Updated 9/22/23. 1 Db Goddess is a fat burner marketed as the best thermogenic made specifically for women to burn fat fast! Pretty tempting words for a lot of people who want to lose weight, but—does 1Db Goddess really work? Also, is it safe? As I soon learned when I looked into this product, 1 Db Goddess is one of many weight loss and sports supplements sold by the same company, called 1st Phorm. This review will cover on the weight loss supplement 1Db Goddess, its ingredients, proof and possible side effects.

Notice that I've listed the amounts of the ingredients. The 1DbGoddess.com website doesn't tell us the actual amounts of the ingredients, but the website for the company that makes 1Db Goddess—1stPhorm.com—does. I didn't like that they made me chase down this information.
1 Db Goddess has a lot of ingredients. But, more ingredients in a weight loss pill doesn't necessarily mean that it works better. After looking at the ingredients, it appears that 1 Db Goddess is trying to target several weight loss problem areas at once. Those areas are:
- fat loss (of course)
- eating behavior (the Neurocept complex)
- sexual function (the Goddess matrix)
- thyroid function (Adrenacept)
It would be good if all these ingredients worked together to bring about a better all-around effect on weight loss but I must point out that there is no published peer-reviewed proof that 1 Db Goddess does what the makers claim it does. I can't find any studies on 1 Db Goddess and the product website doesn't list any proof either. All I see are sexy girls standing next to the products.
This means that—aside from testimonials from people we don't know—the only way to see if 1Db Goddess works is to look at the proof for its ingredients. Let's do that now.
Niacin (Niacinamide)
The website for 1Db Goddess says that niacinamide “is useful for balancing blood sugar levels.” There is some research showing that high levels of niacinamide might increase insulin secretion although other research has noted that it might worsen insulin sensitivity. I am aware of no published peer-reviewed proof that niacinamide has any weight loss effect.
Tip. Niacin and niacinamide are different forms of the vitamin. One difference is that niacinamide does not cause the flushing sensation that niacin usually does.
Vitamin B 6
The product website claims that vitamin B6 (pyridoxine ) is needed for “proper neurotransmitter function and efficient food metabolism.” Well, that's true, but I wonder how prevalent vitamin B 6 deficiency is in people in developed countries like the US. Vitamin B 6 is found in many foods like eggs, meat and cereals, and multivitamins too.
I was surprised that niacinamide and vitamin B6 —which should have no weight loss effect —were listed as the first two ingredients in 1Db Goddess.
Now, let's look at the different complexes in 1 Db Goddess. The word “complex” is another term for “proprietary blend,” a phrase used by other supplement makers.
- Lipolix complex
- Neurocept complex
- Goddess complex
- Andrenacept
Watch on my Youtube Channel
The Lipolix Complex
The first thing to know is that the word “Lipolix” is an invented word used for marketing purposes. Since “Lipo” means fat, I take that to mean that the ingredients in this complex are the ingredients that are supposed to target weight loss. They are:
Caffeine Anhydrous
This is the fancy name for caffeine. Caffeine is often the #1 ingredient in fat burners even though its effects on fat burning are minimal. The idea here is also that a more stimulated/awake person might do more activity/ burn more calories. When combined with other stimulants, the effects of caffeine may be magnified. Caffeine is also found in other fat burners such as QuickTrim, Nano Go and Avesil to name a few.
Green Tea
Again, this is another ingredient that shows up in a lot of weight loss pills. This stuff is so popular that there is even a green tea weight loss pill based on the premise that green tea helps people lose weight! The problem is that green tea alone might not do a lot for weight loss—especially if it's not combined with caffeine. This is why you often see green tea and caffeine combined in so many weight-loss pills.
Coleus Forskohlii
This stuff has become quite popular in weight loss supplements. In fact, coleus is so popular that I've already written a review of Coleus forskohlii and weight loss. Basically, coleus forskohlii (also called forskolin) ramps up an enzyme that helps us burn fat. The more of this enzyme, the more fat we burn. There is research on coleus but it's not perfect.
I think when it comes to coleus forskohlii and weight loss, I will say it's interesting but we are not at the point where we can say “it works” just yet.
For those who want to compare prices here is coleus forskohlii on Amazon.
Dandelion Leaf
The scientific name for dandelion is Taraxacum officinale. Dandelion has some fiber so that's good. It also has some antioxidants like quercetin, and that's good too. Dandelion also is a natural diuretic. But, I see no published peer-reviewed proof that dandelion leaf helps people lose weight.
Green Coffee Bean Extract
This compound contains caffeine. When you see the word “extract” always ask yourself what extract they are using. In the case of 1Db Goddess, they don't tell us.
While green coffee continues to be a popular weight loss supplement, I don't think it works. In a review of green coffee, the authors noted that research to date —what little there is —has “a high degree of bias.” In other words, while the studies look interesting (they only found three studies they felt were credible), we can't really be sure how reliable they are until better research is done.
