Healthy Gut. Slimmer You. Those words are used to describe Plexus Slim, a very popular weight loss and blood sugar lowering supplement. It's been several years since I first reviewed Plexus Slim (The Pink Drink). In that time, the ingredients have changed a bit. In this Plexus Slim review, I'll compare the ingredients in the original formula to what it contains now and also review the science on its ingredients. Along the way, I'll decipher its key ingredients, and try to shed light on side effects too. I don't work for any supplement company so this is not an Ambassador review. Let's see if Plexus Slim is right for you. For additional info, see the original plexus Slim review and the reviews of Plexus Accelerator Plus, Plexus Boost and Plexus ProBio5 Joyome anti-wrinkle cream and Plexus Hunger Control
Plexus Slim Benefits
The Plexus website states the supplement works by providing the following benefits:
- Clinically demonstrated to help you lose weight*
- Promotes the growth of good gut microbes◊*
- Increases Lactobacillus by 365 times and Bifidobacterium by 290 times – contributing to overall health◊*
- Increases the metabolism-enhancing Akkermansia microbes by 250 times◊*
- Supports healthy glucose metabolism*
- Clinically studied XOS prebiotic
- Patent-pending formula
These are pretty interesting benefits but the * and ◊ next to some of the claims direct our attention to the bottom of the page where it says
- *“These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.”
- ♢ “The results of an in vitro human gut simulator study suggest that Slim’s formula may have several beneficial effects. Further research, including research conducted in humans, is needed to confirm these preliminary findings.” Basically, they are saying there's no human evidence for these claims.
What's Different In The New Formula
Let's now compare the original Plexus formula (from 2013) to the current ingredients:
Plexus Slim Original Ingredients | Plexus Slim Current Ingredients |
Chlorogenic acid | Chromium |
Citrin K | Xylooligosaccharide |
Alpha-lipoic acid | Green coffee bean extract |
Oxypregnane steroidal glycoside | Garcinia Cambogia |
Chromium (amino nicotinate GTF) | Alpha-lipoic acid |
Mulberry fruit extract |
Comparing the original ingredients old and current ingredients, we see a few differences
1. Chromium has moved positions. It used to be the last ingredient in the proprietary blend. It appears at the very top of the ingredients list.

This may mean the new Plexus Slim formula has more chromium than it originally had. They also now tell us how much chromium Plexus Slim contains (200 micrograms). See the review of chromium and weight loss.
2. Both the old and new formula contain chromium nicotinate. This is a complex of both chromium and niacin. Chromium is often touted for its ability to help reduce blood sugar levels and while there is some evidence of this, not all studies find it works. For example, in this 2013 study chromium nicotinate did not help people with type 2 diabetes.
3. The ingredient originally called “citrin K” is now called by its more familiar name, garcinia cambogia. See the Garcinia Cambogia review.
4. The current ingredients now contain Xylooligosaccharide, green coffee bean, and Mulberry fruit extract.
5. Grape skin extract used to be in Plexus but no longer. I'm not sure if this makes a significant difference or not in how effective Plexus Slim might be. I was told (unconfirmed reports) this was because people were having allergic reactions to this ingredient.
Summary: Changes To New Formula
- Chromium is the first ingredient listed
- We are told how much chromium is in the new formula
- Added: Xylooligosaccharide, green coffee bean, and Mulberry fruit extract
- Grape skin extract is removed
- Hoodia is removed from the formula
- Garcinia cambogia now called by its more familiar name
Question for Ambassadors: why were grape seed extract and hoodia removed from plexus slim?
Plexus Slim Research
Clinical research specifically on Plexus Slim cannot be located. Neither the Plexus website, National Library of Medicine or ClinicalTrials.gov reveal any clinical studies. Some Plexus Ambassadors may cite research but those studies do not appear to be peer reviewed in medical journals. As such, I discount as being less clinically relevant as we cannot see the entire study and how it was conducted.
Plexus Slim Ingredients
Let's now summarize the of research for the main ingredients in the Pink Drink and see what the science says.
Chromium
The chromium in Plexus chromium polynicotinate. This is basically a form of chromium thought to be better absorbed. Each packet provides 200 micrograms of this mineral. Chromium is probably in this supplement to help reduce blood sugar levels. This makes sense. But, when it comes to weight loss, chromium is a dud. The vast majority of studies since the 1990s show chromium does not work
See the Chromium weight loss review for the evidence.
