Update 9/14/19. What are raspberry ketones and do they work? Well, if you watch the Dr. Oz Show, you may have heard Dr. Oz call raspberry ketones “The #1 miracle in a bottle to burn your fat.” Since he made that bold statement, I've heard that raspberry ketone supplements are sold so fast that vitamin stores can't keep them on the shelves! So, what I'd like to do is review the raspberry ketone research — minus the hype that you have already heard about. Only in this way can you make an informed decision about whether raspberry ketone is right for you. Other names for this supplement include red raspberry ketone, and European red raspberry, as well as the more scientific names Rubus idaeus, Rubus strigosus and Framboise Rouge. I'm telling you these other names because if you just searched for “raspberry ketone” you may not find all of the information available. For this review, I'm pretty much going to stick to just calling it raspberry ketone.
What Are Raspberry Ketones?
Red raspberry ketones are one of many compounds in raspberries and are what gives raspberries their unique smell. Like all things that come from fruits and vegetables, raspberries contain a lot of substances that are healthy —including anthocyanins, vitamin C and beta carotene. As such, raspberry ketones are also antioxidants.
Raspberry ketones also “look” similar to synephrine and capsicum — two ingredients that have been used in many weight loss supplements over the years such as the fat burner promoted by Jillian Michaels. This similarity is likely why scientists considered raspberry ketones as a weight loss agent itself.
Weight loss supplements that contain raspberry ketones include QuickTrim — the Kim Kardashian supplement —and Apidexin. See my reviews on those products for more information.
Ketone trivia. The name ketone is a chemistry term. That's not important. I just thought people might like to know where the word came from. On some websites they spell ketone as “keytone” but this is an incorrect spelling of the word. Again, not important.
Tip. Keep in mind as you read this review that raspberry ketones are not the same thing as ketones that are made when people go on low-carb diets or in people who are diabetic. Those ketones are not the same as raspberry ketones.
Raspberry Ketones And Weight Loss
When Dr. Oz asked his fitness expert, Lisa Lynn (more about her below) on TV, how she found out about the weight loss properties of raspberry ketones, Lisa said “Research research research.” So, I looked up the research on raspberry ketones and this is what I discovered.
In a study published in 2005, titled the Anti Obesity Action of Raspberry Ketone, the supplement was given to mice that were fed a high-fat diet for several weeks. Mice were split into different groups, each getting the same calories but getting different amounts of raspberry ketones (either 0.5%, 1% or 2%).
The diets were about 40% fat in each group. Researchers noted that raspberry ketones — that made up between 1% and 2% of total calories — caused a reduction in body weight and fat buildup in the livers of mice after 10 weeks of use, compared to mice that only were fed a high-fat diet.
Norepinephrine (also called noradrenaline ) is a chemical made in the adrenal glands that act as a neurotransmitter and does many things, one of which includes helping to burn fat. This study also incubated isolated mouse fat cells in norepinephrine along with raspberry ketones to see what would happen.
The researchers observed that the combination of raspberry ketones and norepinephrine caused more fat to leave the fat cells than norepinephrine alone.
This is why Dr. Oz said raspberry ketones cause fat cells to shrink.
I'm telling you this because various websites claim that raspberry ketones increase levels of norepinephrine. However, this study did not show that.
Rather, the researches only showed that raspberry ketones appeared to improve the fat-burning ability of norepinephrine.
This is actually a good thing because too much norepinephrine can be bad. For example norepinephrine can raise blood pressure.
Oddly, this study noted that while a 1% intake of raspberry ketones tended to raise triglyceride levels in the mice, eating it at a concentration of 5% of total calories tended to reduce triglycerides.
These researchers also quoted previous studies noting that raspberry ketones raised metabolic rates—in rats. That's interesting, but where's the proof that raspberry ketones raise metabolism in people?
Bottom Line: This was just a mouse study —and a small study at that! Each group only had 6 mice.
Also, if we really want to be technical, all the mice were male. What about female mice? Would raspberry ketones have the same weight loss effects in female mice —or more importantly —women?
In another study, published in 2010, researchers found that red raspberry ketones inhibited weight gain and improved fat burning in mice that were fed a high-fat diet. Researchers also noted that raspberry ketones increase levels of adiponectin, a hormone made in fat cells.
The Wikipedia page on adiponectin goes into more detail, discussing how the hormone does a variety of things including improving the sensitivity of insulin— (good for diabetics).
Dr. Oz said that Adiponectin was the “hormone that tricks the body into thinking it's thin.”When we put on weight, we reduce the ability of the adiponectin hormone to work.”
Sounds good, but red raspberries have only been shown to reduce adiponectin in mice. What about people? Have raspberry ketone supplements been proven to help people lose weight by raising adiponectin levels? Nope. Not yet.
Tip. There is more evidence that exercise raises adiponectin levels than for raspberry ketones —and exercise has been shown to work in people!
One study from 2013 appeared to show that a supplement – containing raspberry ketones – helped weight loss. But there were several ingredients in that supplement. Also, of the 70 people who originally signed up, only 45 people made it to the end. That's a big drop amount.
There is a study published in 2017 that noted, that raspberry ketones might reduce food intake in mice who were fed a high-fat diet. Again, this is a mouse study.
So, what's the evidence for raspberry ketones and weight loss? It looks like some mouse studies. What about people?
Are Raspberry Ketones Better With Capsaicin?
Capsaicin is found in chili peppers and synephrine is an extract from oranges. Both have been used in weight loss products in the past. Because raspberry ketones “look” like both capsicum and synephrine, I predict that you will see weight loss products that have all three of these ingredients.
But, would they all work better together? I don't know because there is no proof either way. Because of that, I recommend you save your money on weight loss pills that combine (“stack”) capsaicin, synephrine, and raspberry ketones.
Synephrine, in particular, is not without problems. It can raise heart rate and blood pressure which can make it dangerous for a lot of people.
Who Is Lisa Lynn?