If you want to try green coffee, the Svetol brand has been used in some of clinical studies.
Cocoa Extract
What extract of cocoa are they using? They don't tell us. Could it be caffeine?
Synephrine
This compound looks like the herb ephedra, which is banned from weight loss supplements in the US. Synephrine also goes by other names including bitter orange, Citrus aurantium, and “orange peel extract.”
As a rule, suspect synephrine is in any weight loss product that claims to be “ephedra-free.”
Like caffeine, synephrine can raise heart rate and blood pressure. Research into the weight loss properties of ephedra noted greater weight loss when ephedra was combined with caffeine. Since synephrine “looks” like ephedra, this is also why I often see caffeine and synephrine showing up together in supplements.
The weight loss evidence for synephrine is not as good as that for ephedra. As I mentioned in my book, there are 6 different types of synephrine. Some synephrine research doesn't indicate which type they are using. The makers of 1 Db Goddess also don't tell us what type of synephrine they are using.
People with health problems avoid supplements that contain synepherine because it is linked to some potentially serious problems.
Guarana Extract
Again, could the “extract” be caffeine?
Evodiamine
This is another name for synephrine because one of the extracts in evodiamine IS synephrine. The side effects of evodiamine are probably very similar to those of synephrine.
Evodiamine is also found in Vi Slim Metab Awake and Apidexin.
Diiodotyrosine
This is a compound that is made during the manufacture of thyroid hormone (thyroxine). It is an iodine-containing compound. Thyroid hormone needs iodine to work properly. Might this ingredient be used in the hopes that diiodotyrosine would naturally increase thyroid hormone levels?
In the US, the lack of iodine is NOT the cause of low thyroid hormone levels (hypothyroidism). The main cause is a disorder called Hashimoto‘s disorder. This is an immune disorder where the immune system attacks / destroys the thyroid gland.
Giving iodine supplements to people with Hashimoto's disorder might increase the immune system attack on the thyroid gland – making hypothyroidism worse.
Does diiodotyrosine increase thyroid hormone levels in humans? More importantly, does diiodotyrosine lead to weight loss in humans? I don't know. I am unable to find any weight loss studies on diiodotyrosine.
Ironically, there is some animal weight loss research on a related compound called Diiodothyronine. There is nothing about weight loss in humans yet but either way, 1 Db Goddess does not contain diiodothyronine.
How To Test Your Iodine Levels
As was reported in the book, The Fatigue Solution, by an endocrinologist, Dr Eva Cwynar it's possible to see if you are low in iodine. Get some USP tincture of iodine (not the clear version) and paint a 3-inch circle on your skin. The skin will look red/orange when you apply the iodine tincture.
If the color disappears in 1-3 hours, you may be lacking in iodine. If it takes 4-6 hours for the color to disappear, your iodine levels are probably OK. Here is tincture of iodine on Amazon.com.
Remember, do not drink this brand of iodine! If you feel you are deficient in iodine, go to your doctor for a more accurate test of your iodine levels.
Neurocept Complex
Choline Bitartrate
This is another name for choline, something that we make naturally and is found in many foods. Choline helps us make acetylcholine, which is a neurotransmitter (i.e., it helps brain cells talk to each other).
Notice the trend. A lot of the ingredients in the Neurocept complex appear to try to increase acetylcholine levels. This is because some research finds that higher acetylcholine levels might decrease appetite. Most of the acetylcholine appetite research, however, is mouse studies.
DMAE
Other names for this are Di-methyl Amino-ethanol and “Deanol.” DMAE is also thought to increase acetylcholine levels in the brain. DMAE has been studied to help dementia, but results are not very good.
Bacopa Monniera
This ingredient also appears to increase acetylcholine levels and has been studied to improve memory in older adults.
watch on my youtube channel
Picamilon
Picamilon is a compound formed from the union of niacin and GABA (a neurotransmitter). Most of the research I see looks like it was done in Russia. Some websites say that Picamilon can improve mood but I don't see any human evidence of this.
Geranium Extract
Another name for this is dimethylamylamine. Again, what extract of geranium does 1 Db Goddess have? They don't tell us. The only weight loss research I found for geranium were two supplement company-sponsored studies on a totally different product called OxyElite Pro.
Since OxyElite Pro has more than geranium in it, who can say how much geranium contributed to the weight loss effect? Also, in these two studies, only one said it helped people burn more calories. This study only had 12 people and lasted only 2 hours. I think the weight loss evidence for geranium alone is weak.
5-HTP
This compound, also called 5 Hydroxy-Tryptophan, is a version of the amino acid, tryptophan. This is probably included in the Neurocept complex because 5HTP has been studied for both appetite control —and thus weight loss —and depression.
My speculation here is that the idea for adding an anti-depression supplement to the Neurocept complex maybe the idea that overweight people may be depressed and if you can correct this, perhaps people may eat less, especially if they are also taking a supplement (like 5-HTP) that also reduces appetite. Again, pure speculation.
