Update 7/11/20. I had not heard of the supplement called Cholesterol 360 until it came up during a conversation of one of my other reviews – Bergamot. I looked at the ingredients and felt this supplement deserved a review. So in this Cholesterol 360 review, I'll cover the research on the ingredients to help you better decide if it's right for you. I also uncovered something some might find surprising about the company which makes the supplement too.
1 What Does The Name Mean
Because a circle has 360 degrees, by calling it Cholesterol360, I think this is a subtle way of letting us know this supplement is supposed to encircle us and provide total protection from getting high blood cholesterol levels.
While we are on the topic of heart disease, have you looked at your earlobes?
2 Cholesterol 360 Research
I saw no clinical studies on Cholesterol360 – itself -when I visited the company website. Likewise, no research on the supplement -itself – could be found on clinical research websites. But, there is research on the ingredients in this supplement.
Let's now look at the ingredients in Cholesterol360 and the research on those ingredients.
3 Cholesterol360 Ingredients
Each veggie capsule contains the following ingredients
Ingredient | Amount | Percent Daily Value |
Vitamin C | 50 mg | 83 % DV |
Citrus Bergamia | 500 mg | N/A |
Green Tea Extract (leaves) | 25 mg | N/A |
Grape Seed Extract | 25 mg | N/A |
In the table above “%DV” = percent daily value and “N/A” = no daily value has been established.
4 Other Ingredients
These other ingredients are also listed:
- Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose
- Microcrystalline cellulose
- Silicon dioxide
- Vegetable Magnesium stearate
These other ingredients make up the veggie capsules and help the 4 key ingredients work well together. They play no role in the cholesterol-lowering benefits of the supplement.
Now, let's look at the research on these ingredients.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C does many in the body. While this may not be the first thing to come to your mind when you consider how to lower your cholesterol, studies suggest vitamin C (ascorbic acid) can reduce both LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglycerides. Vitamin C also helps blood vessels work better too. As such, it makes sense it would be in a supplement like this.
While studies tend to use 500 mg of vitamin C to achieve these results, lower levels should have benefits too. Each capsule of Cholesterol360 provides 50mg of vitamin C. This is 83% of the amount we should be getting per day. As such, remember to also eat vitamin C-rich foods too.
Citrus Bergamia
Other names for this include bergamot,ย citrus bergamot, and Citrus bergamia Risso.ย I believe bergamot is the key active ingredient in Cholesterol 360. I believe the company which makes Cholesterol360 (called Stop Aging Now) thinks so too because their website links to a bergamot study. They don't do this for the other ingredients in the product.
Several human studies have documented bergamot's ability to:
- Lower total cholesterol
- Lower LDL (bad) cholesterol
- Lower triglycerides
- vasodilate (relax/open up) blood vessels
Bergamot seems to also raise HDL (good) cholesterol and in some people, it may reduce blood sugar levels too. At least one study has also noted it may help people reduce their statin medications. Bergamot not a replacement for statin drugs, however.
Bergamot Video Review
Here's a video on the bergamot cholesterol research:
In one investigation, researchers in Italy gave 77 people with cholesterol problems, 1000 mg of bergamot for a month. After 30 days these were the results seen:
- Average cholesterol dropped from 278-191
- Average LDL cholesterol dropped from 191-113
- Average triglycerides dropped from 238 to 165
- Average HDL levels increased from 38-45
Several other studies have shown similar results. Researchers generally use about 1000 mg per day taken before meals to achieve results.
One of the ways bergamot works is by inhibiting an enzyme that makes cholesterol (called HMG-CoA reductase). By knocking out this enzyme, it prevents the body from making cholesterol. This is also how cholesterol-lowering statin drugs work too.
But, bergamot does not seem to be associated with the muscle pain people who take statin drugs sometimes report. Bergamot probably works in other ways, in addition, knocking out this enzyme.
Cholesterol360 contains a trademarked version of bergamot called Bergamonte, a product by a company called HP Ingredients (HPIngredients.com). Bergamonte is standardized to contain 30% flavones (a type of plant chemical called a flavonoid).
