Update 8/9/20. “Have you tried that crazy wrap thing?” is the slogan I kept seeing online when I started looking into the company called “It Works!” This is because It Works! started out as a company that sold toning wraps that were said to make people skinnier. Since then, the company has branched out and now sells all kinds of different supplements. In this review, I want to look at the It Works Advanced Formula Fat Fighter (with “carb inhibitors”) and see if it really burns fat or not. I also want to take a look at It Works! the company too, in case you were as curious as I was. Hopefully, by the end of this review, you will have more information to help you do your own research, and have a better idea if the It Works Fat Fighter is right for you.
Who Makes It Works!
The website, MyItWorks.com was first registered in 2002 by a company called It Works Marketing. Over the years the address for the company has changed. This may reflect the company moving to larger headquarters.

It Works Better Business Bureau Rating
The BBB rating for It Works is “C+.” When I checked the BBB file, they had a consumer alert for It Works Marketing which stated that:
- “BBB has received a pattern of complaints from consumers alleging that after trying to cancel with the business, they continue to receive additional products.
- Consumers also state that they have found additional charges being taken that the business has not informed them would be occurring.
- Complaints also allege that the business continues to bill after cancellation, and consumers are not informed that there is a $50.00 cancellation fee.”
In response to the BBB, It Works Global stated:
- “The underlying cause of the majority of our complaints is the improper enrollment of Loyal Customers by Independent Distributors.
- The business indicated that the majority of complaints are received from Loyal Customers directly enrolled by a Distributor who did not adequately disclose or explain the auto shipment commitment or Membership Fee associated with becoming an It Works! Loyal Customer.
- With regard to billing issues, the business indicated that refunds processed on the same day as an original charge are considered voided transactions, and the pending charge drops off the customer's credit card statement.”
These are just highlights. See the BBB file” for updates and more information
In an article in Forbes Magazine it appears It Works Global started out as a company marketing toning body wraps. The It Works wraps might still be the company’s biggest seller, because when I searched for their website —MyItWorks.com—the tagline for the site was “Have You Tried That Crazy Wrap Thing?”
Dr. Bill Sukala's website has a review of It Works Wraps
It Works Fat Fighter Research
When I searched the National Library of Medicine (which lists millions of studies from around the globe) for “It Works Fat Fighter,” no studies showed up. Likewise, doing a Google search for the product turned up no studies. In addition, MyItWorks.com website shows no research.
Therefore, I'm forced to concluded at this time that the product lacks clinical evidence that it works as claimed. If the Fat Fighter works, it’s because of the research on some of its ingredients. Let’s take a look at the research on those ingredients now and see what we can discover.
Fat Fighter Ingredients
According to the product label, a bottle contains 60 tablets. Two tablets contain the following ingredients:
% DV | |
Chromium dinicotinate glycinate 150 mcg | 130% |
NeOpuntia (cactus leaf) 500 mg | N/A |
Proprietary blend of the following 510 mg | N/A |
1. Garcinia cambogia fruit extract | N/A |
2. Green tea leaf extract | N/A |
3. Phaseolamin | N/A |
4. Bitter melon fruit | N/A |
5. Banaba leaf extract | N/A |
6. Gymnema Sylvestre leaf extract | N/A |
7. Wheat amalyase inhibitor | N/A |
8. Vanadium | N/A |
N/A = there is no daily value
Now that we know the ingredients, let's see if we can find any research on the ingredients to see if it really does fight fat.
It Works Fat Fighter Ingredients
Chromium
Chromium has been popular in weight loss supplements for decades which is ironic given that the majority of human studies I've seen show this is not the case. Here is my review of chromium. Notice how many studies show it doesn't help weight loss.
One thing chromium might do is reduce blood sugar levels. Keep this in mind as you review the ingredients below.
NeOpuntia
The name NeOpuntia (neo-pUnch-a) is a trademarked name for the prickly pear cactus called Opuntia ficus-indica. The cactus is said to bind fat, preventing it from being absorbed.
As we absorb less fat, we absorb fewer calories. Theoretically, this might lead to weight loss. This is why some websites call NeOpuntia a “fat-fighting cactus.” NeOpuntia is a product of the French company, Bio Serae Labs SAS.
Two tablets of the It Works Fat Fighter contain 500 mg of NeOpuntia.
In one company-sponsored study 68 women (20–55 years of age) with metabolic syndrome (basically “pre-diabetes”) were given either a placebo or 4.8 grams NeOpuntia 3 times a day with meals. People ate a “well-balanced diet” with “controlled lipid input” (in other words, they ate a low-fat diet). Forty-nine women completed the study.
