Update 9/14/19. What are raspberry ketones and do they work? Well, if you watch the Dr. Oz Show, you may have heard Dr. Oz call raspberry ketones “The #1 miracle in a bottle to burn your fat.” Since he made that bold statement, I've heard that raspberry ketone supplements are sold so fast that vitamin stores can't keep them on the shelves! So, what I'd like to do is review the raspberry ketone research — minus the hype that you have already heard about. Only in this way can you make an informed decision about whether raspberry ketone is right for you. Other names for this supplement include red raspberry ketone, and European red raspberry, as well as the more scientific names Rubus idaeus, Rubus strigosus and Framboise Rouge. I'm telling you these other names because if you just searched for “raspberry ketone” you may not find all of the information available. For this review, I'm pretty much going to stick to just calling it raspberry ketone.
What Are Raspberry Ketones?
Red raspberry ketones are one of many compounds in raspberries and are what gives raspberries their unique smell. Like all things that come from fruits and vegetables, raspberries contain a lot of substances that are healthy —including anthocyanins, vitamin C and beta carotene. As such, raspberry ketones are also antioxidants.
Raspberry ketones also “look” similar to synephrine and capsicum — two ingredients that have been used in many weight loss supplements over the years such as the fat burner promoted by Jillian Michaels. This similarity is likely why scientists considered raspberry ketones as a weight loss agent itself.
Weight loss supplements that contain raspberry ketones include QuickTrim — the Kim Kardashian supplement —and Apidexin. See my reviews on those products for more information.
Ketone trivia. The name ketone is a chemistry term. That's not important. I just thought people might like to know where the word came from. On some websites they spell ketone as “keytone” but this is an incorrect spelling of the word. Again, not important.
Tip. Keep in mind as you read this review that raspberry ketones are not the same thing as ketones that are made when people go on low-carb diets or in people who are diabetic. Those ketones are not the same as raspberry ketones.
Raspberry Ketones And Weight Loss
When Dr. Oz asked his fitness expert, Lisa Lynn (more about her below) on TV, how she found out about the weight loss properties of raspberry ketones, Lisa said “Research research research.” So, I looked up the research on raspberry ketones and this is what I discovered.
In a study published in 2005, titled the Anti Obesity Action of Raspberry Ketone, the supplement was given to mice that were fed a high-fat diet for several weeks. Mice were split into different groups, each getting the same calories but getting different amounts of raspberry ketones (either 0.5%, 1% or 2%).
The diets were about 40% fat in each group. Researchers noted that raspberry ketones — that made up between 1% and 2% of total calories — caused a reduction in body weight and fat buildup in the livers of mice after 10 weeks of use, compared to mice that only were fed a high-fat diet.
Norepinephrine (also called noradrenaline ) is a chemical made in the adrenal glands that act as a neurotransmitter and does many things, one of which includes helping to burn fat. This study also incubated isolated mouse fat cells in norepinephrine along with raspberry ketones to see what would happen.
The researchers observed that the combination of raspberry ketones and norepinephrine caused more fat to leave the fat cells than norepinephrine alone.
This is why Dr. Oz said raspberry ketones cause fat cells to shrink.
I'm telling you this because various websites claim that raspberry ketones increase levels of norepinephrine. However, this study did not show that.
Rather, the researches only showed that raspberry ketones appeared to improve the fat-burning ability of norepinephrine.
This is actually a good thing because too much norepinephrine can be bad. For example norepinephrine can raise blood pressure.
Oddly, this study noted that while a 1% intake of raspberry ketones tended to raise triglyceride levels in the mice, eating it at a concentration of 5% of total calories tended to reduce triglycerides.
These researchers also quoted previous studies noting that raspberry ketones raised metabolic rates—in rats. That's interesting, but where's the proof that raspberry ketones raise metabolism in people?
Bottom Line: This was just a mouse study —and a small study at that! Each group only had 6 mice.
