Update 8/9/20. “Have you tried that crazy wrap thing?” is the slogan I kept seeing online when I started looking into the company called “It Works!” This is because It Works! started out as a company that sold toning wraps that were said to make people skinnier. Since then, the company has branched out and now sells all kinds of different supplements. In this review, I want to look at the It Works Advanced Formula Fat Fighter (with “carb inhibitors”) and see if it really burns fat or not. I also want to take a look at It Works! the company too, in case you were as curious as I was. Hopefully, by the end of this review, you will have more information to help you do your own research, and have a better idea if the It Works Fat Fighter is right for you.
Who Makes It Works!
The website, MyItWorks.com was first registered in 2002 by a company called It Works Marketing. Over the years the address for the company has changed. This may reflect the company moving to larger headquarters.
Previous addresses for It Works Marketing (better known as It Works Global) include:
-
- 2006 44th Street, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49508
- 5325 E State Road 64, Bradenton, FL 34208-5534
The company is currently located at 908 Riverside Dr Palmetto, FL 34221-5035. Performing a google search for this address reveals a company, which is a very impressive 50,000 square foot building bearing the It Works name and logo.

It Works Better Business Bureau Rating
The BBB rating for It Works is “C+.” When I checked the BBB file, they had a consumer alert for It Works Marketing which stated that:
- “BBB has received a pattern of complaints from consumers alleging that after trying to cancel with the business, they continue to receive additional products.
- Consumers also state that they have found additional charges being taken that the business has not informed them would be occurring.
- Complaints also allege that the business continues to bill after cancellation, and consumers are not informed that there is a $50.00 cancellation fee.”
In response to the BBB, It Works Global stated:
- “The underlying cause of the majority of our complaints is the improper enrollment of Loyal Customers by Independent Distributors.
- The business indicated that the majority of complaints are received from Loyal Customers directly enrolled by a Distributor who did not adequately disclose or explain the auto shipment commitment or Membership Fee associated with becoming an It Works! Loyal Customer.
- With regard to billing issues, the business indicated that refunds processed on the same day as an original charge are considered voided transactions, and the pending charge drops off the customer's credit card statement.”
These are just highlights. See the BBB file” for updates and more information
In an article in Forbes Magazine it appears It Works Global started out as a company marketing toning body wraps. The It Works wraps might still be the company’s biggest seller, because when I searched for their website —MyItWorks.com—the tagline for the site was “Have You Tried That Crazy Wrap Thing?”
Dr. Bill Sukala's website has a review of It Works Wraps
It Works Fat Fighter Research
When I searched the National Library of Medicine (which lists millions of studies from around the globe) for “It Works Fat Fighter,” no studies showed up. Likewise, doing a Google search for the product turned up no studies. In addition, MyItWorks.com website shows no research.
Therefore, I'm forced to concluded at this time that the product lacks clinical evidence that it works as claimed. If the Fat Fighter works, it’s because of the research on some of its ingredients. Let’s take a look at the research on those ingredients now and see what we can discover.
Fat Fighter Ingredients
According to the product label, a bottle contains 60 tablets. Two tablets contain the following ingredients:
% DV | |
Chromium dinicotinate glycinate 150 mcg | 130% |
NeOpuntia (cactus leaf) 500 mg | N/A |
Proprietary blend of the following 510 mg | N/A |
1. Garcinia cambogia fruit extract | N/A |
2. Green tea leaf extract | N/A |
3. Phaseolamin | N/A |
4. Bitter melon fruit | N/A |
5. Banaba leaf extract | N/A |
6. Gymnema Sylvestre leaf extract | N/A |
7. Wheat amalyase inhibitor | N/A |
8. Vanadium | N/A |
N/A = there is no daily value
Now that we know the ingredients, let's see if we can find any research on the ingredients to see if it really does fight fat.
It Works Fat Fighter Ingredients
Chromium
Chromium has been popular in weight loss supplements for decades which is ironic given that the majority of human studies I've seen show this is not the case. Here is my review of chromium. Notice how many studies show it doesn't help weight loss.
