Update 7/10/20. Plexus Slim is billed as an “affordable weight management product” that boasts “no ill side effects” based on “extensive clinical research.” Impressive, but does PlexusSlim work or is it a scam? And does it really have no side effects? I was tipped off to Plexus Slim by one of the readers of this website. After looking at its ingredients, I wanted to write a review of Plexus Slim because of the words used to describe the product and because Plexus Slim seemed to have ingredients that I have never heard of before. Let's see what we can discover about this weight loss drink. Also read my review of the Plexus Accelerator Plus (Accelerator +) and Plexus Boost, Plexus ProBio5 and Plexus Hunger Control after you read this, for additional information.
Update: The formula for Plexus Slim was changed a bit since this review was written so also read the review of the new plexus slim formula.
Who Makes Plexus Slim?
According to the Better Business Bureau, the company that makes Plexus Slim – Plexus Worldwide Inc. – was started in 2005 in Arizona. The address of the company is 7440 E. Karen Dr. #400, Scottsdale, AZ 85260.
Update. PlexusWorldWide.com, the company website, now lists this corporate address: 15649 N. Greenway Hayden Loop Scottsdale, AZ 85260. Googling this address shows a large building that says “Plexus Slim” on the outside. That's good.

Update. The Better Business Bureau now lists this address for the company: 9145 E Pima Center Pkwy Scottsdale, AZ 85258-4627
The BBB gives Plexus Slim a rating of “A+” See the BBB file for updates and other information.
To buy Plexus Slim it looks like you either have to buy it from the company or through a PlexusSlim distributor. They call Plexus Slim distributors “Ambassadors“. On the Plexus Slim website, they have a calendar of Plexus Slim events.
These events serve not only to sell Plexus Slim but also to recruit new Ambassadors. Plexus Slim has a multi-level marketing (MLM) aspect to it.
I have no problem with MLM. If the product is reputable, MLM allows people to make an income which can be significant.
Plexus Slim Nutrition Information
In an effort to keep this review up to date, here are the ingredients in Plexus Slim as they appeared in 2016. According to the label shown on the product website, each packet of Plexus Slim has the following nutrition information and ingredients:
Ingredient | Amount Per Serving | Percent Daily Value |
---|---|---|
Calories | 10 calories | |
Total Carbohydrdate | 3 grams | 1% DV |
Chromium Polynicotinate | 200 micrograms | 167% DV |
Plexus Slim Blend (composed of the following) | 530 mg | N/A |
Garcinia Cambogia Fruit Extract | ||
Green Coffee Bean Extract | ||
Alpha Lipoic Acid |
In the table above, N/A means no daily value established.
Each of the ingredients will be summarized below. I will leave in the summaries of the ingredients present in the original plexus slim formula too to help others doing their own research.
See the review of the new plexus slim formula too.
Plexus Slim Ingredients
Polydextrose
This is a type of soluble fiber. In theory, this might help weight loss since it has no calories and is a type of fiber. Polydextrose might cause gas and bloating.
Citric Acid
In some products, citric acid is used as a preservative and to enhance flavor. While it naturally occurs in citrus fruits, its use in foods/ supplements may be from natural or synthetic means.
Beet Root
If Plexus Slim uses the entire beetroot, the fiber content of the beetroot might help foster some weight loss because it adds bulk to the stomach contents. That said, I can't locate any evidence that beetroot helps people lose weight. The product label states the beetroot is to give the product color. Beets do have a red color. Beetroot probably contributes to the pink color of the product.
Beets and beetroot juice have gotten attention from the scientific community because of their ability to raise nitric oxide, a compound that can relax blood vessels, allowing blood to more easily travel through the body. See my review of SuperBeets for more on this topic.
Grape Skin Extract
Grape skin contains phytonutrients such as proanthocyanidins and proanthocyanidins which act as antioxidants. While this is very good, does grape skin extract help people lose weight? Other than having some fiber (which might act as a laxative) I can't find any proof that it does.
Update. I'm told Plexus Slim no longer contains grape skin extract
Lo Han Extract
The scientific name for this ingredient is Siraitia grosvenorii. This is also called “lou han guo” and “monk fruit.” By either name, it's often used as a sweetener. This ingredient, like steveia below, is likely added for flavoring.
Stevia
This is a sweetener. Some supplement companies may call it by another name -“rebaudioside A.”
Stevia is added to many low-calorie foods. In theory, using low calorie (or no-calorie) sweeteners might help weight loss but I'm not sure if this is the answer. There are MANY low-calorie foods and beverages on the US market, yet Americans are not slimmer than they were, say, in the 1980s.
Natural Flavors
They don't tell us what these natural flavors are. To be fair, most companies don't. They don't have to under the law. Regardless, I doubt any of them play a role in weight loss.
Green Coffee Bean
This is also called Chlorogenic Acid. One study published in 2010 noted that chlorogenic acid helped weight loss and increased fat burning when in rats that were fed a high-fat diet (37% of calories from fat).
This is interesting even though it's a rat study. Another rat study also noted that mulberries (which also contain chlorogenic acid) helped the weight loss. But was it the chlorogenic acid – or all the other stuff mulberries?
In one small study 16 overweight people were given either a placebo or different amounts of green coffee extract (which contains chlorogenic acid) at either 700 mg or 1050 mg day for 6 weeks (each person was given each treatment for 6 weeks).

People getting the green coffee extract (both dosage amounts) were shown to have significant reductions in body weight, body mass and percent body fat compared to placebo. The type of green coffee extract used in this study was supplied by Applied Food Sciences Inc.
Retracted
It sounds great BUT, the study has been “retracted.” This means it should not be considered as evidence due to errors with how the study was performed. In the words of the authors, the study was retracted because the authors could not “assure the validity of the data.” Click here to read the retraction.
See the Green Bean Coffee Review for more information.
See the weight loss supplement scam review.
Rosmarinic Acid
This is a plant chemical found in many herbs, including rosemary. This is probably where Rosmarinic Acid gets its name from. Rosmarinic acid has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. I was unable to find any studies showing that Rosmarinic Acid helps weight loss in humans or animals.
Hydroxycinnamic Acid
This compound is an antioxidant but whether or not it contributes to weight loss needs further study.
Garcinia Cambogia
This was originally called “Citrin K” when I first reviewed Plexus Slim. Garcinia cambogia is found in MANY weight loss supplements because of some research that it might reduce appetite and help weight loss. Right now, I think all anyone can say is maybe it works or maybe it doesn't work.
In this study, 500 mg of garcinia Cambogia did not help people lose weight. I mention this because if this study is correct, then it might take more than 500 mg of garcinia Cambogia if it's going to work. The entire proprietary blend in Plexus Slim adds up to 530 mg. While Garcinia Cambogia is the first ingredient listed – which presumably means it makes up the most of the blend – how much that equates to, I cannot say.
See the Garcinia Cambogia review
Also, read the review of supplements linked to liver failure.
Alpha-lipoic Acid
This is an antioxidant and it helps it turn carbs into energy. It can also help regenerate other antioxidants, which is pretty snazzy.
There are a few studies of alpha-lipoic acid and weight loss. In one study, alpha-lipoic acid was randomly given to 360 obese people for 20 weeks. Half got a placebo and half got alpha-lipoic acid (either 1200 mg/day or 1800 mg per day). Those getting alpha-lipoic acid lost more weight than those who got the placebo. Basically, people lose about 2% of their body mass.
In another study, 1127 overweight people were given 800 mg of alpha-lipoic acid a day for 4 months. This study noted that alpha-lipoic acid, at the dosage given, helped people lose about 8% of their body weight over 4 months.
So if you were 200 pounds, alpha lipoic acid might help you lose about 200 x .08 = 16 pounds. That is a significant amount in my book.
One possible problem with this study though was that it doesn't appear that there was a placebo group to compare the weight loss too. I was also unable to determine (because I only read the summary of the study) if people combined alpha-lipoic acid with eating fewer calories (I think they might have ).
Alpha-lipoic acid is the last ingredient listed in the proprietary blend. As such, it likely makes up the least of the 530 mg total.
Oxypregnane Steroidal Glycoside
This is a pretty fancy name but you have heard of this stuff before. Oxypregnane steroidal glycoside – is just a fancy way of saying Hoodia! Here is a study that proves that both names mean the same thing.
I think they call it Oxypregnane steroidal glycoside because they are trying to make the product sound different and special. In reality, it's just hoodia Gordonii.
The other fancy name for hoodia is P57AS3 – you have probably seen this listed in other supplements as “P57“.
I've already reviewed hoodia and weight loss. Other supplements that I've reviewed previously that contain hoodia include the
For at least 10 years, hoodia Gordonii has been in more weight loss supplements than you can shake a stick at – but there is no good proof that hoodia supplements help people lose weight.
Study. Researchers gave hoodia or a placebo to 50 overweight people for 2 weeks. The people in the study were allowed to eat as much as they wanted from a menu provided by the researchers. Results: hoodia did not cause any weight loss.
While no serious side effects were reported, researchers did note that people who got hoodia had higher blood pressures and heart rates compared to people who got the placebo. Hoodia also seems to cause elevations in bilirubin and alkaline phosphatase. What caused these changes I do not know.
Update. Plexus slim no longer contains hoodia. See my review on the New Plexus Slim Formula for more info on how it has changed.
Chromium Polynicotinate
Plexus slim contains a type of chromium they call “amino nicotinate”. This is fancy talk for “chromium nicotinate”. (it is now called “chromium polynicotinate on the label).
You may have heard Dr. Oz talk about chromium polynicotinate on TV. I reviewed what Dr Oz had to say about this form of chromium and I am guessing that this is why Plexus Slim includes chromium nicotinate over the sometimes more popular, chromium picolinate.
Chromium may help lower blood sugar levels but as for its effects on weight loss, I am highly skeptical. For more on chromium, see my reviews of chromium weight loss research and chromium polynicotinate.
Blood Sugar Lowering Ingredients
As a quick reference, the following ingredients might reduce blood sugar:
- Alpha-lipoic acid
- Chromium nicotinate (now called chromium polynicotinate)
Fiber Ingredients
As a quick reference, the following ingredients all might add fiber to Plexus Slim:
- Polydextrose
- Grape skin (no longer in plexus slim) See my review of the new PS formula.
- Hoodia (maybe. no longer in Plexus Slim)
How Much Does Plexus Slim Cost?
One of the slogans for Plexus Slim is “At last, an affordable weight management product.” I guess that depends on how you define “affordable”. On the Plexus Slim website, they have different prices depending on whether you want to buy it just once or be billed each month automatically.
If you want to buy Plexus Slim one time only, its $84.95. If you want to be billed automatically at the 15th of each month, Plexus Slim is $79.95/ month.
Is Plexus Slim OK When Breast-Feeding?
Some women have wondered if they can take Plexus Slim while they are breastfeeding? That's not something I would recommend because if any of the ingredients in Plexus Slim pass into breast milk, then their baby will be getting those ingredients too.
I don't know for sure if any of the ingredients do get absorbed into breast milk, so I do recommend that women take the ingredients in Plexus Slim to their doctor to see if they can get a better answer.
How Much Caffeine?
The Plexus Slim Nutrition label states that it has less than 2% of naturally occurring caffeine. My guess is that the caffeine comes from the green coffee bean extract because this statement is listed next to the green coffee bean ingredient on the label. I'm not sure how much 2% natural caffeine equals.
Plexus Slim and ADHD
Since writing this review I've heard that this product may be marketed to help Attention Deficient Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). A search on Google reveals several testimonials from people saying that it helps. I became curious and searched for “Plexus ADHD research.” I searched Google for this phrase and I also searched the National Library of Medicine too.
I saw no clinical studies on this topic. Therefore, whether it Plexus helps ADHD or not is unknown as far as I can tell. Nobody appears to have undertaken the chore of taking this stuff into the lab and actually tried to really see if it helps or not.
The same thing also seems to be true for bipolar disorder and depression. I cannot find any evidence Plexus Slim directly helps either of these conditions either.
Having said that, lack of evidence doesn't necessarily mean something does not work. Rather, it just means that it seems that, other than testimonials (from people most of us don't know), there doesn't seem to be any good proof for it yet.
How To Contact Plexus Slim
PlexusWorldWide lists this contact phone number: 480-998-3490 which people can call 6 AM-6 PM (PST) Monday -Friday and 9 AM-2 PM (PST) on Saturday.
How To Return Plexus Slim
Plexus Slim products come with a 60-day money-back guarantee. For those who purchased from Plexus Ambassadors, contact that person for details on how to return the product, or call the company itself at 480-998-3490.
Does Plexus Slim Have Any Side Effects?
On the Q and A page of the Plexus Slim website (question 7) where it's asked: “Will Plexus Slim interfere or react with any medications or other supplements?” the makers say: ” No. Extensive clinical research has demonstrated no ill side effects with any medications or other supplements.”
Where is all the “extensive clinical research” on Plexus Slim? As far as I can tell, Plexus Slim has NEVER been tested in published studies to see if it interacts with any medication or health condition.
The only study I've seen on Plexus Slim is a summary of a study they show on their website. This is a study from 2008 where they gave the product to 8 people with type II diabetes. Yes, improvements were seen in blood sugar, body weight and other things, but this is not a published, peer reviewed study. As such, there is a lot we are not told about how this study was conducted. It may be the best study in the world, but if we can't see how it was conducted, then it can't be duplicated by other scientists.
That said, in healthy people, I think Plexus Slim (the pink drink product) is safe. Below are some theoretical side effects based on its ingredients.
Grape skin. Some components of grape skin might interfere with medications such as Coumadin (a blood thinner). I'm not aware of any human evidence of this, but because blood thinners can intact with many things, its best to talk to a doctor about this. Update. grape skin is no longer in plexus slim
Chlorogenic acid. This compound might raise homocysteine levels in humans. Homocysteine is a somewhat controversial molecule because some feel it might be linked to heart disease.
See my review of chlorogenic acid for more info.
Citrin K/ Garcinia cambogia. There is some controversial evidence that Garcinia Cambogia may be linked to liver problems. Personally, I'm not yet convinced it does this. For more info on this see my review of garcinia Cambogia.
Alpha-lipoic acid. This ingredient appears to lower blood sugar. Because of this, alpha-lipoic acid might interfere with insulin and other diabetes medications. Alpha-lipoic acid seems to reduce thyroid hormone levels. This can be a problem for people who take Levothyroxin for hypothyroidism (low thyroid).
Hoodia. As I reported in my book on supplements hoodia Gordonii seems to share some chemical similarity to a class of heart drugs called cardiac glycosides. In fact, if you Google “Hoodia and cardiac glycosides.” I don’t know the clinical significance of this. That said, if you have heart or blood pressure issues please see your cardiologist before using any hoodia supplement, just to be safe.
Chromium may lower blood sugar levels. While this can be a good thing, it also means chromium might interact with blood-sugar-lowering medications. This might – in theory – make blood sugar levels to too low.
As a general, blanket statement, I would be cautious if you have any problems with your heart, blood pressure, kidneys, liver, mental disorders, diabetes or digestive problems. I would not recommend Plexus Slim if you had bariatric surgery either. To their credit, the makers of Plexus Slim do say to see your doctor first if you are pregnant. I agree with this.