Dr. Oz called Lisa Lynn a “fitness expert” on his TV show when he did a segment on this supplement— but who is she? I checked into her background and found her website (LynFit.com) that notes that Lisa Lynn was the personal trainer of Martha Stewart.
Her website does indicate that Lisa holds multiple personal training certifications.
All this is fine but on her website, we see Lisa Lynn also has her own line of supplements (called “Lyn Fit”) She even has a raspberry ketone supplement on her website.
In a previous segment of the Dr. Oz show, Lisa Lynn also extolled the virtues of the metabolism booster/weight loss supplement, Coleus Forskohlii. Lisa has this supplement on her website also.
See the review on Coleus Forskohlii for more information.
Look, I'm sure she's a nice person and a great personal trainer —and I am all for capitalism – but where is all the raspberry ketone research? As far as I see, it's just some mouse studies.
How Much Raspberry Ketones Do You Need?
If raspberry ketones help people lose weight, how much works? Nobody knows because there are no human studies of raspberry ketones and weight loss. If we believe the mouse studies (which I don't), it appears that a concentration of 1% of total calorie intake might help weight loss. If that is correct, then the number of raspberry ketones needed would be different for different calorie intakes.
For example, a person who consumes 1800 calories per day would need less than a person who eats 2000 calories per day.
When asked “how much works” on the Dr. Oz Show, Lisa Lynn said to take 100 mg at breakfast— and if that didn't help, to go to 200 mg. Where did she get these numbers from? She doesn't tell us.
I guessing that this might be the human dose, extrapolated from what researchers gave the lab mice? But, I see no good proof that 100-200 mg of raspberry ketones per day helps people lose weight. It might—but I just don't know.
In this toxicology report on raspberry ketones, the authors mention a dosage of 100-1400 mg per day is often mentioned on the internet. That is a pretty big range, which again, says to me, nobody has any idea.
Raspberry Ketones And Appetite
Various websites make the claim that supplements can reduce appetite. But I see no proof of this. Even the mouse studies, do not state that raspberry ketone supplements suppress appetite.
Anti-Aging Effects Of Raspberry Ketones
Can raspberry ketone supplements slow down the aging process? Do they reduce wrinkles? Well, red raspberry ketones do have some antioxidant effects but it's a long shot to go from that to say that they are “anti-aging.”
Raspberry ketones may be found in some cosmetics because they seem to have a skin whitening effect —at least in skins of mice. That's fine, but I recommend you save your money on raspberry ketone anti-aging supplements. They are not an “anti-aging superfood.”
For those who really want a “superfood,” eat raspberries! Here's why: antioxidants work best in small amounts and when they are eaten in combination with the other ingredients in food. Because of this fact, raspberries are better than raspberry ketone supplements when it comes to being healthy.
Raspberry Ketone Side Effects
In healthy people, raspberry ketones are probably safe. That said, those who are not healthy or take medications should speak to their doctor/pharmacist first. Here are a few things to consider when taking this supplement. This list is not complete.
- Start with less than recommended for the first week
- Pregnant or nursing women should also speak to their doctor
- Stop taking the product at least 2 weeks before having surgery
There are only trace amounts of raspberry ketones in raspberries so they are no the same thing as supplements. This toxicology report states that there is only 4.3 mg per 2.2 pounds of raspberries. Just because raspberries are safe does not mean concentrated supplements of raspberry ketones are also safe.
One of the mouse studies summarized above noted that raspberry ketones raised triglyceride levels. Does this mean they also raise triglycerides and cholesterol levels in people?
Since raspberry ketones appear to have some chemical similarity to synephrine, be careful if you have high blood pressure or heart conditions. Synephrine might raise blood pressure and heart rate.
A report from Denmark publishedhas raised some concerns that the supplement may have toxic potential but there is little human evidence for this.
Some have speculated that these supplements may be inappropriate for those with cancers that are sensitive to estrogen levels. This is based on a concern that raspberry ketones may have estrogen-like properties. Cancers that might be affected by this include breast cancer, fibroids of the uterus, endometrium cancer, and uterine cancer.
In the book Herbs of Choice raspberry leaf is said to help with pregnancy issues such as morning sickness and labor pains. The book also notes (p. 140) that raspberry appears to promote contraction of the uterus. That would not be good for pregnant women. Would the same be true for raspberry ketone supplements? I don't know.
Do these supplements raise blood pressure? I do not know, but if the leaf of raspberries cause the muscles of the uterus to contract, what effect would they have on the muscles of the blood vessels? Would they also contract (and raise blood pressure) or would they relax (and decrease blood pressure)? I don't know.
Remember, some raspberry ketone supplements may contain more than just raspberry ketones. Always check the labels to see what other ingredients a supplement may contain.
See What Weight Loss Supplements Work for a list of things I feel have evidence
Do Raspberry Ketones Work?
The research on raspberry ketones for weight loss is in its infancy. As such, I just don't know if this supplement helps people lose weight or not. The majority of research is a lab rat and lab mice research. Raspberry ketones may benefit in mice but what about humans? I'd like to see a real-life study of of 100 people followed for at least 6 months under real-life (not laboratory) conditions to judge its weight loss power.
If you are still thinking about trying raspberry ketones to help you lose weight, I suggest you go to your doctor and get your blood work done first —cholesterol, blood pressure, weight, liver enzymes, the works—and then get it done again in a couple of months to see if anything has changed.
There are a LOT of websites that sell raspberry ketones. If you read the comments here, you'll see how some people talk about how their credit card was charged more than once after they purchased a product. Know who you deal with. Make sure the raspberry ketone websites you deal with have a contact phone number with customer support people who can help you have questions.
If they are going to work, keep in mind that it might take 6 months before raspberry ketones help you lose weight. Oh, and if you watched the Dr. Oz show, you also heard that you still have to exercise and watch what you eat too. So, you have to eat right and exercise as well as take raspberry ketones. That sounds less like “a miracle in a bottle to burn fat” and more like common sense.