Xylooligosaccharide
Xylooligosaccharide (also called XOS) is basically long chains of the xylose sugar stuck together. Xylose is often used as a prebiotic. Prebiotics are the food probiotic bacteria eat. Xylose may be used as a way to bolster production of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium.
When it comes to gut health, the diversity of gut bacteria is important. the more different bacteria, the healthier experts say we are. Two ways to improve gut bacteria diversity is eating more fruits/vegetables and exercise.
Plexus Slim Blend (531 mg)
When it comes to Blends, companies do not have to tell us how much of each ingredient makes up the blend. But we know the first ingredient makes up the most of the blend, while the last ingredient listed makes up the least.
Each packet of plexus slim provides 531 mg of the following ingredients:
1. Green Coffee Bean Extract
Green coffee also goes by the name coffae robusta. Its active ingredient is often said to be an antioxidant called chlorogenic acid. The Plexus Slim label tells us each packet contains 50% chlorogenic acid. Green coffee is popular for weight loss but I remain skeptical.
The favorable research studies are small and there are not many of them. Also, the studies showing it works have used a supplement called Svetol which is not in Plexus Slim.
What makes green coffee controversial is one of the very best weight loss investigations was retracted after it was found to contain serious errors.
This is why green coffee remains a weight loss scam in my book until unbiased and well-designed studies are published.
2. Garcinia Cambogia
Garcinia cambogia, also known as hydroxy citric acid (HCA) is a popular weight loss supplement. When I did a deep dive into the garcina / weight loss research, I concluded it was at best a 50/50 shot at whether it worked or not. I saw just as many clinical studies showing it worked as didn't work.
Many of the studies though were small and had problems with how they were performed. As such, I don't believe anyone can say for sure if it's an effective weight loss aid.
And then there's the big controversy: Does garcinia cambogia cause liver failure? While I feel the risk is low, there is some evidence it might. While in many such reports, people were taking supplements containing many ingredients, we now have a report of liver failure in someone who only took garcinia cambogia. There is no reports of Plexus Slim causing liver problems or elevating liver enzymes.
See the Supplements and Liver Failure review.
3. Alpha Lipoic Acid
Plexus slim is touted to promote healthy glucose metabolism. Alapha lipoic acid is an ingredient which seems to do this. Multiple studies have shown Alpha Lipoic acid can improve the ability of insulin at reducing blood sugar levels. Amounts used in research are usually around 300 mg per day taken for several weeks. While we are not told how much alpha lipoic acid is in the Pink Drink, it's possible it may have close to this amount.
There is also some evidence alpha lipoic acid may help weight loss. Studies tend to use over 600-1000 mg. This is more than is in Plexus Slim.
Here's alpha lipoic acid on Amazon
4. Mulberry Fruit Extract
There are 2 types of mulberry – black and white. Plexus Slim uses white mulberry (Morus alba). Some evidence shows mulberry can reduce blood sugar levels in people with type II diabetes. Some studies use 1000 mg to 5000 mg a day to achieve this effect. Mulberry is also an antioxidant. Some evidence suggest it reduces free radical damage to insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas.
Because it's a food, mulberry likely has many active compounds which probably have multiple effects other than just blood sugar lowering.
Blood Sugar Lowering Ingredients
Here is a quick review of the ingredients in Plexus Slim which lower blood sugar
- Chromium
- Alpha-lipoic acid
- White mulberry
See above for specifics on each
Weight Loss Ingredients
Here's a quick review of the ingredients in Plexus Slim which might help weight loss
- Garcinia cambogia
Note. my own opinion is garcinia cambogia doesn't work but there are some studies saying I'm wrong. Im not listing green coffee bean until I see better quality studies on it.
What's The Key Ingredient
There is not just one active ingredient in Plexus Slim. Different ingredients do different things. Its worth noting many of the ingredients are likelly present because of their effects on lowering blood sugar levels. However, reduced blood sugar does not necessarily mean weight loss. When it comes to weight loss, I believe results will vary.
Where To Buy
So where can people buy Plexus Slim? Because the company has a multi-level marketing (MLM) component to it, it's sold in stores like Walmart, GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, Costco, Target, CVS, Walgreens, korger, Food Lion or RiteAid.