The Plexus Slim Accelerator
Update: The Accelerator formula has changed significantly and the product is now called Plexus Accelerator Plus (Accelerator +). Do read my review of the Plexus Accelerator Plus for additional information on the new product.
This is another product sold on the Plexus Slim website. The word “accelerator” is a tip-off that this product is a stimulant.
The Plexus Slim Accelerator contains trace minerals, calcium, and magnesium from seaweed (both are useless for weight loss) and vitamin B6 (useless for weight loss). The accelerator also has a “proprietary blend” of:
- Dark Chocolate – won't help weight loss, unless it has caffeine
- Natural Caffeine – natural or not, it's caffeine!
- Green Tea Extract – probably has caffeine or EGCG
- Vanadium Chelate. This is the fancy name for Vanadium. It won't help weight loss.
- B-Phenylethylamine HCl – might act as a neuro-chemical. Avoid if you take antidepressants.
The Plexus Slim Accelerator also has an ingredient called GeranaX. GeranaX is a reference to geranium oil. Geranium oil is controversial in some circles because it is thought by some to be a natural source of a stimulant called Dimethylamylamineor “DMAA. ” It's scientific name is 1,3 Dimethylamylamine and its also called Methylhexaneamine.
The name “GeranaX” is a made-up word. In other words, the name GeranaX holds no scientific meaning.
Geranium has been the subject by scrutiny by the military, whose research finds that geranium does not contain DMAA. Oddly, the supplement 411 website still lists “geranium” as an alternative name for DMAA in its listings. Currently, it is controversial if geranium is a source of DMAA or not.
As of July 2013, the Australian government warned people about the Plexus Slim Accelerator because they say it had DMAA. This link goes to the Australian government website that discusses the Plexus Slim Accelerator and DMAA.
- In April of 2013, the FDA issued a warning letter about DMAA.
- Here is a New York Times article on DMAA for more information.
The ingredient DMAA seems to act like ephedra or bitter orange (synephrine) which are potent stimulants. As such, it may raise blood pressure and heart rate to dangerous levels. Here is a case report of a 21-year-old man who suffered a stroke after taking 2 DMAA pills.
This does not mean plexus slim will do this. It would depend on whether DMAA really is in geranium and also which part of the plant was used (root, stems ect).
Di methy amyl amine “looks” like amphetamines (“speed”). This may be why question 6 of the Plexus Slim Q and A page mentions that this ingredient may cause a positive result on a drug test for amphetamines. Here is a study showing that dimethylamylamine causes false positive drug tests for amphetamines.
Plexus Slim Bio-Cleanse
This is a laxative. Always remember, the word “cleanse” means laxative. The Plexus Slim Bio Cleanse supplement lives up to its laxative name because it contains magnesium, which is indeed a laxative. Remember “Milk of Magnesia.” Either way, laxatives don't cause any weight loss other than mostly water (and of course, poo). The Plexus Slim website lists 2 prices for this product – $29.95 or $39.95 -both of which are too pricey for me.
Plexus Boost
Here is my review of Plexus Boost. I cover a lot of information in this review and I also compare it to the ingredients in Accelerator Plus as well.
Plexus Slim Fast Relief
The Fast Relief product appears to be a pain relief formula that exists in both a cream and capsule form. One of the ingredients in Fast Relief is Lyprinol. This compound comes from the green-lipped mussel, hence the slogan “Full Body Relief, From the Sea-Naturally.” You may know this product by its other name – as Omega XL which is advertised on TV with Larry King.
For more information, see the review of Omega XL.
Will Plexus Slim Work?
Honestly, I'm not if it works because Plexus Slim – itself- has no published proof. If you read the comments below, you'll see some people do say it's helped them lose weight. If it works, is it because of the unique blend of ingredients in Plexus Slim or is it because of just a few key ingredients alone?
Here are Plexus Supplements on Amazon
Joe
I heard from a friend today that her doctor informed her that Yerma Mate, an ingredient in the new PS Accelerator has been linked o throat and mouth cancer. Have you ever heard, or read of this? I will continue to search for information, and keep informed.
Pete, yes Ive heard that people who drink yerba mate coffee have been associated with more cancer. Here’s one reference I found on pubmed http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22891687
“As of 3/8/14, the BBB gives Plexus Slim a rating of “B-” See the file for additional information.” It has A rating with 36 complaints right now …. Bit misleading.
Megan, There is nothing misleading about it. it was a B- when I looked on 3/8/14. That’s why I said “see the file for additional information.” BBB ratings sometimes change – and change dramatically. Since its impossible for me to keep up with when the BBB changes its ratings on companies, I link to the BBB file so you can see updates. I hope that clears things up.
It should also be noted that Plexus is not even accredited by the BBB. If I were an ambassador, as Megan most certainly is, I wouldn’t be touting that rating.
Michael
To my understanding, Plexusslim is accredited by the BBB, but Plexus Worldwide is not.
I entered a search for “Plexus Slim” and “plexusslim” and had zero results. Only the Worldwide company came back in their registry and they are not accredited. In order to be accredited, companies must pay the BBB, which we all know won’t happen with this or any other supplements company.
PS has an A rating but 36 complaints?
Hey, Michael
Here is general information I received from the BBB. In 2011 Plexusslim had an A+ rating with only one complaint. On 3/8/14, Plexusslim had a rating of B-, with 36 complaints. The BBB said that if a company obtains a B- rating they are no longer accredited until all issues are resolved. They are sort of kicked out of the club. It is not easy to get reinstated.
Yes, a company can get a rating without being a member, or paying dues, if there is enough information available, there usually is not, or it is not accurate. So the A rating given to Plexus Worldwide doesn’t mean a whole lot, since it is not an accredited company. Obviously, they don’t pay dues.
Two reasons why a company isn’t a member of the BBB. One, they choose not to be, and two, they don’t qualify for accreditation.
Just an FYI to those who are so obsessed with the BBB rating of Plexus Worldwide, as of today (5/2/2014) it has a rating of an A, with 36 complaints over 3 years time (pretty good for a business of its size), all but 3 were resolved; however, Plexus Worldwide made a good faith effort to resolve them. There were 11 reviews posted, 8 were positive and 3 were negative (the first one was just a bunch of jumbled wording). Please visit the BBB Site for yourselves. Plexus Worldwide is not as bad as some on here make it sound. (resource: http://www.bbb.org/central-northern-western-arizona/Business-Reviews/health-and-diet-products-retail/plexus-worldwide-inc-in-scottsdale-az-15006936).
In addition, Plexus Worldwide is always working to improve their products to meet their consumers needs and desires. They listen to what their consumers are saying and take that into consideration what they are happy with and what they are disappointed with. But, then again, most respected companies, of any kind, do the same in order to keep the clientele satisfied. I still recommend it to any and all.
Have a great day!!
M
BBB: The information is not updated. There are claims the BBB has ongoing with the company. Once those are settled, they will be accounted for. Nobody really knows how many outstanding claims their are.
“There were 11 reviews posted, 8 were positive and 3 were negative” – if you go and look at those 8 positive reviews, it is clear that they are ambassadors going in there and padding things. One even states that they are an ambassador. Additionally, those reviews are not filtered, meaning anyone can make them and further, they are not part of the BBB’s rating. Once again, I say don’t go touting the BBB rating of this company.
I just want to say, in regards to the breastfeeding section of this article, that no woman who is breastfeeding should be taking anything that suppresses her appetite. It’s estimated that a breastfeeding woman needs to consume more calories to produce breast milk.
As this product also contains a caffeine source with no discernible measurement attached, women who are breastfeeding should avoid this completely.
Very helpfull article. Have a friend selling this. Am tempted, but probably will not. Am on blood pressure med and am regulated. Don’t want to mess with that. Thank you.
I’m writing a review of Plexus ProBio 5. Can anyone take a picture of the label and email to me? I want to see exactly what’s in it and how much of everything is in it. Thanks!
A friend became an Ambassador in January and has pushed PS to many of my co-workers over the past 3 months. I was given a 5-day sample supply to see how I liked it … I know she was hoping that I would sign up under her in the MLM venture. Let me first say that I actually like the taste of the drink- I mean I really, really like it.
However, I felt absolutely miserable. I was bloated, felt lethargic, and could literally feel my heart beating inside my chest. After the third day, I started a full-blown menstrual cycle – the problem is that I am 49 years old and had been in menopause for nearly a year. Imagine my surprise! I stopped the Plexus Slim, and within 48 hours, ALL of the other ‘conditions’ had disappeared.
Was the Plexus the cause? I can’t say – however it was extremely coincidental that these things happened while I was taking the Plexus and stopped after I stopped drinking it. Too bad that I really like the taste of it…
I am very healthy, not overweight, eat a vegan diet, drink water only, exercise daily and I am an ER Nurse. I have never needed to use any weight loss supplement and am not a believer in vitamins since I eat such a healthy diet. However, my daughter had a big surgery 3 months ago and I have been pretty much a shut-in with her since. (She’s 8 and currently disabled, home from school while relearning to walk and regain her mobility)
I’m now back to work on Friday nights, 12hr shifts Saturday and Sunday (hubby is a truck driver and gone all week so we work opposite to care for her) So I do that all week and then spend all weekend in the ER.
I’m tired.
I can’t get to yoga. I can’t get to the gym. I can’t get out to run. My daughter needs full time care right now.
So, my friend has been posting on Facebook multiple times daily about her boundless energy, her increased sense of well being and blah blah blah. So the other night at work, I had a moment of down time between patients and in a moment of sleep deprived exhaustion, I ordered a 30 day supply of the pink drink and accelerator. It arrived today.
It tastes like crap and is obviously artificially colored. I haven’t ingested an artificial sweetener in years and I avoid artificial colors as much as possible. I juice everything and eat mostly raw. This tastes so offensive to me that I had to choke it down—and choke it down I did because I spent $114 on it.
It’s my first and last drink but I haven’t noticed any difference at all. I’m still tired. I’m still inappropriately hungry because I’m tired. And I can’t get the taste of this off of my tongue. Guess what? It turns out my friend is a PS Ambassador. Whodaguessed?? If I had any energy, I’d ask for a refund.
Kelley, it sounds like you are also emotionally tired. Hopefully your daughter recovers quickly and you can get back to your normal life, which I’m sure as an ER nurse, is no cake walk either.
Kelly
I have been exposed to ER nurses for many years, they have one of the hardest, most demanding, and critical jobs on the planet. I can only imagine that coupled with home life.
But, do yourself a favor, and ask for a refund. Do not let the company, or the person who sold you PS get by with just taking your money. A 30-day, or 60-day PS return goods policy sounds good, and is a great selling point. But, what good is it when about 70-80% of people in the MLM industry do not ask for a refund simply because of a suspected hassle. PS, and other MLM companies know this, and is nothing more than another money scheme for them. Think about it.
My advice, follow return policy procedure (call company, etc), and ask for a refund. May even want to contact your upline, but good luck with that one. If you don’t get your money back in a specified time, go online and report it to the BBB of Arizona, where PS is located. You will be surprised at how fast the company responds.
Good luck, Kelly.
Kelley, please get your refund. I had a bit of a time getting mine but I did not want them to keep my money for a product that made me sick. I had to call a couple of times, send a few e-mails AND write a real letter but I finally got my refund on my bank account. I was even told that it had been credited on a certain date but when I called my bank they said no credit had come in from them. After I called AGAIN with the bank info, I finally received my refund.
I use Plexius Slim and I am a diabetic. Plexius Slim is the only weight loss product that I have found that has helped me with my weight loss and believe me I have tried everything. It gave me more energy and it curbed my appetite and I feel alive when I am taking this medicine.
Granted not every diet will work for everybody but everybody is entitled to have their own opinion about any diet plans they have tried. I love Plexius Slim. It helps me lose fat, makes me feel better and I am very pleased with Plexius Slim. I recommend that U try it just to see Thank U for letting me voice my opinion
Susan,
That is great to hear. I’m so glad that you are finding success and satisfaction in the product. It is also the only that I have tried that has helped me accomplish my weight management. But, in addition to that, it has helped me in many ways, including: helped me to lose inches, drink more water, maintain and regulate my blood sugar, improved my blood pressure and helped with my pain management.
I am not an ambassador (which some people on here think that I am) and I’m not one to push a product on anyone, but I do promote and recommend this product to everyone that asks me how I’ve lost the weight and inches. One thing that I also suggest, to all that I tell about the product, is that they consult with their doctors before trying it.
Keep up the good work and congrats.

To Michael and Powens
This has been going on for some time, and I know Ambassadors
that have brought it to PS attention, but obviously nothing is ever seriously done to correct this situation. In my opinion, corporate knows this is happening, but just like the “false” product claims, and “false” income claims most have heard, they just turned their heads.
They are getting their bucks, at the expense of others, and that is all that matters. Bad situation for those Ambassadors that play by the rules. I know that wrongful product pricing is covered in the PS policies and procedures, but if not truly enforced, just words on paper.
I would get a group of participants together, write a letter of complaint to the company with signatures. I have no idea if pricing of PS can be fully controlled on the internet, unless you just complete eliminate it, or have a 0 tolerance policy.
Good luck to both.
Yes, someone probably got out of being an ambassador and had this left over in their stock pile OR there is a minimum set on the eBay site and it will not be sold until that minimum is met……the starting bid is $19.99 but the one bidder may not win the bid until other bidders bid and causes the bid price to reach the minimum bid that the seller is willing to sell the product for.

I find it interesting that you state, based on your experience as an ambassador, that the PS ambassadors are not trained in product knowledge and just repeat their upline. How true that is. As you know, these ambassadors are being trained to “recruit” others to “recruit, etc. They throw in a little product just to make it appear legal, and not a “pyramid scheme”.
At a former PS meeting the “sugar” issue was brought up, and I asked what was in PS that possibly helped to control the sugar. They looked at one another and shook their heads. In my opinion, if you sell a product that offers that benefit, you should a least know what ingredients are possibly responsible for it. Great training! UH?????
They actually told me their Plexus Pink “breast cream” was good for Rosacea. And, I was stupid enough to let them put it on my face, and I don’t even have Rosacea That is for real, folks!!! lol
A friend of mine got involved in PS early and is surprisingly doing pretty well. I believe at the Emerald level. They stated that they could not seem to go any higher. I told them that the market had to be saturated by now and that people were at a premium since recruitment is so important in the success of any distributor, and the MLM company.
She was told by her upline that there are plenty of people still available. When they told me this I had to laugh. Just a way to keep her hanging on. Point being, there are only so many people that are approachable in any market, and the fact there may be 100 people being serviced, or chased by 1000 ambassadors does not help.
I told her that every time someone is added to her level, or climbs above here in the organization, it makes it that much harder to advance. Simply, you run out of people to recruit, and the scheme starts to collapse. First for the distributor, then the company.
Hi! I’ve just come across your site and am so far quite pleased. I am a Holistic Life and Health Coach, with specialties in chronic pain relief and stress management. While I do not have a degree in a science field, I started college in chemical engineering and approach most things in a rather scientific way. When I hear of a new product that is helping people feel better, lose weight, reduce pain, regain sensation lost to diabetic neuropathy, etc., I start investigating. I regularly get propositioned to join various MLM/distributor type organizations.