Like tryptophan itself, 5 HTP raises serotonin levels in the brain. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter. Serotonin has a calming effect and makes us more relaxed and, maybe even sleepy. This is also the reason 5-HTP is found in the sleep supplement Dream Water.
See the depression supplements review
Goddess Matrix
Obviously, the phrase “Goddess Matrix” has been invented, probably to coincide with the name of 1 Db Goddess. These are its two ingredients:
T. Aphordisiaca
This word almost looks like the word “aphrodisiac.” That is probably why the makers of 1Db Goddess chose this name over the other name for this herb, Turnera diffusa, also called Damiana.
According to the Wikipedia page for this herb, people sometimes say that Damina helps libido. In one study turnera diffusa improved sexual function in sexually exhausted rats male rats.
(I don’t want to know how they sexually exhausted these rats!)
In this study, researchers used a dosage of 80 mg per kilogram to improve sexual function. So, the amount was based on how much the rats weighed.
Let's translate this to humans. There are 2.2 kilograms in a pound. So, a 180 lb man (81 kg) would need 80 X 81 kg = 6,545 mg (about 6.5 grams) to get the same effect. How much T. Aphordisiaca is in 1 Db Goddess? Only 75 mg.
Also, keep in mind that this was not only a rat study but a study of MALE rats. Does T. Aphordisiaca improve sexual function in female rats? I can't find any studies of female rats. More importantly, I can't find any published peer-reviewed proof that T. Aphordisiaca improves sex in human men OR women.
Ashwagandha
This is also sometimes called Indian ginseng. Its scientific name is Withania somnifera. Its touted as a superfood and aphrodisiac but more study is needed for this purpose. Some research suggests ashwagandha may help hypothyroidism and insomnia.
Watch on my youtube channel
Andrenacept
This is an invented word. It makes me think of the word “adrenalin.” Here are the two ingredients in the Andrenacept complex:
Thiamine Disulfide
This is basically the B vitamin, thiamine. This, like all B vitamins, helps us make energy. Thiamine is in a lot of foods so I don't think healthy people are deficient in the US in this vitamin.
Naringin
This is a compound that comes from grapefruit. Because grapefruit can interfere with many medications, speak to your doctor if this applies to you.
Ingredients in 1 Db Goddess that contain caffeine
- Caffeine
- Green tea
- Green coffee bean
- Cocoa
- Guarana
Ingredients in 1 Db Goddess that are stimulants
- Caffeine
- Green tea
- coleous forskkohli
- green coffee bean
- cocoa
- synephrine
- guarana
- evodiamine
- Geranium (maybe)
Ingredients in 1 Db Goddess that might raise thyroid hormone levels:
- Diiodotyrosine
- Ashwagandha
1 Db Goddess Side Effects
Several ingredients in 1-Db Goddess are stimulants. The supplement website has a list of “what to avoid” worth checking out. Here is a list of things to consider when using this supplement. This list is not complete:
- Start with less than recommended for the 1st week to see how you respond
- The product website says to NOT take if you're less than 21 years of age
- Don't take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Stop taking at least 2 weeks before having surgery
- If you take prescription medications such as for heart, blood pressure, diabetes or blood thinners, talk to your doctor and pharmacist. The supplement contains grapefruit, which may interfere with the medicine you take.
Here are some other theoretical things to consider based on the ingredients:
- There is some speculation that dandelion may interact with medications. So far, though, I'm not aware of any human research corroborating this. Since dandelion seems to be a diuretic, it may have an effect on blood pressure and it might also speed the loss of medications from the body.
- Choline, taken in excess, might cause a body odor. Some people report that the odor smells like fish. There is probably not a lot of choline in 1 Db Goddess so this probably won't happen in most people.
- Synephrine has been noted to interfere with MANY prescription medications, including but not limited to antidepressants and medications used to treat high blood pressure and heart disease. Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using ANY weight loss supplement that has synephrine.
- Since evodiamine contains synephrine, in theory, it may have similar side effects and drug interactions as synephrine.
- 5-HTP may have anti-depressant effects and/or interact with anti-depressant medicine.
- Some research suggests DMAE might also make schizophrenia worse.
- People who are taking medicine for hypothyroidism should talk to their doctor/pharmacist.
If the Neurocept complex increases acetylcholine levels, this might cause headaches if levels go too high. People with medical conditions should ask their doctor before using any product that claims to increase acetylcholine levels. If the product really does increase acetylcholine, the results can be very bad.
Ashwagandha may stimulate the immune system. While probably rare, ashwagandha has been associated with thyrotoxicosis, a condition where thyroid hormone levels are too high. In one report a 32-year-old woman developed thyrotoxicosis after taking ashwagandha for a few weeks. Symptoms subsided after the supplement was halted. Symptoms of thyrotoxicosis can include sweating, rapid heart rate, and anxiety, among others.
There's no evidence 1Db Goddess does any of these things. It may be perfectly safe. These are just some things to consider.
How Much Does 1 Db Goddess Cost?
One bottle containing 80 capsules costs $49.99