Rather, it can be purchased either from a Plexus Ambassador or directly from PlexusWorldWide.com, the official company website. When ordering Plexus the website, you first have to create an account. When you do, you don't have to provide information on the Plexus ambassador you heard about it from.
I'm not sure how I feel about that.
Because one does not have to provide details on ambassadors means the Plexus website is in competition with Plexus ambassadors for sales. To become a Plexus Ambassador, it costs $34.95 paid annually.
If you are using a Plexus ambassador, you can provide either their phone number or Plexus ID. If you do, then the ambassador will receive credit for your order – using an Ambassador does not add to the price of Plexus Slim.

How Many Calories?
Each packet of Plexus Slim has 5 calories. This is an insignificant amount.
Plexus Slim And Gut Health
When Plexus Slim first came out, it was touted for weight loss. The idea of gut health is an evolution of not only the marketing but also the ingredients in the supplement. With the incorporation of the prebiotic, Xylooligosaccharide (XOS), the idea is now Plexus Slim is supposed to help weight loss by altering the composition of the microbiome (that is, better gut health).
While I'm sure XOS will alter the contents of the microbiome in some way, I don't know what effects this would lead to. Would it lead to better health? Would it mean weight loss would occur? I can't say although no clinical studies linking xylooligosaccharide to weight loss in humans could be located when this review was created.
While anything is possible, until Plexus-gut health studies are published, it's hard to know for sure what the benefits might be. It's worth remembering that eating fruits and veggies and exercise have been shown to improve gut health rather quickly.
Does It Have Caffeine?
Plexus Slim is probably pretty low in caffeine. The label says it has 2% natural caffeine. The caffeine probalby comes from the green coffee bean.
Is It Gluten Free?
Yes. Plexus Slim is gluten-free, vegan and non-GMO.
Is Plexus Slim FDA Approved?
The Food and Drug Administration does not approve supplements in the US. There is a law which regulates supplements (DSHEA) but it's often criticized for a number of reasons.
In 2014 PlexusWorldWide did receive a warning letter from the FDA over the language used to describe the benefits of their products Fast Relief ProBio 5 and BioCleanse. Basically the FDA believed the company made statements it should not have made. This sometimes happens with companies. When the FDA sees statements it disagrees with, it reaches out to companies and asks them to change their wording.
See the ProBio 5 Review for more on that supplement.
Plexus Slim Controversies
In 2013 the Australia government's Therapeutic Goods Administration (their FDA) noted Plexus Accelerator 3 day pack contained a banned ingredient called DMAA, which is a stimulant. See the Plexus Accelerator Plus review for more information.
In 2014, the Canadian government also called attention to DMAA as well.
DMAA is no longer found in Plexus supplements.
Is Plexus Doctor Recommended?
I've heard ambassadors say its recommended by medical doctors (MDs/ DOs) but I don't think I've ever encountered a physician who recommended it. That's not to say none do, but I've not met any. My original review has over 2400 testimonials and comments. I don't anyone leaving a comment was a doctor.
If you look at the comments there, you will see some nurses advocating Plexus. Some of them are also Ambassitors which some may say makes them biased. I won't make that call. I'll simply, say I prefer supplements with clinical evidence.
I can understand the challenges faced by doctors who try to get patients to lose weight and blood sugar. It's quite possible some may be OK with a patient trying Plexus Slim for a month or so to see what happens. I'm sure anything which motivates patients is welcomed.
I welcome any physician to leave a comment below about their experiences with this product (positive or not)
Plexus Ambassadors
Plexus Ambassitors (distributors) are those who sell Plexus supplements. These are often people who had a good experience and want to help others. Sometimes they may be people lured into the business with thoughts of making a lot of money.
An advantage going through an Ambassador is they may be able to offer personalized guidance with how to use the products. While I like this, Plexus Ambassadors may or may not have any nutrition background like college degrees or nutrition certifications. So, if you have a medical issue, the guidance you receive will often not be the same as from a doctor, pharmacist or dietitian.
If people have side effects, the solution is to not take another plexus supplement (or any supplement). The correct response -depending on the severity – is to stop taking the supplement and see if the symptoms improve. For very bad side effects, seeing a doctor is in order.
I bring this up not to slam Plexus Ambassitors but rather to help them better deal with side effects that people may bring up from time to time.