I enjoyed your analysis of the Plexus Slim, and connected to every single link you posted (yes, I’m like that!) I chuckled at some of the statements about the sweeteners having no evidence of weight loss activity. It is true that sweeteners do not directly aid weight loss, and in so many cases work against. However, these particular sweeteners, Lo Han especially, are much lower on the glycemic index, so they don’t trigger the blood sugar swings of so many other sweeteners.
When these are combined with increased fiber intake, they will aid weight loss by avoiding the type of sugar swings and body stress that lead directly to increased fat storage by the body (its normal response to stress) and increased carbohydrate intake (our normal response to stress in order to fuel the body for fight or flight). This leads directly to weight gain, particularly the hard-to-lose weight gain.
I have found in my practice (working in this area since 2000), that keeping the blood sugar levels steady is the most effective way of controlling appetite, moving toward a healthy weight, reducing the various markers in the blood tests that give our doctors headaches and make them urge us to take meds and lose weight, and generally leads to feeling better, increased stamina, improved nervous system response to stress and sensation, and significantly reduce pain levels from arthritis, fibromyalgia, old injuries, neuropathy, and a wide range of other pain-causing issues.
So, yes, I agree with you that many of the ingredients are not tied to weight loss and there are no studies that show them as effective in weight loss. These are not weight loss ingredients. These affect the body in ways that make it possible to gain control over cravings brought on by blood sugar swings and stabilize our system, making the ALA and other true “weight loss” ingredients work that much better.
My issue with Plexus Slim isn’t the ingredients. I have more concerns about the type of hype and claims to scientific studies that are out of line with what is actually known. My research sources, as I’m sure are your’s, are not just the standard medical line, but a wide range of sources internationally studying everything from pharmaceuticals to vibrational medicine and indigenous remedies. It is keeping all my sources in mind that allow me to question every assumption I hear being made in the rather outlandish claims made by distributors, representatives and ambassadors for these various products.
Sincerely,
Paula Popper

Paula, Im glad you found my site and appreciate your insights on the sweetener lo han and its relatively low glycemic index. You did get me thinking about how much fiber is in Plexus Slim. I’m not sure. It would be an interesting experiment to measure blood sugars before, immediately after, and an hour or so after taking plexus slim. This would be a very easy study to do, for any enterprising college students reading this and looking for a topic to do a Thesis on (hint hint…) 🙂
I started taking the Slim/Accelerator Combo over 6 months ago. I’ve tried all of the other drinks/shakes/supplements, etc… you can think of. First off this does have it’s pro’s and con’s. The drink tastes decent and the pills are small enough to swallow. I do love the energy I seem to have from the drink. I do not have that afternoon crash, but maintain that energy all day. It’s not that bounce off the walls energy, but just that energy that keeps you going all day.
As long as I’ve been taking the product I have not had any significant weight loss. I’ve lost a couple of pounds and some inches, but nothing that I can say that attributes to this product directly.
I tried mixing up the times that I take the accelerator per the advice of an ambassador, but still no different results. The candida test was another big push they have. Well if the tests indicates an overgrowth of yeast in your body they want you to try additional products (ProBio 5, Cleanse and the X-Factor).
About 2 months ago, I ordered the ProBio5 and there has been no new weight loss or inches lost. I then talked to the Ambassador about my concerns. I’ve actually gained a few pounds, which is not what I wanted. I then got advised by the ambassador to try the cleanse product.
Supposedly this is the explanation that I received from the ambassador as to how the products work. The slim/accelerator combo helps with weight loss/energy, the ProBio5 helps your body getting rid of the yeast overgrowth which prevents you from losing weight/inches, then the Cleanse product is to help shed the dead yeast in your body.
If this is true, why does it take 4+ products to achieve weight loss results? I’m very skeptical about spending over $200.00/month to take 4 products that will supposedly help my lose the weight/inches. To me, it’s a gimmick to get you to buy more products, so how desperate are you to lose weight??? They constantly want to introduce another product that will supposedly help you lose weight.
When I let the ambassador know it’s not working for me after then wanting me to try 4+ products, they just give up and say “Sorry, it didn’t work for you”. I know it’s not their fault and no I’m not looking for a quick fix or something to magical to happen overnight without me putting forth the effort. I have changed my eating habits and been exercising. I don’t smoke, I don’t drink pop, I drink a lot of water as directed and try to walk/run at least 30 minutes every day.
All I can say about the product is that I do get that energy, but I’m at the point… Is it worth it???
Ell, for what its worth I dont think the cleanse supplement will work and here’s why: Cleanse = laxative. I make that statement because when I look at these products I see that they contain fiber, things that look like fiber or diuretics. The thing about laxatives (cleanses) is that they work in the colon (where the poop is) but they do not work at the small intestine (where we absorb calories). So while the scale may go down after taking cleanse supplements, the weight loss is mostly “#2” and water.
Typically, yes, cleanse = laxatives. There are alternatives that deal with the liver, the kidneys, etc., that cleanse or detoxify those systems. To get rid of yeast overgrowth, you must control what yeast feeds upon – sugars.
Taking any probiotic, such as in active yogurts, certain fermented foods, capsulized probiotics available in the vitamin shop around the corner, will help reduce the yeast and balance the bacteria load in your system, as long as you don’t keep feeding the “bad” yeast.
The real problem with the so-called bad yeast is that it has overgrown from its proper location and moves into other systems, with the resulting imbalance giving the symptoms associated with it. In many ways, our bodies are amazingly simple, as well as astoundingly complicated. They are simple in that most of the systems are self-correcting and work well when they are in balance and can handle many things coming through said system. They get particularly complicated when the balances are thrown off and not allowed to regain stasis.
So, when you are ill, your bacteria loads will shift, and you may get overgrowth, etc. But once you are over the illness, the body is designed to put itself back in order. However, with our common American diet and our tendency to seek the magic wand approach to issues like weight loss and bad habits, we feed the imbalance and the body cannot recover. The longer this continues, the harder to get back to stasis.
Certain things, like sugar levels, Vitamin D levels, and certain mineral profiles, can give a wonderful way to both evaluate the health of the primary systems of the body, as well as provide the route to re-balancing. Keeping sugar levels even, reducing our stress reactions by re-framing and understanding our triggers, taking adequate Vitamin D and minerals, all work together to keep the chemical-electrical-mechanical wonder that is our body in full working order.
The sugars affect the primary chemical communicators, aka hormones, that are responsible for triggering and moderating almost every system in the body. Vitamin D is foundational in both the creation of, and communication between, most of the hormones in the body. The minerals work primarily in the electrical communications processes, and with the structural basis of the body.
By focusing on these, without relying on specialty drinks and meal substitutes and difficult diets and heavy exercise, you can bring the body into a healthy state without the angst so many other systems create. Note, I said “heavy” exercise. The body needs to move, but we don’t need to jog miles per day and do hours of cardio to move to a healthy weight.
I’m getting very rambling and just shy of ranting, so I’ll stop now.
Comment to Ell.
As a recent former PS ambassador and person that has has many interactions with a large majority of ambassadors from several countries, I must advise you that these ambassadors do not know what they are talking about regarding health questions.
The company does not provide any type of training or have any database for anyone to access to look up how the products work, how each products interacts with one another, and what results happen given any different situation. Ambassadors just regurgitate information they are given by another ambassador somewhere down the line.
Many people have gained weight and have been told to try all the products. They don’t work, but they do put money in the ambassadors products. Don’t forget about the 60 day money back guarantee.. USE it.
Thanks carriesterma! It just doesn’t make sense to me why I should have to buy 4-5 products just to do what they claim it will. They always want to solve the problem by introducing another product to try along with the others. Why would I want to purchase over $200.00/month in products when it’s clearly not working for me???
I totally agree that with them trying to get me to buy more products that they are only interested in increasing their monthly payout they receive. Thanks for pointing that out!
I think I’m done with the whole set of products associated with PS. It’s great for those that it worked for, but it just wasn’t for me. I’m not a fan of having to take so many pills per day. As mentioned throughout these postings, I’m sure it’s not good for my body over the course of time either!
Glad I found this site. I had been on the fence about it all, but I think I’m doing the right thing by not taking the products anymore and just get my refund.
You stated in your comments on Plexus Slim that you would not recommend it for those who have had gastric bypass. Could you explain why? I have had gastric bypass and I have reactive hypoglycemia as a result of that surgery. The evening out of blood sugars is what steeped my interest in Plexus as well as the weight control. I am 8 1/2 years out and have gained back 30 pounds. I struggle with my reactive hypoglycemia all the time even when I am diligent with carbs.
Looking forward to your response.
Deb, People who have had gastric bypass surgery often are very limited in the calories they can eat at a time. Because of that, theoretically anything that limits calories might cause nutritional deficiencies.
Thank you Joe. I understand that. I’m always looking for healthy snack alternatives since I have to snack on something protein laden every few hours to keep my blood sugar levels from crashing. Thank you again for your response!
Deb,
Check with your doctor, he/she is the only person that will know if it is okay for you to use Plexus Slim or the Accelerator. Not anyone on this site can answer that for you.
M
Deb, I agree with Melinda. Show your doctor and pharmacist the list of ingredients. Print them up from my review. They can decide then.
Thank you!
After a lengthy discussion with my husband and a dear friend of ours I have come to the ultimate conclusion that this blog is no place for me to be. I came here with the intention of allowing all of the readers and you, Joe, see what and how this product is working for me. After years of failed attempts and failed products and yes FAILED clean eating and exercise regimens, I no longer trusted that anything would work for me. I had accepted my fate to be fat and ill for the rest of my natural life however short that may be.
I was equally skeptical when I was introduced to Plexus. But, I was impressed enough by the information I had found and a friends’ assessment to jump in before even trying the product. I signed up to be an ambassador before I even tasted the drink! I promised my husband that I was going to sell it so I could earn the money to pay for the product and that’s what I did. I also promised him that if it did not work I would quit. That was in January. I set it up like a clinical trial recording every little thing and I shared that information here. Every time I do, I’m told that I’m wrong or that it’s not Plexus. So, it’s become clear that you don’t want to know if it actually works. You are set in your opinions and nothing is going to change that.
Joe, I respect that you have degrees and have written books about this subject but, I have to say I trust the word of my friend, the scientist, over yours. You can’t accurately judge a product without having tried it yourself. Facts and figures about ingredients won’t tell you how they interact together. I told my friend how you abhor testimonials and continually emphasize the lack of clinical trials. His response? “The only difference between a clinical trial and a testimonial is who’s recording the information.” “Trials for products of this nature take weeks and even months to complete.
We don’t have people living in the lab for that amount of time. They either come in to have the product administered or they take it home and administer it themselves. They come back in and get weighed, measured and blood tested if necessary. All things that can be done outside of a lab, with exception to the blood work which still requires a doctor, and still produce the same results.” This was his explanation, not mine. Since he actually works at the University Research Lab, I’m sure his description is accurate.
Regardless, I resent the fact that I am continually being told that I am brainwashed or I don’t know what I’m talking about. Okay, I got the Hoodia thing wrong big deal. You called me on that and that’s fine but, don’t EVER tell me I don’t know my own ailments or my own body. On those issues there are only TWO experts and that is ME and MY DOCTOR.
I have never had fibromyalgia, I have no idea where the hell that came from. I never claimed that I had that. I said I had knee issues and that comes from two things and two things alone. My weight and injuries. I have Diabetes and I have had Diabetes for a long time and I have researched my condition thoroughly. BTW Joe check your list up there that you shared I’m pretty certain it says difficulty SPEAKING not difficulty SLEEPING.
That is something that I learned to do when I was diagnosed with PCOS years ago. My regular doctor had never even heard of it before because it wasn’t as common as it is today. So, I researched it and shared my findings with my regular doctor so I could obtain Metformin which is the only medication used to treat PCOS aside from birth control pills.
So PETE, don’t sit there and tell me that JOE is an expert on MY condition because No one Knows better than I do what MY symptoms are and what they aren’t. Just to be clear, I also called my Doctor to ask him and he said “I’ve never heard of low blood sugar causing a patient to suffer restlessness or insomnia. Excessively high blood sugar maybe but, not low blood sugar.” Since I know that my blood sugar was NOT excessively high during those two weeks, my blood sugar had nothing to do with my restlessness. Besides if it had it wouldn’t have stopped after I started moving around more, exercise alone does NOT lower blood sugar that significantly.
As for your question about Jolene, Joe? It’s really common sense. Plexus makes it quite clear that it works from the inside out. The more damage on the inside the longer its’ going to take to see physical results. She only gave it a week. If she had toughed it out, she would have started seeing results. I believe I made that pretty clear in my previous post as well.
On that note, I will leave you all to wallow in your hatred for a product you’ve never tried. Those of you who are considering Plexus and coming here for guidance, the only way to know if it works is to try it for yourself. No blog or article or testimonial can tell you if it will work for you. Those of you who have commented in support of my journey, it is appreciated but, I will not be posting any more updates here.
You can find me on Facebook at “Marion Plexus”. I post some updates there. I’ll do so more now. The world is a much more pleasant place when you put forth only positive energy. This place is far too negative. Remember what ever you send out you will get back. Blessings.
Kelly, Please believe me when I say I have no hatred for PS (or those who sell it) and I am very glad – really I am – that you are doing well with the product. I wish you nothing but continued success.
Kelly may no longer be on this blog but I wanted to clarify something and then I’m done! I only took the Plexus Slim for about a week because it made me uncomfortable and maybe could have sent me to the hospital because of the high blood pressure Hoodia issue. I had bloating, dizziness, no appetite at all, heart palpitations, etc. so sure I was willing to keep taking the stuff longer. Really? I had not had these things going on before because I do take care of my health and I know when by body is telling me good things and bad things.
My doctor said since they did not specifically say on the label that it was Hoodia most doctors and regular people would not know the name on the label was Hoodia. There were too many other things that adversely affected me in the product.
Until I read Joe’s information on what each ingredient was and did, I had no clue about any or them. By the way, I never ever took the Accelerator as Kelly thought I had. I don’t care either way if people like the stuff or not. Every person makes their own decisions for themselves. Only time will tell on these issues.
I just dislike the fact that if someone has issues with the product we are told we are wrong or did not take the product correctly, long enough, etc. Just deal with the fact that each person and their body chemistry is different and “one size does not fit all.”
Kelly,
Hooyah!! Great post!! All very true and I support every word. I too, am a Plexus success story, as are many of my friends (whom are not ambassadors). I am also leaving this negative BS behind. They must think that we are all ambassadors and that we are out to scam others, just because that’s what they did. They also claim to be experts or have experience in EVERYTHING (you name it, they know it), but I’m not sure that I’ve seen a title, such as Dr. or PhD, before or after their names. And you’re 100% correct when you suggest people try it for themselves.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, GREAT JOB ON YOUR SUCCESS!! That’s awesome, see you on Facebook!!
M
Melinda
Shame on Joe, he is nothing but a PS, MLM “dream stealer”!!! LOL Facebook is great, when you can spend time reading all the exciting and interesting posts from people just trying sell product, PS, or others. You get a lot of interaction that way, and learn a lot, certainly unlike this site. (sarcasm) So, you and Kelly have a great time on Facebook, but we know you are watching. By the way, hello.
