Update 5/16/20. What is Vemma? Is Vemma really the “Worlds Most Powerful liquid Antioxidant” or is Vemma a scam? These are some of the questions I've been asked lately, so I decided to do a Vemma review. When I went to the Vemma nutrition website, I discovered that Vemma is more than a supplement company. The company also has a multi-level marketing aspect to it, where people can have their own Vemma vitamin drink business and sell products to others. Other supplements I've reviewed previously that have a multilevel marketing business part include Shakeology, TriVita, and Juice Plus. Let’s leave the MLM part alone and just focus on Vemma itself. The CEO of Vemma says that it is “physician formulated” and “blends Eastern and Western Philosophies” and that Vemma contains “plant-based mysterious elements like OPCs and EGCGs. Currently, Vemma offers 6 different supplements but their flagship product is just called “Vemma”. What I want to do here is review science behind Vemma and see what we can discover.
Also, see the review of Vemma Bode Meal Replacement Shake.
Who Makes Vemma?
The supplement is a product of Vemma Nutrition Company. The address for the company is 8322 East Hartford Drive Scottsdale, AZ 85255. A check of Google Images shows that this address leads to a rather large building that says “Vemma” on the outside.
On the science page of Vemma.com, it's mentioned that the company“owns, operates, and oversees” the facility that makes the supplement. That's good. The facility is located in Tempe Az. So this is a USA-made supplement. That's good too.
Most supplement companies appear, to me, to exist only on paper, outsourcing the production and distribution of their products to 3rd party entities. So, to me, it's rare to see a company that makes its own stuff.
There is also another Vemma location that appears to be dedicated to its energy drink, called Verve. The address for that building is 3732 Virginia Beach Blvd Virginia Beach, VA 23452.
According to the Better Business Bureau, the company has been in business since 2007. See the BBB file for updates and more information.
Vemma Research
In a video on the product's website -vemma.com – the CEO of Vemma says he has put “hundreds of thousands of dollars into clinical science to prove what Vemma can do for you and your family.” Two studies posted on their science page. These studies are:
Journal of Medicinal Food. Study name: Effect of a Mangosteen Dietary Supplement on Human Immune Function: A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Trial. This study involved 59 people
and
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry. Study name: Bioavailability and Antioxidant Effects of a Xanthone-Rich Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana) Product in Humans. This study involved 20 people.
Looking over the studies I noticed that:
1. Both of these studies are published in health journals in 2009 and are peer-reviewed. That’s good.
2. Both studies involved humans, which is also good.
3. One of the studies notes that Vemma:
- increased T helper cells (an immune system cell) and other aspects of immunity
- reduced CRP levels (a marker for cellular inflammation)
- improved overall feelings of health
Study Summary
Of these two studies, one basically says that the ingredients in Vemma can be absorbed by the body and the other finds the supplement can help the immune system, lower inflammation and help us feel better.
So, while that's less proof than I'd like, it's good when a company helps support research on its own products because this is rare. I look forward to other Vemma studies.
Vemma Ingredients
So, the supplement has a lot of vitamins and minerals. While that's good, you'd also find those in many other health drinks so I won’t review them all here because I have written about many of them in other posts (Tip: use the search box on this site to find out more about the vitamins).
Vemma has 1000 IUs of vitamin D. I usually recommend people to get their vitamin D levels checked because low levels appear to increase the risk of various health problems. The RDA for vitamin D was recently increased to 600IUs.
I noticed that Vemma only contained one type of vitamin E – alpha-tocopherol. There are 8 different types of vitamin E. Alpha-tocopherol is the most common in the body. The other types of vitamin E are also anti-oxidants. To be fair, most supplements also only contain alpha-tocopherol.
The main ingredients in Vemma vitamin drinks are said to be:
- Mangosteen
- Aloe Vera
- Green tea
All 3 of these ingredients ads up to 25.2 grams (that’s a little less than 1 ounce)
Let’s look at the research on each separately
Mangosteen