Plexus Slim Didn't Work
If you read the comments below, you'll notice some people saying the new Plexus formula does not work the same way as the old formula. Interestingly, when people report to their ambassadors that Plexus Slim didn't work for them, it appears some blame the person. I'm sure not all Ambassadors do this, but if the comments below are believed, some appear to.
I think that's the wrong way of doing this. I also believe its wrong to try to get people to experiment with another product like the Plexus probiotic supplement. (click to read review). That's my 2 cents. Take it for what it is.
Plexus Slim Research
Plexus Ambassadors often mention the supplement was originally was studied ―not for weight loss―but rather for its effects on reducing blood sugar. As proof of this, they cite a clinical trial done on 8 people with type 2 diabetes conducted between June and October 2008.
While the study does not appear to be peer reviewed, it does seem to show that people taking plexus slim had reduced blood sugar and body weight. When looking at the summary of this trial on the PS website, a few things occurred to me:
1. The study refers to these 8 people as “patients.” This makes me wonder if the people were confined to a hospital or clinic? If yes, this is not a real life test of plexus because most people won't be monitored for food intake the way people in hospitals /clinics might be. If anyone can address this question, I'd appreciate it.
2. The study only had 8 people. That’s not a lot of people.
3. The study doesn’t seem to be peer reviewed / published in a medical journal
4. The clinical study used the original plexus slim formula. Since the formula ingredients have been tweaked a bit since its inception, it's hard to know if the results would be relevant to the new formula.
Regardless as to whether the product was originally studied for its effects on blood sugar, there is no doubt that Plexus Slim is marked mostly for weight loss. As proof, the product website used to say this:
” Having trouble losing weight and keeping it off? You're not alone. But don't worry! Finally there is an all-natural, healthy solution to help you lose weight for the long term.”
Notice, there is no mention of blood sugar, only weight loss. In fact, on the benefits section above, notice “Clinically demonstrated to help you lose weight” is the #1 item listed. That said, if plexus slim helps weight loss (by getting people to eat less calories), then I'd expect blood sugar to be reduced also.
Who Makes Plexus Slim?
The company is called Plexus Worldwide, LLC. The address listed with the Better Business Bureau is 9145 E Pima Center Pkwy Scottsdale, AZ 85258-4627. An online search of this address reveals a corporate center. The former address of the company was 7440 E. Karen Dr. #400, Scottsdale, AZ 85260. The BBB states the business was started on Jan 1 2008.
The BBB gave Plexus World Wide a rating of “A+” when this review was created. This was interesting considering 63% of the reviews were negative. My guess is this high rating is based on the company responding to complaints filed with the BBB. See the BBB file for updates and more information.
There were no SiteJabber reviews for the company when this review was created. See the SiteJabber file for updates.

Plexus Slim Side Effects
In healthy people, I think this Plexus Slim is safe in the majorly of people who use this supplement. While there are many positive and negative online reviews, I believe in most people, there are no real dangers, espeically for those who are basically healthy. That said, here are some things to consider for those who may not be “healthy.” This list is not complete:
- Start with less than is recommended for the first seek to see how you react
- Stop taking plexus slim at least 2 weeks before having surgery
- Speak to your doctor first if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Speak to your pharmacist/ doctor if you take any prescription mediation
- Not intended for people under age 18
- Since it has some caffeine, don't take close to bedtime
- Plexus Slim may reduce blood sugar levels. This may be an issue for some diabetes
- Some reports link garcinia cambogia to liver problems and elevated liver enzymes
- Green coffee extract may reduce blood pressure
- Xylooligosaccharide (XOS) may have a laxative effect in high doses (4grams)
Chromium may reduce thyroid hormone levels when taken at the same time. Separate taking them by at least an hour to reduce this from occurring.
Some evidence suggests chromium may lead to kidney problems. But I think this is rare. I had to search back to 1998 to find a report I felt was relevant. To be safe, speak to your doctor if you have kidney problems before taking chromium supplements.
Some research suggests chlorogenic acid (an ingredient in green coffee) may raise homocysteine. High homocysteine levels are controversial as they may be linked to heart disease. See your doctor if your homocysteine is high for personalized recommendations on this matter.
Leave a comment below if you experienced anything I did not list here.

Does Plexus Slim Work?
I didn't try Plexus Slim and I don't personally know anyone who has tried it. I can only go by the research. Because of its ingredients, I'm fairly sure it will reduce blood sugar levels in some people. But as for weight loss, let's just say results will vary.