What Does “1 Db” in 1Db Goddess Stand For?
I'm still asking myself that question. If you know, leave a comment below and let me know.
Does 1 Db Goddess Really Work?
To me, the supplement looks like a big bunch of stimulants; it's possible that some people may feel a speed effect, which may cause them to move more and, hence, burn more calories. Whether this leads to weight loss is hard to say. Supplements containing stimulants carry some risk. This risk is higher in those who are not healthy. Still, I have concerns about its safety, especially if it is used by people who are not healthy. If you have any health problems at all, talk to your doctor first.

Joe, what are your credentials? And I have called 1st phorm multiple times myself and they have immaculate customer service and knowbthe product inside and out. I highly doubtv you have ever called them. Every product that they make is government inspected before it hits the shelf! I called about the caffeine content. A serving contains 100 mg.
You’re welcome. I would still appreciate your response concerning your credentials in the supplement, fitness andd nutrition industry.
Joe says
Christopher, I have a MS in exercise science and a BS in chemistry and biology. I have written a book about dietary supplements and have been writing/investigating supplements for over 10 years. You can find out my bio etc at Joe-Cannon.com
What gov agency inspections every products before it hits the shelf? The US Gov does not do this for supplements.

Joe,
Thank you for doing the research. I’ve try to read up or research products prior to buying them but I am not as knowledgeable as you are about some of the ingredients. Like the others, I’ve tried many products that did not work for me although it may have worked for others. I’ve come to the conclusion to save my money, buy organic,Watch my portion size and eat something healthy every three hours and try to exercise several times a week along with taking my vitamins and my weight just seems to fall off.
the secret is to keep my metabolism going strong. Not that it will work for everyone, but try to stay moving as much as possible. I really do appreciate the work you’ve been doing. Keep it coming!
Thank you ,
Unique1
Joe says
Unique1, thats very nice of you to say – and I will keep them coming 🙂
Joanna says
I do not work for them. That’s from the 1st Phorm website. Just wanted to put that out for anyone that might have questions. If I worked for them, I would’ve stated that from the beginning, I’m just a fan. Sorry if there was any confusion.
Joe says
Thanks Joanna, I appreciate that 🙂
Heather says
I live in St Louis as well and was tempted by the promise of easy weight loss to try Db Goddess. I visited the local Supplement Superstore and spoke with a very nice sales rep who gave me 3 days worth of DB Goddess to see how I felt while taking them. I didn’t feel any less hungry or more active but I had a headache that was so intense it made almost every thing else impossible.
I have lost 30 pounds without any supplements and just wanted a little help to get through the next pounds. But, I have to say, how I felt on Db Goddess was not worth it. My friends more familiar with supplements said that they all give people headaches and that is just the price you pay. I wasn’t willing to pay the $150 for the FastPack and Night Formula they recommended to feel that bad.
A friend recommended green coffee extract and sent me the link to the Dr Oz clip. That company wanted $150 for 5 months. A little shopping on the internet and I found 3 months for $15. I started taking them two weeks ago and saw a loss of 0.7 pounds in a week with no exercise or other changes. Last week without the green coffee I lost 0.1 pounds. I will be taking the green coffee extracts again this week.
I also added probiotics but I am not sure about their effectiveness.
Joe says
Heather, good for you and wow that’s a lot of money for 1 db goddess! I don’t blame you!
In case you missed it here is my review of green coffee extract .
There is some evidence that gut bacteria may be linked to gaining weight. Its intriguing but I don’t think there is another research to say how significant this is or whether probiotics would help people lose weight. That said if your healthy I don’t think they will hurt you and they do have some healthy benefits too.
Joanna says