By the way, you won’t sell much PS there either. Based on data.
Pete,
Nice comeback, but, (little did you know, assuming that you have experience in my life, as you claim to have experience in everything else, which you post about on here so often), I am NOT an ambassador, nor do I sell PS (so you’re way off base there). I’m just a satisfied customer, with amazing success in using PS, like others have that have posted on here, whom you have tried ruthlessly, without success, to discredit.
You fail to realize that not all of the people that have posted on here are ambassadors, some of them are individuals, such as myself, who have tried the product and have had success with it. If you go back and read all of the posts, some have become ambassadors to get the product cheaper, but you attack them too.
We have come to this site for reviews and opinions of the product, not the MLM business portion if it and certainly not to be bashed by haters like you. Your experience, your opinion, my experience, my opinion. But I don’t downgrade those who don’t agree with me. That’s just plain mean.
And….you want to talk about spending time on Facebook reading posts, well take a look in the mirror, because from all of the time you spend on here, it makes me wonder how much time you have on your hands. I personally have a real job, so I can’t live on this post, like you seem to do. Sorry you were so unsuccessful with your business(es) but that is not the fault of the product.
I don’t know what your deal is, but I feel sorry for individuals such as you. And, unfortunately, it is true when they say misery loves company.
Good luck with your next business venture Pete.
Congrats to all who have had success with PS and keep up the good work. Your own personal satisfaction will outweigh any negative comments posted on here. Don’t let anyone convince you otherwise.

Take me to the woodshed! Wow! I think you, like most, are confusing me personally being against PS. Here it is again, I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST PS OTHER THAN IT BEING VERY OVERPRICED AND UNNECESSARY PRODUCT. I personally believe diet and exercise are the way to go for long-term weight control. Spending YOUR money for what ever is your business.
However, I have a “big” problem with the way PS is marketed, and my goal is to help people understand that MLM is in a lot of ways good, but as it mostly stands today, it is purely deceptive in causing huge financial loses to millions of people. (billions of $)
I believe you said you were a “Preferred PS Customer”. To my understanding you do not pay the annual registration fee which disqualifies you for commissions,, but you still are on auto-ship, and required to buy a certain amount of PS products to continue to get your discount. What??? And, PS hits your credit card for the amounts each month. You may THINK you are getting a discount, but you are still paying for a ridiculous over-priced product.
Where do you think that money goes that you pay each month. I’ll tell ya,, it goes to pay the person that signed you up as a preferred customer, and the people above them. Just in case you are wondering why the price of PS products are so high. M, you have fallen for the PS MLM trap, and are you denying the fact that you are being hassle frequently by the ambassadors trying to recruit you as such.? If the discounted price is worth that hassle then I applaud you.
As far as personally, 33 yrs in an industry that would swallow you up and spit you out is hardly an indication of not being successful. I don’t claim to be anything but a former marketing and sales person with experiences in the sciences. As mentioned, I am also a strong advocate against MLM as it is performed today. Things will be changing my friend and I am proud to have been a part of that change.
PS has their own web-sites. Why not go to those sites where people most likely will agree with you. That is what you are looking for. You won’t get that here because this site offers people the opportunity to disagree. That’ what makes Supplement Geek unique. Proud to be a part of it!!
Joe
This may seem like off subject, but really is VERY important to the future of PS, and the rest of the MLM industry. As Robert Fitzpatrick, Consumer Awareness states, “this one decision could seal the fate of MLM in the future. The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) is investigating Herbalife as to operating as a “pyramid scheme”.
Dear Pyramid Scheme Alert Supporters and Colleagues,
On March 12, the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced that it has officially opened an investigation of one of the oldest and largest of MLMs, Herbalife. The investigation announcement marks the first FTC public investigation of a major MLM since 1975! Something new is definitely occurring. As Herbalife goes, so might the entire MLM industry.
Pete, Ive been seeing references to Herbalife on Bloomberg and CNBC for while now about these allegations. If I remember correct, the company still turns a profit in spite of the talk. It will be interested to see how all this turns out.
I tried Plexus (Slim/Accelerator) for six weeks starting last November and GAINED 10 lbs, so I stopped. When I called to cancel my automatic order, I requested my 60 day refund and was DENIED. They said it hadn’t been 60 days, so I was no longer entitled to a refund since I was stopping the program about 2 weeks “prematurely”. Nevermind that, I had GAINED weight, and I didn’t want to risk gaining more.
I let it go, muddled through the rest of December, and started 2014 with the same old resolution of weight loss as usual. My weight did not fluctuate up or down after stopping Plexus.
In early March, I decided to try again. My friend was having great results, so I tried to convince myself that my previous weight gain was just “holiday crap”. This time I added the X Factor, ProBio, and BioClense to the Slim/Accelerator combo.
That was about 3 weeks ago…I’ve gained an additional 5 lbs. This is the first weight fluctuation I’ve experienced since stopping Plexus in mid-December.
So…..now I’m FIFTEEN pounds heavier, out several hundred dollars, and was denied the 60 day refund the company flaunts.
I HATE THIS PRODUCT.
For the record, I walk my dog 1-2 miles about 4-5 times a week and I take an hour long Kickboxing or Boxing class 2-3 times a week. While I readily admit to having a terrible sweet tooth (that I consciously work to control), but for the most part, I eat pretty well.
I needed to lose about 50 lbs BEFORE Plexus. Now I need to lose 65.
I had a really bad experience too with just the Plexus Slim (old formula with Hoodia). When I posted about that bad experience here, a couple of people commented that it was ALL my fault. It was not the product it was me! The Ambassador who sold me the product said the same thing.
It took many, many, many months to get my refund from the company and I was even told that it had been refunded but my bank said it had not. Had to call again and write again and miraculously it showed up in my bank account.
Joe gave us all the information on the “ingredients” and I am thankful for that. Each person’s body chemistry is different and one size does not fit all. I hope you get your weight loss goal met with really natural means like healthy eating (even a bit of sweets) and daily exercise.
My doctor told me when I asked him about Plexus or other natural items, “Natural does not always mean safe.”
Probably should have stopped taking the accelerator. Did you tell your ambassador that you were having trouble? There are some people that the product will not work for but, the majority of the people who quit and claim that it doesn’t work is because they don’t see the results they want immediately and quit before the results have a chance to show.
I’d be willing to bet that you didn’t have blood panels done before you started or before you gave up. Some people with extremely damaged systems take longer than others. That’s how Plexus works. I works from the inside, resetting your system. Sometimes we see weight gain, bloating or some sort of undesirable symptom that simply means your system is starting to do its job.
What do you think cold symptoms are?? Its the evidence that your immune system is fighting off a viral attack! Do you feel great when your immune system is fighting off a virus? NO! You’re sick! You feel miserable! It’s NORMAL BODILY FUNCTION! You could have eased your symptoms by scaling back and slowly reintroducing the products a little at a time. You would likely have seen results if you would have stuck it out.
Jolene it was your fault. You only gave it a week. Medications take longer than that to work! You could have stopped the accelerator and been just fine. The drink doesn’t contain Hoodia. It never did.
Kelly, I know you are a believer in how PS is helping you, but how can you say to Jolene is wrong with what she says but not like Pete for when his thoughts differ from what your own?
when you say PS – the pink drink -never had hoodia, that is actually incorrect. The original plexus slim formula did contain hoodia. They called it “Oxypregnane steroidal glycoside” but as I pointed out in my review, this is the scientific name for hoodia.
For the record, Kelly, I never took the accelerator. I only tried the “original” Plexus Slim with the Hoodia but they did not list it as Hoodia. I would comment more but it would be a waste of words and my time.
Week 6 Update… I personally have no losses to report this week. I tested positive for Candida overgrowth. So, I now have a list of Candida fighting foods and I will add Probio 5 to my Plexus routine very soon. I will say that I was having a hard time sleeping for a couple of weeks. I was restless and fidgety and couldn’t figure out why. I figured it was something non Plexus related. I was wrong.
One day I had this urge to just run (dangerous I know for someone my size) so, I started just jogging up the stairs when I had to go up there. It was slow at first because of my previous knee issues but, the more I moved around, the more I wanted to move around. Then, my restlessness was gone and I’ve been sleeping great since. My problem was pent up unused energy.
I’ve never had THAT problem before! Finding motivation to move was my problem before Plexus and now I actually WANT to exercise. As for my husband, he’s just completed Week 2. His blood sugar is down 57 points and his blood pressure is down to pre hypertension stage. He’s loving it. He lost 1.2 lbs and 2 inches. We’ve noticed some other changes in him as well but, those will remain between the two of us.
Kelly, do you measure your blood sugar regularly? sometimes not sleeping well can be a sign of low blood sugar. Just wanted to toss that out to you in case it might be going on.
I do. As it happens low blood sugar does not usually cause restlessness it causes dizziness, blurred vision, fatigue and cold sweats. I’ve never had this issue before not even after drinking caffeine too soon before bed time. Nothing has ever made me want to move. You know, I’m kinda starting to feel like you’re trying to find any other explanation for the changes I’m seeing in myself.
Kelly, honestly Im not but rather trying to give you ideas that may not have occurred. Whether I’m right or not, I dont know. I am glad you are feeling better – I really am. having difficultly sleeping can be a sign of hypoglycemia. Here is a list that mentioned that I quickly found online
Hypoglycemia causes symptoms such as:
hunger
shakiness
nervousness
sweating
dizziness or light-headedness
sleepiness
confusion
difficulty speaking
anxiety
weakness
Here is the link I got this list from http://diabetes.niddk.nih.gov/dm/pubs/hypoglycemia/
Again, take this for what it is. I dont have an agenda Kelly. My only goal is to give you information.
In what I understand, the “saliva test” to check for Canada is completely useless. But, it is a good way to get people to buy more of product, and there is nothing wrong with that if a person falls for the hype. In marketing terms, this is called “piggy-backing”. The ‘ambassadors” selling PS use this tactic when PS doesn’t seem to work on an individual.
Good tactic, and an excellent way to “drain your pocketbooks” paying for, in a lot of cases, an unnecessary product. Here is a link referring to my post.
http://www.natural-acne-solution.com/candida-spit-test.html
Sorry, folks, never said I could spell. Wouldn’t even place in a spelling “Bee”. I am referring to Candida, and the probiotic that PS sells, Pro-bio5 as the “piggy-back” product.
Becky
Your statement, “I think without actually buying and trying a product you really can’t write an accurate review.” Becky, I have never bought or tried “cocaine”, or “amphetamines”, but I feel I am accurate in saying they are bad for you. So, I wouldn’t be so critical of this review.
Good news about the weight-loss, but it would be interesting to know where you go from the 247 lbs. with your current weight-loss agenda.
Keep us posted.
I dont even know what to say about this…I think without actually buying and trying a product you really cant write an accurate “review”
I am not an ambassador but I am a plexus customer since October 2013… my starting weight was 303 I am now 247…no special diet and no exercise other than walking for 30 min a day(which I was doing before I started plexus)…I am on the drink, accelerator, Xfactor, Probio5 and Bio cleanse with the occasional plexus 96 protein drink/shake
Within 4 days of starting plexus my pain level from fibromyalgia was drastically reduced… by 10 days I was 100% completely pain free…I haven’t been able to enjoy my life for the past 6 years due to constant pain so whether or not I ever lose another pound on plexus, the relief I get from pain…the fact that I have a normal sleep schedule now and am able to sleep the whole night through…the energy I have gained is more of a reason for me to stay on plexus.
My mother is also on it since Oct(we started together) and she started with just the pink drink since she had high BP and was on all kinds of meds(21 a day) for different issues…she also had serious medical issues from an injury and could not even leave her house…She has mottled bones and lesions on her spine which caused severe pain so most of her day was spend in bed or on the couch.
She added the accelerator in January…she is now down to 6 meds a day…is able to walk more than just across the room and do the things she was unable to do because of pain etc and she is down 40 lbs. total and she didn’t exercise at all during these past 5 months
None of her meds were not for pain etc that could be reduced with losing weight…Her doctors are amazed at her transformation medically and are happy she is off so many medications with a simple drink and capsule
Plexus has done wonderful things for me and my mom…I dont have scientific proof it helps you lose weight… but what I do have is confidence in the product that has helped me and my mother the way it has with significant weight loss and relief from ailments that held us back
Congratulations, Becky! Do yourself a favor and ignore Pete. He never has anything good to say and it gets boring arguing with him.
Kelly, with all respect I think Pete brings some balance to the discussion because there are several PS distributors here who only tell one side of the story. As a former PS distributor he does have some insights that most dont have and that includes me. I dont think PS distributors dont have to argue with him if they dont want to. This doesn’t have to be about “Im right/your wrong” but rather about sharing your thoughts, feelings and facts and let people decide for themselves what they think is best for them, having access to all sides of the topic.
I don’t think he brings anything but, negativity to the discussion. It doesn’t matter what anyone says he calls them a liar and proceeds to force feed us his “liberated” “enlightened” view. I choose not to respond to him because of this and yet he continues to respond to my posts. I can’t for the life of me figure out how someone can spend so much of their life in a particular line of work and then come out hating it so much. If it is such a bad industry what stay in it for so long? I have my theories and they pretty much run neck in neck with what I found out about another former ambassador who was posting here. They did wrong and got cut out and now they are looking for pay back.
Kelly, while I won’t make a blanket statement when it comes to everybody involved in MLM, I do know that I know there are some sneaky people who do it. This is true for a lot of businesses also. Even here, on other some of my other reviews, distributors try to post fake testimonials about how wonderful the products are (I know there are fake because vigilant people, like Pete, were aware of their fake names and alerted me, which led me to do my own detective work, revealing how some people are not who they appear). Just recently I caught someone on another review posting comments using different names. Why the need for different names?
I’ve also seen people who are day traders and stock holders in companies whose product I reviewed, who try to post propaganda in the hopes of pumping up the company – presumably so they can dump the stock and make a profit. I’ve been attacked personally by the sellers of some products who, when they can’t debate me on the facts, trash me in blog posts on their own websites. They call me “a blogger” as if that’s supposed to hurt or discredit me (I love that name actually!) . I’m told some talk about me in forums and even email me privately to see what my degrees and education are (they are posted on the About page here).
All that said, I can appreciate feeling wounded by the words of others who may not agree with what you believe. I believe many people do it out of love and not spite or hate and it’s based on what they have experienced and their desire to help others.
Kelly
For someone that has stated they longer will respond to my post you certainly seem to ‘respond” a lot. Direct, or indirect. Pretty confident you are reading them lol. I have not called anyone a liar. I may have said someone might have “deviated from the truth” about PS, and I believe Joe’s post proves that. There again, not calling you a liar, but I believe you are deviating from the truth when you claim you have Fibromyalgia, and now after experiencing the ‘miracle” GENERIC VITAMIN, PS can suddenly run up and down stairs.???? You should be on the 6:00 news. Are you? lol No disrespect to others who may have this horrible debilitating disease.