Results: The women taking NeOpuntia showed significant improvements in pre-diabetes symptoms, such that 39% of the women were no longer diagnosed with metabolic syndrome. These are very impressive results – but there are two things you need to know:
1. This study makes no mention of weight loss.
2. The people in this study used 4.8 grams of NeOpuntia per day. This is FAR MORE than the 500 mg (1/2 gram) that 2 tablets of It Works Fat Fighter provides. Even taking 6 tables per meal, only provides 3000 mg (3 grams). Each person in the study used 1.6 grams of NeOpuntia with each meal, for a total of 4.8 grams per day.
Opuntia ficus-indica is the main ingredient in the popular health drink called TriVita Nopalea Juice, which you may have seen advertised on TV. See that review for additional information.
See my review of Calorase/FBCX, for more information.
Garcinia Cambogia
There are several weight loss studies involving Garcinia cambogia. Its active ingredient is said to be hydroxycitric acid (HCA). The way Garcinia cambogia is said to work is by preventing carbohydrates from being turned into fat.
In my review of Garcinia cambogia, I noted the research showing it worked (helped weight loss) used at least 1,667 mg per day (or 1,000 mg of HCA per day). This is important because the entire proprietary blend in It Works Fat Fighter (2 tablets) only contains a total of 510 mg.
Garcinia cambogia is the first ingredient listed, so it likely comprises most of this blend. But, I see no evidence this amount works. If you read my Garcinia cambogia review, you’ll see studies showing that 500 mg did not work. Based on what I’ve found, I don’t think the Fat Fighter has enough.
Garcinia is controversial. Over the years several reports link it to liver problems.
See the garcinia Cambogia review
Green Tea Leaf Extract
While they don't tell us what extract they are using, the label says that this extract has 20% caffeine. To me that says caffeine might be the active ingredient in this extract—but how much caffeine does the product contain? They don’t tell us.
Caffeine is one of the most most popular ingredients in weight loss supplements. It’s an ingredient in these supplements which you may have heard of before:
Caffeine is so popular that I even once reviewed a caffeine shampoo! That said, I’m not convinced that caffeine―by itself―helps people lose weight. That's because the best weight loss research usually combines caffeine with ephedra, another stimulant. Ephedra is banned from supplements in the US because it was linked to several deaths.
Phaseolamin
As the label indicates, this refers to an extract from white kidney beans. Another name for this ingredient is Phaseolus vulgaris. On some websites, this stuff is also called Bean Pod extract. Another name is Fabenol—as it was called in the supplement Lean and Fab.
Phaseolamin is said to inhibit a carbohydrate-digesting enzyme called alpha-amylase. If you block this enzyme, in theory, carbs would not be digested as well. If we can’t digest carbs, we can’t absorb their calories. In this way, phaseolamin is supposed to promote weight loss.
This is why phaseolamin is called a “carb blocker.” There is some weight loss research on phaseolamin. Let's take a look at some of that research.
Study 1
In one study researchers gave 50 people either a 1,500 mg placebo or a phaseolamin supplement called “Phase 2” twice daily with meals (3,000 mg total) for 8 weeks.
Those receiving the Phase 2 supplement lost an average of 3.7 lbs compared to the placebo group which lost an average of 1.65 pounds. One problem -and it's a big one – was only 27 people completed this study. That’s almost a 50% drop out rate. Why did so many people not complete the study?
Additionally, researchers gave people 3,000 mg of the Phase 2 supplement. We are not told how much is in the Fat Fighter – just that the entire proprietary blend equals 510 mg per 2 tablets. if using 6 tables per day it would be around 6 X510 = about 1530 mg.
Phase 2 is a proprietary phaseolamin supplement that is in many products.
Study 2
In this study, 12 people who ate a normal meal were randomly given either a placebo or Phaseolus vulgaris extract. Those taking the Phaseolus vulgaris extract had
- reduced appetite
- lower ghrelin levels (a hunger hormone)
- reduced insulin levels
- lower blood sugar
This was a very small study and only lasted 3 hours, but it’s interesting and worthy of a follow-up study.
Study 3
In this investigation 60 slightly overweight men and women were randomly given either a placebo or 445 mg of a Phaseolus vulgaris extract for 30 days before their main carbohydrate-containing meal of the day.
Those who received the Phaseolus vulgaris extract showed a significantly greater reduction in body weight, fat mass, BMI, and other parameters, compared to placebo. The product used in this study was also called Phase 2.
There are also many mouse studies on this ingredient. Since we are not mice, I won't discuss them.