My only question would be are you eating with them? If you don’t eat with or shortly thereafter, they will make you feel terrible. Also, they don’t promise easy weight loss without exercise and proper diet. Their website clearly states that. (See below) Again, I’ve seen them work for friends and my husband but that’s just me.
How many pounds will I lose with 1-Db Goddess PRIME?
Any company who gives you an exact amount or a specific percentage of weight that you will lose with their product is only making up a number and is lying straight to your face. The reality is that there is no way for me, or anyone else, to tell you exactly how much weight you will lose while taking 1-Db Goddess PRIME because there are too many external factors that come in to play.
Diet, exercise level, and fluid intake will affect weight loss…and if you keep these in check you will see better results on 1-Db Goddess PRIME. There are also specific genetic factors that can come into play as well as women who have specific, diagnosed medical conditions that can affect the performance of 1-Db Goddess. Giving an exact amount of weight loss to expect from taking it would be unfair…and we don’t play like that at 1st Phorm.
How long will it take for me to see results on 1-Db Goddess PRIME?
You will feel the effects of 1-Db Goddess PRIME the very first day that you take it with increased energy levels and improved focus and concentration. The hormone balancing effects of 1-Db Goddess will take several days to build up in your system and begin working.
As far as seeing results, there are many variables that can come into play. The ingredients and formulation of 1-Db Goddess PRIME are specifically designed to balance female hormone levels to create an optimal environment for weight loss.
1st Phorm does not want to confuse or mislead anyone into thinking that it is a “miracle pill” or a substitute in any way for diet or exercise. The more that you do to control these variables on your own, the quicker that you will see what you are looking for in the mirror!
Joe says
Joanna, I noticed from your statement “we don’t play like that at 1st Phorm” that you work for 1st Phorm. Thanks for chiming in! You mentioned that the hormone balancing effects of 1 Db Goddess can take several days to build up and start working. Can you tell me specifically what hormones we are talking about and if there is any published evidence that 1 Db goddess (not the ingredients – 1Db goddess itself) alters hormone levels in humans?
What does the “Db” refer to in 1 Db goddess? I’ve always been curious about that.
Any help is appreciated Joanna. Thanks!
Joanna says
For what it’s worth, if you have questions, try their Facebook page. They are very responsive.
Also, for the people feeling sick with this, have you tried eating with it? They advise taking it before a meal on the bottle, but the sales associate told me if it made me feel ill, to eat before taking.
Also, they are pretty firm that you won’t see results if you don’t put in the work. Again, this would go back to their Facebook page, but they do not promise magic without hard work. Their products are effective but only if you put in the sweat equity. I personally have not, but a friend has and looks amazing.
They also have a contest every month where they give out $10,000 to their customers for a total body transformation. They seem to be a good local company that’s supporting the economy. Given their dedication to training their employees and wanting to find the right products for the customers (as stated on their website) I find it hard to believe that they wouldn’t offer money back if requested.
Joe says
Joanna, glad they have a responsive facebook page. My question is this: they stress the importance of exercise and I assume eating healthy/low calories. But do they have any proof that 1 db goddess help people lose MORE weight than if they just worked out and ate fewer calories? As far as I know there isn’t any research on 1 db goddess so how do they know it adds anything to just working out and eating a few less calories.
A lot of supplement companies do “challenges” because its a way to generate interest in something. Its like the lottery. Many take part in the lottery but only a few win. The money they make selling 1 db goddess more than makes up for the 10,000 they will pay out for the “winner” and then they get to use that winner in their future marketing. its a win win for the company.
I just wanted to point that out Joanna. I’m sure you are very sincere in your efforts and for what its worth I do hope you have success.