Kelly, just proving you wrong Again. My long career was not in MLM. One year actually involved with PS, as I retired from the pharmaceutical industry. (33 yrs.) After that, 4 1/2 years and counting studying the MLM model that PS represents. Sorry, folks I’m sure not important to most. Big difference, Kelly. Just like your ridiculous, and again wrong statement concerning the side effects of “hypoglycemia”, you are misinformed, along with being brain-washed. Don’t try to compete with Joe on hypoglycemia, or any other science issue. He is just showing respect to you, and, in my opinion, you do not deserve. He can take you to school and back on ANY science issue. Have you checked his credentials, of course not?
As far as my post on PS being “negative”. Of course they are to you, remember you sell this stuff. Kelly, the information I provide for this is from “actual” experience from both side of the fence. So, whose is most credible. Think about.
Pete, I sent you a PM via facebook. It will go into your other folder.
Anna
Don’t understand why your information cannot be shared with the site. If concerning MLM, Joe allows me, and others to express our views, but I hope all understand that it pertains to the business side of PS, and only PS. Out of respect to this site I will not be responding to your facebook request.
Thanks for linking to me in your PS review 🙂
I do not see any statement of your credentials, where might interested parties find them.
Joe, I’m new to your blog and I may be in the wrong place to ask this, but do you have any comments or research available about Genesis Pure?
Cecil, are you referring to me? Its in my About Page
I couldn’t comment on Carolyns post for some reason but Carolyn I wanted to tell you I am in the same position, I have lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis (there’s a name for it when you have both) anyway I feel your pain. I also wanted to comment about Plexus I saw one of my gf’s is using it and selling it and IT IS working for her. I have seen a lot of people posting about all the energy they have, they don’t crave sugar, waist size is smaller, wake up revitalized, lower blood sugars and that’s all great BUT Be careful 10 years from now I guarantee that they will come up with some profound studies proving Joe and some others know what they are talking about.
Its not the short term side effects that you should be worried about (yes you should) BUT its the long term side effects. Like the ones I have from taking other supplements and the one drug they named “the miracle diet pill” Phentermine which is becoming popular again.
By me ignoring the fast heart beat brushing it off as that goes with having more energy (at 25 what do you expect) and the waking up great but I needed to take that pill so after I woke up or it didn’t last.
Boy did my weight drop but I never imagined that I was damaging my heart, liver, kidneys and other parts of my body or that my bones would break so easily at age 44!
I’m trying to word this so everyone will understand BE CAREFUL! By the way doctors are not always right and don’t always have the answers, that’s why they PRACTICE medicine or its called a practice…They are sometimes more clueless then we are about these types of supplements.
As far as a pyramid Scheme if your still around and making money in 5 years drop me a line I would love to hear from you. Plexus will end up with 30 seconds of airtime selling their product for 29.95 and if you act now they will send you a few one as long as you pay the shipping and handling. That or in the Aisle of your super market that sells the as seen on TV products. I know its great to make all that money the first 1-2 years BUT AT WHAT COST to others!
Be Well!
I made a mistake in my post I meant to say Plexus will end up with 30 seconds of airtime selling their product for 29.95 and if you ACT NOW they will include an extra 30 day supply at no cost to you (just pay separate shipping and handling) I was being funny but also serious. Sorry about my typo(S) in the previous comment.
Be Well.
I just want to scream at the fact that anyone thinks taking a weight loss product will cure them of their autoimmune illness. There is so much more that goes into healing and taking crap to lose weight is only going to exacerbate your symptoms.
For the record, I take and sell Plexus products, and nobody with a brain in their head believes that Slim cures autoimmune disorders. What people believe HELPS with certain AI issues is ProBio5 by helping to rid your body of candida overgrowth.
Agree Sdbrougher. I’ve been told by a few people that they no longer have pain from fibromyalgia, no longer have blood pressure or diabetic issues One lady even said that she had crippling back pain that has gone away, no more pain from bulging discs, deteriorated discs or arthritis. They make Plexus sound like a miracle cure. I asked one if it was such a miracle then why don’t they use it to cure cancer. I know I’m skeptical but I can’t see how a drink can cure everything.
Nic, here is my review of Plexus ProBio5
Taking enzymes and probiotics alone are not going to rid your body of Candida overgrowth and then pairing it with a weight loss drink? For one, a body never rids itself of Candida and I am going to re-iterate, using a weight loss product to deal with serious illnesses or even being told it will help is so very irresponsible.
Nic,
Plexus Ambassadors most certainly do believe that the products cure autoimmune disorders. You need to review some of the claims that have been documented on this site – things like curing psoriasis, Crohn’s, alopecia, etc. If that isn’t enough, Facebook contains countless similar claims.
Unless I am reading this wrong, you are saying that the folks who made those claims are brainless.
Nic
To my understanding there are about 175,000 distributors for PS. Well, per your post, about 174,999 don’t have a brain in their heads. Have you been reading the ambassadors post, testimonials, etc.? Where have you been? False product claims are all over the internet referring to the disease states you just mentioned, and many more.
You may need to stop advertising Plexus as a product with drug like benefits, is not a drug and it has not been proven to work as such.
http://www.fda.gov/ICECI/EnforcementActions/WarningLetters/2014/ucm411287.htm
3 Countries have warned their citizens that the “Plexus” products are not safe.
Why would anyone want to ingest them?
The FDA letter, in reference to PS over-stepping their boundaries in promoting their products, just proves what has been preached by consumer advocates for some times. I knew it was just a matter of time before PS tactics were discovered by the authorities.
PS is in a serious situation in that now the FDA is looking them right in the eye. Any deviation from the FDA regulation letter would mean serious consequences for the company. I bet there are still ambassadors out there still making false claims about their products.
For heaven sakes folks this is MLM, I in my experience have never seen one in which some sort of cheating wasn’t going on. It is the only way that MLM companies survive.
Well MR. PS, break the rules again and see what happens. You just may not exist anymore.
Not bragging, but I predicted this would happen after the first meeting I attended, about two years ago.
And, you cannot convince me that Mr. Robinson, and the other so-called executives were not aware of the regulaions being broken. You cannot run a company, and not be aware of what is going on in the field.
Depends on when you ask this question – when it first came out, it was “all about the weight loss”. Then, it was about the “Plexus Freedom”. Now, it’s “All About the Health”. People will ignore common sense – see the posts by “M” above – she said she didn’t care about scientific info, she was going to take it anyhow.
They have to break the rules, otherwise there’s not enough demand for their products and thus downlines start dropping like flies. They have to make outrageous claims and hide behind “all natural” in order to convince the naïve that their products work. That and allowing “ambassadors” to make outrageous claims while hiding behind the contract that sets them up as separate from the company.
Michael
You are right, and that is why consumer advocates, like myself, who are against MLM, the way it operates today (once a very reputable business opportunity) has all the reasons in the world to make this statement. “MLM as operated today, is the most “deceptive” business practice on the face of the planet”. It’s not the business, folks, just most of the people who are allowed to participate without proper knowledge and training.
OH, how do you ambassadors who are at the bottom of the pyramid scheme feel about you sitting at home while the people who takes your money are enjoying themselves in Maui. Believe this folks, based on the odds, approximately 97% of you will never see Maui.
Yeah, that whole Hawaii thing. Must feel real good seeing those uplines having a ball on the efforts that their downlines have been giving. Keep making those meetings and posting FB updates, downlines. Those uplines need more Mai-Tais by the poolside!
Pete (AKA Consumer’s Advocate): you can advocate against MLMs, but that doesn’t mean the products don’t work. Just saying!!
M
Here’s the talking points that downlines were told to put on their FB pages while the uplines are in Hawaii:
“While some of my friends are enjoying Maui, I am enjoying my news feed exploding with their pictures. Plexus Worldwide is spoiling them all with a week in Maui, gifts, and first class treatment. I will be there next year too! Who is coming with me?”
Pitiful.
I’ve tried to refrain from commenting, but feel the need to at this point. My friend and colleague (teacher) became a Plexus ambassador about 3 years ago. This school year she did not go back to her teaching job. Why? She didn’t return because she was making 4X her teaching salary selling Plexus. My friend, who is an Ambassador, not an upline executive went to Maui this past year. Yes, it was an all expense paid trip for her and her husband. Perhaps this seems impossible to those on the “outside” looking at Plexus as a “scam”.
Those of you on this blog don’t know me. Rest assured, I am not “brainwashed” or uneducated. I finally decided to try a few Plexus products this past October. Doing so, I realized nothing is a miracle cure….. but, I was willing to give it a try and see for myself. I take my health and well being very seriously, so I monitored my blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol and weight very carefully. ( I had type II diabetes and high cholesterol at the onset of my Plexus trial.)
As of January 19, 2015, cholesterol is down 36 points and my blood sugar is well within the normal range and I lost 17 pounds. I’ve changed my diet very little and don’t exercise any more than I did a year ago. The changes have been brought about by using Plexus Slim, Boost, Block and Pro Bio 5. I recently started using the X factor Vitamin and have strong fingernails for the first time in my adult life. This in itself is mind blowing to me. I’ve NEVER had strong/long fingernails.
I’m not trying to sell Plexus to any of you. Try it or don’t. However, perhaps you should consider that the products work for some people. Would it be so terrible if people actually experienced better health from using these products? I’m not a research scientist and don’t proclaim that Plexus is a miracle cure, but I do know that it helped me. Since it’s my hard earned money, I’ll spend it on products that have positive effects on my health. What the heck…. I’m saving money by not needing two prescription drugs anymore. ( Simmer down, I’m not going rogue and self diagnosing…. I have regular check ups with my family doctor.)
Not everything can be explained in black and white. Science is just that…. look up the definition.
Respectfully, SS
“Not everything can be explained in black and white. Science is just that…. look up the definition.”
Actually, science seeks to do just that. Investigate what a certain chemical does and explain why it does it. In plain black and white terms. At no time has Plexus Slim taken the time to have its products scientifically tested. If you are OK with ingesting products that come from who knows where and cannot be verified for purity, content, or origin, then by all means, do it. You will have to pay the piper at some point in your life for running these substances through your system. Your body is not designed and not equipped to have stimulants running through it, particularly as a diabetic.
You mentioned that you take block. A very unwise and uneducated decision. Block is a carbohydrate blocker that can have very adverse effects in diabetics. You are putting you health in danger by taking that product. But hey, because you have a “friend” who has scored bucks and every ambassador meeting reinforces inaccurate sales pitch info, continue down that path.
You threw out the typical non-sequitur of “Would it be so terrible if people actually experienced better health from using these products?” Your assumption here is that anyone who disagrees with Plexus is wanting to deprive people of better health. An absolute departure from logic. The ingestion of chemicals, stimulants, and other ingredients is in no way a direct link to better health. Sure, people might feel energized by the stimulants in Plexus. That’s not improving health. It’s using a chemical to have a reaction in the body.
Sonja Spirakis
In reference to your teacher friend who has been with PS for 3 years and has tripled her salary: First of all, the teachers in La. are lucky to make $30,000yr., if that much. Ask her what she truly made after expenses, etc. PS ambassadors, and other MLMers are notorious about making false income claims.
I personally won’t call you ‘brainwashed’, or “uninformed” at this time, that will come after your friend, or some other MLM simpleton convinces you to join PS as an ambassador. I will say that you have no knowledge of the MLM industry, and how it operates.
The people that do make the big bucks, are the ones lucky enough to get in on the scheme early. Your friend meets that description, since PS took off about 3 yrs ago. Since then the market is becoming saturated, and this makes it harder, and harder to be successful. Almost everyone that joins PS at this point will lose money, and that”s what pays your friend’s trip to Maui, and supports her lifestyle. In other words, would you feel good about that 4x salary, or going to Maui at the expense of your family, friends, etc. That’s correct, people have to lose money for her to make money. Pretty sleazy if you ask me.
And, yes, it is a “pyramid scheme” with “scam” written all over it. PS, along with most MLM companies offer the most deceptive business practice on the face of this planet. MLM dupes millions of people out of billions of dollars each year. Yea, for your friend!
Sonja, there are many definitions of ‘science”. Read this one from “Wikipedia”, it defines PS, and what your friend does for a living from a science point of view.
Fringe science, pseudoscience and junk science
“An area of study or speculation that masquerades as science in an attempt to claim a legitimacy that it would not otherwise be able to achieve is sometimes referred to as pseudoscience, fringe science, or junk science.[43] Physicist Richard Feynman coined the term “cargo cult science” for cases in which researchers believe they are doing science because their activities have the outward appearance of science but actually lack the “kind of utter honesty” that allows their results to be rigorously evaluated.[44] Various types of commercial advertising, ranging from hype to fraud, may fall into these categories”.
Oh, glad PS is working for you. Let the site know when you go back on your past medications. Yeah, we know there will be snow in Maui before that happens! LOL
Sonja,
I want to revisit your post as information has come to me that contradicts your story. First, you didn’t simply try some products in October. You in fact became an ambassador in September 2014. This calls into question your motives and testimonial about all of the supposed improvements you have had.
I would like to ask you – how are your sales going? You haven’t had much online activity since January, so it would be nice to have a follow-up.
“That’s correct, people have to lose money for her to make money. Pretty sleazy if you ask me.”
Isn’t this how all businesses work??? When you go to a restaurant you “lose” money in return for a “product” while the restaurant makes “money.”
When you buy clothes you “lose” money and the clothes companies make money!
Basic business pattern.
liz
Do you tell other people that you went to a restaurant for food, and a clothing store for clothes and “lost” money at both establishments? Liz, you “exchanged” money for product, and the stores probably made a reasonable profit. No money was funneled “UP” to anyone who did not have anything to do we the sale. (upline) You lost nothing. It may just be minimum wage but, everyone who works at the businesses are assured a paycheck. Nobody made money, but the people directly involved with your purchases.
In MLM, such as PS, you are obligated to purchase a certain amount of product (whether you use it , or not). The money is collected by the company, and paid out as commissions to your upline who probably don’t even know your name. The company keeps about 50%, which is ridiculous, the rest goes to distributors. The majority of the commissions go to the top 1% of the ambassadors, the other 99%, make little, or nothing. Unlike a legitimate business, where everyone gets a check, 83% of MLMers get no check at all.
Liz, where do you think that money to pay the top people comes from? It comes from that 99% who make little, or nothing. So, in MLM, 1% wins, 99% loses. The money flows “upward”.
Sorry, Liz, but hopefully you can see that MLM is a “flawed” business model and doomed to fail sooner, or later. Understand a “pyramid” scheme, and you will have a better understanding of the above.
M, you can advocate for MLM’s but that doesn’t mean the products work. Just saying.
M
You just don’t get it, do you. I don’t think so, but PS may have the best products on the market for weight-loss. NOBODY KNOWS BECAUSE THERE IS NO CONCRETE EVIDENCE PROVING IT!!!!!! A bunch of obese people deceiving others, just to sell a bag of this stuff does not make a product good.
Somebody is really going to get hurt one day because of these greedy individuals. Are you capable of understanding this, or are you so brainwashed, that you don’t care.
DECEPTION is the perfect word to describe PS, and most all other MLMs. As a matter of fact, experts, and consumer advocates like myself( thanks for recognizing that) feel, and based on fact, and research, that MLM companies, including PS utilize the most deceptive business practice on the face of the earth.
Michael,
On the contrary, the products work for me. I am NOT advocating for MLM’s, I’m advocating that PS works for some and not others!!
Nice try though. 😉
M
You do realize that I just used your own words and flipped them to counter what you said? Go back and read both your post and mine and maybe you’ll figure it out.