Bitter Melon Fruit
It’s called bitter melon because it has a bitter taste when eaten. Other names include Momordica charantia bitter gourd and salsamino
There are over 200 different compounds in this plant.
The majority of that research appears to be limited to rats and mice. Much of the research is deals with how bitter melon might help diabetes and blood sugar issues by way of its ability to increase insulin levels.
In one study, researchers treated human fat cells with bitter melon juice. They noted that the juice enhanced fat burning in those fat cells. While intriguing, this was still just a test tube study. The real test would be to give it to people.
See the review of Apple Cider Vinegar. You may be surprised by that research.
Gymnema Sylvestre
The leaves of the Gymnema plant appear to have a blood-sugar-lowering effect, and it might also reduce carb absorption. The majority of the weight loss research, however, involved mice and rats. One human study might provide some insights on why some of the ingredients in the Fat Fighter were chosen.
In this 8 week study, 60 overweight people were randomly given either:
- Placebo
- Garcinia cambogia (4667 mg)
- Garcinia cambogia (4994 mg) + niacin-bounded chromium (4mg) + Gymnema sylvestre (400 mg)
Those getting the combination of all 3 ingredients showed more weight loss than those taking the placebo. But, the amounts of the ingredients used in this study are far MORE than are contained in It Works Fat Fighter.
For more insights see these other reviews:
- Healthe Trim (for weight loss)
- Glucotor V2 (for diabetes)
Wheat Amylase Inhibitor
Amylase is an enzyme that helps us absorb carbs. So if you inhibit this enzyme, it might reduce our ability to absorb carbs. This ingredient just sounds to me like a carb/starch blocker derived from wheat. But, just calling it “wheat amylase inhibitor” is vague, because without knowing the exact name of the inhibitor compound, I can’t say much about it, other than it probably works similarly to phaseolamin, discussed above.
Vanadium
Another name for this compound is vanadyl sulfate. Vanadium appears to have an insulin-like effect and might reduce blood sugar.
Vanadium does seem to lower blood sugar in people with type II diabetes. Vanadium is listed last in the ingredients of the proprietary blend. This means it is likely to present in the least amount. This is good because vanadium might become toxic at high levels. The amount, beyond which side effects might be noticed, is currently thought to be 1.8 mg per day for adults.
For more on vanadium see these reviews:
Blood-Sugar Lowering Ingredients
Here are the ingredients in It Works Fat Fighter that might reduce blood sugar levels:
- Chromium
- Gymnema Sylvestre
- Vanadium
Ingredients That Block Carbs
Here are the ingredients in It Works Fat Fighter that are thought to be carb blockers:
- Garcinia cambogia
- Phaseolamin
- Gymnema Sylvestre (maybe)
- Wheat amylase inhibitor
Note. While I call them carb blockers, the It Works company calls them “carb inhibitors.” these phrases mean the same thing.
Ingredients That Block Fat
Here are the ingredients in It Works Fat Fighter that might block fat:
- NeOpuntia
So, there are more carb blockers in Fat Fighter than fat blockers. Based on this, a better name might be “It Works Carb Fighter.”
Ingredients with the Most Evidence
Based on the studies I could locate, here are the ingredients in It Works Fat Fighter that I feel have the most evidence and are likely the main active ingredients in this product:
I highlight this ingredient because:
1. There are more weight loss studies on this ingredient than any of the others in the product.
2. There aren't as many negative side effects for this as say garcinia Cambogia
It Works Fat Fighter Side Effects
Here are a few things to think about when taking It Works Fat Fighters. This list is not complete:
- Start with less than suggested for the first week to see how you respond
- Stop all supplements at least 2 weeks before surgery
- Pregnant and breastfeeding moms should speak to their doctor first
- If you take any medications, speak to your doctor and pharmacist
- Bitter melon might reduce blood sugar, which may be an issue for some people who take diabetes medications.
- Gymnema Sylvestre might lower blood sugar levels.
- Vanadium might lower blood sugar. At high doses, vanadium might also cause a color change on the tongue (a green color). The amount which might cause side effects is controversial, due to the lack of good research on vanadium.
In the comments below, some have said they developed headaches, fainting and one person mentioned seizures.
If you had any side effects—positive or negative—leave a comment below so others (including me) can benefit from your experiences.
Does The Fat Fighter Work?
It's hard to say at this time if the product helps people lose weight or blocks fat. No clinical studies on the supplement could be located. I admit I could be wrong and the supplement might do exactly what its name says it will do. But, for me, I'd like to see a few studies first to see if it really works.