I believe mangosteen (scientific name Garcinia mangostana) is the main active ingredient in Vemma because mangosteen is mentioned in the title of both of the Vemma studies conducted so far. Mangosteen is sometimes marketed in other products as Xango Juice.
Mangosteen does have some antioxidant effects. We, humans, make antioxidants naturally and they are in fruits and vegetables as well as “superfoods” like mangosteen. That said, I should mention that there is no good proof that mangosteen is a better antioxidant than what you would find in other fruits. Mangosteen is a different kind of fruit and as such can be a part of a healthy diet, but whether its better than other fruits, I don't think so.
In this review of mangosteen juice ads, the researcher compares the supplement ads to the clinical research. It's an interesting read for those who are interested.
Aloe Vera
Aloe vera appears to have antioxidant and antibacterial properties. There is also some evidence that parts of aloe vera may have an effect on lowering insulin levels and weight loss. Other studies appear to show that aloe vera may help lower cholesterol and LDL levels as well as hemoglobin A1C levels (a marker for diabetes progression).
These studies are not on Vemma but on other aloe vera preparations, some of which may not be available to the public.
Studies showing positive effects do not use much, only about a half an ounce per day. This is important to keep in mind, given that aloe vera can be a laxative. I have no proof that one brand is better than another.
Here is a brand of aloe juice on Amazon that has several positive reviews.
Green Tea
Green tea gets a lot of attention from researchers. There is research showing that green tea may help various forms of cancer, Alzheimer's disease, and even weight loss and heart disease. Does that mean Vemma might do some of these things too? This is currently unknown.
While it's the EGCG in green tea that often gets a lot of attention, it's important to remember that there is a lot of other things in green tea that may have beneficial effects. As such, it's good to drink tea as opposed to individual green tea ingredients that appear “sexy” to researchers.
The green tea used in Vemma is decaffeinated so it should not keep anyone awake at night.
Vemma Side Effects
The supplement has been around a long time and is likely ok in most healthy people. If your not healthy here are some things to consider.
- Start with less than recommended for the first week
- Stop taking at least 2 weeks before having surgery
- talk to your doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding
As far as I can see, very little human research has been conducted on mangosteen. Most mangosteen research is basically performed on isolated cells in a test tube or lab animals. When eaten as food, it is likely safe for most people. As for mangosteen supplements, side effects will probably vary by the health of the person, medications they take, and how much mangosteen the supplement contains.
Mangosteen may have a blood thinner effect due to its effect on the enzyme cyclooxygenase which does many things – including playing a role in blood clotting. This may be an issue for people who take blood thinner medications.
There is a report of a man who became sick using a mangosteen supplement every day for a year. The mangosteen supplement appeared to alter the acidity of the body, causing the man to vomit, have abdominal pain, and have rapid breathing. These are symptoms of a condition called lactic acidosis.
This doesn't mean Vemma will do the same thing. It probably won’t but it’s worth pointing out just in case anyone else experiences these symptoms with other mangosteen products.
- Some cancer therapies – like radiation therapy – kill cancer cells because they create free radicals. This is a good use of free radicals. Since antioxidants neutralize free radicals, would antioxidant supplements be bad for someone getting treated for cancer? This is a very BIG– and important – question that people must discuss with their doctor. This is true for all supplements.
- The question about mangosteen and cancer treatment has also been addressed by others, so do take this caution seriously if you have cancer. Given the complexity of cancer and cancer therapies, the decision to use antioxidant supplements is best decided by an oncologist who knows about these sorts of things.
- Aloe vera may be a blood thinner. Speak to your doctor if you take blood thinner meds. Aloe vera might also lower blood sugar so be careful if you are a diabetic. There is not much proof on either of these side effects but be aware of them just in case.
