Keto GT is said to be an advanced ketogenic formula to help you get into ketosis faster. The idea is being in ketosis will help you lose weight as fast as a ketogenic diet. So, is Keto GT a scam or is it a legit weight loss supplement? How does it compare to other supplements? No doubt there is a lot of interest in this fat burner as evidenced by the number of positive reviews but are there any bad reviews or honest reviews out there? How about neutral, unbiased? This is one of those. Some may even have heard the supplement was featured on Shark Tank. Was it? Let's look at the ingredients, research, pros, and cons of this advanced metabolic support weight loss formula and see if it's right for you. Was Keto GT on Shark Tank?
Despite internet rumors, no good proof could be located demonstrating this supplement appeared on the Shark Tank TV show. While websites may discuss this, they provide no video evidence that it happened. One exception was Nui Keto Cookies that DID appear on Shark Tank. For most other products, however, it probably didn't happen.
Just as with supposed Dr. Oz endorsements, be skeptical of dietary supplement claims about them appearing on Shark Tank especially, over-the-top claims about the sharks bidding against each other for a piece of the action. Before purchasing, insist on video proof that it appeared on an episode of the Shark Tank TV show.

What Does This Mean?
For the most part, Keto GS is composed of beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB), which is a ketone. Normally, we make BHB in low levels, but when it is taken in a supplement it is called an exogenous ketone (exogenous means outside the body). The Keto Advanced GT supplement contains a combination of:
- Magnesium BHB
- Calcium BHB
- Sodium BHB
All of these are called BHB salts. BHB salts have been used in exogenous ketone supplements for some time. Most studies show taking BHB supplements WILL raise ketone levels in the body.
Since the magnesium version is listed first, it makes up most of the proprietary blend. The specific type used in the Advanced Keto supplement is called goBHB which was made by a company called Compound Solutions Inc.
Compound Solutions has provided ingredients for many popular supplement brands including Plexus Slim, Cellucor, Optimum Nutrition, Gundry MD, and Muscle Tech to name a few. GoBHB is a patented version of beta-hydroxybutyrate that is said to:
- increase energy levels
- enhance fat loss
- maintain blood sugar levels
- have antiaging effects
Does BHB Help Weight Loss or Exercise?
Exogenous ketone supplements will raise ketone levels. That's good. But do they help you lose weight? Do exogenous ketones help a ketogenic diet work better? Here is a short video on some of the weight loss and exercise research.

How Much Apple Cider Vinegar?
From the ingredients, we see the Keto GT Advanced proprietary blend also contains apple cider vinegar. Companies do not have to list amounts of each ingredient in a proprietary blend. As such, we do not know how much ACV is in Keto Advanced GT pills. That is too bad because there is some research on cider vinegar and weight loss as I pointed out in this video :

Macadamia Nut Oil
Macadamia nut oil is a good source of monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs), which are heart-healthy fats. However, macadamia oil does not appear to be a good source of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), fats that are popular in the ketogenic diet world due to their ability to raise ketone levels. The label also indicates “70% on tapioca” next to macadamia nut oil. But what does “70% on tapioca” mean?
Does Green Tea Help Ketosis?
Green tea leaves are a good source of many plant chemicals including polyphenols and catechins as well as beta-sitosterol. Green tea also contains caffeine too. While the amount of caffeine in Keto GT is not listed, caffeine from green tea may help combat fatigue associated with the so-called “keto flu” and animal research suggests green tea polyphenols may protect the kidneys from a high-fat diet. Green tea is also a popular weight loss supplement although it's debatable if it really works.
Instructions & Best Time To Take
Instructions on the bottle state to take 2 capsules 1 to 3 times a day. That adds up to 2 to 6 capsules per day. Remember two capsules contain 800 mg of the proprietary blend which is mostly composed of BHB. For best results, the company recommends taking the capsules 30 minutes before meals with 8 oz of water or as directed by your doctor. The company also mentions not taking more than the recommended dosage per day. The company does not mention the best time of the day to take the supplements except to say take them before eating.
Who Makes Keto GT?
Many companies distribute this supplement. If you search the results on Amazon, you'll notice the names of several companies appearing about the name of the supplement. Some of those companies include
- Justified Laboratories
- Vitalinia
- Tiger Bodi
- S.O. Labs
Distributing the supplement is not the same thing as making it. Who makes the Keto GT supplement? There is also a company called KetoResearch. com, which also goes by the website ” Buy-KetoGT .com.” Could this be the main company in charge of the Keto GT supplement? The address for Keto Research is 867 W Bloomingdale Ave #6914Brandon, FL 33508. A US post office also lists this address too. Interestingly that address is also the same as that listed for another dietary supplement called Androxene, a male performance supplement.
To contact that company call 844-806-5469.