Okay, I’ve played guinea pig for this. I have been taking Pure Health Raspberry Ketone supplement for 4 weeks now. I take one (800mg) in the morning with water before breakfast and another 30 minutes before lunch with water. I have measured my weight everyday. When I started I was at 128 and today I am at 120.
Now before you get excited please note I have ALWAYS bounced between 128 and 120. My weight fluctuates depending on time of month, holiday’s, ect. I’ve been gluten free for about 2 years now. So I have always watched what I’ve had to eat. I keep a food diary with this great app called Lose It. According to this app my average consumption of calories is around 1,200. My carb intake being around a 55% weekly average. I exercise for at least 30 min 5 times a week (mix of cardio and strength training).
With that information, here’s what I’ve found… I have more energy. And it’s not the horrible jittery energy that only last for a little while. It’s nice because it GIVES me motivation to work out. I have noticed that it does *clean you out* of toxins in your body. Which IS good for weight loss.
I have noticed a reduction/ completely erased the cellulite the was forming on the back of my thighs. But for me I truly think most of that was my work outs and calorie counting. If Raspberry Ketones did have anything to do with weight loss it was from the extra cleaning out of toxins and for the energy it gave me. I honestly am happy with the product just for those reasons alone. I just bought more. I’ll write more in another month to note if my weight actually stays put or continues to fluctuate as it has always done. I’ll keep up with everything I’m already doing to make sure that the results aren’t skewed.
Thanks =]