Hi Joe,
I would consider dropping the accelerator if I thought it wasn’t really helping anything, other than boosting the slim.
Susan, While I’m not aware of any proof -either way – that they work better together, I’m more concerned about using it with your Afib. Please show the ingredients to your pharmacist and doctor.
Don’t know about the weight loss end as I am only on the product for two months… I have lost 7 pounds and really not changed my eating habits. BUT…..after three weeks on Plexus, my psoriasis has cleared on my hands and is clearing on my feet and I have had it for 10 years…I have used cutting edge medication which has not taken it away.
So, whether or not I ever lose a pound, I am taking plexus because it is the first thing that has stopped psoriasis. Why do you think this has taken place? Oh, yes, accelerator doesn’t cause me any problems and I am a-fib.
Hi Susan, I have no insights about your psoriasis. I’ll just be glad that you are seeing an improvement. Because you have atrial fibrillation I would use caution with any type of stimulant supplements. Please show the accelerator ingredients to your doctor/pharmacist.
I would love to direct everyone to the new studies out on the placebo effect. That being said even if it were koolaid water, if the person believes it will work then chances are it will.
If it works for you then good for you but you will pardon my skepticism as I refer you to actual peer reviewed, reproducible studies that show it’s a bunch of codswallop for the most part.
However if it works for you great.
Let me begin with, I’m not a health care provider or an Ambassador, but just an informed mom. One of my children has ADD, which is more commonly called ADHD now. For people to focus on a task, their dopamine levels in the brain have to be within a very narrow margin. Part of the problem for those with ADHD, dopamine levels are too low. Stimulant chemicals such as caffeine can increase dopamine levels. Going back to what dopamine does, it’s a key contributor to focus, motivation and the end result, productivity.
Noting Pete’s comment about if “sugar influences ADD,” I will add from what I’ve read sugar does increase dopamine levels for a short time. Some people who are low in dopamine compensate with self-destructive, self medicating behaviors to get their dopamine boost with sugar, among other things. So if someone is getting their hit from caffeine, it might reduce the sugar cravings.
Perhaps the caffeine in the Plexus Slim pink drink and the Accelerator is affecting ADD Gone with her attention issues. I can think of far less expensive and natural ways of increasing dopamine levels though and wouldn’t advocate putting her children on PS without talking to their doctors of course.
I’m reading through this thread for more information, because I have a family member who is an Ambassador, who also advocates giving it to children and gives it to own, who aren’t school age yet. The family member is rabid about Plexus, how it solves medical ills and has obviously drank the kool-aid.
Thank you, Joe for repeatedly going back to the importance of studies and peer reviews.
Caera Anne, you are very welcome and I thank you for sharing.
Heather Lambert writes:
“Plexus Slim is not just for weight loss, it is for body balance.”
Good grief, Plexus has ginned up a new talking point. They’ve held ambassador meetings and now the word is spreading. I remember when we were being told “Its not about the weight loss, it’s about the health”. Then there was “Plexus Freedom”. These ambassadors have no single genuine though among them. Heather, give it up. In 3-4 months, you’ll be bailing on this stuff due to cost just like the rest of them.
“It’s a shame when people who don’t understand the product start making critiques that are untrue.”
I understand it just fine. Take a look back and see the multiple times that ingredients used in this poison have been discussed in this thread. Go ahead and ingest as much of this stuff as you can. At no time has Plexus ever come out with any details about where their product is manufactured nor have they submitted to independent clinical testing of their products. If you’re cool with that, then by all means, keep taking it. Your upline will appreciate it when they earn trips and prizes off your back.
You dont need clinical tests for SUPPLEMENTS. Why do people act like they REQUIRE them. Guess what…?? those store brands do not submit to them either genius!!! Stupidity in america…
“Mom” – has it ever occurred to you that those of us talking about clinical tests for supplements have the same reservations when it comes to “store brand” items? The big difference between those items and Plexus are people like you who will make outlandish claims of what Plexus miraculously cures, without one iota of evidence.
You’re right about that stupidity thing in America, for sure. It’s on display every day from Ambassadors.
Heather
Would you please tell us what you have read on this site that you feel is untrue? Most people on this site have researched the points they make or have experience in the issues discussed. It’s obvious that all you are doing is quoting your rah-rah people, who in my opinion, and my experience with PS, know probably less than you do about the subject. If you knew anything about PS you definitely would NOT be administering it to children without the okay from a healthcare provider. That is completely irresponsible.
