Updated December 19 2023. Have you seen the Herpes Cure Report TV commercial? If not, let me quote from the commercial to give you an idea of what it says: “Attention herpes sufferers. There is now a cure for herpes. Genital herpes, shingles and cold sores can now be cured once and for all. Never suffer from herpes outbreaks ever again. This medical breakthrough discovery is now being introduced to America for the very first time. The cure for herpes is real and will work for you. These are VERY POWERFUL WORDS!
The very last sentence of the commercial is what got my spider sense tingling the most. It goes like this: “This is the herpes cure the drug companies don’t want you to know about”.
You see, I’ve heard this slogan before – and so have many of you. Let me now give you my take on the Herpes Cure Report and after that, tell you a little about the man behind the TV commercial.
Is the Herpes Cure Report Real?
When I first saw the TV commercial, I knew instantly that they were not referring directly to a supplement. This is because in America, it is illegal to say that a dietary supplement cures anything – yet I heard the word “cure” 6 times during the 41-second commercial.
If you watch the TV commercial for the Herpes Cure Report, which can be viewed on YouTube, you see that they are talking about a report, which I imagine discusses various dietary supplements etc. that are 
alleged to cure herpes.
Because in America, we have freedom of speech (thank goodness!), we can say anything almost in print. So while you can’t say specifically that ‘supplement x cures herpes”, you can write a “free report” that says “supplement x cures herpes”.
I called the phone number given in the Herpes Cure Report commercial to see what it was about. I was told that the report was free If I joined a website called NaturalCures.com, which was about $9.95 per month.
Update 2023. The website still exists and charges a $57 annual subscription or $99 for lifetime access. It is not known if it is still associated with Mr. Trudeau.
The video that I watched on the Natural Cures website says you can also submit questions that you have about health issues and that you would be replied to by a ”licensed medical professional.” Take note that they don’t say a physican will reply – rather only that a “trained medical professional” would reply to you.
Mr Trudeau has also been an advocate of the HCG diet in his book the “Weight Loss Cure They Don’t Want You To Know About.” If you have not heard of this diet, read the HCG Diet Review and the review on homeopathic HCG supplements.
What is The Herpes Cure?
Honestly, I don’t know what herpes cure Kevin Trudeau is referring to in his report. I didn’t join his site to get the free report. I searched online for the report but was not able to find it.
What I can tell you is that Kevin Trudeau’s books seem to suggest conspiracies. For example, here are the books that I remember seeing lately:
- Natural Cures They Don’t Want you to Know About
- The Weight Loss Cure They Don’t Want You to Know About
- Nature Cures Revealed
- Debt Cures They Don’t Want You to Know About
This is why the pretty blond lady in the Herpes Cure Report even says “it’s the herpes cure the drug companies don’t want you to know about”.
Most of us like a good conspiracy (I believe in UFOs!), but is it possible that a herpes cure really does exist – but is being kept quiet by the drug companies?
While I do feel there is some truth in the words of comedian Chris Rock who once said “the money’s in the medicine” (not the cure), it’s hard for me to believe that there is a global conspiracy to keep a cure like this quiet.
Drug companies would have to pay off pretty much all of their employees – for life! And we have to assume that there are no honest people who would not take the payoff.
I haven’t read the Herpes Cure Report, but I’m guessing it goes something like this:
It’s a multi-part approach that includes:
- Stress reduction techniques –medication, prayer, etc.
- Behavior modification – safe sex
- Various herbs and vitamins like lysine to reduce herpes flair-ups
I could be completely wrong about this. Again, if anyone knows what the Herpes Cure Report says, please let me know.
Who is Kevin Trudeau?
I first heard of Kevin Trudeau about 10 years ago when he was selling a supplement called Coral Calcium Supreme on an infomercial. It was said that Coral Calcium Supreme could cure cancer and other ailments and even extend the lifespan. None of this had any basis in fact as far as I knew. Wikipedia has a detailed review of Kevin Trudeau if you want more info on him.
As far as I know, Mr. Trudeau is the only person in US history to have been banned from selling supplements on TV infomercials. But he can still write books about natural cures.
Like him or not, Mr. Trudeau is a genius salesman and marketer. But whether or not he knows about a natural cure for herpes is another story altogether.
Update. On March 18 2014, it was reported by CNN and elsewhere that Kevin Trudeau was sentenced to prison after it was found he violated a 2004 court order prohibiting him from making misleading statements related to dietary supplements and his weight loss books.
Update: In 2022, Mr. Trudeau was released from prison after serving eight years of his ten-year sentence.
Is There a Natural Cure for Herpes?
While I do not see any evidence that a “cure” exists, I did some research and found that there have been some studies showing that the following natural products might help ease genital herpes flair-ups. I provided links to the clinical studies to help others doing their own research:

Curious about this synergy pharmaceuticals. Cure4herpes… I notice it’s all supplements, have you researched them? 6 month supply is a little over 200, plus shipping which is high. Any thoughts??
Hi Lisa, I looked at website. The guy in the video sure uses the word “cure” a lot although on the FAQ page they say they cannot guarantee it will work. I’m not sure what to make of it. I did not see any clinical testing on the product. I do see it has lysine which may help reduce outbreaks. It looks like there are 5 different products to be taken in conjunction with each other. Most of this stuff you can get at a health food store, maybe fore less money. One of those products, they call “Unique Amino Formula” and I cant see what that product consists of (does anybody know?). I wonder if you could just buy that and then get the rest of the stuff at a local health food store, to save money?
One thing Id say is that they call themselves Synergy Pharmaceuticals but they dont list an address and I cant find their website (other than the cure site you referenced). There is a synergy pharmaceuticals in NYC (synergypharma.com) but I do not think these are the same companies.
I’m not sure if it works or not. Has anyone tried it or have thoughts on this product?
I do have the Natural Cures book, and I purchased a second one AFTER Kevin was sentenced simply because He did get rid of my cold sores. Now I can’t say anything about Genital Herpes but oral HSV1… Gone. Part of me believes Kevin was silenced because he was right about 1 thing, drug companies don’t want to cure you.
After understanding this basic fact, I let my cold Sores go without treating them, let them swell and pop on their own and left them alone (as his book instructed). It turns out he was right, the medications were causing the sores to come back. They went away kind of like a nuclear half life. I was getting them all the time. I stopped treating them and each time I’d get one it would take twice as long to develop.
I haven’t had a cold sore in 4 years, since 2013. I disagree with quite a few things from the book, the cure for cancer isn’t listed, Max Gearson discovered the cure around the same time he discovered the cure for TB which is similar treatment. Due to the fact the treatment requires things anyone can get at their grocery store, it was banned from the United States citing their is no medical evidence (you can’t patent coffee and Hippocrates stew) do your research if you have Cancer and I am confident you will be seeking passage across the border of Mexico or Canada to your closest Gearson treatment center.
They cure terminally I’ll patients since it’s not cancer that kills you but your liver failing. To answer your question the cure is quite simple, stop treating your cold sores and don’t put ANYTHING on them and they will go away, just like Acne. I’m living proof of Kevin not being completely full of it. Hope this helps.