One thing chromium might do is reduce blood sugar levels. Keep this in mind as you review the ingredients below.
NeOpuntia
The name NeOpuntia (neo-pUnch-a) is a trademarked name for the prickly pear cactus called Opuntia ficus-indica. The cactus is said to bind fat, preventing it from being absorbed.
As we absorb less fat, we absorb fewer calories. Theoretically, this might lead to weight loss. This is why some websites call NeOpuntia a “fat-fighting cactus.” NeOpuntia is a product of the French company, Bio Serae Labs SAS.
Two tablets of the It Works Fat Fighter contain 500 mg of NeOpuntia.
In one company-sponsored study 68 women (20–55 years of age) with metabolic syndrome (basically “pre-diabetes”) were given either a placebo or 4.8 grams NeOpuntia 3 times a day with meals. People ate a “well-balanced diet” with “controlled lipid input” (in other words, they ate a low-fat diet). Forty-nine women completed the study.
Results: The women taking NeOpuntia showed significant improvements in pre-diabetes symptoms, such that 39% of the women were no longer diagnosed with metabolic syndrome. These are very impressive results – but there are two things you need to know:
1. This study makes no mention of weight loss.
2. The people in this study used 4.8 grams of NeOpuntia per day. This is FAR MORE than the 500 mg (1/2 gram) that 2 tablets of It Works Fat Fighter provides. Even taking 6 tables per meal, only provides 3000 mg (3 grams). Each person in the study used 1.6 grams of NeOpuntia with each meal, for a total of 4.8 grams per day.
Opuntia ficus-indica is the main ingredient in the popular health drink called TriVita Nopalea Juice, which you may have seen advertised on TV. See that review for additional information.
See my review of Calorase/FBCX, for more information.
Garcinia Cambogia
There are several weight loss studies involving Garcinia cambogia. Its active ingredient is said to be hydroxycitric acid (HCA). The way Garcinia cambogia is said to work is by preventing carbohydrates from being turned into fat.
In my review of Garcinia cambogia, I noted the research showing it worked (helped weight loss) used at least 1,667 mg per day (or 1,000 mg of HCA per day). This is important because the entire proprietary blend in It Works Fat Fighter (2 tablets) only contains a total of 510 mg.
Garcinia cambogia is the first ingredient listed, so it likely comprises most of this blend. But, I see no evidence this amount works. If you read my Garcinia cambogia review, you’ll see studies showing that 500 mg did not work. Based on what I’ve found, I don’t think the Fat Fighter has enough.
Garcinia is controversial. Over the years several reports link it to liver problems.
See the garcinia Cambogia review
Green Tea Leaf Extract
While they don't tell us what extract they are using, the label says that this extract has 20% caffeine. To me that says caffeine might be the active ingredient in this extract—but how much caffeine does the product contain? They don’t tell us.
Caffeine is one of the most most popular ingredients in weight loss supplements. It’s an ingredient in these supplements which you may have heard of before:
Caffeine is so popular that I even once reviewed a caffeine shampoo! That said, I’m not convinced that caffeine―by itself―helps people lose weight. That's because the best weight loss research usually combines caffeine with ephedra, another stimulant. Ephedra is banned from supplements in the US because it was linked to several deaths.
Phaseolamin
As the label indicates, this refers to an extract from white kidney beans. Another name for this ingredient is Phaseolus vulgaris. On some websites, this stuff is also called Bean Pod extract. Another name is Fabenol—as it was called in the supplement Lean and Fab.
Phaseolamin is said to inhibit a carbohydrate-digesting enzyme called alpha-amylase. If you block this enzyme, in theory, carbs would not be digested as well. If we can’t digest carbs, we can’t absorb their calories. In this way, phaseolamin is supposed to promote weight loss.
This is why phaseolamin is called a “carb blocker.” There is some weight loss research on phaseolamin. Let's take a look at some of that research.
Study 1
In one study researchers gave 50 people either a 1,500 mg placebo or a phaseolamin supplement called “Phase 2” twice daily with meals (3,000 mg total) for 8 weeks.
