In this video review, I'll show you the human research conducted on bacopa for memory enhancement. You'll discover the dosage used and what side effects bacopa may have. Tip. Pay attention to the amounts used in research. If you take memory supplements (nootropics), this can help you figure out if your supplements contain an effective dosage.

Hey Joe, thanks for the video – love the videos by the way! Its great to see you!! I’ve been wondering if a memory supplement would help me. Someone recently told me about a coffee supplement but I cant remember the name of it. Is that the same thing as bacopa? Hope you can shed light on this for me.
Joe Cannon says
Joan, I think you are referring to coffee cherry, also called coffee fruit extract. Coffee cherry is the key ingredient in Neuriva, a popular memory supplement
Here is the Neuriva Review which covers the research
Here is a review of Neuriva vs. Prevagen. Prevagen is another popuar memory supplement.
Any other questions, just ask 🙂

Hi,
My name is Richard and I’m 73!
Still quite Lucid but as you might well understand, am concerned about my future!
I am more Concerned about Stopping or reversing any brain damage I might have
rather than some “Quick Fix!”
There are many Supplements available but how do I choose one that is safe and
effective over the “Long Haul,” in terms of me living to my 90’s!
I eat only Atlantic Salmon and Organic Grass-fed Beef, as well as Sardines!
I also grow much of my vegetables, Organically!
Also interested in people who do testing!
I’m a dual major, Biology & Chemistry from Ohio State and am very interested in
your viewpoint(s)!
Thanks, Ric

Hi Ric, I think you are doing pretty much everything you need to to improve your brain functioning. I like that you are eating fruits and veggies becuse as you know, they are full of phytonutrients and other compounds that have a myriad of effects in the body. We have a similar backgound. I also have a chem/bio degree. If like me, you find yourself reading studies etc then you are keeping your brain working so that’s good.
Are you exercising regularly? Studies show what is good for our heart (exercise) is also good for our brain. Heart health and brain health appear to be tightly associated. The currently US guidelines call for doing at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise/activity at least 3 days per week. Moderate exercise is defined as a “3” on a zero to 10 scale. Also, if you can talk while you exercise, that’s also considered moderate.
More good news is exercise does not have to all occur at the same time. you could split it up during the day.
One study I remember seeing found as little as 5 minutes of exercise benefited brain functioning. That’s good but I think better bennefits come with doing more than that. 🙂
Most research on brain function and exercise involves aerobic exercise (walking biking, hiking, swimming). I also think strength training will help too. Guidelines for strength training are to do at least 1 set of an exercise for the major muscles of the body at leats 1-2 days per week. I like circuit traiing which is performing one exercise after another with little to no rest.
Sleep is important too. As you know it’s during sleep that our brain does “house keeping” to prepare for the next day.
If your exercising as well as eating as good as you do, I think you have all your bases covered.
You just gave me a good idea for a new video 🙂
Pam says
Joe, how does Bacopa compare to Prevagen?
Joe Cannon says
Hi Pam, well for one thing there is no bacopa in prevagen. Prevagen has some vitamin D and that jelly fish protein you may have heard about
Here is my Prevagen review which goes into the ingredients and the research too.
Prevagen also has a Neuro Shake which is baiscally liquid Prevagen
Heres the Prevagen NeuroShake Review