In case it matters to you, the flavones in the Cholesterol360 are composed of neoeriocitrin, naringin and neohesperidin, melitidine and bruteridine.
As an aside, it's worth pointing out that each capsule of Cholesterol 360 contains 500 mg of bergamot. This is less than many studies have used (1000-1500 mg). Might this be why some online testimonials (such as Amazon) noted it did not work for them? Several others I saw though said it did work. Like all supplements, results may vary.
See the Bergamot for cholesterol review
Green Tea Extract
Green tea is rich in a variety of antioxidant compounds. The extract in Cholesterol360 comes from the leaves of the plant and contains 20% polyphenols, a type of plant chemical found in fruits and vegetables. Researchers in the US and Korea have noted polyphenols from green tea block absorption of cholesterol.
It's likely green tea works in many other ways too.
Green tea is so full of healthy nutrients, I actually open green teabags and add it to my breakfast smoothies. I do this instead of drinking tea so I can get ALL the nutrients.
Studies suggest compounds in green tea, called catechins, can reduce both total cholesterol andย LDL (bad) cholesterol.ย Green tea also seems to reduce blood pressure.
For more about tea, see these reviews:
For more on how to lower LDL naturally see this video
Grape Seed Extract
Grapes and grape seed extract have long been regarded as healthy. Reputation aside, I think the evidence for the extracts is mixed. Some investigations show green tea extract works while other studies show it doesn‘t.
On the plus side, researchers in the US, conducting a review of previous research noted grape seed extract could reduce blood pressure and heart rate. I prefer eating grapes (especially frozen grapes) to using extracts of them.
5 Who Makes Cholesterol 360?
The company is called Stop Aging Now LLC. The website is StopAgingNow.com. The company address is 7250 Woodmont Ave Bethesda, MD 20814-2960.ย They can be reached at 800- 627-9721.
Digging a little deeper reveals Stop Aging Now appears to be related to another company called NutraNext (NutraNext.net, formally WellNexthealth.com). NutraNext is a maker of dietary supplements. They make supplement brands such as Rainbow Light and Natural Vitality.
The company has a long track record, having been in business since 1996.
Despite the company name, there is no proof their supplements “stop aging now.” For more on anti-aging supplements see these reviews:
6 The Clorox Connection
In March of 2018, the Clorox Company purchased NutraNext for 700 million dollars. So Stop Aging Now supplements are sub-companies of Clorox corporation. While many know Clorox from its cleaning products (like Clorox bleach), the company has been diversified for many years. Clorox is also the company behind Brita water filters and Hidden Valley salad dressings.
7 BBB Ratings
The Better Business Bureau gave Stop Aging Now LLC a rating ofย “A+” with 3.4 out of 5 stars when this review was updated.ย The company has a few complaints listed (who doesn't?) but they respond to people quickly. It's good to see a company do this. See the BBB file for updates and more information.
8 Contact Stop Aging Now
Here are the phone numbers to the company:
- Customer Care: 800- 627-9721
- Corporate office: 240-479-2500
9 Cholesterol 360 Guarantee
All supplements come with a 365-day money-back guarantee when purchased from the company website.ย This guarantee is for both opened and unopened bottles. That is pretty good.
10 Return Cholesterol 360
To return Stop Aging Now supplements, mail bottles to:
Stop Aging Now
ATTN: Returns Department
1353 Baker Ct, Suite 125
Lexington, KY 40511
Before you do this, call the company first at 800- 627-9721. This way they can give you instructions to make the process easier. For example, the company strongly recommends you add tracking to the supplements you return. Refunds cannot be issued if they did not receive the items.
You must return bottles to get a refund. If you do not return a bottle, then the refund is only 50% of what you paid. It may take 4-6 weeks to see the money refunded to your credit card.
11 Buy Cholesterol 360
This supplement can be purchased at the company website (StopAgingNow.com) and at various online retailers. It is not available at local stores like Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Target, Costco, Sam's Club, GNC, Vitamin Shoppe or Vitamin World.