As is listed on the Vemma FAQ sheet, the supplement contains a little lithium. This may be due to its natural occurrence in the food. Lithium is sometimes used by doctors to treat manic depression. I'm sure Vemma only has a little lithium but I wonder if this might be a problem in people who were taking lithium or other anti-depressants? What about supplements that might have similar effects ? When in doubt, ask your doctor about this for more information.
There are isolated case reports of lithium supplement toxicity. Some research finds lithium may cause the heart to beat irregularly. Would Vemma do this? I don't know.
Vemma also has a little Vanadium. Vanadium (as vanadyl sulfate) used to be popular among weight lifters until they figured out it didn’t work for them. Vanadium may lower blood sugar levels which means it might interact with diabetes medications.
How Much Does Vemma Cost?
A bottle sells for about $30. By the time you read this, the price may be different so check for yourself.
Here's Vemma on Amazon too.
Vemma And The FTC
In August 2015 the Federal Trade Commission took action against Vemma alleging that the company was basically a Pyramid Scheme. The FTC alleged that Vemma specifically marketed itself to college students and other young adults with the prospect of getting rich selling Vemma supplements. In 2019 the company agreed to refund 2 million to affiliates who lost money on the supplement
Does Vemma Work?
While I like that there are a couple of studies on Vemma, right now, the research isn't where I'd like it to be. There is some interesting research on mangosteen, but most of what I see involves test tubes or lab animal research. As such, I'm not sure if Vemma is better than other mangosteen products. I hear that new Vemma research is in the works and I will add those studies to this review as I become aware of them. For now, I'm on the fence as to whether Vemma promotes health any better than just eating more “regular” fruits and vegetables. See the review of the Vemma Bode Meal Replacement Shake.
What do you think?
Jim says
For those of you with diarrhea, how much Vemma are you taking? The recommended is 2oz a day to start, then 1oz a day for maintenance.
Regarding the lithium, that surprised me. I did do some research, Vemma is really trying for full disclosure here. They have a long list of minerals that can be found in Vemma due to the minerals being sourced from natural vegetation.
Here’s the quote (from http://www.vemma.com/vemma/faq.cfm#14):
“The Vemma formula contains over 65 major, trace and ultra-trace minerals. Because we source our minerals from naturally occurring vegetation, the level of individual minerals may vary slightly from batch to batch. The Vemma formula proprietary mineral blend contains the following minerals:
Carbon (Organic), Calcium, Sodium, Sulfur, Magnesium, Chloride, Bromide, Fluorine, Iodine, Potassium, Niobium, Aluminum, Iron, Phosphorus, Silica, Manganese, Boron, Strontium, Titanium, Tungsten, Copper, Zinc, Tin, Zirconium, Molybdenum, Vanadium, Chromium, Selenium, Nickel, Cobalt, Lithium, Gallium, Barium, Yttrium, Neodymium, Hafnium, Cadmium, Thorium, Antimony, Cerium, Tellurium, Beryllium, Samarium, Dysprosium, Erbium, Bismuth, Gadolinium, Cesium, Lanthanum, Praseodymium, Europium, Lutetium, Terbium, Ytterbium, Holmium, Thallium, Thulium, Tantalum, Germanium, Gold, Platinum, Rhodium, Rubidium, Ruthenium, Scandium, Silver and Indium.”
(end quote)
So do understand that these are TRACE and ULTRA-TRACE minerals. I mean, GOLD is on that list. Platinum and silver, too. So to re-emphasize, it’s not like your shot of Vemma includes 100mg of Lithium.
Heck it can’t contain too much lithium. The people I’ve seen promoting this stuff are anything but subdued. lol
Joe says
Jim, I also would comment Vemma on their full disclosure of ingredients. Their website does give a LOT of information, which I appreciated.
Amanda Thomas says
I was concerned when I first read that lithium was in the Vemma. Just did a little research and this is what I came up with …
“Lithium is a metal found in the soil and used medically in the treatment of manic depressive disorders. Scientists are uncertain whether the mineral is a required nutrient or whether a lithium deficiency can lead to mood disorders.”
I think the important thing is that it is only toxic when it is given as a prescribed medicine.
It can be in some soils that our good grows in anyway.
It sounds like it is debatable whether it is needed to prevent mood disorders.
Hope that helps …
Joe says
Amanda, Vemma probably has little lithium but what might happen if people drank more than the recommended amount of Vemma over a prolonged period of time? I dont know. It might not do anything for all I know. I mentioned lithium because I feel those who do take andi-depressants should talk to their doctor about this.
Do you know how much lithium is in a serving of Vemma?