Hi Raghda, while there is no cure for herpes, I believe that keep your immune system strong is one of the best ways to help keep it under control. I know it will be hard, but if you can quit smoking, this will help. Quitting smoking will also help reduce your risk of heart disease too. I know herpes can be a stressful situation but too much stress can make it worse. Exercise is good for the immune system -and it helps reduce stress too – but I would be careful with fat burner supplements. While I have no proof, because many are stimulants, I wonder if they might make stressful situations seem worse? Check your supplements and see if any contain the amino acid “arginine.” Don’t use supplements that contain arginine until we know more about it. There is some speculation that it may make herpes worse.
Other than that I advise you to keep seeing your doctor regularly. I will say a prayer that you continue to get the medical help and guidance you need.
I am actually a pharmacy tech and I agree 100%, the drug companies may or may not have cures for different diseases / viruses, but they aren’t going to share them because they are literally making millions a day. If people actually knew the cost of some medications they would be blown away by how cheap they are, but are sold for a huge mark up.
I am currently battling my third bout with shingles. The first 2 outbreaks I had no medical insurance( I was not employed as a pharmacy tech ) at that time I was prescribed a steriod( medrol dose pack) valtrex ( anti viral medication ) and hard core pain medication ( that only made me feel crappy ). The drugs for treatment, were pretty expensive.
I have been trying to get the shingles vaccine since the second outbreak 2 years, the vaccine is VERY expensive and only 80% effective. Now being employed by a pharmacy, they covered the vaccine 100% (I received the vaccine 2 weeks ago ), however within 24 hours I had a huge welp at injection site, red streaks running up & down my arm from injection site, and it was super tender for several days.
I also had a horrible itchy, painful splothcy rash ,that didn’t blister appear on my back. Then yesterday I noticed blisters under my eye, extending to the side of my nose. Very painful, throbbing, burning, and tingling, all around my eye.
I saw my Dr. today, the same Dr that diagnosed my fist 2 outbreaks. She tells me the reaction on my arm at injection site was from the vaccine, so was the itcy, red splotches on my back.
Shingles is the most horrific pain, no person should have to endure. Sorry to say this but people please don’t waste your time or hard earned money on these gimmicks, if there is a cure, Big Pharma has it locked away in a vault somewhere. Medications are a guaranteed cash cow, big corporations are not going to share with us little folks.
Chalana, thank you for sharing and I am so sorry to hear about your battles with shingles. I remember when my grandmother had them – at 101 years of age! She was in a lot of pain too. I’m sure you know this already but the best defense for shingles is to keep your immune system strong and the best way I know of is to exercise regularly (not crazy exercise, even walking can help), eating more fruits and vegetables and try to deal better with life stress (that can be the hardest part I know).

What is the cure? If only one person on this planet was ever cured, wouldn’t they tell someone? You know how that goes! Tell only one person and that person tells someone else and so on and so on. If there was a cure, we would hear about it!
The only thing that seems plausible is to take care of your health, eat properly, keep an alkaline body, take some supplements, drink lots of water, use tea tree oil on sores? Apparently, with age, outbreaks are fewer? So frustrating!
With the science and technology, and the social networks that are available to spread the word, you would think that a cure for herpes would be easy?

Does anyone actually have before and after results of the results actually saying it self that they now test negative? I just received herpes from my babys mom since I work all day I was unaware of cheating. We no longer talk and I’m just seriously worried and scared… I don’t want this for life. It’s painfully, scary and much much worse. Any actual facts? I need hope..
Oh Erik, I am SO sorry to hear what you are going through – both physically and with emotionally. I can only imagine the thoughts that are running through your head now. Please speak to your doctor about herpes and what you can do about it. I think your doctor is the best person to talk to you about treatments. There ARE treatments. Herpes can be managed and as I understand it, it doesn’t have to impact your life very much. You can live with it and work around it. Herpes is NOT HIV or AIDS so take comfort in that.
I wish I could offer some advise on your personal issues at home but I am at a loss there. I do hope you have friends and family who you can go to. There are also Herpes support groups where you can get help, guidance and advice. Meetup.org likely has support groups in your area.
What I can do is say a prayer for you tonight that you get the information and help and comfort you need to deal with this.

link to what the “cure” supposedly is. It requires soaking in 2 quarts of 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide and water. the stuff used at home for cuts is 3%. Anybody with herpes of any type knows it is very painful. Now imagine what it feels like to poor 3% hydrogen peroxide on a cut, scrape, or open sore. Then think about 35% food grade ( that can cause death if ingested) and soaking in it with open blisters on your sensitive genital area. Taking supplements and other things are also part of the “cure.” Sounds a bit fictitious….not to mention painful.