I just started taking them today and have already noticed and increase in my mood and I have a lot more energy than I have in a long time! I feel incredible. I’m not as hungry as I usually am and had to remind myself to actually eat today. I will post back in the next few weeks to post if i have had any muscle toning or weight loss.
I tried looking for before and after pictures of people who take this supplement and have been unable to find any, which is a huge bummer, but i will keep everyone posted on my success or lack thereof

I have a lot of people around me that has tried this product. Most of them are military and have only a few vanity pounds to shed. Not sure of their outcome. Three civilian’s which include myself have also tried it. One lady who has probably 60 lbs to loose said it didn’t affect her whatsoever. No feelings of energy and no weight loss.
The other lady who has maybe 10 vanity pounds loves the product and can lose a few but then gains it back. She doesn’t exercise. It also makes her moody.
I do not exercise like I know I should.
My results are as follows:
extreme energy
appetite suppression
fullness with very little food
No weight loss
aggression at times
altered mental state at times (im on antidepressants)
heart palpitations at times
dizziness
And one time I was working with horses out in the heat of summer and almost passed out, but I also wasn’t drinking enough water, and I was breathing heavily.
headaches at times… caffeine dries sinuses and this seems to be my issue.
If I stopped using the product, it would be 3 days of feeling exhausted and feeling heavy before I’d return to normal…. and that happens to me when trying to cut my caffeine as well.
It also doesn’t have the same effect if the thyrodrive isn’t used in conjunction with the 1db.
Over all, I think it’s a good product if a person is on a schedule and a workout plan. Not doing what I’m doing.
Joe says
Julie, thanks for writing and telling people about your side effects. I am concerned about some of your side effects (heart palpitations, occasional aggression, dizziness etc) so I don’t think its something you should keep taking for those reasons. I wouldn’t use thyrodrive with 1 db either.
Alia says
I am currently taking the prime. I have about a weeks worth left of pills and I haven’t lost a single pound. It’s very disappointing. I’m confused too because I eat such small portions & sometimes don’t even eat at all or forget so I have a tendency to skip meals. I don’t snack very much either.
It just doesn’t add up to me 🙁 any suggestions or answers? I’m 23, 5’6, 148 lbs. I’ve gotten my thyroid checked too and all that turned out ok. I jog throughout the week and do yoga weekly. Helpppp.
Joe says
Alia, you said you skip meals. I wonder if your if your eating enough? Have you ever had your body fat tested? Its often harder to lose just a few pounds than say, 50 pounds because if you only have a few to lose, your metabolism is less.
MJ says
Alia, it sounds like you don’t/shouldn’t lose weight. 5’6 and 148lbs is a healthy weight…And your metabolism probably isn’t great because you don’t eat actual meals and don’t snack throughout the day. A pill is going to work miracles. If you treat your body poorly you’re going to get poor results no matter what “diet” you try.
Edie says
Hello Joe,
The first time I heard about this supplement was from my daughter. She stated that two co-workers are taking the supplement and they have had good weight loss results.
I usually do research before trying anything new and your blog has helped me to make the decision to try it. The funny thing is, I have purchased individual bottles of the ingredients listed above (per Dr. Oz – coleus forskolin, green coffee bean extract, Choline w/insotine, barcopa manieri, Ashwagandha, along with razeberry ketone and other supplements that help weight loss.
I am 58 years, and need supplements such as these to assist my weight loss with the combination of working out 3-4 days a week and eating healthy. I am from St. Louis as well, and plan to order it online because it’s cheaper to the Supplement Store.