Also, if we really want to be technical, all the mice were male. What about female mice? Would raspberry ketones have the same weight loss effects in female mice —or more importantly —women?
In another study, published in 2010, researchers found that red raspberry ketones inhibited weight gain and improved fat burning in mice that were fed a high-fat diet. Researchers also noted that raspberry ketones increase levels of adiponectin, a hormone made in fat cells.
The Wikipedia page on adiponectin goes into more detail, discussing how the hormone does a variety of things including improving the sensitivity of insulin— (good for diabetics).
Dr. Oz said that Adiponectin was the “hormone that tricks the body into thinking it's thin.”When we put on weight, we reduce the ability of the adiponectin hormone to work.”
Sounds good, but red raspberries have only been shown to reduce adiponectin in mice. What about people? Have raspberry ketone supplements been proven to help people lose weight by raising adiponectin levels? Nope. Not yet.
Tip. There is more evidence that exercise raises adiponectin levels than for raspberry ketones —and exercise has been shown to work in people!
One study from 2013 appeared to show that a supplement – containing raspberry ketones – helped weight loss. But there were several ingredients in that supplement. Also, of the 70 people who originally signed up, only 45 people made it to the end. That's a big drop amount.
There is a study published in 2017 that noted, that raspberry ketones might reduce food intake in mice who were fed a high-fat diet. Again, this is a mouse study.
So, what's the evidence for raspberry ketones and weight loss? It looks like some mouse studies. What about people?
Are Raspberry Ketones Better With Capsaicin?
Capsaicin is found in chili peppers and synephrine is an extract from oranges. Both have been used in weight loss products in the past. Because raspberry ketones “look” like both capsicum and synephrine, I predict that you will see weight loss products that have all three of these ingredients.
But, would they all work better together? I don't know because there is no proof either way. Because of that, I recommend you save your money on weight loss pills that combine (“stack”) capsaicin, synephrine, and raspberry ketones.
Synephrine, in particular, is not without problems. It can raise heart rate and blood pressure which can make it dangerous for a lot of people.
Who Is Lisa Lynn?
Dr. Oz called Lisa Lynn a “fitness expert” on his TV show when he did a segment on this supplement— but who is she? I checked into her background and found her website (LynFit.com) that notes that Lisa Lynn was the personal trainer of Martha Stewart.
Her website does indicate that Lisa holds multiple personal training certifications.
All this is fine but on her website, we see Lisa Lynn also has her own line of supplements (called “Lyn Fit”) She even has a raspberry ketone supplement on her website.
In a previous segment of the Dr. Oz show, Lisa Lynn also extolled the virtues of the metabolism booster/weight loss supplement, Coleus Forskohlii. Lisa has this supplement on her website also.
See the review on Coleus Forskohlii for more information.
Look, I'm sure she's a nice person and a great personal trainer —and I am all for capitalism – but where is all the raspberry ketone research? As far as I see, it's just some mouse studies.
How Much Raspberry Ketones Do You Need?
If raspberry ketones help people lose weight, how much works? Nobody knows because there are no human studies of raspberry ketones and weight loss. If we believe the mouse studies (which I don't), it appears that a concentration of 1% of total calorie intake might help weight loss. If that is correct, then the number of raspberry ketones needed would be different for different calorie intakes.
For example, a person who consumes 1800 calories per day would need less than a person who eats 2000 calories per day.
When asked “how much works” on the Dr. Oz Show, Lisa Lynn said to take 100 mg at breakfast— and if that didn't help, to go to 200 mg. Where did she get these numbers from? She doesn't tell us.
I guessing that this might be the human dose, extrapolated from what researchers gave the lab mice? But, I see no good proof that 100-200 mg of raspberry ketones per day helps people lose weight. It might—but I just don't know.
In this toxicology report on raspberry ketones, the authors mention a dosage of 100-1400 mg per day is often mentioned on the internet. That is a pretty big range, which again, says to me, nobody has any idea.