12 Cholesterol 360 Price
When purchasing Cholesterol 360 from the company website the cost is:
- 1 bottle: $29.95
- 3 bottles: $80.85 (26.95/ bottle)
- 6 bottles: $149.70 ($24.95/ bottle)
13 Cholesterol 360 vs. Bergamot
Bergamot is an ingredient in Cholesterol360. So, how does Cholesterol360 compare to bergamot? This is a good question since bergamot has cholesterol-lowering research.ย Alas, no studies pitting these supplements to each other can be located.ย Similarly, studies comparing Cholesterol 360 to other supplements such as BergaMet can be located.
14. What About Cholesterol 360 Ultra?
The ultra version of the supplement is essentially the same thing except that it also contains
-
- 20 mg Policosanol
- 10 mg Pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ)
Policosanol is sometimes used to boost HDL levels. The ingredient called PQQ is related to resveratrol. It's sometimes promoted for mitochondrial health and reducing oxidative stress but the evidence is preliminary.
15 Cholesterol 360 Side Effects
Based on the ingredients, Cholesterol360 is expected to be safe in the majorly of healthy people. Because we are all different, here are some things to consider if you take Cholesterol 360. This list is not complete:
- Start with less than recommended for the first week
- Stop taking at least 2 weeks before surgery
- Don't take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Speak to your pharmacist and doctor if you take any medications like blood thinners, or medicine for diabetes, high cholesterol, blood pressure, heart disease, and other health problems. See the bergamot review for why.
- In theory, the ingredients in Cholesterol360 may interact with other supplements you take, such as supplements for cholesterol, blood sugar, or blood pressure. When in doubt, speak to your qualified healthcare provider.
16 Does Cholesterol 360 Work
The ingredients in Cholesterol 360 make sense. Of the 4 ingredients in the supplement, I believe citrus bergamot is the key active ingredient. Several studies have found bergamot can reduce total cholesterol, LDL, and triglycerides after only 30 days of use. Judging from the testimonials I saw, Cholesterol 360 does seem to work for many people. If you try the supplement you should know if it's working after about 30 days.

Joe Cannon says
Hi Mohammed, not yet but I will add it to my list and try to review it soon. Have you tried it yet?
Bettiann Lloyd says
Joe my question is with any of these supplements like Bergamot etc, is this something you have to stay on the rest of your life to KEEP these results??? Or is there maybe a maintenance amount that is lower you can take?..
Joe Cannon says
Bettiann, In general I’d say yes. If the supplement(cholesterol 360, bergamot, etc) is lowering your cholesterol, then you’d have to take it forever. One exception to this would be, your cholesterol levels are high because of diet or something like that. For example, in the person whose cholesterol is high because of a not-so-great lifestyle, then correcting that (eating better, exercise, weight loss) might correct the cholesterol imbalance. This may mean the supplement would not be needed anymore.
Im not aware of any maintenance dose once your levels normalized. But, that’s more to do with the lack of research in this area. If you try a supplement it may take some experimenting to see if that works for you. If your speaking specifically about Cholesterol 360, remember, the key ingredient I highlighted, costs much less.
If you have any other questions, just ask.
Mohammed W Sulaiman says
Good Morning Joe,
What a blessing to receive communication from you. My last one was in March 2020. I thought that I was removed from your list.
I am an ardent subscriber and respect and appreciate your publications. I will anxiously expect your reviews. My cholesterol and glucose levels were about 10% elevated relative to what was within acceptable range in March 2020 (bad diet). I used 1000 mg Jarrow Citrus Bergamot per day. after a month, cholesterol and glucose were in range. I have been using it everyday as a supplement and I am very happy.
Any update on Cramp Defense It is a magnesium malate complex (Truemag) used for preventing leg/foot cramps/numbness/pins and needles. Thanks for your response. Mohammed Sulaiman

Hi Mohammed, so glad to hear the citrus bergammot has been working well for you! You are subscribed to this page of my site and get updates when people leave comments. Not everybody does so that may be why you have not heard anything in so long. If it helps, I do have a health and fitness email newsletter you can get on at either on this site or on the right hand column of my personal site Joe-Cannon.com Then you’ll get updates on all the articles I write, podcasts I produce etc.