Those receiving the Phase 2 supplement lost an average of 3.7 lbs compared to the placebo group which lost an average of 1.65 pounds. One problem -and it's a big one – was only 27 people completed this study. That’s almost a 50% drop out rate. Why did so many people not complete the study?
Additionally, researchers gave people 3,000 mg of the Phase 2 supplement. We are not told how much is in the Fat Fighter – just that the entire proprietary blend equals 510 mg per 2 tablets. if using 6 tables per day it would be around 6 X510 = about 1530 mg.
Phase 2 is a proprietary phaseolamin supplement that is in many products.
Study 2
In this study, 12 people who ate a normal meal were randomly given either a placebo or Phaseolus vulgaris extract. Those taking the Phaseolus vulgaris extract had
- reduced appetite
- lower ghrelin levels (a hunger hormone)
- reduced insulin levels
- lower blood sugar
This was a very small study and only lasted 3 hours, but it’s interesting and worthy of a follow-up study.
Study 3
In this investigation 60 slightly overweight men and women were randomly given either a placebo or 445 mg of a Phaseolus vulgaris extract for 30 days before their main carbohydrate-containing meal of the day.
Those who received the Phaseolus vulgaris extract showed a significantly greater reduction in body weight, fat mass, BMI, and other parameters, compared to placebo. The product used in this study was also called Phase 2.
There are also many mouse studies on this ingredient. Since we are not mice, I won't discuss them.
Bitter Melon Fruit
It’s called bitter melon because it has a bitter taste when eaten. Other names include Momordica charantia bitter gourd and salsamino
There are over 200 different compounds in this plant.
The majority of that research appears to be limited to rats and mice. Much of the research is deals with how bitter melon might help diabetes and blood sugar issues by way of its ability to increase insulin levels.
In one study, researchers treated human fat cells with bitter melon juice. They noted that the juice enhanced fat burning in those fat cells. While intriguing, this was still just a test tube study. The real test would be to give it to people.
See the review of Apple Cider Vinegar. You may be surprised by that research.
Gymnema Sylvestre
The leaves of the Gymnema plant appear to have a blood-sugar-lowering effect, and it might also reduce carb absorption. The majority of the weight loss research, however, involved mice and rats. One human study might provide some insights on why some of the ingredients in the Fat Fighter were chosen.
In this 8 week study, 60 overweight people were randomly given either:
- Placebo
- Garcinia cambogia (4667 mg)
- Garcinia cambogia (4994 mg) + niacin-bounded chromium (4mg) + Gymnema sylvestre (400 mg)
Those getting the combination of all 3 ingredients showed more weight loss than those taking the placebo. But, the amounts of the ingredients used in this study are far MORE than are contained in It Works Fat Fighter.
For more insights see these other reviews:
- Healthe Trim (for weight loss)
- Glucotor V2 (for diabetes)
Wheat Amylase Inhibitor
Amylase is an enzyme that helps us absorb carbs. So if you inhibit this enzyme, it might reduce our ability to absorb carbs. This ingredient just sounds to me like a carb/starch blocker derived from wheat. But, just calling it “wheat amylase inhibitor” is vague, because without knowing the exact name of the inhibitor compound, I can’t say much about it, other than it probably works similarly to phaseolamin, discussed above.
Vanadium
Another name for this compound is vanadyl sulfate. Vanadium appears to have an insulin-like effect and might reduce blood sugar.
Vanadium does seem to lower blood sugar in people with type II diabetes. Vanadium is listed last in the ingredients of the proprietary blend. This means it is likely to present in the least amount. This is good because vanadium might become toxic at high levels. The amount, beyond which side effects might be noticed, is currently thought to be 1.8 mg per day for adults.
For more on vanadium see these reviews:
Blood-Sugar Lowering Ingredients
Here are the ingredients in It Works Fat Fighter that might reduce blood sugar levels:
- Chromium
- Gymnema Sylvestre
- Vanadium
Ingredients That Block Carbs
Here are the ingredients in It Works Fat Fighter that are thought to be carb blockers:
- Garcinia cambogia
- Phaseolamin
- Gymnema Sylvestre (maybe)
- Wheat amylase inhibitor
Note. While I call them carb blockers, the It Works company calls them “carb inhibitors.” these phrases mean the same thing.