Hi Dana , thanks for sharing and just wondering how your doing on the RK now ? Leanne 🙂
Alicia says
Will the weight come back on after I come off of ketones?
Joe says
Alicia, yes it will if you go back to eating what you normally eat. Also, there is no guarantee that raspeberry ketones will cause weight loss. It is basically just a stimulant.
DonnaMarie says
I purchased a bottle of RK just like the one shown in your article. I was about to try it today and decided to look up information on it. I am certainly glad I found your site and all of the comments posted. I am a little discouraged that I did not look this up before I spent the money on the product. Going to hit the gym instead! Thanks for the information!
Paige says
Thank you SO much for doing this research. Have lost 11lbs the good old fashioned way in the last three weeks, but was getting annoyed and wanted the ‘quick fix’ answer.
Unfortunately, there just isn’t one. Back to the gym, healthy eating and hard work!!
I’d also be interested to see whether or not people who lose a lot of weight with this product manage to keep it off when they finish? I’d guess not, I would assume the moment you stop taking the tablets, your body returns to normal – and the food your eating won’t be burnt off as fast?
Joe says
Paige, glad to help! Id guess the same thing would happen when people stopped taking them.

I drank one packet of SlimQuick RK this morning. Within an hour I felt nausea, my ears serve ringing & I felt lightheaded! Took my blood pressure and it was very high. Will be returning my Slm Quick to Wal Mart & walking more to lose weight!
Krista says
Hello! I am from Canada and also to got sucked in to try RK after I saw a link on FB then saw Dr. Oz segment! I ordered it online at night then decided to do more research right after.
I too had the same reporter testimonial only it was a different name and “from” a healthy living type magazine in the US. My research then found the same testimonial on different sites, word for word. I was duped!
I called the next morning and cancelled because I Knew I would continue to be charged. I went to Wal mart and bought a bottle. Then a few days later the RK arrived in the mail.
I called back and was tod that the shipment couldn’t be stopped once I ordered. But I’m only out 5$. Then I said to them I haven’t received the cleanse. It was held up at customs! So should be here this week. I’m out 4$ for those.
I had taken the RK for about a week and seem to be having a side effects so was searching to see if is was common and found you Joe! One of My side effect is constipation. I drink the water and have continued eating the same. So I went off them for a few days and increased my leafy green intake. To get back to normal. I just started back on them so will see if it occurs again.
Also I think they are making me sleepy! Seems a few hrs after taking one I’m tired. Will monitor this again.
Oh and I started taking my husbands probiotic pills with them to see if this would help constipation since I didn’t have a cleanse.
So anyone else experience this?
Thanks Joe for a great unbiased review. I can’t believe no studies were done and Dr Oz endorsed this. I never thought he would do this! Shame on him! I also was going to recommend this to a friend who is severally overweight, not now.
Joe says
Krista, thanks for writing and I hope your side effects go away. keep me posted. Let me know if you keep getting shipments of RK also. Those phoney baloney reporter testimonials are getting very popular online and I feel bad for those who get duped by them.
feel free to tell your friends about me too 🙂
Josh says
Joe,
Just wanted to say that I enjoyed your article. I too got caught up in the hype of the Dr. oz segment. I did some minimal research on the RK before I bought them. However, most of the research I did was verifying the quality of the RK.
I found a site, stating that it takes 1,000mg a day, of 100% Natural RK, with no fillers (African mango, caffinee, Gren Tea). They don’t make any dramatic claim to rapid weight loss and suggest to avoid sites that do. They do say 1-3 pounds of weight loss per week should be expected without altering your diet. It comes with a 90 day, No questions asked, money back guarantee. I purchased 180 day supply ( 3months for me and my girl friend).
I have been currently taking them for 10 days and have lost 4 pounds. I do four cardio workouts a week (300 calorie burn per. on a treadmill) and 2-3 days of weight training. I am on a relatively healthy meal plan and was on this meal plan and exercise regime for 4 week prior to taking the RK. I found that I had lost little to NO weight in the previous 4 weeks (Not sure if it was do to the weight training).
I will keep you posted on my results, and I was wondering if you think there is any correlation to the quality of the RK.
Joe says
Josh, Im sure there are probaly better RK supplements and worse ones out there but I have not seen anything about which might be the best quality.
Megan says
Josh – where were you able to find the one you chose? I have had a really hard time finding one without fillers.