Michael,
I know exactly what you did.
Plexus Works!!
Good Day.
M
Apparently, you don’t. When you post, “you can advocate against MLMs, but that doesn’t mean the products don’t work.”, that’s you defending MLM’s, not just Plexus. Maybe if you weren’t “chuckling” all the time, you would realize that you’re totally contradicting yourself in posts on this site. I will say you are right about Plexus working. It works amazingly at emptying wallets and drawing in people to mindlessly promote it. I mean, sitting around at 9pm on a Saturday night posting propaganda for Plexus – that’s some kinda work!
Michael,
Ok, whatever YOU say is gospel and no other individuals comments are true, regardless. That is a good thing to know. HAHA. I could care less who makes money on the products, if that’s what they want to do, that’s their choice, more power to them. Regardless of the selling technique or who is selling it, the products have worked for me and others. That still can’t be proven wrong. If I have to keep repeating that I sure will. 😉
LMAO, what does 9 p.m. on Saturday night have anything to with Plexus?? You’ve lost me there. What someone does on a Saturday night means they are involved in MLMs? HAHAHA. I learn something new every time I read this site.
Plexus Works!!
Good day.
M
PLEXUS DOES NOT WORK! Its a scam and EVERY person on here saying that it works is selling this junk! There should be a class action lawsuit again Plexus Worldwide for misrepresentation, deception and flat out LYING to everyone.
This has NOTHING to do with weight loss. Its about the scam. It’s about the pyramid scheme that is called Plexus Worldwide. It is abut lying to others so these scam artists make a buck. Plexus is a scam! Just by googling it you can see they spent a LOT of time and money on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) that buries all negative information relating to the junk they sell and the scam of the MLM tactics that prey upon hopeful and desperate people.
“I could care less who makes money on the products”
Can you expand on this? Because if you could care less, I’d like to know about that. And we know that you do care – because you have mocked others about their lack of success in selling Plexus.
“LMAO, what does 9 p.m. on Saturday night have anything to with Plexus?? You’ve lost me there.”
You tell me. I was out doing things other than pounding on a keyboard trying to defend a unproven product. Seems many others were as well.
Some Guy,
I am not a liar, I have gotten results that are amazing. Oh….and by the way….I don’t sell it. So, you’re wrong on both accounts.
Good day.
Plexus Works.
M
I agree. It does and helped me with blood test levels I just gotthem back and I am so happy and so is my DR.
People! People! People! Please agree to disagree and stop trying to dispute what the ones who have the REAL experience with the product vs the ones who may have tried but failed or have never tried the product. You do realize that not every drug on the market that is FDA approved and prescribed by Physicians works on every candidate? Some of those, myself included, get very tired and very frustrated at the constant trips to the Doctors office and than to the pharmacy only to find out it was all pointless to say the least.
And than to add insult to injury find out sometimes a year to 10 years down the road that some of those same drugs are very harmful to the majority of the ones taking it. Have you noticed that most all drugs have some type of disclaimer attached to it now? That means take it at your own risk to say the least. So what is the debate really about? Is it about MLM making money or does the Product really work? If I take a prescription drug and it does not do what the Doctor prescribed it for, I STOP TAKING IT!! If I take it and my symptoms disappear (whether it is actually doing the job or not) Than I will probably keep taking it until I get tired of popping a pill in my mouth everyday.
So I would have to say if I take a diet pill/drink and see results, than that is what matters to me. Not whether you think it works or not. I am looking for results. I do not care if it is all in my mind or whatever, I want to see results.
So when these people are showing the pictures of their before and after and their testimonies that their illness have disappeared I believe them. Because results are what matter. You will note that most illnesses can be elevated by just losing weight; So it is very possible that the problems they were having have disappeared due to the weight loss to say the least.
Jo,
That is good news. I hope that your health continues on the right track.
M
Jo
Good for you! Can you do us all a favor, and ask the company, the doctor, or even ask your how you think PS, which is nothing more but an overpriced VITAMIN with some fillers, helps you to achieve the positive results on your blood test. This would be wonderful, and needs to be shared with medical community, then pasts on to the FDA for further review. If you know what I am talking about. lol I haven’t heard this false claim before.
Janie
What do you mean by REAL experience with the product? Most everyone that post on this site, including me, have tried PS before submitting their post. And also, most of the posters have had experience with the marketing, or business side.
As far as the failure statement, must be a lot of failures out there for the company to change their marketing strategy from Initially promoting PS as a weight-loss product, and because of so many obvious failures with the new formulations, to a wellness product. What a crock.
In the real pharmaceutical world you can’t change the indication of a product like you would change underwear. The product would have to go back to clinical trials and obtain the indication of a wellness product, and then be approved by the FDA. This sometimes takes years, and the cost is substantial.
Unlike PS (MLM), the pharmaceutical industry cannot wake-up one morning and decide to change gears just because you have a “trash” product in a “trash” industry. Janie, with PS having NO data supporting safety, long-term side effects, or efficacy, how can you, or any PS, or MLM simpleton, feel that PS is even marginally safe, or effective, compared to pharmaceutical products.
“Is it about MLM making money, or does the Product really work?”
If it weren’t for the “recruiting” process (pyramid scheme), PS would not exist. If the bulk of PS sales were dependent on real retail sales, the company would have already sunk. It is dependent on recruitment of ambassadors who buy there own product and get others to do the same thing in order to support the lifestyles of their upline. The money flows upward. Those at the top of the pyramid make money (few) at the expense of the poor suckers at the bottom. In MLM, it’s not about making money, it’s about TAKING money.
As far as the product working, who knows. Not data is out there proving it works or not. Do you have any proof other than testimonials. Experts from your own industry has said testimonials are worthless.
Janie, are you an ambassador?
Janie writes:
“And than to add insult to injury find out sometimes a year to 10 years down the road that some of those same drugs are very harmful to the majority of the ones taking it. Have you noticed that most all drugs have some type of disclaimer attached to it now? That means take it at your own risk to say the least.”
Please tell me how Plexus is any different in this regard. Do we have any studies showing the long term results of the ingredients in Plexus’ products? How can you talk out of one side of your mouth bashing drugs that at least have studies done on them and then out of the other side not acknowledge the potential dangers of ingesting stimulants, appetite suppressants, laxatives, and other non-tested ingredients?
“So when these people are showing the pictures of their before and after and their testimonies that their illness have disappeared I believe them. Because results are what matter.”
That’s right, because none of those pictures were possibly doctored and/or recycled from other product testimonials. All someone has to do is take a before picture then suck in their gut, lay in a tanning bed and make claims that they are miraculously healed. People like you will see that as proof positive and sign up under them and begin taking everything they tell you to. That is some high intelligence there.
Hmmm. If you really think PS is “all natural” and “without risks”, may wanna take a look from REAL users – some who will have life long health issues.
http://thepinkdrinkscam.blogspot.com/p/product-review.html
No I am not an ambassador!! I have Never sold the product, but being a person who constantly has to battle weight gain I am always looking for something that is effective on me and actually works. I am sure that this product along with other marketing companies such as Mary Kay have learned how to be successful using this method of selling their product and they probably make more money this way< I don't know that for sure as you seem to have all the answers, but the bottom line is that all products out there are in it for the MONEY!
It is up to the individual to do due diligence and find out what works best for them. I have gone to doctors who have given me medicine that I PAID for and it was not cheap only to find out it did not work and or I was not able to tolerate it;
Of course that meant that I would need to have another drug to replace the one that I had only just paid for a few days prior and was now out the money more than once for the same situation.
At least this company does offer you your money back if you are not satisfied with the results you received from taking their product; whereas the drugs you get at the drug store do not offer you the same money back offers.
There are no guarantees about ANY DRUGS out there as to whether they work or not, but it is nice to know that some of the companies realize that their product might not work on everyone and are willing to let you have your money back. That is a FACT!
I noticed this comment from that page: “so why wasn’t the Rep up front with me and tell me that there was no guarantee that I would lose weight?”
Well, that is the heart and soul of MLM companies like Plexus. Money is made by ambassadors ONLY if they are signing up new downlines who in turn sell product and sign up new downlines. How many people do you think they would be able to reel in if they were honest about this product? This is why they get all these ladies in hotel conference rooms and put on the big show. This is why they slather all sorts of bogus testimonials on Facebook. Unless they are bringing in new recruits, ambassadors do not make the money promised to them in these meetings. Therefore, they lie and fabricate in order to bring people in, knowing they will lose a percentage out of frustration from product failures.
Michael,
You are so comical. Hahahaha. How would like me to expand on it? Here you go: I don’t care, how much clearer can I get? I was merely mocking those that were mocking others.
How do you know that I wasn’t out on Saturday? You have no clue what I do or anything else about me for that matter. It takes a whole 2 minutes to type a comment on here. Lmao.
There are people for and people against Plexus and we all have own reasons for the way we feel about it. We all have the right to our opinions and feelings. So, it doesn’t matter what we say to others or what others say to us, it’s not going to change our minds. Point blank. Just a debate.
Plexus Works.
Good day.
M
“How would like me to expand on it?”
M, I need you to follow me real carefully here. Wipe the Plexus from your chin, first. You said “I could care less who makes money on the products”. Deconstruct that statement, if you can. “I could care less”. That means you do care and there’s room for you to care less. The correct way to use that statement is, I couldn’t care less.
“How do you know that I wasn’t out on Saturday?….It takes a whole 2 minutes to type a comment on here.”
Whatever you need to tell yourself to feel better. Don’t let me stand in your way.
“We all have the right to our opinions and feelings.”
If I may, here are some of your statements:
“It worked for me and for many others, so you can’t discredit us. So why bother trying?”
“You are the one trying to brainwash people into believing your rumblings.”
“Just as a heads up: there are a few people on this site that, after reading your post, will say that what you have posted can’t possibly be true because it hasn’t been proven in a “study” and that it is just an MLM scheme and all a part of being brainwashed by Plexus sales people. They don’t want to hear, acknowledge or believe in the actual results that we have gotten.”
“Don’t pay attention to the rude and sarcastic comments from some people on here, they are against MLM and they bash everything about Plexus, regardless of what any of us say on here. Those opposed to it are so set on the fact that Plexus hasn’t been proven by a clinical study; therefore, they refuse to believe that it actually works.”
This site was going along fine with people voicing their opinions and feelings until you stepped in. You got irritated that someone posted something negative and started crying about how this should “just be about the product.” You can’t stand that others have opinions different than yours and can back it up with studies and verifiable proof. You rely on “Plexus works” as the sole basis for your argument. Well, that and FB posts of testimonials. You try so very hard to personally attack those who disagree with Plexus. If Plexus is so very incredibly wonderful, as you portray it, then it will be the product that speaks for itself. It wouldn’t need you in here on a Saturday night, trying to defend it.
Michael,
1. Keep quoting everyone on here, you’re so good at that. HAHAHAHAHAHA. I personally, am not going to take the time to quote everything that you posted, my time is much more valuable than that.
2. Go back and review some of your typos, rants, insults, opinions and condescending views towards the product and also toward other people’s comments. You have also made plenty of attacks (hypocrisy) on peoples characters and made claims of them lying or say that they are wrong.
3. All that you have quoted are my opinions and feelings, which is what you do also
4. I could care less, means just that, because the topic sparks an interest, but doesn’t consume me, more power to those that want to make money on it
5. This site was not fine, until I came on it, who are you trying to kid
6. You want verifiable proof, well, I am just that. I can verify that I’ve had results.
7. The name of the discussion pertains to the review of the products, not the MLM view, but the whole forum has been distorted by all, including me
8. Finally, to hell with your condescending and immature comments. you act like you are 13 years old.
Good day.
Plexus Works!!
M
M, with respect, you say you are proof that plexus works, but how do we know? We have to trust what you say. What do you think of people who Plexus didn’t work?
When you say my “site was not fine” can you elaborate on that?
Joe,
What do you want me to do to prove that Plexus helped me lose weight and inches? I am 5’3″ and weighed nearly 150 lbs a year ago….I now weigh 128 lbs. I went from a size 10 pants down to a size 3. Do you want me to send you a before and after picture? Will that finally convince you that it worked for me? I’ve also noticed differences in other areas, which I am not going to elaborate on again, because my words will get twisted and I will get accused of lying.
Regarding those that it doesn’t work for, I’m sorry that they didn’t get results, but I have always maintained that it works for some and not others. I don’t think that I ever claimed that it works for every single person that tries it. I do have many friends who use it, that have results. I have also recommended that each individual should check with their physician prior to taking it.
I don’t want to argue with people on here, I am one of the individuals for the product, not because I sell it and want to profit from it, but because I have had a good experience with it and I like it.
There are others who don’t like the product and have had a bad experience with it, but the ones that I conflict with are those that don’t like it only because it is considered an MLM and claim it doesn’t work, just for that reason. They have treated those that are for it horribly on here and mock them. I was merely attempting to give them a taste of their own medicine.
As far as the site not being “fine” before I came on, well that is ridiculous, as there were conflicts on here long before I put my 2 cents in. All of the people on here conflict with one another.
For anyone to accuse me of being the individual causing all of issues and making this site “not fine” is insulting to me. I am not the only individual who got “irritated” on here.
No matter what I say on here, I’m always going to be wrong, in the eyes of some people on here. If I had the time, that they obviously do, I could go through every single post and quote all of their typos, grammar usages and word configurations to turn their words around, just like they do to mine, but it isn’t worth it to me.
There are pros and cons to Plexus, it works for some and not others, some people make money off of it and others do not. There is always 2 sides to every story. I don’t go around pushing the product on people, when they ask me how I’ve gotten to be so small, I tell them how. But that doesn’t make me a bad person or an MLM loser, like some people on here portray me.
Let me know if you want a before and after photo. I’ll provide it. And would love to see the photos of some of the others on here.
Plexus Works!!
Good day.
M
M thanks not needed. I don’t need before and after pics. I’m happy for you. Happy Halloween!
M
I am just a little confused. Some time ago you stated you did not sell PS, now you do. At one time you said you would ‘nt post again, obviously, that was a deviation of the truth also. One more, you said you were not interested in making money. Nobody gets into sales without the desire to make money.
So, with all this deviation of truth, how can we believe a word you say about PS. Send before and after pics, but I feel they will probably be doctored in one way, or another. Yes, folks, doctoring of pictures is common in the MLM industry.
I’m actually quite curious how you lost your weight. Did you just use PS, or did you incorporate exercise and healthy eating into your plan? I have a family member who uses PS, and lost (she says) 60 lb. I can tell from photos she has since gained at least half back now that she’s just using the product and not posting about eating habits or exercise. I’m the same height as you, and maintain a weight of 112-114 with healthy eating and running/exercise. I wear a size 2/4. Where do you buy size 3 pants that fit 128 lb frame? Just curious. Thanks.
Pete,
It’s just another example in a long list of contradictory statements she has made. Wouldn’t surprise me if she was also posting in here under aliases to try and post positive reviews. You can’t trust a word this woman says.
Pete,
Where did I say that I sell PS? I make $175K a year in my career, which is not sales, so I don’t need to sell Plexus (I suppose you want to see a copy of my check stub too). I became an ambassador to get the product at a better rate. And, you know as well as I do that people like to save money on things, regardless of how much money they make.