I’ll be interested to see what you find out. I wonder if I’m the only one who feels this way after taking Thermofit.
Tom Waldeck says
I liked your post. I bought greens on the go berry flavored. I could not take a third sip from the bottle it tasted so bad.
I have 29 more packets of the stuff. Should I try to consume it or pitch it?
Joe says
Hi Tom, can you return them from where you got them?
Rebecca Nemitz-Walters says
The Thermofit makes me very tired. Within half an hour of taking one pill I feel like I have taken a sleeping pill. I’m not sure what is in it that would affect me that way.
Joe says
Rebecca, I’m going to try to review Thermolift in the near future.
heather fiehl says
You really should not be experiencing very tired after taking the thermofit! Hopefully you are taking the pills half hour before eating your heaviest meal. Please feel free to message me with further questions.
Gabrielle says
I actually take them and love it I wouldn’t say I’ve lost weight taking it, but I’ve kept weight off by taking it. I take the it works thermofit to loose weight.
Ken DeJesus says
Glad your satisfied with the product. Unlike pharmaceutical pills, natural products take a bit longer. People on this log say that they try it for 3 months then stop. Any natural product will time take. Most natural products are FDA approved because big pharma companies won’t make the billions they’re making if they were to be approved…
heather fiehl says
absolutely! They make so much money on us… I hope to put them out of business one day…Too many people on meds and drugs they really don’t need. I understand they do good but please do your research as well
Nancy says
The worst product I have ever tried. I had not been taking anything at all just exercise. I was also a distributor, I decided to try them before pushing them out to my clients.
the first couple of days were ok, a bit of an irritable tummy but didn’t think anything of it until I just could not stand the pain in my lower belly. it seemed each time I took it specifically as directed my stomach would bloat tremendously not to mention the uncomfortable pain.
I stopped taking them and called IT WORKS to tell them about my experience and to send the product back, to my disbelief they actually wanted a Dr.’s note stating that the Fat Fighters were the cause. WOW!!! was all I could say. For the amount I paid they can take the pills and shove them …..
Needless to say I would not recommend this product or any product from this company. Poor customer service and business practice. If you stand behind your product why not just satisfy your customer, one out of the thousands they have should not even make a dent in their business.
Leads me to believe something may be wrong with their product and they need documentation to figured out what is really happening. No one’s body is the same but for me this product is not it.
Tiffany Babers says
Hi Joe,
I took the fat fighters for 3 months and nothing happened I was very hopeful after hearing how great it supposedly had worked but I honestly believe it’s just a marketing strategy to get people to sign up. Do you have any recommendations for any supplements that can help for weight loss.
Joe says
Hi Tiffany, Here is a review of products that I feel have some weight loss evidence. This link goes to my personal website