Ingredients That Block Fat
Here are the ingredients in It Works Fat Fighter that might block fat:
- NeOpuntia
So, there are more carb blockers in Fat Fighter than fat blockers. Based on this, a better name might be “It Works Carb Fighter.”
Ingredients with the Most Evidence
Based on the studies I could locate, here are the ingredients in It Works Fat Fighter that I feel have the most evidence and are likely the main active ingredients in this product:
I highlight this ingredient because:
1. There are more weight loss studies on this ingredient than any of the others in the product.
2. There aren't as many negative side effects for this as say garcinia Cambogia
It Works Fat Fighter Side Effects
Here are a few things to think about when taking It Works Fat Fighters. This list is not complete:
- Start with less than suggested for the first week to see how you respond
- Stop all supplements at least 2 weeks before surgery
- Pregnant and breastfeeding moms should speak to their doctor first
- If you take any medications, speak to your doctor and pharmacist
- Bitter melon might reduce blood sugar, which may be an issue for some people who take diabetes medications.
- Gymnema Sylvestre might lower blood sugar levels.
- Vanadium might lower blood sugar. At high doses, vanadium might also cause a color change on the tongue (a green color). The amount which might cause side effects is controversial, due to the lack of good research on vanadium.
In the comments below, some have said they developed headaches, fainting and one person mentioned seizures.
If you had any side effects—positive or negative—leave a comment below so others (including me) can benefit from your experiences.
Does The Fat Fighter Work?
It's hard to say at this time if the product helps people lose weight or blocks fat. No clinical studies on the supplement could be located. I admit I could be wrong and the supplement might do exactly what its name says it will do. But, for me, I'd like to see a few studies first to see if it really works.

I read this review because I was thinking about adding the fat fighters to my regime. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. I started the Vital core vitamins about 2 weeks ago. I am amazed! I went from spending most of my time tired on the couch to exercising every day for the past week. Sometimes walking the dog twice a day to spending over an hour doing real workouts! I’m not being paid for this review and I am not a distributor. If you want to just feel better in general, take the Vital core vitamins.
Joe says
Hi Nicole, thank you for sharing. I took a look at Vital Core. I noticed it has some green tea. I didn’t see any mention of caffeine in Vital Core so I’m not sure. It also has some raspberry ketones (click to read my review on that).
At the end of the day I’ll just be happy that you are feeling better and able to walking your dog 🙂
Have you heard of ribose? Here is my review of Ribose for fibromyalgia.
Tammy says
I am 50 years old and a five year breast cancer survivor. I am interested in the fat fighters. I currently take aromasin as a preventative med for recurrence of cancer. Any info regarding that combo?
Joe says
Hi Tammy, I don’t have any info on the fat fighters and the aromasin you are taking. Might I suggest you show the ingredients in the fat fighter to the pharmacist where you get your aromasin and see what she/he thinks (print up the ingredients listed in the review). Let us know what they say.
Congratulations on beating breast cancer!! Really great news 🙂
Linda King says
I think if you genuinely wanted to see if it worked, you would’ve taken it yourself to see if it works. All I see are case studies and tests and “research.” I don’t think you can truly be unbiased unless you’re willing to try it yourself to see if it works. It’s obviously working for someone because the company keeps growing??? I only speak about products that I have actually tried. THOSE are the reviews that I trust, along with proof that it was taken correctly.
Joe says
Hi Linda, with respect, I prefer to go to research rather than opinions.
Tammy says
I agree with you Linda! You can’t really say something doesn’t work if you haven’t tried it yourself just because it may not work for others doesn’t mean that I might not work for you. I believe in real life stories and testimonies more than case studies but everyone has the right to their own opinions. All I can say is don’t bash something that you have never tried. Obviously the company is growing and if their products didn’t work they wouldn’t still be growing.