Are you not aware that PS received a warning letter from the FDA for making false claims about PS products. Without any clinical data available proving PS for ADHD, you are breaking rules again. PS is a dietary supplement, not a drug, and for that reason you cannot even mention any disease state as ADHD. Read your Policies and Procedures.
Heather, we forgive you because chances are you are a new recruit, and just don’t know any better. LOL
I realize this is a while after this was written, but Plexus Slim is not just for weight loss, it is for body balance. Most of the time this means weight loss where it is needed but there are tons of testimonies of under weight people (and children) who started taking Plexus and had good, healthy weight gain.
It’s a shame when people who don’t understand the product start making critiques that are untrue. Many parents have had great success with Plexus and ADHD because Plexus targets the gut, where ADHD is essentially caused. Do your research and you will be surprised!
Hi Heather, may I ask what research would you suggest I look at?
Joe
In reference to Carla’s post, the “Triplex” is just another marketing scheme, or bundling scheme to get a little deeper into the ‘ambassador”, or other customer’s pockets. Pretty much like the 3-pak sold before PS went south on weight-loss.
Weight-loss is mentioned in some of their marketing, but the main focus of the “Triplex” is a healthier life-style that may contribute to weight-;loss.
Pete, thanks for the impute. It sounds like the marketing has been moving away from weight loss in favor of being healthy for a while now.
Joe, I really appreciate your honest reviews. I was just wondering if you know of any independent lab testing results on Plexus Slim, or any of the products they refer to as the “Plexus Triplex”. (Slim, Probio 5, and Biocleanse)?
I have a dear friend who is an ambassador who I fear believes everything she is told by the company. She has lost 50 pounds so far herself, mostly without exercise, and also replaced her children’s ADHD prescriptions with Plexus which she swears is working for them.
She boasts about her energy levels and how she no longer struggles with her appetite or cravings. To me, all this just screams that the product must be full of stimulants, which she also swears it is completely free of. Honestly, I am concerned for her and her kids. She truly believes that they are all “getting healthy.”
Since “supplements” are entirely unregulated, you can only review the ingredients the company claims to be in the product, I was wondering if you know of any independent laboratory testing of the ingredients in these products. And if so, were stimulants found in any of them, particularly the 3 products that make up the “Triplex”?
Hi Carla, I was not aware of a Plexus Triplex until you brought it up. It sounds to me like its implied that using several products at once are supposed to promote more weight loss. I am not aware of any clinical testing on plexus triplex. Does anyone else reading this?
I have looked at several Plexus Slim products and some do have stimulants like the Accelerator and the Boost. I covered the Plexus Accelerator (which came before Accelerator Plus) in my original review of plexus slim here is the link.
Here are my reviews of other products so you can check them out:
Plexus Boost
Plexus Accelerator Plus
Plexus Probios 5
First I’m going to say, I’m not an ambassador! And I am/was a skeptic sort of but here are my so far results.. A little bit about me… Female, Type 1 diabetic with a fair amount of weight to loose. I have been exercising and eating relatively well for several months with no weight loss and struggling greatly with balancing my blood sugars….
I took plexus slim one day and noticed the next day my blood sugar was dramatically lower! Like woah constant low blood sugar and changing my basal rates on my pump. I have been taking it every other day and my blood sugars have been fantastic!!! It’s only been a week but I’m pretty impressed!
I’m wondering if I could get the same results by simply taking a chromium pill.
Also makes me wonder if I have a nutritional deficiency if drinking the pink drink which is essentially a chromium drink makes my sugar so improved???
Also taking a low dose of the bio cleanse and probio5. These seem fine but I probably could take any probiotic and magnesium.
Also wondering about the digestive enzymes in the probio if that would help sugars??? I have the carb block but only took it once kind of been forgetting about it lol.
Hi Alicia, just to clarify, are you a type I or type II diabetic? When did you develop diabetes? I know you said you were using an insulin pump and while that’s usually reserved for type I diabetes, its possible type II diabetics might use a pump also. You said you had weight to lose. Most of the type I diabetics I’ve met have basically been skinny while Type II diabetics tend to be overweight. Its possible you were called a type I diabetic once you started taking insulin.
I know it can be confusing at times -type I vs type II. Just trying to clarify things.
Alicia S writes: “First I’m going to say, I’m not an ambassador!”