Joe, I read some comments about the It Works fat fighter. Have you reviewed any supplements which aid weight loss that DO provide scientific research that they work? Thank you for this review!
Joe says
Hi Catherine, here is a link to my personal site where I cover wt loss supplements that have some level of evidence. I cover additional things too that can help: http://www.joe-cannon.com/what-weight-loss-supplements-work/
Glad you found this review helpful 🙂
Don says
Hi Joe;
I note there is a common theme throughout the conversations by the distributors, water and lots of it. Water is the contributing factor in all cases to aid in the flushing of toxins. Water is also healthier choice to all means of losing weight. I have tried the wraps, I have the pills, as they come with the kit, but I have never taken them. I use the wraps, mostly as a means to aid in the removal of stretch marks from a sleeve operation.
Because of my weight loss and continuing weight loss I am not sure if it is working, and will provide an update at the end of the three month cycle. Other than weight loss operations, which I don’t recommend, as it changes everything, there is only one way to lose weight for real, and that is expend more calories then you take in. burn a 1000, take in 800, etc etc. I am sorry for the negative comments you are receiving, but as you are aware your comments are unbiased, while those of the distributors are self serving.
I don’t blame the distributors, that is how they make their money. There is no simple solution to weight loss, it is a life style change, requiring a constant daily reminder of why you got the way you are.
Keep doing what your doing. Also, to avoid any confusion, I am not saying live on a consumption of 800 calories, just saying burn more calories then you take in, that’s how you lose weight.
Joe says
Don, thanks for sharing. yes water is a common theme when it comes to weight loss supplements. It fills us up and has no calories so I think that is another way it helps. I dont blame the distributors either – and that goes for those who sell other supplements too. Most of them truly believe in what they are saying and I’m sure they have met people who have lost weight. My hope is that I give them something to think about and more information to help their customers the best way I know they want to.
Eliza says
Simple:
If the products worked, then why would the CEO/founder protect himself through using MLM marketing (can hide behind the claims of distributors as opposed to himself)? Why wouldn’t It Works just enter the retail market or sell independently, allowing for a larger profit margin? Why do you see so many people pushing the business as opposed to the product?
Bottom line: when creating a downline and adding distributors makes a person more money than selling the actual product themselves, that is a pyramid scheme. And for a pyramid scheme to work, most people have to lose. This is a veiled pyramid scheme.
It is only this side of legal because actual product is moved through the chain. However, for the top earners to make money, people at the bottom have to be losing money. In fact, just to beak even, distributors would have to sell $1000 in product a month. So if you sell $10,000 in product (which is near impossible by yourself (aka without a downline), you would make $1000 a month.
Yet there are people claiming to make tens and even hundreds of thousands a month…proving they are making it off the backs of other distributors in their downline. Follow any downline to the bottom, and you will find hundreds of distributors losing money every month in order for the guys at the top to make more! Sounds exactly like the business hierarchy It Works claims to free their distributors from!
These people should be disgusted with how they prey on the uneducated and desperate. I welcome anyone who is able to show me a compensation plan for it works that shows how all distributors in a downline can be as profitable as It Works claims! It is not possible with It Works deep-level payout structure and incredibly low commission payouts (10% compared to the average 25-30%)
Karen says
I’m responding to “D”
“No business can survive if the product does not work”
I don’t think it’s that black and white.
We know that the weight loss supplement industry is an unregulated billion dollar business. We learned from the PBS frontline documentary that about 30% of products tested by consumer lab contain what their labels say they do. We learned that most have not been clinically tested for safety and efficacy and those that have, have been shown to “not work”. I’m quoting the PBS documentary
Advertising is powerful. And add to good advertising our desire for help in being skinny and beautiful. With that combination, I think it is possible for a company to do well and still have products that don’t “work”. Heck, now with social media I would think a salesperson wouldn’t even need repeat customers to do well.
I don’t think that because a weight loss supplement company makes a lot of money, it follows that the products necessarily work. If we made that assumption, we wouldn’t need Joe the supplement geek.