Joe,
makes sense. Thanks for you input and clarification.

Hi , I’m a 45 year old woman , and six years ago I weighed 18 stone or 114 kilo ….. In June 2007 my life changed literally …. I joined my local gym , got personal training from a Brilliant Personal trainer , I could only afford to train with him once a week , but trained myself 5-6 days a week … I only ate non processed foods , took up juicing and drank water as I never had done before ….. The results ; well I lost on average a stone or over 6 kilo a month , and by feb 2008 I had dropped 9 stone in weight , that’s 57 kilo …. I went from a size 24 to a size 8 … I’ve no excess skin folds etc …. I put it down to good food , and good exercise ….vital for a good body shape and tone , especially for women weight training is so important ….
Six years on I’m still a size 8/10 , have settled at ten stone , but I never took one slimming aid or followed any gimmicky diet or fad …. Just ate what was natural and exercised …. It wasn’t easy , but the results were and are worth it …. My motto is always , if you don’t use it you’ll loose it and if you don’t buy junk then you can’t eat junk !! … Simple , if there is no temptation lingering in the presses then you can’t go wrong …..

Joe, do you know if anyone has confronted Oz about the lack of research done on the Ketones? A lot of people trust him and what he puts out on his show, but it seems like he’s not really in it to enlighten anybody. Thanks
Joe says
Steve, I really have no idea if this has ever happened. I really believe he means well but that the people who do this research for him, are under such great stress to provide natural alternatives -on a daily basis for his show – that they miss things.
steve says
Joe, thank you for the time you put in to research this subject. It sure makes it easier for the rest of the world to make an educated decision on whether to purchase RK’s. I’d like to add some, encouragement, perhaps, to anyone trying to lose weight.
First, a little background…I’m 40 years old and have managed to stay pretty fit the last 20 years. Running and lifting weights and such. But never really was dedicated enough to overhaul my diet to go with exercising. I always knew the importance of diet but would always fall under the “fast food” trap, or the “burgers and brats cookout” trap. I just couldn’t lose this small belly of irritating fat that I have been carrying around for 15 years, but I also knew why I wasn’t.
Three months ago I got serious. I did a lot of research on carbs and protein intake and overhauled my diet and exercise routine. I lost 15 pounds in that 3 month span, Joe. 170 pounds is what I started at and now weigh 155. I can actually see my abs for the first time since high school. I didn’t realize how possible it was until I cut out fast food, and overeating carbs. I apologize for the lengthiness of this, but I want to share my accomplishment and how I got there so others may be encouraged.
Diet: water, water, water
Breakfast: plain oatmeal with a sprinkle of raisins and a table spoon of brown sugar. A mixture of nuts: peanuts, pecans, almonds, walnuts, and raisins.. A small handful of each is sufficient. And one fruit.
Brunch: one hardboiled egg (eat the yolk), total bran cereal with milk, and one fruit
Lunch: one to two chicken breasts, your choice of a legume (beans), baby tomatoes, cucumber slices, bell pepper slices, some tuna, and a pickle wedge. And a fruit
Mid-day: hardboiled egg (eat the yolk), and a fruit
Dinner: plain yogurt with active cultures, one chicken breast, mixture of veggies, and a fruit.
Keep in mind, I’m in a deployed location and don’t have the luxury of mixing up my food preference. So I’m eating the same diet every day. It got old but I’m kind of used to it now.
Exercise: water, water, water
30 to 45 minutes on the treadmill with a 15% incline, every other day.
This is a killer workout and is largely the reason I lost 15 pounds. I started out walking at 3mph for most of the workout but never moved the incline. I always kept it at 15%.
After three months of this routine, I now spend the first 15 minutes running at 4 to 4.5 mph and for the remainder of the workout I move up or down in speed depending on my energy level. Always going uphill. Massive calorie burn, plus a low fat smart diet=weight loss. To keep from losing any lean muscle, I do a 15 minute circuit of push-ups, dips, and pull ups after the run. 1 hour in the gym and there is not one dry spot on my shirt.
The only miracle drug is discipline, combined with diet and regular exercise. I hope my experience encourages others. Go hard or go home.
Joe says
Steve, thanks for writing and Im glad I could help in some small way. Its you who did all the hard work though – wow 15% incline on the treadmill! Thanks much for your words and continued success!!