This means she is an ambassador.
“I have the carb block but only took it once kind of been forgetting about it lol.”
Yeah, lol alright. As a diabetic, taking carb block can have some serious side effects on diabetics. I bet your upline never mentioned that, did they? You just jumped right into taking this stuff without doing any kind of research.
Why is it that posters like Alicia never respond back with a rebuttal? Simply, no fun! lol
Where are all you PS simpletons that feel PS is the savior for weight-loss, oh, I meant lifestyle changes that are healthy? Oh, hell, I don’t know what I meant, and doesn’t seem like you do neither!
Yours was one of the only sites that wasn’t sponsored by Plexus. Have they purchased the whole internet??? Plexus will work if you take the accelerator, which is basically speed. Women on facebook (young women) were saying it worked for them, but made them dizzy and some passed out!
I’m not young; can’t take any kind of “diet” pill, so I tried the pink drink, the pro-biotic and the cleanse….for a month. Cost over a hundred dollars and did NOTHING. I didn’t lose weight, didn’t have more energy, didn’t stop joint aches. Plexus is a company to make people (ambassadors) rich, not thin.
Rhonda, I’m glad you found my review helpful. I’m also sorry that it did not help you. Can you get any of your money back? Did you get the products from Plexus Slim? I believe there is a 60 day money back guarantee for Plexus Slim.
I’m not sponsored by plexus. If you need info, contact me
Yes my friend. The amount of garbage spewed off the lips of Ambassadors, put into print, or video or babbled, is absorbed into the teeny brains of others which is growing to astronomical proportions and regurgitated at an endless rate as those sheeple do not understand anything and just want others to like them. They have finally found their forever home.
This is what Plexus Ambassadors say: My next page will be full of their bs.

I loved this:
“We are thrilled to say we will never need prescription meds for her ADHD or ODD again”
So, basically what she is saying is that Pro-Bio, X-Factor, and Plexus Slim cures ADHD/ODD. No proof, no studies, not a shred of evidence behind this. But because some twit posts an impassioned story and tosses God in the mix, the fools will come running and sign up.
I kind of want to laugh. Plexus Slim is like the Emperors New Clothes… if you really look there is NOTHING in there. Think about it… it’s basically a powder that makes water pink and sweet albeit w/o actual sugar and you are getting some chromium. All these people say that taking Plexus Slim has gotten rid of headaches and help them lose weight etc and so forth… Um, may I point out something… have any of you people using Plexus ever happened to research symptoms of dehydration?
Did you know that w/o enough water you can have migraines, hormone imbalance, weight gain, bad sleep and the list goes on and on!!! The only true and good advice is to drink 1/2 your body weight in water… and heck add some fruit to it and I bet you will get the same results for a fraction of the cost!
Anne,
Most of the folks who have claimed that Plexus miraculously cured their headaches were the types of people who drank multiple cups of coffee, sodas, etc. That or they didn’t drink water at all. Despite there not being anything in Plexus that would aid in migraine/headache control, they believe it to be a miracle cure.
And don’t just stop at migraines and headaches. They believe it cures auto-immune diseases, cures ADHD in their kids, helps with heart problems, arthritis, and cancer. There is no limit to what these Plexus people will claim. They all attend ambassador meetings and get sold on whatever quackery their cult leaders feed to them.
My fiancé’s mom sold the plexus slim to us along with accelerator and block. Both of us have been on this for three weeks now and neither of us have lost weight. The scale has not moved. Actually last week was Easter and I was sick and actually gained almost two pounds and didn’t exercise for 1.5 weeks. We have however lost some inches, but nothing drastic. The most we have lost is 2 inches to 0.25 inches in 3 weeks depending on the location on our bodies. I make a point to measure both of us every week since we were told you won’t loose any weight at first just inches.
The only thing we noticed was that after the 4th day we felt like we had a bit more energy. I don’t know if this is attributed to drinking 3-4 8oz servings of water in the morning because that is something we have never done before. My fiancé was a coffee freak, he now drinks less coffee. I also drink less coffee now because I don’t feel as tired anymore. Both of us also don’t feel as hungry as we used to. His snoring has become less annoying and not at loud — I always thought he never drank enough water.
Overall I would continue taking this until after our honeymoon just based on the fact we do have more energy– but it’s too expensive to continue on. $155/mo is A LOT. I think the mark up on this product is mostly for profit, this stuff is probably really cheap to produce.