D says
I wondered upon this site looking for information about the company. I cant help but comment. Just my opinions and results.
I had started taking the Greens and fat burner (fat burner really not needed but what the hey!) about 2.5 months ago. A friend of many years posts her business on face book and periodically posts contests, pics and perks if the products are tried. One day I figured why not, her results looked good.
I do have to say I do like the greens (as stated, not sure what the fat burners are doing quite yet…have to get back to you on that). I can say i feel more energized taking the greens – I know that the amount of water I now consume on a regular basis is not doing that alone. I do sleep better (no, its not the wine)
I will comment on peoples complaint about bloating – as my friend told me, ‘DRINK LOTS OF WATER!’ Well, that is key – if you don’t flush out toxins what do you think happens to your tummy? NOT GOOD, been there done that.
So, with the beginning of a new year, I thought lets do this again – the right way. I have not read anywhere that the results are immediate, if people believe that then Joe, you are correct in stating its up to the consumer to READ. I have come across some reviews that indicate results are truly amazing – every persons body is different. Their results appear to be amazing and some not so much. Some appear to happen in just a few hours some in several weeks. I have not tried the wraps, but do believe I may just out of shear curiosity – get back to you on that as well.
My opinion on weight loss: no, I am not overweight however, eat healthy (most of the time) and know there is no product out there that will turn you into a super model overnight or within a week while wrapped in anything eating junk daily (mega carbs, sugar loaded, etc).
I will agree, some reps seem to push the hype and its crazy that anyone believes it. One rep even indicates she does not exercise. (sorry, that’s not a good promo plug for a weight loss/detox type company). I do have a very good friend who tried these products and does not like them – specifically the fat burner and wraps. I love her to death, but do you know why she does not like them? Stated they do not work, she did not see any results and did not loose weight.
I realize the possibility of not seeing results on the wrap as they are a detox not a ‘skinny-fying’ product. However, I am not sure what results are expected if you continue to feed your body garbage, eat out once a week and continue the daily massive sugar intake.
Not to be rude – my apologies upfront but most of the pictures and posts I have reviewed on other sites are from overweight individuals. (Hey i was about 80 pounds overweight a few years back – not knocking anyone who is overweight). The point is you have to work at it – I believe the reason anyone would try this product is to change their lifestyle and eating habits.
My opinion on the business: not sure yet as I stated above, doing MY research on the company and reviewing my personal results. No business can survive if the product does not work. I am in a family of many MLM entrepreneurs – several of them successful. Again, its all about the product. With that said, it takes money to make money – initial investment whether it be big or small, the product must work first.
For the comments on this being a Pyramid scheme – well this is your typical MLM not a pyramid. Pyramid schemes are now illegal. Is it the typical ‘Hey, I want to talk to you about a great product and a new business’? YES it is and depending on how well you know your product, results achieved, you could very well be successful.
If you go at it with minimal knowledge and the only goal is to sign people up, its no wonder many people fail. Sorry but its true. For the record, I am not in a MLM company and have only done a few in my life – not so much the sales person. I will say, all took hard work and yes, I did make money but not enough to sustain my lifestyle at that time.
Sorry, but I don’t see any millionaires in this business but again – how many people do you know and did you try to sell the product as a supplement to a healthier lifestyle??
Bottom line, no self employed business/start up business is going to bring in millions overnight. (for most us). As both a corporate worker and business owner, if you do not have a few months reserve when starting this or any business and do not believe in your ability failure is inevitable.
Summary: So far, I like the products I am taking and I DO notice a difference with energy level and I don’t crave sugary treats. These results did not come overnight, energy was the most immediate. Not sure about the fat burners.
My goal for the new year was to get back into a healthier lifestyle which is going to take more than just a few pills, a drink (which is not horrible by the way) and wrapping myself in saran wrap! I honestly do not think there is ANY PRODUCT that will make us supermodels overnight but I do believe there are a few good ones out there that will ASSIST in making better choices.
Hope this helps…
Thanks!