Joe says
Hi Tammy, I was never bashing it. just showing research on the ingredients and my opinions based on the research.
Catherine says
Is there enough green tea extract to cause liver damage? There have been multiple cases where people who are taking diet pills have suffered acute liver damage because of the amount of green tea extract. I was just wondering if the amount in these would be considered dangerous. Thanks!
Joe says
Hi Catherine, this is a controversial issue. There have been some reports of people having liver issues associated with green tea. I dont think anyone can give you a definitive amount that might cause this and I personally think the risk is low because millions of people drink green tea every day and they dont have liver problems. In some of the reports of this, people may have been taking a supplement that contained many ingredients -in addition to green tea. This leaves open the possibility that it might have been something else -or a combination of ingredients that caused the liver problems.
My personal opinion is that green tea (the whole plant) is better than a single green tea extract. Even then I think the risk is low because many supplements contain green tea extracts. I wish I could give you a better answer to your question. If you have liver issues or take any medications, my advice would be to talk to your doctor and your pharmacists. Im sure they can offer some additional advice that might help.
Becca says
I have been diagnosed with MS the beginning of last year, would/could there be any possible side effects that you might know of?
Joe says
Becca, not that I am aware of but I recommend you show the ingredients to the doctor overseeing your MS.
Becca says
Okay thank you!!
Miriam says
I have been taking fat fighters for a while now, and I get dizzy for a few hours after I take them. Has anyone else experienced this?
Kate says
Drink more water!!! It happened to me once and I was trying to pinpoint why. I had only drank 1/2 glass water. Daily water intake is key!!
Ryan says
I was wondering if anyone has taken FF’s along with metformin for treating type II diabetes. I am on metformin now, and it does not seem to be helping much. I know I should talk to my dr, but my appointment isnt for another 2 weeks. If this is safe to take with metformin I would like to try.
Joe says
Hi Ryan, while I dont think it will hurt, are you doing any regular exercise, like walking. Walking will help bring down blood sugar and A1C levels (do you know what your A1C level is?). Hows your weight? do you need to lose any? That can definitely help. I know someone who is wheelchair bound. Once he lost weight, his blood sugar and A1c reduced so much he didn’t need his meds anymore. While limiting carbs gets a lot of attention when it comes to type II diabetes, remember that saturated fat can also play a role. Id take a look at that too.
Karen says
FYI, alpha-amylase inhibitors (AKA carb blockers), mostly extracted from beans, have been marketed on and off for at least 25 years. The problem with them is that if you get a dose high enough to actually block the carb breakdown, you will likely encounter the the most common side effect: lots of gas! This is because the carbs don’t get broken down in the stomach and small intestine as they normally would, but reach the colon, where our normal bacteria break it down and the major by-product of this breakdown is, you guessed it GAS. I suspect this may be the reason so many subjects dropped out of the study you mentioned. (I’m a microbiologist by training and a clinical scientist.)
BTW, I really like your site. You do the type of research that I would normally try to do on a product but don’t have the time. Keep emphasizing those clinical results (or lack of them).
Joe says
Hi Karen, thanks for pointing that out and I appreciate your kind words too.
Mimi says
I would like to say that the It Works! Fat Fighters does not make you lose weight. These tablets are taken during or within an hour of each meal to block fat. Meaning that if you eat a certain meal your body will not store the fat. If you are wanting to lose weight Thermo Fit is the way to go.
Joe says
Hi Mimi, I appreciate your impute but, if that is true – and it really did block fat, then weight loss would be a side effect of that (assuming no over eating). Think about it. Each gram of fat has 9 calories. As we reduce calorie intake (through dieting, blocking fat absorption, blocking carb absorption etc.), this promotes a calorie deficit (assuming we don’t over eat). Calorie deficits promote weight loss.