Let me look into Cramp Defense. Have you tried it and has it helped?
Mohammed W Sulaiman says
Hi Joe,
Thanks for your timely response. Yes, I will subscribe to your website. I have not tried Cramp Defense. to be honest, I had requested from you in Feb/March for info on the product. I was skeptical to purchase without much/any information.
Be safe and have a blessed one

Mohammed, sounds good. Thanks for the reminder about the supplement. ๐
Robin McLane says
Hi – Great info!!
What about the other ingredients in the supplement? Is this a supplement you would take?
Vegetable cellulose, vegetable magnesium stetrate, micro crystalline cellulose and silica.
Thank you
Joe Cannon says
Hi Robin, Thanks so much! The other ingredients you listed – vegetable cellulose etc – don’t have any effects on how well Cholesterol 360 works. The key ingredient in the supplement is called citrus bergamot. That is what I would use if I had high cholesterol
Here is Citrus Bergamot on Amazon
Here is my review of Citrus Bergamot too
Im sure you know the effects of any supplement are best when combined with weight loss and some exercise.
Another supplement that can help too is called berberine. Here is my berberine review
I hope this helps. Let me know how the supplements work for you and/or you have any other questions ๐

I could not find anything about this…..
Thoughts?
Thank you!
Joe Cannon says
Hi Robin, It sounds like that maybe what happened to a single person. I’ve not seen anything where citrus bergamot supplements were bad for people with high blood pressure. There is a review of other studies that mentions the topical application of citrus bergamot essential oil to the skin reduced systolic and diastolic blood pressure. That same review also mentions a small study of Bergamot supplements which showed no change in blood pressure. Here is the review article:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6392855/
Supplement /drug interactions are possible and I would like to see more research on this. This is one of the reasons its wise to start new supplements with the least possible for the first week to see if you personally have any side effects.
Robin McLane says
Thank you Joe. I also asked my daughter who is a pharmacist and she agrees with you!! Stay turned – more later on “positive results”!
Joe Cannon says
Robin, glad you spoke to your daughter/pharmasist ๐ Looking forward to hearing what happens ๐
Mohammed W Sulaiman says
Dear Joe,
Congrats on your work. Please continue.
Can I use the bergamot essential oil extract (1000mg) in a smoothie daily?
Kindly advise.
Joe Cannon says
Hi Mohammed, if the essential oil is suitable for taking it internally (check to make sure) and if it has 1000 mg of bergamot per serving then it may help lower cholesterol. I’d feel better with a bergamot supplement like this one but if you use the oil then you should know if its helping cholesterol in about a month. Let me know if it works for you.
Mohammed W Sulaiman says

David Dutton says
Interesting review of Cholesterol 360, now a Clorox product (does that mean it will soon have traces of Clorox disinfectants included??? LOL). The serious question, which I almost never see addressed in any reviews or product descriptions, is what effect would this have on insulin-dependent (Type 1) diabetics.
I have stayed away from grapefruit ( (:-( ) due to interactions with other drugs and supplements. Anything you can add to this discussion? Thanks.
Joe Cannon says
Hi David, great question! I sort of touched on this in the side effects section when I advised people taking medication s- and diabetics to talk to their doctor. The reason for this – which I addressed in the Bergamot review – is bergamot can interact with an enzyme called P450.
P450 is involved in the breakdown of a LOT of medications. Sometimes this can lead to a medication breaking down to slowly while other times the medication in question may breakdown to fast. Either way, this an pose a problem for some people.
The P450 enzyme is the same enzyme grapefruit interferes with too (The grapefruit effect which you are well aware of).
There is some evidence bergamot might increase insulin sensitivity. This means it makes insulin work better. While that is generally a good thing, it can get complicated when people are taking insulin or other diabetes medications like Metformin (glucaphage).
I don’t see much specific research on diabetes and bergamot so this is something that I think needs to be better addressed.