Raspberry Ketones And Appetite
Various websites make the claim that supplements can reduce appetite. But I see no proof of this. Even the mouse studies, do not state that raspberry ketone supplements suppress appetite.
Anti-Aging Effects Of Raspberry Ketones
Can raspberry ketone supplements slow down the aging process? Do they reduce wrinkles? Well, red raspberry ketones do have some antioxidant effects but it's a long shot to go from that to say that they are “anti-aging.”
Raspberry ketones may be found in some cosmetics because they seem to have a skin whitening effect —at least in skins of mice. That's fine, but I recommend you save your money on raspberry ketone anti-aging supplements. They are not an “anti-aging superfood.”
For those who really want a “superfood,” eat raspberries! Here's why: antioxidants work best in small amounts and when they are eaten in combination with the other ingredients in food. Because of this fact, raspberries are better than raspberry ketone supplements when it comes to being healthy.
Raspberry Ketone Side Effects
In healthy people, raspberry ketones are probably safe. That said, those who are not healthy or take medications should speak to their doctor/pharmacist first. Here are a few things to consider when taking this supplement. This list is not complete.
- Start with less than recommended for the first week
- Pregnant or nursing women should also speak to their doctor
- Stop taking the product at least 2 weeks before having surgery
There are only trace amounts of raspberry ketones in raspberries so they are no the same thing as supplements. This toxicology report states that there is only 4.3 mg per 2.2 pounds of raspberries. Just because raspberries are safe does not mean concentrated supplements of raspberry ketones are also safe.
One of the mouse studies summarized above noted that raspberry ketones raised triglyceride levels. Does this mean they also raise triglycerides and cholesterol levels in people?
Since raspberry ketones appear to have some chemical similarity to synephrine, be careful if you have high blood pressure or heart conditions. Synephrine might raise blood pressure and heart rate.
A report from Denmark publishedhas raised some concerns that the supplement may have toxic potential but there is little human evidence for this.
Some have speculated that these supplements may be inappropriate for those with cancers that are sensitive to estrogen levels. This is based on a concern that raspberry ketones may have estrogen-like properties. Cancers that might be affected by this include breast cancer, fibroids of the uterus, endometrium cancer, and uterine cancer.
In the book Herbs of Choice raspberry leaf is said to help with pregnancy issues such as morning sickness and labor pains. The book also notes (p. 140) that raspberry appears to promote contraction of the uterus. That would not be good for pregnant women. Would the same be true for raspberry ketone supplements? I don't know.
Do these supplements raise blood pressure? I do not know, but if the leaf of raspberries cause the muscles of the uterus to contract, what effect would they have on the muscles of the blood vessels? Would they also contract (and raise blood pressure) or would they relax (and decrease blood pressure)? I don't know.
Remember, some raspberry ketone supplements may contain more than just raspberry ketones. Always check the labels to see what other ingredients a supplement may contain.
See What Weight Loss Supplements Work for a list of things I feel have evidence
Do Raspberry Ketones Work?
The research on raspberry ketones for weight loss is in its infancy. As such, I just don't know if this supplement helps people lose weight or not. The majority of research is a lab rat and lab mice research. Raspberry ketones may benefit in mice but what about humans? I'd like to see a real-life study of of 100 people followed for at least 6 months under real-life (not laboratory) conditions to judge its weight loss power.
If you are still thinking about trying raspberry ketones to help you lose weight, I suggest you go to your doctor and get your blood work done first —cholesterol, blood pressure, weight, liver enzymes, the works—and then get it done again in a couple of months to see if anything has changed.
There are a LOT of websites that sell raspberry ketones. If you read the comments here, you'll see how some people talk about how their credit card was charged more than once after they purchased a product. Know who you deal with. Make sure the raspberry ketone websites you deal with have a contact phone number with customer support people who can help you have questions.