I have also experienced diarrhea

I just started taking Vemma and have felt so nauseated. I have also had diarrhea. Is this something others have experienced. Maybe this product just isn’t right for me. It’s strange that I would have such a strong reaction to fruit juice. There must be something else in the blend that is upsetting my system.
Kari A says
My husband used to get bronchitis all the time (like 6-8 times a year for the last 5 years). It would just barely go away before it would occur again. He started taking Vemma about 9 months ago and he hasn’t been sick at all! Nothing else in his life has changed other than taking Vemma. He also gets blood work done every 3 months for pre-diabetes, and hasn’t had any negative effects in his blood work. I would recommend the product!
Joe says
Thanks for your words Kari. much appreciated 🙂
Amanda Thomas says
We have just become brand partners for Vemma so am glad to read all your comments here. Can you clarify about the lithium as there was some confusion there in the debate?
Good to bear in mind about the blood thinning properties of Vemma & blood sugar lowering of the product. It’s important for people “selling” to take intO consideration your client’s medical history.
Thanks for all the info.
Joe says
Ananda, they say the lithium is in the “mineral blend.” I’m not sure how much lithium it has. I’m sure its not a lot. Other than that I don’t think I can add anything.
ErikaM says
I was recently asked by a friend to give the Vemma products a try (the 59 mL dietary supplement and Verve!). Naturally, I was skeptical of these new dietary products so I have been trying to find reputable clinical trials and have read the one you mentioned (Bio-availability and antioxidant effects) which discusses the 59 mL supplement but I haven’t come across any information concerning Verve! have you?
As well, there are many limitations to the two studies that have been conducted so they aren’t very useful in diminishing my concerns of trying these products.
I am still unsure of the safety of this product and will not consider promoting something unless I truly believe in its abilities…
Joe says
ErikaM, I am not aware of any research on Verve. I haven’t looked at it yet though. If you ever come across any please do let me know.
Nancy says
My husband and I toured the Vemma factory in Arizona two weeks ago, they are getting ready to do scientific research on Verve formula.
Joe says
Nancy, terrific! Thanks for that 🙂
linda says
Verve has been out for a couple years and they’re now going to do a study?

Someone sold this drink to my 7Oyr old dad as a “healthy vitamin supplement” & quite frankly I am furious. The sales person failed to discuss any of the added ingredients. Nor ask questions about my parents health. My mother had a serious allergic reaction to this so called health drink, her tongue lips & face swelled! She has a sulfur allergy so lam guessing it Might have been the vanadium or one of the other numerous additives.
My Dad has a poor understanding of nutrition & believed in good faith the “authoritative” Salesperson. my mother also has a very complicated medical history & is on several drugs that will interact with the contents of this “health drink”. She also has severe ulcerative colitis. So any blood thinning products are not appropriate.
The ingredients list on the bottle is in such Fine Print my parents were unable to read them. There is no scientific evidence to support the claims Made by this company. I certainly wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone & l will be investigating how to make a formal complaint about the product & the company marketing strategies.
Joe says
Anonymous, so sorry your mom had those side effects! Here is info on how you can file a Vemma complaint with the FDA
http://supplementclarity.com/supplement-questions/ Its the 2nd question in the list. You can also Tweet the FDA about this and they should get back to you.

The entire product line has been submitted to a bio-medical research facility. Any and all components of the products, including lithium, will be examined, analyzed, recorded, and documented. If there is any research that is discovered that has not been corroborated by Vemma’s “Scientific Research” then appropriate measures, not limited to legal action, will be imposed. The claims of “Scientific research” can not be deemed solely through subject observational studies. In other words, you can not have some one drink it and use the observed results to make health claims. This examination will delve in to the micro-details and physiological reactions to the cocktail of chemicals in this product line. It is highly recommended for you to reexamine the entire product line and provide an in depth analysis of the products and make those result public. Making health claims without FDA approval isn’t necessarily building a solid base in terms of legal repercussions.