If the product is a fat blocker, why does the product contain Phaseolamin, which is a well known carb blocker?
brandi says
Hi i wanted to say something about fat fighters! I personally have been using them and other It Works products for over a year now! I have lost and maintained 33lbs of weight loss, got rid of my lactose intolerance, and now have regular bowel movements! But best of all i lowered my A1C by 2 points!! That is huge!! Lowering your blood sugar when you are so close to being diabetic is amazing and the only thing ive done differently is take my It Works Greens and fat fighters daily!! Its way better than being on and paying for medication for the rest of my life!! It Works WORKS and its customers are the best example of that! Thanks
Dana B says
I like Thermo fit also, fat fighter not so much. It caused me abdominal distress. Thermometers fit does curb my appetite. I take two in the morning and it helps all day. I might start taking one or two in the evening to stop cravings at night.
Tom Behnke says
I’ve just recently purchased the product as a friend was selling and I wanted to try something new as well as help her out.
I appreciate all the feedback that the author as well as others has provided here.
I was most worried about side affects and the diarrhea thing doesn’t get me too pumped.
Hopefully, this Fat Fighter thing works to help shed 3-5 total pounds.
As someone pointed out, you can’t count on ‘magic pills’ to turn you skinny.
With working out, eating right and maybe this little helper, I’m hoping the goal gets realized!
Kate says
Not sure if it’s related ,but after I started taking my blood pressure got high and had been that way a few days therefore I may discontinue use if it continues to be high.. My appetite is reduced drastically. And I’ve been using the it works defining gel as well and I feel good about it in general. I don’t feel bloated at all,as some would say . I feel normal. I believe this product will work I’ll update you on results.
Joe says
Hi Kate, what was your blood pressure normally and how high did it go?
Brooke says
How have you liked the product so far?
Lynn says
I just started the fat fighters today. I am looking to lose 20 pounds. I eat healthy 5 out of 7 days and exercise 4 out 7 days so I’ll monitor my progress.
Joe says
Hi Lynn, I hope it helps. Much success and keep us posted.
Lynn says
I used it for 3 days and felt extremely full to where I could not eat anything. I lost 3 pounds the first week mainly because my appetite wasn’t there. Now that I feel normal again, I will start taking them to see if I can lose more weight.
Michelle says
I feel you gave an unbiased review based on research of the individual ingredients, so thanks for that.
I used several ItWorks products including the FatFighters (FF’s) a couple years ago and found that the FF’s lowered blood sugar (b.s.) for two people I knew with Type 2 Diabetes.
I let my two Type 1 Diabetic sons try FF’s after eating pizza which previously had wreaked havoc on their b.s. for up to 8 hrs after eating, and with the FF’s their b.s. was in normal range 2 hours after eating and for the rest of the evening. (We have since found another way to have good b.s. for them after pizza & other high fat/carb meals without using the FF’s or any other product).
Recently I was dx with pre-diabetes & monitor both my weight & b.s. daily (& lost 15 lbs & lowered overall bloodsugars using The Blood Sugar Diet book), &
I’ve noticed if I have 2 FFs after a high fat/carb meal my weight is the same or decreased the next day and b.s. stable, and if I do NOT take the FF’s after a high fat or carb meal my b.s. is higher & my weight has increased the next day. Just my personal experience.
Joe says
Hi Michelle, do both of your sons have type I or type II diabetes? Just curious.
I read you were reciently diagnosed with prediabetes. The good news is that this can be reversed if you catch it in time. If your sons also have type II diabetes (not type I) then there is a chance that this might also be reversed. They key is to stop eating pizza and other junk foods regularly. They need to lose weight. Weight loss is critical for most people with type II diabetes and pre-diabetes. I know someone who is confined to a wheelchair who was diagnosed with prediaetes. By losing 50 pounds, he got off of his diabetes medications. Here is an interview I did once with a woman who reversed her diabetes. This woman’s diabetes was so bad she was even injecting insulin.
Please take this seriously. Diabetes is sinister in the damage it causes. Please don’t just rely on those fat fighter pills or other supplements to manage this.
Sorry to seem preachy Michelle. I just want you to be healthy.
Sonya says
I am not being paid to give a good review. I have personally seen great results with this product. I used the gel before I became a distributor. If the directions are followed, results are great and for some, unbelievable. I believe that this gel does what it promises.