Keto GT Side Effects
If you are wondering if keto GT pills safe or can hurt you, first understand the supplement is not FDA-approved. This is because the FDA does not approve any dietary supplements – although it does regulate them. That said, most studies on the health effects of ketogenic supplements find that they are safe. When given to healthy people, they do not appear to hurt the kidneys or bones, or cholesterol levels. That said, to minimize adverse effects, the company recommends not taking more than the recommended dosage (2 capsules 1 to 3 times a day). The company also suggests speaking to a doctor first if:
- you are pregnant or breastfeeding
- you're under age 18
- have any known medical condition
Other things to consider include:
- Some studies report nausea after taking exogenous ketone supplements. Whether this happens with Keto GT is not known. To minimize this, start with less than recommended for the first week.
- Be aware that sodium BHB has some sodium (salt). But, the amount of sodium in Keto GT pills is not known. It is not listed on the Supplement Facts label. People with high blood pressure should speak to their physician first.
- Animal research suggests ketogenic diets and ketogenic supplements may delay how long it takes for anesthesia to work. Thus, if you take the supplement and are having surgery, consult your doctor.
- In animals, exogenous ketones may reduce blood sugar. This may be an issue for people with diabetes.
Some people report the “keto flu” a few days after starting a low-carb/ketogenic diet. The symptoms can include fatigue, headaches, weakness, and nausea. It's not the flu/infection they are experiencing but rather adaptations that occur from consuming fewer carbohydrates, which are a major source of energy for the brain. However, if you are taking an exogenous ketone supplement like Keto GT, this should not be a problem for most people.
Can It Improve Memory?
Studies in both animals and humans are revealing a ketogenic diet may improve some aspects of memory. The reasons for this are not well understood but some speculate Alzheimer's may be related to insulin resistance in the brain. Regardless, if it holds to be true, does this mean exogenous ketone supplements can improve cognition too?
Currently, there is no memory research on the Keto GT formula itself. In several studies, researchers have used medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) as a way to boost ketone levels. There are no MCTs in this supplement. But, would BHB ketone supplements do the same thing? It's really too soon to tell. For more insights, here's a quick video on medium-chain triglycerides helping Alzheimer's disease.

Keto GT Complaints?
Be aware that some of the online reviews you see for this supplement are sponsored posts also called brand partner content. These may appear even on websites that seem legitimate. Most of those reviews provide only basic information with few negative reviews. You can sometimes spot these on credible websites when they are listed as such at the top of the post. The keto Research website has several complaints listed with the Better Business Bureau because of unauthorized charges to credit cards. The company does respond to people's complaints, so that is good. The Bette Business Bureau has also reported they have not received answers to their questions about the supplement either. See the BBB file for more information.
Where Can You Buy Keto GT Advanced?
So is it sold in stores? If you're looking to purchase locally, you are in luck. The GT Advanced supplement can be found at Walmart. If it gains in popularity, you may be able to buy it at Target, Kroger, Sams Club, CVS, and Rite Aid. But definitely, Walmart has it. It's also sold on Amazon too.

Keto GT. Vs Keto GT Max (Extra Strength)
These two supplements are basically the same thing except that the proprietary blend in Keto GT Max has 1200 mg. It's 800 mg in the Advanced formula. Here is how Keto GT compares to Keto GT Max
Keto GT Advanced (2 capsules) | Keto GT Max (2 capsules) |
Proprietary blend 800 mg composed of the following: | Proprietary blend 1200 mg composed of the following: |
1. Magnesium BHB (Go BHB) | 1. Magnesium BHB (Go BHB) |
2 Calcium BHB (Go BHB) | 2 Calcium BHB (Go BHB) |
3 Sodium BHB (Go BHB) | 3 Sodium BHB (Go BHB) |
4 Apple Cider Vinegar | 4 Apple Cider Vinegar |
5 Green Tea Leaf | 5 Green Tea Leaf |
6 Macadamia Nut Oil (70% tapioca) | 6 Macadamia Nut Oil (70% tapioca) |
Does the Max GT version work better than the original formula? Without research, it's difficult to know which is more effective – or if either is effective.
Keto GT vs. Keto 1500
Advanced Keto 1500 is another supplement listed on the Justified Labs website. It may also be offered by other companies too. How does it compare to the GT supplement? Here is the ingredients side by side:
Keto GT Advanced (2 capsuels) | Keto 1500 (2 capsuels) |
Proprietary blend 800 mg composed of the following | Proprietary blend 800 mg composed of the following |
1. Magnesium BHB (Go BHB) | 1. Magnesium BHB (Go BHB) |
2 Calcium BHB (Go BHB) | 2 Calcium BHB (Go BHB) |
3 Sodium BHB (Go BHB) | 3 Sodium BHB (Go BHB) |
4 Apple Cider Vinegar | 4 Apple Cider Vinegar |
5 Green Tea Leaf | 5 Green Tea Leaf |
6 Macadamia Nut Oil (70% on tapioca) | 6 Macadamia Nut Oil (70% on tapioca) |
As can be seen, Keto GT and Keto 1500 are the same. Keto 1500 also comes in a Max formula too. While “1500” appears in the name of the supplement, its proprietary blend contains 1200 mg (the same as Keto GT max). So why are there two different named supplements with identical ingredients?

Does Keto GT Really Work?
While it will take clinical research on the supplement to know for sure, I remain skeptical about weight-loss claims for all ketogenic supplements. While Keto GT will probably raise BHB levels, studies on beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) have not conclusively shown it improves weight loss results.
It works for me says
Really well-rounded unbiased review however I must say I’ve been using Keto GT and have lost 10 pounds over the last 2 months. So far me, it doesn’t matter what you say, I’m sticking with it.
Joe Cannon says
It works, glad to hear Keto GT has been working for you. continued success.
Jen says
When you said keto 1500 had the same ingredients as keto GT based on that I’m out. Have you ever seen anything like that before?
Joe Cannon says
Jen, I understand. I agree it’s odd how two different supplements have the same ingredients. I have seen this before. One example is Serovital and GF-9. Serovital is marketed to middle-aged women while GF-9 is marketed to middle-aged men.
See the SeroVital review for the comparison. Somebody needs to tell Shaquille O’Neal who is all over the web advertising GF-9.
stephen says
wow, I had no idea about this supplement. Thank you for the write-up.
Joe Cannon says
Thanks, Stephen.