I can tell you straight out I tried this in conjunction with valtrex and after about 4 outbreaks of fever blisters they have gone and never come back……not only did I ingest the algie but i broke the capsules open and mixed with blistex and applied to my lips……..this worked for me, i haven’t a fever blister in 6 years……I used to have outbreaks almost every 2 months

I read some information about BHT being a “cure” for herpes. Apparently BHT rips the fat coat off of the virus so that the immune system can nail it. BHT is sold as a fat preservative so the FDA has not banned it–it cannot be sold as a “supplement.” I read one anecdotal report of a man who took it for daily for a few to several years. He first quit having outbreaks and then later tested negative for herpes antibodies. BHT is cheap–could be worth a shot.

Guys I know that a lot of this is hard to swallow. Kevin Trudeau really does research all of what he says. Every time he goes to the airports he is searched, he is always under the gun. Yes he has been made out to be a crazy person or sly sales person. No doubt the guy has money and likes more.
But my uncle is a brilliant MD. I said Medical Doctor no bs, he has lectured on the same tour as Kevin and said the guy is brilliant he doesn’t just talk the talk he walks the walk. Has no one payed attention to the fact he is fifty and looks like hes thirty his wife included. They do what they say. Guy, there is some truth in what you say. I would just like to see some proof from people who “had herpes” and were “cured” because they did what the herpes cure report said to do. Im not aware of anyone who’s been cured of herpes because of the herpes cure report.
there should be a group of volunteers that use the “cure.” that way it can be proven to be a hoax. I personally have never had herpes but Ive know two people that have. Both were in relationships and got it from cheating partners. They have both tried stuff similar to this but didn’t even try to get their money back because they were ashamed of having herpes. That is exactly who they target.
The moment I heard the ad, I knew it was bogus. The tip-off? The line “Genital herpes, shingles and cold sores can now be cured once and for all.” They are three different viruses. Genital herpes and cold sores are two different herpes viruses. Shingles is caused by the varicella (chicken pox) virus. These viruses stay in the body for life. You can keep them dormant, but, they never leave. That’s just the nature of the beast.

Herpes Cure Report Fact or Fiction? It’s Fiction. Having HSV2 for over 20 years I’ve seen many “cures” come and go. I’ve also flipped to the page of Kevin Trudeau’s book on the “cure” for herpes and it’s nothing more than accumulated knowledge you can find on most free websites.
There is NO Known Cure, and even some fungi and bacteria have been infected in the lab. After over 20 years of having it these are the basics:
Acidic System/Heartburn=Outbreak (this is probably the #1 cause of an outbreak)
Stress=Outbreak
Physical Stress/Over Exertion=Outbreak
Constipation/Backup Of Toxins In The Body=Outbreak
Alcohol, Soda and anything that causes an Acidy/Heartburn System can cause an outbreak because viruses thrive in that environment.
Smoking can cause and extend the length of time of an outbreak (usually by an extra week is what I’ve found, I don’t smoke anymore)
Sticking to a mostly greens/veggie diet is really the Only Half Cure, this is because viruses can’t live in an alkaline environment, which keeps herpes at bay.
I also drink a glass of water in the morning and evening with a half a teaspoon of slippery elm bark which helps heal the stomach and intestinal lining from an over acidic system. There’s a lot more info out there, but if there is a True cure it’s probably locked in a drug companies vault. Herpes is a billion dollar business.

I remember Kevin Trudeau sometime back when he was interviewing someone for something and I don’t remember what it was. This was back when infomercials had just started.
I also remember that about 6-10 years ago one of the magazine shows (I think it was 60 minutes) were disclaiming how Kevin Trudeau is a fraud. They even tried to interview him and he would not talk. He slammed the door in the reporters face. I think the reporter was Mike Wallace if I remember correctly.
I think this guy is a scum bag. When I first saw the infomercial about the herpes cure, I thought it was about all of the oxygen we are supposed to take in. I tried the oxygen thing and it does not work. I know that if this commercial about a herpes cure came from Kevin Trudeau, it too will not work. After seeing the 60 minutes show about him, I don’t trust the scum bag at all.

Cindy, I’m glad I was able to shed some light on things. I’m guessing you probably saw Kevin doing an interview for Coral Calcium several years ago. That’s when he first showed up on my radar. The guy he was “interviewing” was named Bob Bearfoot (Robert bearfoot) who still markets coral calcium his own website.