If they are going to work, keep in mind that it might take 6 months before raspberry ketones help you lose weight. Oh, and if you watched the Dr. Oz show, you also heard that you still have to exercise and watch what you eat too. So, you have to eat right and exercise as well as take raspberry ketones. That sounds less like “a miracle in a bottle to burn fat” and more like common sense.
Hi, I’ve read all your information and I’m thinking of taking the Razberry Ketones but I have had a bad stomach and shouldn’t take too much acid, do you have any information on how this would effect my stomach problems. I do eat blueberries and strawberries with no problem but can’t have tomatoes or OJ. Should I take it on a full stomach?
Also if I take the green coffee bean will it make me jittery like coffee does?
Thanks for your help.
Katt, Im not sure but if you do take it Id start with less than the recommended amount just to be safe. I also would not start taking green coffee bean and RK at the same time (not sure how you or your stomach will react).
Hi,
I am a type 2 diabetic on metformin. I took raspberry ketones and green coffee bean extract after watching dr. Oz. after 2 months I gained 5 lbs. I also take synthyroid. After lots of research I found that some people with thyroid issues may gain weight. Please don’t try these if you have any health issues. It may work for others but definitely not me.
Thanks
Joe;
Great article! I have been taking RK by Lean Body for 3 months now. I have dropped 20 pounds, and the only thing I changed was to take 100mg RK in the AM and 100mg RK at lunch time. I have had 3 Heart Attacks (MI’s) in the last 2 years, and my DR. will not generally let me use any Diet pills, but he said the RK >200mg daily should not cause much of an increase in my Blood Pressure, and should be safe. I will continue to use RK and start a work out routine and see if I loose any additional weight. Thanks for your hard work putting this article togather! I know I have researched RK for months, and I do not see any studies that state it works, but it is working for me. Thanks
Eric, while Im happy to hear it has helped you drop 20, Im surprised your doctor gave you the OK to try it given RKs chemical similarity to synepherine and your past history of heart attacks. Im glad you are doing ok with it.
hi Joe,
i am a 14 yr old who is quite self conscious about weight like many my age.
I am by no means overweight but im also not the weight i want to be.
i have recently been searching for a way to lose weight as i am going to spain with my class in the summer and am feeling a bit apprehensive.
During my search I stumbled across RK and thought i might give it a go as it has a free trial, but i thought it would be wise to research the claims provided by the website first.
your article has been good at bringing up some of the skepticisms i myself was also wandering about but after reading some of the comments i am quite split as the product seems to work for some yet not others.
I go to the gym regularly and eat as healthily as possible (but can by no means say i am leading a model lifestyle)
so I am going to try the RK and report back with my findings but just wanted to say your article and the comments posted here have been very useful.
Thank you
selfconsciousteen, thanks I’m happy that I was able to help and I do hope RK helps you. Do have a fun time in Spain either way 🙂
Thanks for the article. I lost 40 pounds last year just counting my calories and exercising but gained almost all of it back. My mom bought me some raspberry ketones for my birthday (along with a few other things Doctor Oz has recommended) but I’ve just now started taking them steadily as we’ll as getting back into counting calories and exercise.
I just like to look up reviews from time to time to keep me motivated and hope that the pills will help! It’s too soon to tell yet, for me, but I really enjoyed your blog. So much of the search results I get when searching for reviews of supplements is garbage or scammy sites trying to get me to buy from them. Thank you for breaking it all down, being honest, and writing a enlightening article!
Jen, thats very nice of you to say and Im happy you found me. That’s a very cute website you have also by the way 🙂
I am 29 and am 9 months clean from a 4 year Heroin addiction. Once I quit drugs (all of them, even smoking, I use e-cigs instead), I started putting on weight. I weigh more now than I have ever in my life. It has a lot to do with over eating, depression and just generally feeling lazy because of the long-term effect of opiate withdrawal. (This is sometimes referred to as heroin malaise).