I have seen an improvement to bruising, varicose veins, scars and cellulite. If you have been struggling with any of these issues, see what improvements you find for yourself. Wishing you the best!
Courtney says
I’m on my fat fighters now for about a week. Side effects. Diarrhea. I literally have no appetite lately. And whatever I do manage to consume something, It makes an appearance about an hour later.
Save yourself the $36 plus tax . Go to Walmart. Buy dulcolax or ex LAX and just pop two a day. Guaranteed same results
Michelle says
I believe this & all products probably effect people in different ways. I have used the Fat Fighters on & off for a couple years & have never had any diarreah from them.
Tarah says
I am the same way…never experienced diarrhea or constipation.
Debbie B says
I have just started to use this product I am on my second week, yes I have more gas then usual but it is helping me and I lost so far 1 lb. and my goal is to lose 35 lbs. I am type 2 and do not take medicine for it because I can handle my sugar intake to where I have not needed any medicine for 2 yrs since I was diagnosed. Must be I have huge tolerance for sweets ( the do not stuff ). I got this products because my friend of 19 yrs is a distributor and she lost 50 lbs so I trust her opinion more so then anyone else. I have had 2 open heart surgeries and need to lose the weight for these reasons and I have tried many things for yrs and could not lose the weight. I do know that the healthiest way to shed lbs is to do it slow and this product is helping me do that…

The Fat Fighters upsets my stomach really bad!! So does the Confianza. I do love the greens and the Hair, skin, nails though.

My wife bought some of the ItWorks products to help out our niece who was selling them. First off, I have used probably 50 different protein powders in the 25 plus years. I have worked out off and on and by far,ItWorks is the worst tasting stuff i have ever ingested and that says a lot, being i used the old Weider mass gainer that turned out to be saw dust when tested.
I have used almost a bottle of the fat fighter and it must not have much caffeine because i took SIX tablets and took a nap. Their products are a joke and a rip off and i had my wife cancel the rest of the subscription. It is one of the biggest, longest running scams i think i have ever seen.
I know this was a review of the fat fighter but had to vent about what garbage everything is that they sell.
Mherapai says
Agreed. Way too expensive for what little it is actually doing for you. I also feel that it is yet another way to take advantaged of desperate people who seem to go from one thing to another going broke along the way in hope somebody is being honest instead of just wanting their money. A Keto diet for 2 weeks would double the results without any products.

Thanks for the information about itworks wraps and products.i would love to see studies to see if it really does work.

Several points I want to make here:
1. Vitamins, supplements, and most all other health and wellness products are not regulated thus allowing companies to market freely. 99.9% do NOT have any clinical studies to prove they actually work. I did find one or two that did mention clinical studies. But upon review, I found them to be really sketchy and not very detailed which leads one to believe they were not real studies. However, you can research ANY product on the web and find hundreds of reviews for and against it. I would suggest finding several trusted friends using the product if you want reliable information or just try the product.
2. The product mentioned here may not work for everyone. Like any other medication or supplement, it may make some sick, some may have awesome results and for others,it may not do anything.
3. Pyramids were outlawed years ago so that is a mute point. It Works as well as other network marketing companies are not Pyramid programs.
4. This site makes money from publishing this review. They also make money by selling other products and ads on this site. They only provide their opinion and it does prove anything for or against the product. The main purpose of this review is to bring traffic to this site.
5. I have several friends in network marketing and some are making $100,000, some $50,000, and some only $10,000 a year. Some lost money and dropped out. Making any real money requires WORK. I realize that is a word that some don’t understand but “Keep doing what you’re doing and keep getting what you’re getting”. Some people want more. If you are not happy with your current status, do something about it other than just complaining. Take a risk or shut up complaining about others chasing their dreams. I have another epiphany for you: THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS GET RICH QUICK!!!