I also think it’s a load of crap that Plexus is a panacea. I would just tell people who ask me “I use this just to help me have more energy in my day, and the side effect people hopefully I eat a little less and feel good enough to exercise more.” And “Plexus is not a substitution for healthy eating and exercise — it is a supplement, meaning you take it while you are exercising, sleeping, and eating right”. Morbid obese, or obese people will probably benefit from this because they don’t do all those things and probably don’t drink water. My fiancé needs to loose 60lbs, and myself 30lbs.
The marketing portion is kind of a turn-off. Personally, I would never push or sell a product I don’t know if it works. My consensus is I don’t know if it works, I am just a guinea pig. Once I go off this in June, and follow the same procedures and drink the same amount of water I will know if it’s just a ploy to make money or if there is any evidence behind it.
Do you know how much caffeine is in the PS? More than a cup of coffee? A soda? Chocolate?
Veronica, I dont believe plexus slim (the pink drink) has any caffeine. when I wrote my review, the website said it was caffeine-free and stimulant free. Other plexus products though might contain stimulants.
I am on day 2 of my trial pack of the slim, not sure I want to take the accelerator because I’m very sensitive to stimulants. I do notice a disinterest in food. Like I’m hungry so make food but after a couple bites I simply don’t want it. This is NOT common for me lol So I’m really hoping this product works. I’ve struggled to lose weight for about 4 years now and one of my biggest issues is appetite control, especially at night. Fingers crossed!
Abi, my fingers are crossed also. I hope it helps you.
I am not an ambassador, just someone who was curious about the product. So I purchased three-3 day samples. I have not lost any weight yet, but I feel a lot better than I have in awhile and I am going to use the product for a while to see if I do lose weight. I have an auto immune disease called Hashimotos Disease and when I drink Plexus and take the accelerator I feel good. I am not trying to convince anyone to buy it, but if your skeptical I suggest trying a sample first.
Why go through the trouble of telling us your not an ambassador? That is first and foremost a red flag that usually ends up in the discovery that you are an ambassador. And in this forum, we have discussed Hashimotos. Nothing in Plexus has any scientific or clinical proof that it affects anyone with Hashimotos. You should know that there is currently no known cure for Hashimotos. The only reason you “feel good” after taking this garbage is because you are ingesting a stimulant (accelerator). Raising the heart rate is not doing anything for your Hashimotos. What you are doing is artificially subjecting your system to a drug which you will need more and more of over time to see the same effects.
CONFUSED ON TO GET IT OR NOT…I NEED TO LOSE 100 POUNDS….SCARED TO TRY IT , PLUS I DONT NEED MORE HEALTH PROBLEMS DOWN THE LINE IF ANYTHING SHOULD EVER DEVELOP…..I KNOW MY BOSS IS ON IT AND SHE HAS HAD GREAT SUCCESS WITH IT . AND LOOKS MIGHTY GRAND IN HER NEW FIGURE. SHE HAS LOST OVER 60 POUNDS OR SO ALSO …. WHAT DO I DO … TO TRY IT OR NOT TO TRY IT .
Linda, why dont you try this. show the ingredients to your pharmacist and see what he/she thinks. I say this in case you are taking medications that, in theory, might interact with some of the PS ingredients. If you are going to try it, i see no proof that you have to go all in and use all the different products plexus has. If its going to work, only the plexus slim (pink drink) is all you need. I see no proof for the probiotic supplement or the accelerator or the boost product. I have reviews on those if you want to see more about them. All that said, show the ingredients to your pharmacist.copy them right from my review and show them that. Let me know what they say.
Either way, I will say a prayer for you tonight that you find an answer for you. I believe that you acknowledging that you need to lose 100 pounds is a good first step.
Gook luck, Linda, you also have a prayer coming from me. You’ll make it.!!
My daughter’s friend has been using Plexus for over a year now and has said nothing but good things about it. She has lost a lot of weight, but she says that she also feels healthier and has more energy. My daughter and I are both going to try it. I’ll try to remember to come back here at some point and comment either way. Wish me luck? 🙂
Melinda, I hope it helps you. Remember, there are people out there saying you dont have to exercise or change your eating patterns when using PS. They are wrong. You must do the other things too. Please be careful with the boost and accelerator. Personaly, those thing I would not take.