Anyway, I picked up some raspberry ketone at a smoothie king and I dropped a pants size in about 2 weeks with no change in diet or lifestyle. I have now been taking it for nearly a month and can almost fit into my old pants… Yay, weight loss! I just hope I don’t lost the booty.
Anyway, I know I need to start exercising for sure… because that can help my brain produce more dopamine (am I right?) which is what heroin addiction effected. Anyhow, I will not call anything a miracle but I will stick with this raspberry ketone until I can finally get off my lazy butt and go for a run.
Something I have also wanted to try is a juice diet…. I watched the documentary “Fat, sick and nearly dead.” and it was inspiring. What do you think about that documentary (if you have seen it) or juice diets in general? Wow, this has become a long comment. Thanks so much for reading!
Hi Christi, I haven’t yet seen Fat sick and nearly dead but I do want to see it. I think juicing is fine but I’m more of a fan of smoothies because juices tend to remove the fiber from the food. The fiber, provides nutrients, helps regulate blood sugar and helps us feel full longer. If you want to toss in a juice drink a day I don’t think it will hurt you (and it does provide nutrients) and its a much better thing to do than heroin so I say do whatever it takes to stay clean and be healthy 🙂
Here is my smoothie recipe if you want to check it out.
congratulations by the way on staying clean for 9 months. I know that could not have been easy to do.
Have a terrific Christmas Christi 🙂
I started taking the premium raspberry ketone product about four months ago. The only thing I have altered is not using sugar instead resorting to Truvia. Also, do not drink soda at all of any kind, just water, juice, iced decaf tea or one cup of coffee in the AM a day. I have lost as of this posting 32 lbs. and two pant sizes. I eat like I always did and feel so much better. My diabetes is gone and my doctor is pleased with my other numbers as well. I take two capsules each evening with my meal.
Not eating sugar will cause an enormous amount of weightloss on its own.. Especially if you go from eating lots of sweets to eating them rarely or substituting truvia or Splenda. Just sayin!
Kay, my guess is by cutting out sugar, we reduce a lot of calories and thats what likely causes the weight loss. Id be especially careful of products that have high fructose corn syrup as mounting evidence is suggesting that this sugar knocks out our natural tendency to stop eating when we are full. It also seems to increase fat storage in the belly.
Still can not make out wether RKs are good bad or ugly. please advice. Thank u.
Personally I think its just a stimulant. I have seen no good proof it works
I have read all this with great interest.Like the rest of your readers I am concerned about my weight. I am a 60 year old woman still active and young in outlook but carrying unwanted pounds which age me and therefore depress me. I might try these just to see if they work. Could your readers recommend a particular strength and product for me to get here in the U.K?
Incidentally I have been on anti-depressants for many years and have recently weaned myself off them as my weight explodes when i take them. thatn in itself is depressing!!
Has anyone in the medical world ever considered the connection between anti -depressants and weight gain? There have never been so many users and at the same time obesity is on the rise!!
I really think there is a connection. Any comments out there?
Lindsay, weight gain with anti-depressants is something that does happen. Im not sure if it happens to everybody but it is something I hear others talk about.
Right now I don’t think any particular raspberry ketone product stands out from the rest. Id say if you were going to take it, get a product from a company that you have heard of. Id steer clear of any company that combines RK with other products (herbs etc) because if RK was so great, it should work by itself. I would also not buy any RK product from a website. its easy to make a website (here is my step by step website guide that makes a website in less than 1 hour) so its easy for fly by night companies to toss up a site and sell a product that they have made for them by others.
I take 200 mg at breakfast and 200mg at supper they are called slim centials. got them on line called the Razberi- k they are the original ones from Dr.oz.
Heather, hope they help you. keep in mind if they have RK in them then they are a stimulant
Hi, Good article. Just wanted to say I purchased a 2 part product that was thermogenic through the day and non thermo through the night. Without any change in my diet or routine over a period of 4 months I went from being 106 kg to 94kg. I have run out of these tablets and have remained around the 95 96 kg range.