I said that i was done arguing with you all on here about the MLM BS that goes on. You don’t have to believe a word I say, I’m not out to impress or please you. So, let me spell it out for you genius, your opinion does not matter to me. HAHA.
I suggested that I would send Joe a before and after picture, if that’s what he wanted to convince him. Why would I send you a picture of me? You wouldn’t accept them as the truth anyway and would just cause a big ruckus about it, which would eventually be twisted and turned into something about MLMs, because you are so good at making EVERYTHING about MLMs. My pictures aren’t doctored or changed, because I don’t have anything to hide. How’s that for honesty? I don’t care what you believe or think. You’re opinion and comments don’t matter to me.
Good day.
Plexus Works!!
M
Michael
Notice M has not been back to the site lately. I would imagine she has run out of information the rah-rah people at PS has told her to repeat.
You and I should be ashamed of ourselves. We are nothing but PS “dream stealers” because we think on our own, we are “free-thinkers”.. PS and other MLM companies can’t stand people like you and me. The rah-rah people at PS tell the ambassadors to stay away, while they line their pockets with the poor suckers money. How do I know? Been their and heard it!
Hey Micheal,
Here’s a news flash: your opinion doesn’t matter to me, so I don’t care what you say about me. I don’t believe you either.
Good Day.
Plexus Works!!
M
Michael,
If you’re so up on everything that I say and do, then you will notice that I was on here on 10/31/14, which wasn’t that long ago. So you’re not telling the truth there. Get it straight, if you’re going bash about me, get it right.
BTW: you used the wrong form of the word there in your statement “Been their and heard it!”
People on here love to twist my words and phrases to suit their (note the correct form of the word) arguments.
HAHAHAHA.
Good Day.
Plexus Works!!
M
M States:
“Where did I say that I sell PS?”
When you said this:
“I am one of the individuals for the product, not because I sell it and want to profit from it, but because I have had a good experience with it and I like it.”
M, that is a direct admission that you sell this product. Freudian slip, in this instance. If you deny or cannot see where this is an admission, let me know and we can walk through it together until you get it right. I know you have trouble with these things, like knowing the difference between “could care less” and “couldn’t care less”, so we’ll go real slow on that.
“I make $175K a year in my career”
So you say…. If you’ll do us a favor – please let us know when we’re supposed to be impressed with that. We certainly want to make sure that you receive ample praise for that. I’m sure it can be very damaging to someone when they make such puffed-up statements and don’t have others fawning in amazement over it. We don’t want that.
“Here’s a news flash: your opinion doesn’t matter to me, so I don’t care what you say about me.”
The dozens and dozens of other responses you have made to me (after saying you were done responding to me) say otherwise.
Might I also mention that your post right above this should be directed at Pete. You’re so in a twit right now, you can’t even keep track of who you’re upset with. Maybe snort a line of Plexus and take the edge off of things before you bang on the keyboard.
Michael,
BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!! You just keep on and never stop. Wow, what a life you must lead. You’re hilarious, you have time to dissect every single word that I type. You’re obsessed with. How flattering. NOT!! Dissect your own garbage posted on here, which contain typos, incorrectly stated comments, etc. I told you that MY time is too important to go through this entire forum for BS items.
You read everything that I post wrong; in addition, you twist and bash everything that I say. So, I’m not going to entertain your nonsense any longer. You’re obviously a bitter individual and so negative about EVERYTHING and EVERYONE on here that tries to say their peace and defend Plexus. Keep up the good work on your crusade, you inconsiderate moron. No need to rebut. However, if you do, then we know that you have an image to protect.
I will respond to others in this forum, but am done with you and Pete.
GOOD DAY!!
PLEXUS WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
M
M, may I ask what you do for a living?
“Dissect your own garbage posted on here, which contain typos, incorrectly stated comments, etc.”
Post an example, otherwise you’re lying again.
“I told you that MY time is too important to go through this entire forum for BS items.”
Aaaaannnd there’s the excuse. You’re the amazing $175k woman with amazing results and all sorts of expertise, yet when it comes to reading and cut & paste on the computer, you’re stopped dead in your tracks. Yeah, just like with Plexus, you make claims and then have no way (and no ability) to back it up. You’re too busy? Maybe put in some more time on a Saturday night, like you’ve done in the past.
“So, I’m not going to entertain your nonsense any longer.”
Gee, where have I heard that one before?
I also notice you don’t deny selling Plexus now. Seems like we were right about you all along.
Joe
Sorry about being off subject, but, and I am not a gambling man, will lay you 2-1 M doesn’t even have a real j-o-b.
Joe,
Yes, I wear many hats and have an array of responsibilities, but my title is Office Coordinator and Documentation Specialist. I work for a very large and well-known corporation.
M
Pete-You owe Joe, because I have a very good J-O-B, something I very much enjoy doing.
Joe-Thanks for what?
M
M, I meant thanks for clarifying you were not employed by plexus slim in any capacity.
Joe,
No, not at all do I consider myself employed by Plexus Slim. I use the product, I do not sell it, nor do I push it on people. If people ask me how I have lost weight and thinned down, I tell them. It is left up to them if they want to try it themselves.
Just to clarify, my comment, earlier in the forum, in which I state “not because I sell it”, may have been interpreted incorrectly. I meant that is not the reason that I’m for it, because I don’t sell it. That statement may have been better worded as “just because I am for it, doesn’t mean that I sell it”. My words get twisted very easily on here and if I make a typo, that’s the focus.
You do a good job of describing the different ingredients and I think that some of the things that you have posted were interpreted incorrectly as well, as well as others on here. It is hard to type exactly what you are trying to say, due to the fact that words on a screen don’t have a “tone” and don’t do justice for what the narrator is trying to state.
M
“I do not sell it”
That statement is false. You clearly indicate that you do sell it in one of your posts.
“nor do I push it on people”
Again, false. Your direct words: ” I do promote and recommend this product”. That’s pushing it.
“Just to clarify, my comment, earlier in the forum, in which I state “not because I sell it”, may have been interpreted incorrectly.”
There is no incorrect interpretation of your statement. The statement “not because I sell it” is a direct admission that you do sell it. In the context you use, you are saying you promote the product because of results rather than the fact that you sell it. You want us to buy in to the product for some reason other that the fact you sell it. You certainly are entitled to your opinion of what you meant but for the rest of us who have a clear understanding of the English language, the meaning is clear.
“It is hard to type exactly what you are trying to say”
No, its not. You just type in the words in a coherent manner. Review before you post. Funny how you are the only one complaining of word twisting in this forum. You’re also the only one with an issue of using your own words in a direct quote. Additionally, any time you’re called to the carpet on a statement you make, you magically “don’t have the time or energy”. Perhaps you should double up on the Boost or Accelerator.
M
Michael is right. Every time you post, you either indirectly, or directly try to push PS down people’s throats, in a nonchalant sort of way.
And the HAHAHA you immaturely spout sometimes is sickening. There is nothing funny about how the ambassadors for PS, and other MLMs deceive people in making them think that PS is the one an only weight-loss program, when a retarded monkey would know that diet and exercise is the best option. But, the big deception is when you throw in the little money making scheme recruits believe will make them rich in a short while. 98-99% lose money. M, you have said you are all about the products, not the money, but have you ever told a recruit this, “join PS, and make money, as you lose weight”. Bet you have.
M, thanks for that.
Michael,
Hahahahaha, you’re too funny. I’m done entertaining and arguing with you. I have nothing to prove or say to you. You’re not worth my time or energy.
Good day.
Pexus Works!!
M
In no way does Plexus “WORK”. Ive had a friend get suckered into that crap and all it did was drain his wallet while he GAINED weight.
The is NO supplement that will make you lose weight just by taking it. You have to eat right, eat less and move MORE. Im a nutritionist. This is a source of income for people that dont mind lying to other people.
M States (for about the third time now):
“I’m done entertaining and arguing with you. I have nothing to prove or say to you. You’re not worth my time or energy.”
Yet you respond to everything I post. Strange.
SomeGuy,
It worked for me and it is not a source of income for me. Helped me in more ways than one. Sorry it didn’t work for your friend.
Good day.
M
SomeGuy,
I have to agree with you that there are no supplements that will “make” you lose weight. There are many supplements that will encourage you to crave water, curb sugar cravings, and to make better food choices. I believe PS does some of these thus being a “tool” in aiding you to make better choices (through appetite control, too).
So, no it doesn’t “make” you lose weight, but it has been shown in lowering blood sugar levels, lowering blood pressure & lowering cholesterol. And, no I’m not speaking of any published peer reviews where it has been shown to do these things.
But, shown in my mother’s own test results whom her doctor has been very pleased with. He has taken her off BP meds and her cholesterol med and is now only down to one med for her diabetes. So, she is now actually saving money each month with PS (because she has dumped many meds, not just the ones I’ve mentioned but others as well) and she is happier than she’s been in a very long time.
And, guess what else? SHE IS NOW “MOVING” MORE! She used to run 5 miles every morning about 25 years ago. She is now walking 2 miles a day with no more pain in her knees. Her goal with PS now is to some day get back to running like she used to.
I TOTALLY agree that the best way is to eat right, eat less and move more. But, unfortunately, some people just do not have the gumption or will power to do these things without turning to a product such as PS or any other product for that matter. It’s sad and I wish more people would try the good ole’ “of the earth” approach. Again, unfortunately, that is just not very realistic in today’s society. 🙁
Hope
M
You deviated from the truth again!. You have stated several times that you JOINED, PS, meaning, became an ambassador, to save money. Now you tell Joe, you never had been employed by PS. Did you sign a contract? I know for a fact, that to become one you have to sign some sort of contract. Sorry, dear, but that makes you an employee.
Can you believe this person, folks? M, wants you to listen, and believe her little dog and pony show about PS, and obviously she has a problem telling the truth. Well, no surprise to me, the business she is, or is not (who knows, lol) involved in, is nothing but a big fat lie anyways. (MLM)
Pete,
M doesn’t have the time to read the Plexus ambassador contract. She’s too busy for that. If these folks knew what they were signing, they might think twice.
DrinkPink, plexus slim does not reduce cholesterol or blood pressure or blood sugar levels. There is no evidence of this and while I wont dispute what you said about your mom, I will say that if those things did go lower, it is because of the weight loss. Weight loss by any means would do the same thing as what you say plexus slim did. For full disclosure, I’ll point out that you are also a PS distributor. Nothing wrong with that but I just wanted to mention it in case anyone asked.
Drinkpinknow,
That is great to hear about your mom. Good news is always great to hear, especially when it comes to someone’s health. I’m also glad that she is saving money as a result of achieving good health. People who are against Plexus often say that it is too expensive; however, they don’t realize that there may be a trade off with not having to spend money on medications and doctor visits.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
M
M, Can you elaborate on your weight loss? I posted a reply to an earlier post you have on this thread (10/31). How much do you spend per month on PS product to maintain your weight loss or lose more weight? I’m trying to compare a family members experience with this product to other forms of weight management. Specifically, I’d like to do a cost comparison study of the cost of PS vs spending the money on exercise equipment/gym membership/etc and buying healthier food choices. I do not use any supplements, I’m just trying to become educated so that I can learn about why people find this product so alluring, for the sake of my family members health. Thanks.
Hi Chris,
While I appreciate your interest, I’m not going to elaborate too much, on this forum any longer, as everything that I say, regardless of what it is, gets twisted and misinterpreted, which in turn has me being called a liar on here (I’m sure that even this post will get attacked by the same people who try to get a response and rise out of me).
I do eat healthy, but I used to crave the occasional sweets and carbs, in which PS has helped me curb.
Just to clarify, and so you don’t think that I’m a liar about my clothes sizes: I am able to fit into some clothes (pants and skirts) that are a size 3 junior misses, but it entirely depends on the style and fit (for example, I can’t fit a size 3 junior miss in jeans, but I can in a size 5 junior miss jeans). However, I wear do wear a size 4 pants in women’s misses, which fits the same as a size 3.
On average, I spend a $3.10/day (12 months of Plexus Slim and 6 months of Boost). That is not an excessive amount, considering some people have portrayed PS as being an expensive product.
I hope this helps you in your search for answers.
Good day.
M
Chris
If you are looking for honest answers on PS, it is mine, and many others advice to NOT listen to anyone that sells this stuff. Deviation of the truth is very common in the MLM industry. If you want to spend the ridiculous price for PS, buy some and see for yourself if it’s worth it. Listening to the sales pitches of the ambassadors is really a conflict of interest.
My daughter was just here for Thanksgiving. She’s tiny anyway, but I noticed a difference in her, and I commented on it. I guess what stood out was her tummy wasn’t pooched out. My daughter is just under 5 feet tall, and she had an “8 lb plus” baby, 4 years ago. Honestly, I thought she would have to have surgery if she ever wanted her tummy to go away. She told me she had only lost 4 lbs, but it must have all been in her belly. Yes, she used Plexus, and she is going to start selling it.
I don’t know how the Plexus could have caused her tummy to disappear, but it is gone. I decided I was going to be my daughter’s first customer, and came here to do some research. If I hadn’t seen my 104 lb daughter’s result, I would have decided to pass on it. After 4 long years, her tummy didn’t just decide to go away on it’s own. My daughter wouldn’t lie to me, so I’m going for it.
I think this stuff is along the same lines of global warming! There are some people that just pick a side, and run with it. I have to be shown what’s true and what’s not. Another thing that stands out to me is the fact that some people can’t just post their opinion, and leave it at that. It’s like they have a vested interest in seeing this product fail.
I’m going for it, and I would hope people would wish me luck! I really need to lose the weight, but feeling better is what I want the most. I’m 66 years old, and I need the energy!
Sandy, I truly do hope it helps you. Keep me posted.
“Sandy Johnson” states:
“Another thing that stands out to me is the fact that some people can’t just post their opinion, and leave it at that. It’s like they have a vested interest in seeing this product fail.”
The exact same thing can be said about those who are making unsubstantiated and false claims about the product. They have a vested interest in making money off the product. Don’t act as if this is just a one way street. When you have ambassadors urging others to give it to children and that it cures ADHD, auto-immune disorders, and virtually every ailment known, then you might want to question its validity. Well, that and the fact that the FDA came after them.
Hey Sandy. Just wanted to say good luck. So far, I’m loving it. I feel better than I’ve felt in 30 years. The best thing you can do is decide for yourself. Don’t let anyone decide for you.
Sandy,
That is great to hear about your daughter. Also, you have hit the nail on the head with your post. You saw actually results and didn’t just go by hearsay. That is what is the most important. I’m happy for your daughter and I hope that you get results also.
Please ignore those on here that display nothing but animosity toward the product (one in particular loves to quote people on here). They refuse to believe that some of us have had great results.
Take care and and great luck to you.
M
M writes:
“Please ignore those on here that display nothing but animosity toward the product (one in particular loves to quote people on here). They refuse to believe that some of us have had great results.”
Two things – 1, I thought you were “done” with me and 2, remember when you said “No need to rebut. However, if you do, then we know that you have an image to protect.”? Guess what you’re doing by dragging me into your response?
