Viviscal is one of the best-known hair growth supplements. But does it work? I have reviewed the clinical research on Viviscal and previously written about it. In this video review, I will show you the clinical investigations and the before and after pictures. In addition, I'll share how much was used and whether Viviscal For Men is worth it. Does it really work? Here's the proof. You decide.

Any Side Effects?
None of the studies reported any adverse side effects. That's good. In one unpublished report, someone reported headaches. This may be rare. Here are some things to keep in mind when taking this or any new dietary supplement. This list is not complete:
- Start with less for the first week
- Ask your doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding
- If you take medications, speak to your doctor
- Stop taking at least 2 weeks before surgery
- Ask your doctor if it's safe if you're allergic to fish
- Avoid taking it before going to bed
- There's no good proof of Viviscal harming the liver but if you have liver problems, speak to your doctor first
If you read the original review of this supplement, you'll see some people saying ViviScal caused insomnia. This was not reported in any of the clinical trials. What might cause this? One possibility involves horsetail. ViviScal contains 36.7 mg of horsetail. Horsetail contains a little bit of nicotine, which is a stimulant.
Could it be the nicotine in horsetail that's causing sleeping problems in some people? Hard to say but until more is known, don't take the supplement close to bedtime.
Some have said ViviScal caused them to gain weight. Weight gain was not mentioned in any of the studies. This potential side effect comes from testimonials posted in my original review of this supplement. While I think this is rare, for those uneasy about this, weigh yourself daily at the same time (mornings are preferable) to see if it happens to you.
Viviscal does not contain mercury. This is a common misconception. I called the company that makes the supplement -Church & Dwight Co- who confirmed there is no mercury in ViviScal.
Does ViviScal Really Work?
There are now 4 clinical studies that demonstrate ViviScal helps with thinning hair. While I think results will vary, given the research, before and after pictures, and the positive testimonials, this may be something to look at. If it works, you'll need to take it daily for 3-6 months before seeing a difference.

This was so timely Joe, thank you! For the last few months, I’m sorry to say my hair has been falling now. I’m just devastated. I’ve been researching supplements for this but was just so confused. I didn’t know who to believe. Thank you so much for your video of the research. The research was great but it was those pictures that sold me. I’m going to roll the dice and give this a try. Thank you for all the hard work you do to keep us informed.

Hi Barbara, have you consulted with your doctor to see if there might be a reason why your hair was falling out? Hair loss may happen for many reasons. For example, people who go on really low calorie diets can suffer from loss of hair. That’s because they don’t eat enough. Stress can also cause hair loss (we are all under stress these days!). Hypothyroidism can also be a cause.
If none of that applies to you then give viviscal a try and see if it helps.

Joe, you convinced me! I’ve been on the fence about Viviscal for a while now. Those pictures of the women were amazing. Just ordered 6 months of viviscal through your amazon link. I hope to report good news next year. Thank you SO much!