These tablets had a combination of cayenne , raspberry ketones, caffeine , chemical out of dark chocolate and at night some gaba without the stimulants. I cannot attribute the weight loss to the raspberry ketones alone but to acknowledge that they were present in the supplement.
However very strangely my blood pressure has dropped from being high 150s to 162 / 101 – 112 to 138 143 ish / 89 to 97 ish. And has remained lower since. Cheers
hi Joe my name is Mary i am 125 pounds i am a pretty girl however i always been concerned with my weight i am using simple raspberry. i been using this product for a month and i haven’t seen any results
i also am very careful with what i eat. i mostly snack than having full meals, so my question is if a small girl like me hasn’t lose weight what would be the expectation for someone bigger?
the pills are over priced 60 dollars for the ones the is fda approved. would you recommend I something to do? i dint work out cuz i don’t have time but i am a pretty active person.
i am doing something wrong here? dr. OZ is informative and educates somehow people but i think before he recommends something he should have a study on real people first? i will do it. thank you Joe i love the article is real and it doesn’t take just one side of the product…
Hi Mary, If you haven’t lose any weight with RK in a month I would stop taking them. I’d point out that the FDA has not approved any raspberry ketone product. They don’t “approve” any supplements (they just have regulations on supplements) so any product that says they are “FDA approved” is lying to you. For more on this see my FAQ Page.
You said you don’t eat regular meals but instead snack. Have you ever written down what you eat and how much? That might give you an idea of how much you are eating. its easy to forget if you snack all day. If you have a smart phone try these free apps – My Fitness Pal and Lose It. they both let you calculate how much your eating as well as any exercise you do. I think that is a better idea for you than any weight loss supplement.
I have been seeing a weight loss doctor that offers supplements in pill and injection form to aid in weight loss. All are natural , amino acid supplements that do not interfere with any medications. I had been working out and trying to stick to a 1200 calorie a day diet. I did great the first few months…lost about 2-3lbs a week for the first couple months…but slowed down to 0-1lb per week. I stalled in my loss but not because I wasn’t working at it. I tried to switch up my workouts, etc. Nothing worked.
Then one day I see the Doc Oz show about the RK. I decided, what the heck, ill try it just to see.
Right at the time I started taking it, I had gotten drawn away from the weight loss doctor due to things going on in my life. I had not worked out in months..and even though I didn’t go day to day eating whatever I wanted, I was not “dieting” that’s for sure.
I was eating chocolate, having cocktails on the weekends…dinners out, etc. All the while still taking my Diet supplements and also the RK. I have not lost anything, but for me…knowing how little I have worked out ( almost non-exsistant) and not being very careful with my diet, not to gain anything is SHOCKING!!
I know I am not as lean and tight as I was when I worked out a lot…and Ive probably lost muscle…but not to have gained any weight…I’m thrilled. I plan to get back on track with my workouts…soon. I would like to lose another 20 lbs.
Michelle, glad RK has worked for you. As for that weight loss doctor, I’m generally skeptical of doctors that inject people with amino acids and vitamins to help with weight loss. I see no proof they work. Many of these doctors give people vitamin B12 injections. Ive seen this so much I’ve even written a review of Vitamin B12 and weight loss. Either way, happy you have found something that is helping you lose weight.
Heather, whom has lost 45 lbs in 3 mos. How may mg are you taking for breakfast and dinner. Which brand?
Thanks Joe and all. I guess the old saying still holds …..if it sounds too good to be true……
To those managing to keep the weight down/off, well done! I vary between being comfortable with me ‘curves’ and being slightly uncomfortable in my clothes but as yet have not found the strength or willpower to do anything about it! But I know the answer is not in a pill or supplement.
Dang! I agree with a lot of the stuff I just found on here Joe, But from what I read. I am glad I have not recommended this stuff. Too many variables for too many people. The weight comes right back on as far as I can read.