Hello – fabulous research, just spent ages reading through everyone’s comments and taking it all in.
I’m 16 years of age ( I know you’re all gonna say I’m too young to be taking them but please don’t) and I recently bought the cleanse premium and raspberry ketone – a 2 month lasting bottle of each.
Gonna take them all in the summer holidays and see what happens. I am going to be wary, and if I notice anything bad happening I will stop taking them.
Joe says
Taylor, glad you found my website useful and much success! Let me know what happens. Cheerio! 🙂
Louise says
So glad to hear you say that you’ll wait until your summer holiday to start – you need to concentrate on your studies before diet. Raspberry ketones seem to have helped me so far, but I’ve also worked hard at losing weight and strictly calorie controlling whilst taking them. I’ve been using an app called My Fitness Pal which has helped tremendously. GOOD LUCK
Taylor says
Yeah, I thought so 🙂 I’m a little apprehensive, and also thought taking them then would be more sensible in case I develop any weird side affects.
I eat relatively healthy now, stick to my five a day etc, but I’m probably bigger than I should be due to thyroid problems… I’m gonna get that app then, and see if it helps…
anywho, we’ll see what happens 🙂
Joe says
Taylor good luck 🙂
Ashleigh says
Hey Joe – great research. I’m a student, and recently found myself purchasing the raspberry ketone and cleanse premium…
I was wondering what you thoughts were on the cleanse? I’ve had both the ketone and cleanse for a while but haven’t used them yet, in fear of any side effects etc, so figured I should probably do some research before taking them – and then I found this which is perfect.
I got a 2 month bottle of each from this website dailydiettips.co.uk/women-weight-loss-s/?keyword=weight%20loss%20diet%20fast&source=search&ad=2
On reading the article (something I was both skeptical about and amazed at the same time) I wondered what your thoughts on it were? The reporter taking the capsules took 1 of each every day, although the bottle suggests taking two of each which was confusing… She did lose lots of weight, but I am still unsure of whether to count this source as reliable.
How would you recommend I take the pills?
Anyway, thank you for some brilliant research x
Joe says
Hi Ashleigh, I looked at the website but didn’t see any thing by a reporter but as I was just saying yesterday a new trend in selling supplements online are websites that appear to be written by a reporter who said she had success with a weight loss supplements. I know over there in the UK, there has been a lot of talk about a reporter at channel 4 but when I looked into her she didnt exist. So I would take all “I lost weight with this supplement” stories from reporters with a big grain of salt. Sometimes these blogs appear on websites that even look like the TV station themselves (always look at URL for the website to see if it is. when you do, you’ll see the website is different than the website for TV station etc).
the fact that there is a discrepancy between what the “reporter” said and the website says would make me suspicious also. I looked up Daily Diet Tips and discovered it was registered in canada in Jan of 2012. Here is the “Whois” report on it. http://www.whois.com/whois/dailydiettips.co.uk
When I goggled the address of the person who registered the website, it goes to his house! Here is the google street view of the address:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=554+Rouge+Hill+++++++++Scarborough+++++++++Ontario+++++++++M1C+2Z8&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x89d4dbdc47c91acd:0x93dffc5ce90edb96,554+Rouge+Hills+Dr,+Toronto,+ON+M1C+2Z9,+Canada&gl=us&ei=wX5yUc7CNdO20QH26YDAAQ&ved=0CDQQ8gEwAA
when it comes to cleanse supplements, remember that cleanse = laxative. by looking at the ingredients – which are mostly fiber – you will see this is true. that said Im not a fan of any cleanse supplement that contains senna, which I think can be dangerous if too much is used.
I dont know if RK will help you help or not but if you do use them, Id start with less than what they recommend to see how you will react.
Ashleigh says
I knew there was something more! Is this the website which charges subscription?
Thank you for all your advice – very beneficial and informative.
I’ll keep you posted… Going to take them in July time I should think… Maybe sooner. Decided I am going to take one of each pill a day, and up the intake if I don’t get any side effects.
Anyway – Thank you! x
Joe says
Ashleigh, does my website charge subscription? nope. its all free 🙂
Ashleigh says
Joe, I need your help! Basically, I’ve been charged £75 for the raspberry ketones and I dob’t want them and it’s on my dad’s credit card and I am gonna be in so much trouble! What do I do????
Joe says
Ashleigh, Id call the company and tell them to not ship the raspberry ketones. Id also the credit card company and see if they can help.