Because there are different types of insulin (long acting, short acting, etc.) it might be worth talking to your doctor, pharmacist or endocrinologist about how to use bergamot if you are a type I diabetic taking insulin.
I hope some of this helps David. If you have any other questions, just ask and I’ll try to help.

Hello, I take Levothyroxine for thyroid and Triamterene for fluid blood pressure. My total Cholesterol is 348 / Triglycerides 241 / LDL 251 / Non HDL Cholesterol is 296
I can not take statin drugs.
I would like to try Cholesterol 360 ..Just wondering if I can take this with the meds I listed ?
thank you
Joe says
Hi Karen, I’m not aware of any interactions with levothyroxin or trimterene but to be sure, why dont you ask the pharmacist where you get your meds from.
Cholesterol 360 only has 4 ingredients
vitamin C
Citrus Bergamia
Green Tea extract
Grape Seed Extract
Your pharmacist should be able to give you an idea.
Usually with thyroid meds, the recommendation is to not eat or drink anything (other than water) for 1-2 hours after you take it. Since I’m not a doctor or pharmacist I’m not aware of anything else with that and I am not sure about the triameterine.
Please write back and let us know what your pharmacist says. Im curious. Please let us know what happens if you try Cholesterol 360 too.
Sherry C. says
Hello Joe, came across this site when looking into Cholesterol 360. I love your research into the products and your explanations. I was recently told that my cholesterol is high, all areas. My doctor prescribed Atorvastatin. However, I am quite reluctant to start taking a statin and the listed side effects are some of the issue that I presently suffer with.
I also looked at the Bergamot supplement, but this states that you shouldn’t take if you have high blood pressure. I’m wondering if you can shed some light or insight as to which would be more beneficial in my case.
I have also read some of the reviews of Bergamot on Amazon, some were good but there were a few that weren’t so pleasing at all. Thank you.
Joe says
Hi Sherry, so glad you found my review! I know it can be a challenge with all the other sites out there these days. When I mentioned being cautious when it came to blood pressure it was because of research I saw involving grape seed and green tea. Ive never heard of anybody having blood pressure problems when taking the 360 product but I thought it was better to say it than not, just in case.
I believe the behind Cholesterol 360 is all of its ingredients will work better than bergamot alone. Well, anything is possible but I’d like to see some clinical proof of it.
I believe bergamot is the key ingredient in Cholesterol 360 and I have not heard of any bad blood pressure problems with that. Like all supplements results will vary and that may be why you saw people on Amazon saying different things.
Here’s my bergamot review in case you missed it.
Hope that helps and if you have any other questions, just ask ๐

I am wondering if you have heard of cholesterade.com
it is supposed to be a healthy statin free way of reducing cholesterol
I am wondering if the clinical trials support it and if they do then it may be better than bergamot for overall cholesterol

Hi Tony, I looked at Cholesterade.com and just skimming over the ingredients, it looks like a fiber supplement to me. Ive added it to my list and will take a more closer look in the near future. Have a great Labor Day weekend!
Shirley Curry says
My husband has high cholesterol and Statins cause him a lot of muscle pain. Right now his total cholesterol is 144 with the bad being the higher number. Just looking at your observations, I’m wondering if just using 1000 mg of Bergamot alone would be just as good as Cholesterol360?
Thanks!
Joe says
Hi Shirley, I think you might be on to something. I believe bergamot is the key ingredient in Cholesterol 360. You can always try that for a month or so and see if bergamot alone lowers your husbands LDL (bad cholesterol).
If he needs to lose weight, remember weight loss – even a little bit – can also help lower LDL -and boost HDL and even testosterone levels.
The doctor may mention an injectable drug called Repatha to lower LDL. If she/he does, know muscle pains can be a side effect of Repatha too – and they can be debilitating. I’ve written a review on this – Does Repatha Cause Muscle Pain? The person I know who tried Repatha had severe muscle pain lasting several months. Be sure to read the comments of the doctor too. Just wanted to mention this in case this topic comes up.
Let me know what happens with your husbands LDL levels.