Frankly, I agree with the few on here that Dr OZ is pushing a lot of stuff & often he does not back it up with… check with your Dr. or Homeopath, or anyone. I have had too many of my new Juice Plus+ clients try stuff & end up in the hospital from neg side effects.
There is just not enough research or follow up once a customer gets on a product….that is why I follow up on everything…. I also go with the modo less is more in relation to food & supplements in most cases everyone feels better & see more results in all areas. This was very helpful. I kind of new my answer this anyway…. Thanks again Joe. 🙂 Kim 🙂
i have lost 10kg in the past 4 months on a low carb diet and exercise which i dont do regularly, i stopped losing weight 1 month ago, and 2 days ago i started with the raspberry ketone, after reading your article im kind of worried that the fat is going to deposit in my liver, is that possible?
can alcohol be consumed while using the product? my bottle is not FDA approved but it says clinically researched, which is a research done on green coffee bean extract not the raspberry ketone itself, they also have a study that followed 16 adults for 12 weeks and they lost an average of 17 pounds each, it dosent mention where the study was conducted and who are the subjects, are they just obese?
what if they suffer from other diseases, well said ” research research research” that is why we are educated and should use our own judgment instead of letting the media tell us what to do.
yasmin, “clinically researched” is mostly marketing hype. I covered the RK research in my review and I didn’t see much. Same thing for my review of green coffee bean (heres the link in case you missed it) Im not sure if its putting fat in your liver (I doubt it though). I don’t see why you cant drink alcohol while using RK (but I wouldn’t over do it of course)
1 month after using RK, with no exercise and controlled diet. i lost 1 KG. sure thing if i exercise and concentrate more on what i eat i will be able to loose more.
the side effects experienced are: it makes me anxious, restless, i wake up at night several time, my toes are freezing, i feel disconnected, my stool is watery and oily, when i forget to take the pill it just gets worst and i have to consume lots of coffee to substitute the caffeine in the pills.
with my level of activity i would expect to gain at least 5 kg, but I actually lost 1 kg. meaning i will go purchase another bottle, i hope i am not addicted to it.
Yasmin, I have read that if you’re going to take it, it’s best to take pure Raspberry Ketone, with no caffiene or other additives. Maybe it was the caffiene, and not the RK, that made you anxious and restless. Good luck!
I just would like to point out that the Raspberry Ketones I was looking at came along with a recommended meal plan which was basically low carb, a lot of water (1 oz per pound you weigh), and of course exercise. I think with the recommendations I could lose weight without buying the supplements. Just sayin.
I have started taking raspberry ketones in the past few weeks. I have not taken exactly as they say, missed a few days, but anyway this is what I have experienced so far….
1. I lost 7.5 pounds doing nothing else different
2. have appetite control,
3. feel satisfied all the time, no ups and downs of appetite, which is supposedly due to they way the RK make your liver manage and insulin levels stay level
4. no side effects of any kind
Sue,
which rasberry ketone product did you use? I keep getting fooled and am skeptical! thanks
Amy, I say follow your instincts but I do hope it helps if you try it.
Sue,
Were your RK from a company who’s product was “certified” and had no additives (like caffeine etc) in the ingredients list? I’ve been wanting to start and have been told to only use RK from a “certified” producer which is supposed to guarantee the RK are from real raspberries. Other companies (especially outside US like China and Mexico) grow the RK synthetically in labs and bottle it.
Was curious which yours was to try and determine if it really makes a difference between the 2 types. I’m in good shape and run 4 times a week. Had to take 4 months off but didn’t stop eating and drinking (especially over holidays). Was looking to help shed larger abdomen that has accumulated with RK along with back to healthy diet and exercise.
Thanks,
Jim
i have taken raspberry ketones for 3 months and have lost 45 lbs. i take 2 in the morning and 2 at supper feel great