Joe says
sorry to hear that. good luck. hope you didnt get into too much trouble with your dad

Ron See. Ive heard of Wheat Belly but have not read it. I should try to get it on Audible.com and listen to it.
Daniel says
So I started eating a healthy diet in early January and lost 14 pounds within the next month. For the next 3 weeks, I didn’t lose anything, so I turned to Forza’s Raspberry Keytones, which are more expensive than most others….As a ‘fat burner’ supplement I figured it made sense to start working out each day too alongside them, to get the maximum effects – Nothing too drastic, but around 15 minutes of skipping in the morning, and some tonal exercises later in the day, coupled with around 1600 cals a day, (40g of carbs, 30g of fat) – and sugar free drinks. The next 14 pounds flew off instantly, and not only that, but muscle definition started to appear too. I have since lost another 7 pounds, resulting in a 35 pound loss in 2 and a half months. I have felt, or looked, better.
So my bottle is about to run out….
I’m now left wondering was it the Raspberry Ketones that helped my body burn the extra weight, or just the little bit of exercise I did each day alongside a healthy diet? Or was it a combination of all three? Would I still look like this without the Raspberry Ketones? I don’t know.
I can’t find any information anywhere to tell me how long you’re supposed to take these for? When do you stop? I’m almost at the end of the road, and merely pounds away from my target weight – I’m now faced with the choice or buying another supply, or continuing my regime without them? I don’t want to stop getting any results from stopping them, but don’t want to become dependent on them either?
Tough choice…
Any advice would also be appreciated.

HI Daniel, Im inclined to believe its the other stuff that caused your weight loss etc. It sounds like you really made an effort if ou know the grams of carbs, fat and protein you were eating! I think you can do with out the raspeberry ketones but as long as you have no side effects and it helps you stick to your already very good results, I dont see a problem in keeping up with what you are dong. You dont need to keep taking them forever and as long as you keep doing what you are dong, I believe you will keep the weight off and keep seeing results. I hope that helps Daniel and congrats on your progress 🙂

I went to my 5 year cancer free checkup today at Hulston Cancer Center. My doctor was pleased with my labs. We discussed weight loss and she gave me the advice not to try the Raspberry Ketones. Since I’ve had estrogen related breast cancers she said some research showed that it might affect my estrogen levels. I’ve been on an estrogen blocker for 5 years…I’m not ready to rock the boat. (wish I could send back the bottle I received in the mail today). Also wish I had waited to talk to my doctor before ordering the product. Thanks for the info on this site!!!!

I have read through your thread and I am willing to keep you updated on a two month go at this raspberry keytone. The best way to test this product out is to try it. I need to currently drop around 30-40 pounds. I will add the ketone to my normal day to day life and see if it has any effect. CS

Thanks Cody, I hope it helps you.

I heard an ad on the radio for this the other day, one of those commercials that say “Only 100 trial offers left! Call now!”. I thought, what the hey, I’ll call and see what they say. I ended up ordering a 4 month supply at $35 per bottle.
I had to agree to give testimonials, and before/after pictures, and say its ok to use me in ads if they want. What I get in return for that:
1. All my money back at the end of the trial as long as I follow their guidelines in the package
2. A $50 gas card
3. Paid $5 for every pound I lose in the 4 month trial.
I understand what they’re doing. They’re trying to get as many people in the country to try their product and say they can be used in ads. They’re sending out thousands of these trials in the hopes of finding those 5 stories where people have miraculous results to use in advertising. I’m probably not going to be one of those people, but I’d be happy with any weight loss I might have.
I don’t know, maybe I’m a sucker and I won’t get my money back, but maybe its legit. Maybe I won’t lose weight, maybe I will. I wanted to try it because a few women I work with are using it, and they have lost around 20lbs each in 2-3 months, they claim they are not exercising.
I’m due to get my pills in the mail sometime this week. So we’ll see what happens. Great article! I’m glad that I have this knowledge going into this experiment.

Hi Joe
I have just started taking raspberry ketones and have noticed that after eating I am experiencing stomach cramps and diarrhoea . Could this be a result of the raspberry ketones?
Joe says
Anonymous, if thats the only thing you did differently, its possible. Ive never heard of that happening before but try stopping it and see if the cramps and diarrhea go away. Also if you are going to use RK, start with less than the recommended amount just to see how you respond to it. Thats always wise to do with all supplements.