Sandy says
My mom was on Vemma a few years ago. She swore up and down that it was the best thing ever. Then she started having pain in her feet. The doctors were convinced she was diabetic and put her on medication while they were running the tests to confirm. When she ended up testing negative for diabetes, they ran a multitude of other tests trying to figure out what was causing her pain.
Turns out that her B6 and B12 levels were through the roof – to the point that they were toxic to her system and caused peripheral neuropathy. Since she hadn’t changed anything except taking the Vemma, there was no other logical explanation.
She stopped taking the Vemma immediately, but it took months for her levels to return to normal. Years later, she still has issues. Until there are some independent studies done (not those that are paid for and conducted by the company itself) showing the effects/side effects of this product, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
Joe says
Sandy, thanks for sharing. Yes, too much vitamin B6 can cause those issues.
Dorian says
I am pretty sure vemma’s studies are independent 3rd party studies and conducted with a company in the US, Brunswick Ladortories. This means the results would be non bias, Right?
Joe says
Dorian, its possible. As long as the company has no influence on how the study was conducted or the outcomes, I’m fine with it. Usually studies list whether any conflicts of interest existed or not.
Paula Perry says
i do not see lithium listed as an ingredient.
i wish that ppl would research diet on their own and you would find that organic fresh fruits and vegetables are the best. all the vitamins and minerals your body needs is in food. green tea is sold everywhere. natural is always best, just like mothers milk is better for baby than formula. the problem is too many ppl just follow what they are told as i use to do. 🙂
Joe says
Paula, correct lithium is not an ingredient in Vemma. I do agree with fresh fruits and veggies 🙂
ED says
You just agreed in the comment above that lithium is an ingredient.
Joe says
ED, yes I double checked, Lithium is in Vemma. Im guessing it doesn’t have a lot of it.
Joe says
Hi Carri, I appreciate your passion for Vemma and really glad to hear it’s helped you. I have screen shots of the vemma website where lithium is listed in the ingredients. The picture posted in my review shows lithium highlighted. That picture is from the product website. As I said, Im sure there is not a lot of lithium in it and it may be listed only because it occurs naturally? I’m not sure either way.
Joe says
Thanks Carri, let me know what you turn up.
Joe says
Carri, no problem Ill delete your last two comments. No worries 🙂
Christal says
Joe, just stumbled on your site. Thought I’d answer the reoccurring question about lithium. It’s naturally in the formula because it naturally occurs in the soils that the plants are grown in.
It is in trace forms, but because Vemma wants to be completely transparent, they list absolutely everything.
If we don’t want lithium in our systems, we shouldn’t eat any fruits or vegetables….they all contain trace lithium. 🙂
Hope this helps!
Joe says
Thanks Christal. It does 🙂
Paula Perry says
why is lithium in a health drink? that is a huge red flag. i don’t see why people just don’t eat healthy, veggies and fruit instead of using a supplement. there are all kinds of documentaries and so forth stating how important diet is for our health. (i wouldn’t listen to us government, not the best source). i didn’t always eat healthy but when i started i use REAL food. and why was the study done in china? i find that odd. maybe it is because they have a better diet than usa, so they are already healthier. usa spends more on healthcare than any other country yet we have the most illnesses. why? simple, there isn’t any money in healthy people. watch forks over knives and frankensteer.
Joe says
Paula, I checked their website and did not see lithium listed in the ingredients. did you see this somewhere?
Paula Perry says
yes, from you’re review: Vemma also has
Lithium. Lithium is sometimes used by doctors to treat manic depression. Why is lithium in a health drink? I’m sure Vemma only has a little lithium but I wonder if this might be a problem in people who were taking lithium or who had manic depression or taking other supplements that alter brain chemistry. Would lithium interact with other supplements like for example, DreamWater? I don’t know.
Joe says
Paula, you got me; I totally forgot I said that (so many supplements… so little time – and memory!). I have no idea why Lithium is in Vemma. It made no sense to me when I reviewed it and it still doesn’t.
Yes its possible lithium may interact with anti depressant meds and maybe other supplements that have antidepressant properties. If you take any of these id ask your pharmacist or doctor to see how they feel before trying Vemma.
linda says
I didnt know the study came out of china, that alone should cause concern for all.
justin says
the study didn’t persay come from china. the head person creating the ingredients for vemma is asian and mangosteen is native to asia i believe. but that’s it
Diane says
I have MS and read this might help. Your thoughts on this
Joe says
Diane, do you mean, do I think Vemma will help your MS? I’m not sure. I dont see any Vemma / MS research so its hard to say either way. Has somebody said Vemma would help your MS?
Adrienne says
Diane, I am a vemma brand partner and recently have an individual with MS that has started to take the product. With only trying the product for one week she said that she “just feels better”. Vemma has ingredients that help with inflammation which was what got her interested in trying it. She is about to start vemma for a full month and see how she feels after that. I would love to share any results or concerns she mentions after some more time on the product.
Joe says
Adrienne, I hope you will share the results of your customer with MS who is taking Vemma.
Adrienne says
I will. I will post after her first month on vemma
Coleen says
I have MS and have been on Vemma for 4 months now and feel much better. I now have more good days then bad days. The fatigue is not as bad. But when I do need a pick me up I take a vemma energy shot. Its just enough to get me throuhh the day!! I absolutely love this product. Its a bit costly but it makes me feel better its worth every cent. And I recently stop taking some of the pain meds and fatigue meds. I work full time and have 3 very active daughters. Would highly recommend this product.
Joe says
Thanks Colleen, glad its working for you 🙂