6. The finally the most important reason. There are NO magic pills to make you skinny. Let me say it again. THERE ARE NO MAGIC PILLS TO MAKE YOU SKINNY. If you weigh 300lbs, you can take a bottle of fat fighters a day inducing a Civil War with the blubber in the seat of you pants but your scale will still say “One at a time please!!!” when you step on it. These products were created, like most others, to work with a healthy diet and some exercise. Does not mean it has to be a perfect diet including 3 hours a day in the gym either. These products were designed to help you better manage your weight and improve your health, not provide you with an excuse to stick anything you want in your pie hole and wonder why you have to put your belt on with a boomerang……..
Just saying…….

Hi Barry, thanks for your words. I agree with much of what you write although I would disagree with you when you said “The main purpose of this review is to bring traffic to this site.” That is not correct. The main purpose of this site is to help people. I share my knowledge and insights to give fair, honest reviews to things people want to know about.
Like everyone else, I do have to make a living and yes, this site does make money (as I make clear on the FAQ page and Affiliate page of this), but that is a distant second to my desire to help people by giving them information that is free from internet hype so that they can better decide for themselves if something is right for them. Anyone who has ever emailed me knows this is true.
Almost weekly, I get offers from supplement companies that want to:
1. buy ads on this site
2. offer me big payouts if I will refer people to their products
3. give them a positive review
4. purchase my email list so they can use it to sell their products to those who sign up for my newsletter
I turn down every one of them – and I ALWAYS will.
I know you were not attacking me. I just wanted to mention this since we dont know each other and this might be your first visit to my site.

You are correct with your assumption. It was never my intent to direct negative words toward you. Your site is Considerably more informative than most I have come across. Very well written. My intent is to educate others regarding any health and wells products they may want to use or sell.
Being IT expert for the last 25 years, I know that 99.9% of information on the web is incorrect. Either directly or indirectly. As I mentioned, due to the fact the most products have zero clinical studies, one should not always assume that everything they see on the web is 100% correct. My intent is to challenge people to try something new. Don’t always relay on what you find on the web. ???

Hi Barry, Amen to that 🙂

Barry your review was spot on! Thank you!

Well said Barry. Ive had previous discussions with others on this site. People assume that it’s a pyramid scam or just a scam cause a certain product doesn’t work for them. I’m diagnosed with Bipolar anxiety and depression, and for the past 15 years I’ve been trying to figure out which meds works best for me. Just like health products, not all are going to give the same results or nother work at all…And like you’ve mentioned and Ive stated in previous discussions, exercise and a healthy diet is essential everyday… #NoMagicPills #HardWorkPaysOff.

Its not the product. I did not try and never will. Enrollment means that you be ripped off if you cancelled within three months. My friend that is a distributor told me about it, and after my enrollment I could not try the product for personal reasons, so I called the customer service representative, and the person told me that If I want to cancel I will be charged a $50 fee, but she could waive the fee and that my friend will responsible for paying the fee.
WHAT??? YES, you read that right. DON’T GET FOOLED!! DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY! There are better products out there. I will tell my friend not to sell this product or any other product from this company. And before you enroll, or buy anything like it, read the reviews, they will help you on not get fooled, and save money.
Kenny says
It’s obvious your distrubutor told you about it. It’s like cancelling anything else, you get charged a fee…Welcome to America.
Bethy says
When you sign up as a loyal customer it says you have two options you can pay a $50 enrollment membership fee OR you can waive that fee by signing up for a three month auto shipment. It also says in bold if you cancel before the three months you will get charged the $50 enrollment fee. It is the same as if you wanted a costco or sams membership. You are paying for a membership that get you the products the same price that the distributors pay. But it is out there in very bold print.
Rosa Moralez says
Very well said. It is written in black and white…and if they dont read it..then its their own fault.
Michele Cummings says
I just changed my order for my auto ship will I be billed for canceling
Joe says
Hi Michele, you should ask the company that question. They can best help you.
Debra says
That is correct, as a loyal customer you sign for a 3 month autoship of products you choose. At month 4, you get free shipping and the continued 40% discounted price on products for life because you’ve met your obligation. If you choose to cancel at that time, there is zero cancellation fee.