Sandra Rehagen says
I just purchased this at the supplement store. I wish I had seen this first. I went in to get something else and this is what they sold me. I specifically asked how much caffeine was in the product because it makes me jittery and gives me really bad anxiety. They told me it was like one cup of coffee. Reading the posts here, I can’t imagine that is true.
Joe, do you have any idea how much caffeine is in this stuff in terms of how many cups of coffee it might be equivalent to? I don’t even want to try it until I have a better handle on true amount of caffeine in it. Thank you for all of your research, I may be out a lot of money and never even open the bottle!
Joe says
Sandra, good question. I’m not sure. have you tried calling the company and asking them that? I really have no idea. If you find out do let me know. I’m curious now that you mentioned it.
Carrie says
Just an FYI, when you type in 1st Phorm International and Fenton, MO into goggle, one of the options that appears is the privacy statement. On that have a physical address for the company. It is 476 Old Smizer Mill Rd #149, Fenton, MO 63026. They probably listed St. Louis, MO as the address in publicity because not a lot of people are familiar with Fenton, MO, and St. Louis is the closest, most recognizable city nearby.
Fenton is in the southern part of St. Louis county. The registered agent is Andrew Frisella, but I can not find much about him except that he took over a set of supplement stores from a business man named Attilio. As for production of the product, I can not find any information on how involved he was with the creation of the 1DB Goddess. I hope this helps a little with those wanting more information.
Joe says
Carrie, thanks for that address. Here is the link to the 1st Phorm Address which looks like its the entrance to a strip mall.
Appreciate you doing that investigating for me 🙂
Meagan says
I have used both the original goddess formula and the prime formula. With the original formula, the biggest result I noticed was the appetite control. I would honestly forget to eat, because I did not feel any hunger, or crave anything. I usually crave carbs and desserts every day, but when I took this original formula, I did not ever feel the need to eat those foods. On the other hand, (maybe because I wasn’t hungry, and wasn’t eating enough), I felt extremely dizzy and nauseous each time I took it.
I am on about week two of taking the new prime formula. I’ve found that the decrease in appetite and cravings is not as strong as it was when I took the original formula. As for the unpleasant nausea and dizziness, I still feel that with this prime formula.
Now that I am on an actual healthy eating plan, eating lean protein, whole grains, and low-fat dairy, eating when I should, and drinking plenty of water, I still feel the nausea, and know that it is not from not eating or drinking enough, like I had originally thought.
I also feel the ‘speed’ effect, but I don’t feel shaky, thankfully, just a little more energetic & definitely warm and flushed, for lack of a better term.
I guess you could say that I don’t ‘want’ to continue taking this product, I don’t like the side effects I have mentioned, but they aren’t severe enough that I feel unsafe taking this supplement…yet! I am going to stick with it for a few more weeks, just so that I can see if taking this supplement religiously alters my weight loss results.
As far as the side effects that I’ve described, my two close friends are also taking this supplement, and they do not feel side effects like I do, so obviously, results aren’t the same for everyone. I’m just explaining my results in case they can help someone make a more educated decision, or in case someone can relate to what I’ve experienced on this supplement as well.
Thank you for this article, Joe, it is so nice to finally read a review that is backed by research and explanation, rather than just heresay. Thank you!