just started taking vemma (1week)…i really am surprisingly impressed. I actually have ADD and have been really trying to find alternatives to the serious pills that are normally used for treatment. I am a mom of a 2 and 4 yr old…and i have just had the hardest time with focus my entire life..including always being tired…even prior to “mommyhood”. I also have PCOS and very high risk pregnancies (lost my first child pre-term labor at 6months, most recently lost another child at 4.5 months due to no heartbeat).
We earnestly want to try again for a 3rd child but do to complications are very timid about doing so…my hope was to find something that could help my body “function” better. I dont really know exactly what is wrong..I really feel it is deficient …nutritionally…hormonally…anyway…really hoped to find some info regarding pregnancy and vemma.
As for taking while not prego…all i can say is…i really have sooo much more energy…motivation…feeling overalll very good…and I would even claim to have more focus….dont know if i can continue for to long due to price…trying to figure that part out..but it would be a shame, I feel if i cant continue. thanks…

I have been taking it for 6 months and just recently tried to go without because it is quite pricey. I am on my 4th day without it and all my aches and pains are back. My chronic neck pain is back. I play volleyball and my hitting shoulder is in pain again. And my knee is in pain. All the reasons i even started taking it are back. I guess this means that vemma does work but do i have to use it for the rest of my life?
i am a fairly healthy 37 year old woman. My body feels like it has been beat up since stopping the shots. I found this site because I am unsure whether I should continue to take it. Is it tricking my body somehow? Am I addicted to it? I have more questions than I have answers about this product.
I am looking back on when I initially started taking it and remember waking up from a dead sleep and my mind would race. Also for the first couple of weeks I felt like my mind was not clear. The best description was like when you have a cold and you take theraflu or something. a very weird feeling. I have never taken any meds. I occasionally take an aleve. I do not want to mess with my body. Is everything in the ingredients natural? Should I be concerned? Thanks for opening this forum. I would like to know other people’s experiences.
Joe says
MC, its possible Vemma reduced the inflammation that was helping to cause the pain you were having but as for the strange feelings you were having I’m not sure. Have you been to your doctor to see why you were having this pain? if not, I recommend you do so. I also will be interested in hearing what others say.
linda says
Try taking pure or concentrated cherry juice for inflation. I do and it helps so much for my neck pains and I dont get headaches either. Lot cheeper than vemma

I am looking into Vemma as I have started to hear more about it…. Just worried if there will be some long term negative effect that may come years down the road to users of the product. Any ideas?
Joe says
A.G. Based on whats in Vemma, I don’t think it would have any long term effects for healthy people esp if you only took it for a short time. Im just not convinced its better than conventional fruits in my opinion.
Anonymous says
but how many people get enough conventional fruits in their diets?
Joe says
Probably not too many get enough fruits or veggies in their diet, unfortunately.
Terry Eutsler says
Seems like buying enough fruits and veggies would be far less expensive and better for you than this product. Just saying.

