Superfoods are those foods that are touted to be better for us than others due to their greater nutrient density. In other words, they provide lots of nutrients but have few calories. Examples include berries, cruciferous vegetables, teas, and nuts. Foods may be also called super because they contain higher concentrations of specific compounds (such as sulforaphane, CBD, omega 3 fatty acids, fiber, etc.) that are thought to provide special health-promoting effects. Superfood dietary supplements may appear as bars, liquids gel, caps or powders.