I wish I’d read this before I wasted my money. I normally do a lot of research before I attempt any kind of supplement, but similar to someone’s earlier post, I couldn’t find anything NEGATIVE and after hearing all the radio commercials (I live in Missouri) promising wonderful things, my husband and I thought why not?..I had diarrhea through the entire bottle, my husband had awful heartburn…and both of us are now heavier than when we started! Definitely not buying anymore..

Hi!..I’ve been using the BMR Bliss Go Pack for about two months now and haven’t lost either. It definitely subdues hunger cravings, and I agree…Since I’ve been taking it, I do forget to eat.
As a result, my body has gone into anorexia mode and I now am re-feeding my system to get it back on track. I eat all day…small veggie and clean snacks….salad and fish for dinner.
Protein shake for lunch or breakfast….Veggie protein powder called Plant Fusion. The only physical difference in my physique? Are larger thighs and I can’t figure out why.
I now have an incredible lower back pain that I have to see a specialist about, and as I have been a dedicated exerciser for over 20 years, this is very unusual.
The reason why we can’t find anything negative about this product and the company, is because there is a way to remove all negative comments and information about an individual/company/product…whatever, via special software online.
I find it very unusual for there NOT to be any negative comments about this product whatsoever.
My weight has increased which is hilarious because if anything, I’m now eating less as I mentioned as a result of what the different herbal concoctions are in these products.
I have discontinued my use of it, with about 30 caps remaining. Will see if I now, actually lose the weight I’ve put on while using it.
To add, my mother has tried this as well, and she used it for about a week. She was feeling sick to her stomach, dizzy, heartburn, fatigued and she wants to get her money back but can’t because she ordered online and did NOT purchase at the Supplement Superstore.
1st Phorm does own Supplement Superstore by the way. I followed through with some research into the company after I realized that no one receives an actual 25% discount on the products when mentioning a promotion or radio personality who endorses it.
Apparently, the product already costs $75.00. They tell you at the store that everyone has prior knowledge of this. When I asked why I wasn’t receiving my 25% off of the $75.00, the ‘health advisor” responded that I was receiving it and that normally these products sell for over $100.
When I checked the website, it is offered at $79.00. It’s a scam to entice you into the store. I encourage everyone to simply eat more healthy, exercise moderately, and research Ayurvedic remedies and herbs that do actually assist you in weight control.
Stop wasting your money on 1st Phorm products…..and maybe also research more into Isagenix. It’s a fabulous company that offers products that actually work for every one. …..Thanks and happy health!..Tanya

Tanya, thanks for letting me know about this product. Ive never heard of BMR Bliss Go Pack before now. Its not listed on the 1 db goddess website. The BMR Bliss Go Pack has several stimulants including Hordenine which I first encountered during my review of Plexus Slim Accelerator Plus (click to see the review)
It also has synepherine which is also called bitter orange. This is sometimes used because it “looks” like the stimulant epheddra.
Based on the ingredients I saw in BMR Bliss Go Pack, that is not a product I would take.
You mentioned Isagenix. Here is my review of the Isagenix Isalean shake:

I’ve taken this for about a month now & have lost weight (10 pounds), but I don’t plan on repurchasing when I run out. Since I’ve been taking the recommended amounts, my skin has been extremely itchy & I also feel jittery. I’ve been told that I’m overly hyper at times, but the weird thing is that I still get really sleepy during the day. Just thought I’d add my two cents because this article was helpful & I wish that I’d found it prior to purchasing the supplements.
Joe says
Lucy, it sounds like you were having an allergic reaction.

You can find more information out about the company at the Missouri Secretary of State’s website:

Tried this for a week, and it made me really sick at my stomach. Very unpleasant.

I was born and raised in St. Louis but now live in Florida. I still listen to St. Louis radio via the internet and heard commercials for 1DB Overdrive products over a year ago. My wife and I have both used these pills for a long time now.
I realize that results for everyone can vary, but the two of us are at our best weight that we have been since before we met 16 years ago. These pills are not ‘magic’ by any means…we have done the work to get to our current weights, but we are a firm believer that these pills have aided in the process.
Also, I have spoken multiple times to people at 1st Phorm and their customer service is second to none. They are always incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.

I purchased my first bottle about 4 mos ago. I only take about 1/2 rec’d dose. I think it dose really well for appetite suppression and energy without the jitters like other pills. However, in the last 2 months I have noticed a large increase in hair loss.
I am in my early 30’s and otherwise healthy and I am not sure if this is a result from this product but it is really starting to scare me. I am still currently taking this but wondering if I should stop due to this bizarre side effect. I have never before had hair loss like this and just wondering if anyone else has had the same issues.
Joe says
Sue, just to be sure, get your thyroid checked. hair loss is a sign of hypothyroidism. Having an under active thyroid is more common in women and can it also make it hard to lose weight. Just something to consider.

I live in the Saint Louis area and for those familiar with the area 1st phorm is in Hazelwood. I run a large distribution company and we do not give out our physical address either.
I just finished the first bottle of 1db over drive and i have lost 27 lbs with little effort. It eliminated the cravings of fast food and soda. I found that i had to force myself to eat but with regular meals I lost more weight. For the people with upset stomachs and headaches i would suggest drinking more water.
I will say that the new “prime” fast pack is not as good as the original at killing the cravings but when i do get time to work out I notice i am able to do more reps then ever before.

Thank you so much for this article. I am looking for a product to help my wife. She is trying so hard to loose weight and doing well at it. And hearing all the ads and from ex pro NFL’ers I was thinking about this but you have saved me a bunch of money and maybe my wife’s health. Thanks again
