a Fred Couples ad. I suffer from spinal stenosis and thought I would give it a try. I was shocked at the price but took a chance anyway. After 3 days use, I am able to move around with much less pain than before. So far, so good.
I called the research facility in Gloucester, MA. (The parent company is in the Rockville, MD area). If you call the 800 number, you do reach a call center. The research facility has a limited number of employees and if they had to man the phones all day, they’d get nothing else done. The call center also provides valuable tracking information to Rock Creek Pharmaceuticals as far as positive comments and/or adverse reactions to the product.
It appears that adverse reactions (such as nausea and dizziness) can result from taking too many Anatabloc. For those that think if a few a day are good than an entire bottle is better — wrong! Also, people that are sensitive to mint or dislike mint may have an issue but no problem when taking the unflavored Anatabloc. The reason Vitamin A and Vitamin D3 are added to the Anatabloc is because people that have inflammatory issues have frequently also been deficient in Vitamins A & D.
In response to Michael T’s unexpected deliveries, auto-delivery was part of the terms when you signed up for the free trial (unless you cancelled before the auto-delivery was to start). I was going to sign up for the free trial but when I saw that (I believe it was on the 2nd screen), I decided I didn’t want the hassle of remembering to cancel by a specified date.
Between the GNC promo, additional rebates and free shipping that was offered at the time, I bought the bottle of 200 instead of dealing with the free trial. I also figured it would arrive sooner than the free trial offer. I am pleased with the results and have since ordered more.
The address is on the back of the Anatabloc label under the words Gluten Free. “Manufactured for Rock Creek Pharmaceuticals, 55 Blackburn Center, Gloucester, MA 01930.” As far as the location, the address shows up on mapquest. Follow Dory Road to Blackburn Drive to Blackburn Center.
Thanks Marjorie, I entered the address but could not get a “street view” to see what the location looked like. I think this is the 3rd or 4th address for this company
Impressed with the research here, Joe. Thanks for putting it out there. I started taking Anatabloc a couple of weeks before ACL reconstruction back (using cadaver tissue, due to my age) in November. I am 6’4″, over 200 lbs, have gluten/casein intolerance, and have chronic inflammation issues throughout my gut, as well as various joints due to prior knee surgery and too many years of trying to play high level sport.
Neither I nor my physical therapists know how much to attribute the results to a great surgeon or to Anatabloc’s inflammation reduction, but I was able to stop using crutches within 28 hours of surgery (once numbness was gone) and stopped wearing the knee brace 6 days after surgery. I actually carried my post-op knee brace into my first PT session. Range of motion was good right away and at 100% within 4 weeks. I was only taking about 2-4 lozenges (mint) per day.
Anecdote: I talked my mother into trying Anatabloc, as she also has autoimmune issues and arthritic inflammation. On the third day, I asked how she was doing, and she asked if it was possible that the product could be working that fast because her hand pain (which she’d had for over a month) completely went away as did the inflammation in her hands.
I have no idea how typical these results are. Having played competitive sports for over 20 years, I’ve learned to listen and understand my body fairly well. From my experience with Anatabloc so far, I am very happy for my 2 bottle GNC investment (with automatic Gold membership 20% discount). Well worth every penny…
Disclosure, when I first purchased the product and started having awesome results, I bought some of their stock on the off chance that this company is onto something good here.
Roman, thanks for the feedback. For what its worth, is a report on a site called seeking alpha from last week that discussed how pharmaceutical companies are investigating molecules similar to anatabine (Anatabloc). Time will tell what happens. Glad you and your mom are doing well!
I sort of stumbled across an ad for Anatabloc…was in pain from sciatica…didn’t want the free sample knowing I would have to give them a credit card number…LOL…I am 76 / female…goggled Anatabloc and bought a 300 count bottle…started it 3 days ago…pain gone…taking 2 tabs twice a day…keeping a positive thought!! WOW.
Thank you for taking your time to investigate antabloc. I would really like to try it, but again have been dooped many times with holistic care and pharmaceutical purchases via the internet. I have severe hip and back issues and if it really worked, I would definitely give it a try. The expense of a product that we really don’t know all the facts leaves me cautious. Thanks again for the information.
Tracie, thanks I appreciate you taking the time to write. I do hope you feel better.
Joe, Read all comments and your very even handed responses. It seems to me that Rock Creek spends way more on marketing than research. It is also interesting that no company spokesperson has responded to your fairly and justly raised queries.
So, I am in for the free trial and will add my “results” to the discussion. If it works, cool. If not, $4.95 is not much more than adding anchovies to my favorite NY style pizza!
David E, thanks I do hope it helps you and thanks for keeping me posted. I’d be interested to know also marketing vs research expenses.
I hope if they reformulate Anatabloc they consider the Vitamin A level they use. The NEW recommended dosages of Anatabloc will result in a larger person ingesting the RDA of vitamin A just by using Anatabloc.
I have a supply of Multivitamins that provide the RDA of Vitamin A so now I’m getting twice the RDA of Vitamin A plus what I get from food!
I am less concerned about the sucralose in Anatabloc, than I am about the parabens. I buy only paraben-free personal care products because of their link to cancer, so I don’t understand why the makers of Anatabloc use parabens in their product.
What do you think, Joe?
By the way, I read a commenter on another blog called the makers of Anatabloc to complain about some of these questionable ingredients, and she was told that they are indeed planning on reformulating their product (sometime in 2013) to eliminate some of these less desirable ingredients. This is anecdotal obviously, but I’d prefer that they ditch the parabens.
And I appreciate that you stick to the science/facts and are not influenced by press releases and marketing tactics. Keep it up!
Jane, this is the first I’m hearing about the parabens in Anatabloc. Parabens do have a week acting estrogen effect and there is some speculation that they may be linked to breast cancer. Im not an expert on this so its hard for me to know how much of an issue this is but Id agree that until we known more minimizing parabens might be a good idea (good luck because they are in a LOT of products).
For those who have not heard of this here is the parabens Wikipedia page.