You may also want to revisit your statement above. Never have I refuted that you have had “results”, only that Plexus is the cause of them. I realize that a woman so superior as you can overlook a fine point like that, what with all the Plexus meetings you attend and such. It’s nice to see that you are completely incapable of doing what you said you would, numerous times now.
Hey, Michael. I never said it would work for me, or anybody else. I saw what it did for my daughter, otherwise I wouldn’t be trying it. If the products Dr Oz promotes on his show worked, nobody would be fat, or sick. I’m pretty much obese, so when I diet I usually lose 5 pounds in the first week. If I don’t lose more than that with Plexus, I will be disappointed.
I have placed my order, but I don’t intend to start on it till the first of the year. I will give an honest report on how it did, or did not work for me. I kept a diary of my last diet, and I know how many calories I had each day, and how much weight I lost each week. I’m going to follow that as closely as I can to see if my results improve with Plexus.
I didn’t go into this thinking about losing weight, since I’ve pretty much decided I’ll die an old fat woman. I decided to do it because of the claims that you actually feel better, and have more energy. My daughter says she did not diet while taking it, but she lost 4 pounds, anyway. I can tell you, she is not like me. I see cake, I eat it. She sees cake, and she says, no thanks. Where as she does not diet, she always watches what she eats.
I don’t think you can call it a diet, if that is your life style. I have no doubt I will lose weight. I always do, but it has to do with cutting calories, and moving around more. I will be anxious to see if the Plexus makes a difference in the number of pounds I lose each week. I look at this as an experiment, and nothing more. I hope it works!
My comment about people having an agenda, is the result of seeing posts from competitors that have a vested interest in seeing products other than their own fail. We all know that happens. When I see someone so intent on tearing a product down, and spending days posting about it, that throws up a flag to me.
If you want an honest result, come back after the first week in January. I’m not going to sugar coat anything, and I’m not going to post day in and day out. Goodbye until January!
Sandy,
One thing that I want to share with you is that I lost more than just weight, I lost inches, which is what is seems your daughter did also. That is the change that I noticed the most with Plexus. Some people focus on the weight lost, but it really goes hand-in-hand with reduction in measurements. So, don’t get too discouraged if you don’t lose in weight, because you will definitely notice your clothes fitting looser.
I’m excited for you. Good luck and I look forward to your follow up next year.
M
Sandy
I really am sorry about you being obese. But, you are right, you will die an old fat women if you keep the mind set you have now. Let’s pray you don’t. Sandy, you need to quit listening to M and others that sell PS. Keep in mind, they sell the stuff, and like most the ambassadors, do not always tell the truth Remember they have a vested interest in PS, which is really a conflict of interest. Most all these are fad diets, and yes PS is one. Most are sold through MLM channels where people are obligated to buy the products. The company knows the product could not compete on the open market, so they hire a bunch of uninformed bimbos to not sell, but to recruit, people so they can recruit more. The product, PS is just the front to make the scheme (pyramid) appear to be legal.
Sandy, I guarantee you, after, or before you by PS, some one will start badgering you to be an ambassador, because recruitment is where the real money is made. Let us know when this happens.
I would imagine someone like M sold you on the idea of PS is not a weight-loss product, but a wellness product to make you feel better. Read what is says on the packaging, WEIGHT-LOSS PRODUCT.
Sandy, you must be unaware that PS change the formulation of PS, why, I don’t know, and took one product off the market at the demand of the FDA (PS Accelerator). Well, needless to say, the reformulated products did not work as well as the initial ones. So, they come out with this new crap about PS being a wellness product. A statement made with not a stitch of proof behind it. Well, except for the testimonials from people selling the stuff. Per M of course.
Sandy, go to a nutritionist and learn the right way to lose weight and keep it off. Your money will be better spent, and without the hassle.
Good luck, and please listen to people who know what they are talking about.
Sandy
I look forward to reading your results as I’ve been debating whether to try this product or not. I currently have a sample in the mail coming out to me – mainly for a taste test lol! – so your review will be in good time for me. Hope it works for you but please be totally honest as you said you would!! Thanks 🙂
“the idea of PS is not a weight-loss product, but a wellness product to make you feel better”
What Pete said here is completely true. I’ll take it one step further. In the beginning, PS was billed as a magical way to shed pounds like never before. The testimonials were all before & after shots just like any other miracle weight loss advertising we’ve seen in the past. Then, when the new wore off, people had to go on accelerator if they really want to see results (i.e. continued weight loss). After that, PS ambassadors were given marching orders to tell folks “it’s not about the weight loss, it’s about the wellness”. Immediately after, PS began pushing ProBio, BioCleanse, X-Factor, and every other type of snake oil product they could (breast cream, for real?!?).
When that wore off, the new message was “Plexus Freedom”, trying to convince the masses that this was a way for women to quit their dead-end jobs and make the big bucks off selling this stuff. Huge conventions and all expense paid vacations started popping up. The big dogs who were at the top had their downlines pathetically parrot talking points on their Facebook pages about how “excited” they were to see their uplines living it up in Hawaii and Florida on spending sprees and how they would get there one day.
Now, they introduce a new product, Block, which is nothing more than a carb blocker that has been on the market before and been shown not to work. The ambassadors are pitching it as a way to shed holiday pounds, so we’re back to weight loss once again.
Sandy, these PS products are unregulated as are most supplements on the market. For all we know, they are made in China or some other country that uses cheap labor. Plexus can then sell it for a huge profit margin and keep the game going. Use some common sense when you decide to ingest this stuff. People will say “all natural” and “clinically proven”. Those terms have no value as they are unregulated by the FDA. Neither can be substantiated due to PS’s refusal to disclose where they manufacture their products and their refusal to have the products tested.
I fear you may be waiting for a long time. Numerous times on this site, people have said the very same thing. I’m going to try it and report back. So far, nobody has done that. They mysteriously disappear and never come back with rave reviews on this supplement line.
Be aware, Pauline, this company has already been warned by the FDA about the claims it has made, had products banned in other countries, and has so far failed to produce any clinical studies to verify the ingredients in its products or verify the claims it makes.
Ok, thanks Michael. I’m leaning more towards the negative but will try the sample as my hubby is keen for me to…. I keep my word,
so will at least report the taste on here!!! lol! IF I try it for the 1 month I’ll give a little review as well.
I started taking Plexus Slim about 4 weeks ago. I started before the year end holidays. I have changed my diet slightly to lower calories and fat. I have also started drinking 130 ounces of water per day and drastically cut back on drinking soft drinks.
I exercise about 3 times a week and sit at a desk most days.
I have lost 14 lbs so far. I do feel like I have more energy. I don’t feel the need for afternoon naps.
I recommend it.
Brent, I’m happy it’s working for you. 14 pounds in 4 weeks is a lot. I believe a lot of what you lost is water. Just want to point that out. The weight loss will probably slow down a bit from now on but that’s usually a sign that now the weight loss is mostly fat.
From what you said you made some significant changes to your life which I believe contributed to your weight loss. Either way, I’m glad you’re making progress.
Thought I would come back and check in. The only big problem with the product is the price for me. I love the products themselves, but I don’t really make enough money to keep buying them, and I’m not one to try and push products on anybody else.
I decided to not buy the Slim for a month and just keep taking the probiotics and the cleanse that I still have. After 2 days of not having my Slim, I haven’t seen/felt a big difference yet. I’m still sleeping fine (I had insomnia before) and I don’t have the aches and pains that I had for the 30 years before starting on the products.
I’m still not exercising and eating like I should, but so far, no weight/inches gained back. I only lost 3-4 inches. I’m sure that will come back eventually, if I don’t get with the program and start some kind of exercise and healthy food program. Good luck to those who are sticking with it.
Not sure if I stated this before, but one of the biggest reasons I tried it was, my daughter had heard that it would help with my chronic acid reflux and food allergies, and it has done that. Before I took the products, I was in the bathroom hurting and throwing up my toenails at least once per month. It seemed like I couldn’t eat anything! I haven’t been sick since I started taking them. I really hope that mess doesn’t return. 🙁
Melinda, thanks for writing back and I’m glad you are feeling better. I hope the throwing up continues to stay away too!
Thanks! I’ll try to check back from time to time.
When I signed up, I signed up as an ambassador, because I was told that I could get the products cheaper that way. I will probably keep my ambassador status for the discount. Someone told me that if you are a preferred customer, you get the ambassador’s price after the 3rd consecutive month, but I don’t think you can skip a month (or 2) like I’m doing. I think you probably have to start all over again if you do that. Not really sure.
Melinda, sounds good and I’ll look forward to it.
Hi Joe,
I wanted to inform you that all Plexus products have a 60 day money back guarantee for retail and preferred customers. All you have to do is keep the containers and call the number on the website. If you buy it from an individual, they should give you the refund and then make the process with the company. I noticed a lot of people saying they wished they would have gotten their money back. I would have been upset and wanted a refund if the products didn’t work for me like I expected. 🙁 So for those who are interested in trying the product and worried about wasting the money, keep your containers and if you don’t like the product send it back and get your money back to try something else.
I hope this helps in your research. By the way, thank you for sharing your knowledge and taking time to research what your followers believe to be important. I appreciate your unbiased opinion and feedback.
Lcwink, yes thanks for saying that. I have updated my review to include the 60 day money back guarantee. As I was updating I noticed the Better Business Bureau mentioned that the 60 days might differ according to whether people were Ambassadors or customers. here’s the BBB file for those who want to see it http://www.bbb.org/phoenix/business-reviews/multi-level-selling-companies/plexus-worldwide-inc-in-scottsdale-az-15006936/
I also linked to it in my review too.
Joe
After a reasonable time posting, and I hit post comment, I get a too much time notification. Retry. Any suggestions.
Pete, that’s odd. that’s the first Im hearing about this. Anybody else getting the same notification?
I get it as well. Usually have to refresh the page to get a post to go through.
Michael, thanks. I tried it and it worked fine for me. What browsers are you using? I was using Firefox. I’m going to look into this.
Joe
Seems like it only happens when I use the reply button. If I go directly to the bottom, and use that box, it doesn’t happen.
Pete, thanks Im going to consult some people about this. BTW, since we talk a lot here about pyramid schemes here, I thought I’d pass along that the FDA has temporarily shut down Vemma, which has a variety of dietary supplements. Here is the link: https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/press-releases/2015/08/ftc-acts-halt-vemma-alleged-pyramid-scheme
Joe
Thanks for the update on Vemma. Because of more and more people being duped out their hard earned money, the Feds are finally getting more involved. PS day is coming. MLM is sort of like death, you know it’s coming, you just don’t know when.
M
Did you not say? “I don’t want to argue with people on here, I am one of the few individuals for the product, NOT BECAUSE I SELL IT AND WANT TO PROFIT FROM IT, but because I have had a good experience with it, and I like it.”
Save money by being an ambassador? Somebody threw you curve, M. We have discussed this before. Just like most all MLM products, PS is ridiculously over-priced. And, to keep from repeating myself, I will let you figure out why.
And, please, don’t get selling confused with recruiting, which is what you really do. You make $175,000? Other than the fact someone is over-paying you, who cares. Today, that wouldn’t support a family of four.
“Been there, heard it”. Only an attempt to NOT use the old cliché, “been there, done it.”
M
You can find your statement on selling PS on a post YOU made on Oct. 31st at 5:55 pm. Paragraph three.
I have been reading all the back and forth for months now and there are two things that stand out amid all the arguments.
Plexus is no different than any other quick weight loss drink that is and has been on the market. They all promise the same thing, some see incredible results and one can make loads of money if they sign up 100’s of people under them.
The one thing they all have in common, is NONE of them address why the person was overweight in the first place. The percentage of people who are overweight/obese because of genetics or illness, is very, very small. Not addressing the underlying issues as to why someone is overweight, will guarantee the weight will come back on.
Second, if these diets are so awesome, then there is no reason in the world to continue on their products (maintenance or otherwise) once the weight is lost.
If one has lost weight the right way, changing eating habits, eating REAL food and exercise, it will stay off for life with no need for pink drinks, etc.
As for all the people whose health reports improve, it’s a no brainer. They are no longer eating all the crap food they had been consuming that has been making them sick. It’s not that hard people.
I do however have to say thank you to all these different companies. They are what keep me in business as a nutritional therapist.
Pete,
I guess I’m just an uneducated, brainwashed, unintelligent (and whatever else you’ve called me) individual, who has had success and positive outcome from using PS. It is what it is. I feel great.
Plexus works!!
Good day.
M
M
You say, “I guess I’m just an uneducated, brainwashed, unintelligent (and whatever else you’ve called me) individual, who has had success and positive outcome from using PS. It is what it is. I feel great.” M, that’s exactly as I see you, without meeting you. Thanks!
What’s amazing to me is that you and the ambassadors who support PS actually believe the “junk” they are saying, about the “junk” they are promoting, but that doesn’t make it any less “junk”.
Pete,
You sure do like to “quote” people.
You don’t even know how I learned about Plexus, so how can you say that I believed the “junk”. You are making an assumption or speculating that I was badgered by an ambassador to try it. Well, that’s not the case.
What I believe are the results that I’ve seen in myself and my friends, along with other positives, not the “junk” that people are talking about. Seeing and experiencing is believing.
Plexus Works!!
Good Day.
M
Lou, Welcome! Ive never heard of Genesis Pure but did look them up. They have a LOT of products. I did notice they sell a coral calcium product which I believe is over hyped and not needed. Was there one product specifically you were curious about?
Joe, I just started taking the coral calcium because I have trouble swallowing large pills and it is a liquid. I’m hoping this can replace the calcium/D I used to take but stopped due to getting choked. As far as the other products, my friend SWEARS on the 3 basic “core” products 1)Cleanse, 2)Daily Build, and 3)Go-Yin (cleanse, balance, build). I’m wondering if it’s really the “miracle” supplements she claims.
She’s not trying to make money with it, she is actually purchasing it and giving it to her family and friends because she is so passionate about the product and its benefits. Any input you can give me would be great! Thanks in advance!
Lou, when I see the word cleanse, I think “laxative” because many cleanses contain things that are laxatives. Taking laxatives/cleanses for weight loss doesn’t really work because laxatives work in the large intestine – where the poop is. they do not work at the small intestine – where we absorb calories.
Im not aware of any good proof that cleanses do anything other than that and because of this, I dont think they are needed. As for the Daily Build product, it just looks like a lot of stuff that may or may not be better than a regular multi vitamin. I’d ask Genesis Pure if they have any research showing that their products work better than a multi vitamin.
I’m not convinced that coral calcium builds bones better than calcium carbonate supplements. I did see a study many years ago that coral calcium had a bit more magnesium than other calcium supplements. magnesium does help calcium absorption but Ive never seen a head to head comparison between coral calcium and other calcium types.
Are you sure you are not getting enough calcium from food? Remember a cup (8 oz) milk has 300 mg of calcium. I say this because you may not even need a calcium supplement. If you are not sure how much calcium you are getting, maybe you can meet with an registered dietitian who can look at your foods and see if you are or arent. Here is how to find an RD in your area http://www.eatright.org/programs/rdnfinder/ just click “I agree” at the disclaimer. I dont know why they make people agree to a disclaimer….
Have you ever had a DEXA scan that says you need more calcium? If not, see if your doctor can get you one.
Is the lady who is giving out the products, a distributor?