D, thank you for sharing your insights and opinions -and congrats on losing 80 pounds a few years ago too!

Has anyone actually tested the products in a lab to see what the actual components are? Curious as I have recently viewed the documentary on PBS about supplements, their lack of regulation and the fact that only about 30% actually contain what they state they have on their ingredient list.
I personally would never choose this route for a “healthy” lifestyle.
Joe says
Nadine, not to my knowledge. Consumerlab.com does test supplements but they dont look at them all. I dont think they have looked at this one. I saw the PBS Frontline supplement documentary too. It was interesting.

I don’t really know to much about ITWORKS and the products they offer, but I can tell you all one thing my co-worker supports this product especially the Fat Fighter Pills and was recently diagnosed with diabetes.
She’s only 30 years old and she would tell me that she would eat like crazy and take up to 4 Fat Fighter pills a day.. This is not good and seeing my co-worker who is constantly ill now because of this product is sicking to me!! Don’t support this product people.
They’re just a bunch of jerk offs trying to get a run for your money, just like everyone else in this world!!! There’s only two ways to lose weight and that’s Exercise and Eating Healthy..That’s IT!!

Have you tried it?

ah these it works people are out in force. get a real job please. you are contributing nothing to society except annoying all of your friends on facebook EVERY DAMN DAY WITH YOUR ANNOYING POSTS THAT ARE THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN!

These comments are the best things I have read in a long time. I see this garbage in my Facebook news feed and have noticed that the distributors are more concerned with posting their “why” than the “how”
my take on that, I am *so* glad these people want to earn money! that’s great for them, but like Joe, I had to google the pills, to me, I *DO* care *HOW* it works, unlike the one distributor said, “no one cares” I am not about to take something that I dont know whats in it just so you can build a new house or pay off your car payment!
I would never take these or any other pill, its not my thing, but the pushing of income for single moms, start your own business blah blah blah is clear the masterminds behind his company don’t care about the product itself, but about the income, which is why they release a new time of product all the time (currently its essential oils – which by the way It Works oils aren’t even safe for consumption, so I dont think I want to defuse those toxins in my home, but thanks)
Great article Joe, but even better responses to the comments, I love that you can keep a serious face while responding.
I’ll keep my money for a gym membership and healthy food.
Joe says
Andrea, you are very welcome, thanks for sharing. Please share my review on your facebook page so the distributors and can see. BTW, I like your website. Love your dog 🙂

It Works NEVER promoted the wraps to me as a weight lose product. However, after I had lost 28 pounds, I had excess skin flab. That is where the wraps worked so amazingly. They are to firm and tone!

I’m not sure how you can do a review on a product you’ve NEVER tried. This appears to be what supplement geek is doing. However, I am 53 and tried the wraps and now fat fighters. I have lost nearly 28 lbs and most of it started with just wrapping (even tho “It Works” does NOT promote the wraps as a weight lose product).
I’m very skeptical because of trying so many things over the years but to only gain more weight! I AM NOT a distributor or have any connection with this company other than using their products and they DO WORK!

Teresa, the internet is full of people who try stuff and gave their opinions. While that is nice, the problem is that we dont know those people. how do we know they are telling the truth all the time? That’s why I try to stick to the research, and show it to you so that you, can make a more informed decision. Either way, I’m happy it is working for you and wish you much success in the coming new year.

My “friend” told me he was going to sell me one defining gel because he needed a new customer before midnight to get some huge bonus. No. He bought $100 worth of stuff with my $$ & now I’m signed up to get more stuff and if I cancel he’ll be in trouble & I’ll be charged $50. I used to really like this guy. I unfollowed him awhile ago on Facebook because of his annoying it works posts & now I despise him. Thanks, it works!
Joe says
Lindsey, have you tried to reach out to the It Works company? If what you say is true, I don’t believe the company would want him as a distributor.
Karen says
Thank you Dr. Sukala for your review. The company website may not make any claims about fat/weight loss; I don’t know, I haven’t looked at it. But I do know that it’s all over social media from individual distributors that their products DO cause fat/weight loss and I’ve even seen a distributor claim that the results of the wraps are permanent. I do agree that consumers should act smarter but it also makes me sad that a lot of money is being made from dishonesty.