I started taking Vemma about a month ago and have been very impressed. I am a mom of a 3 month old and a busy 4 yr old so my energy was pretty zapped, but since taking vemma my energy is through the roof (all points considered) my mood is great, and I even found the time and head space to start working out again.
I am so convinced of these positive effects that I have decided to become a brand partner. I am a cranio sacral therapist and often have wished for a company I could refer clients to.
I was happy to see your evaluation as I will bear your points in mind before I refer it to any one with those conditions.
Thank you!

I’m diabetic and have been taking Vemma for almost 2 months. After one week of use, I experienced low blood sugar which caught me off guard. I was advised to watch my levels because of this, but I forgot.
Good thing I was at work and had orange juice nearby. Now I’ve lowered my dose of the glyburide metformin pills I’ve been taking and am monitoring my blood sugars. I’ve also been feeling very good, like a sense of well-being that I hadn’t experienced in a long time.
I’m watching my diet more closely and exercising more. Vemma gave me that boost of confidence that I can regain my health again if I put forth effort to improve my eating habits, drink Vemma, and exercise.
My doctor is ok with me lowering the dosage of the glyburide. I’m so happy to be taking the Vemma supplement and reducing my diabetic meds.
Joe says
BrendaLee, Im curious, did you start exercising at the same time you started taking Vemma?
BrendaLee says
I was not exercising consistently prior to starting Vemma. My sense of well-being and the desire to become less dependent on diabetic prescriptions, increased with Vemma. Since my dosage was reduced due to the potent effect of Vemma (I believe it may be the aloe vera), THAT gave me hope. In turn I started exercising more. I also drink one Verve every morning after breakfast and the rest of the day I drink mostly water. I understand that Vemma and Verve isn’t for everyone.
But it certainly is the best product out there for me! I’m glad to have a medical doctor that can support me in my choices. He advises me to be cautious due to the interactions with my diabetic meds. He encourages me to lose weight, exercise consistently, and take Vemma if that’s what’s helping me control my blood sugar levels. I also have hypertension. I have not experienced any benefits of the product towards my hypertension. I continue taking my blood pressure meds as usual.
Lo Harry says
Again, what is it doing in a health drink? Lithium? Vanadium? And how much? I am 9 weeks pregnant and I’ve been trying to stay with organic and healthy diet.
One of my family members is on the MLM aspect of this product but gave me a month supply of this stuff and after reviewing the ingredients the lithium part I found would be most harmful in the development of my baby.
My doctor explain that traces can be found everywhere but since he didn’t know much was present he couldn’t recommend the products. And I couldn’t find that information either, how about you?
Joe says
Lo Harry, Im not sure either. have you contacted the company and asked them?

It says don’t drink if pregnant right on the bottle…
courtney says
then try the one for children its not it does not have that warning
tradconmom says
Yet, the children’s has the same trace mineral blend. So that must not be the reason for the warning…
tradconmomt says
I couldn’t find Lithium/Vanadium on the bottle….then I figured out it must be part of the “trace minerals”. Trace as in not much, right?
Joe says
tradconmomt, correct trace means not much is present.

I drink Vemma. It is a very good product. I noticed Catherine said the vitamins were left in the bottom. That is actually the pulp of the fruit and if you shake it you won’t see that settling. I’ve seen very good results.
Catherine says
I tried Vemma a few times and a found it tasty but was disappointed in the liquid Vemma products. I found about 15% of the vitamins at the bottom of the plastic container after drinking the shot (not getting the full vitamin supplement). I’d add a bit of water to the container to get the remaining vitamins. But was disappointed in the extra step.

Try shaking the bottle before drinking it. It’s not Vemma’s fault that you forgot to “shake well”
