Update 3/9/24. If you have not heard of Zi Xiu Tang Bee Pollen capsules (also called Zi Xiu Tang Beauty Face and Figure Capsules), this is a natural weight loss supplement where some websites actually encourage people to eat what they want! Even the educational pamphlet that accompanies Zi Xiu Tang Bee Pollen say: “No Diet Restrictions” and that people can achieve “excellent results” even while eating “high fat and high-calorie foods”. The power of Zi Xiu Tang is said to be due to bee pollen and the other ingredients in the supplement. But, things are more complicated than that. This is the second review I've written about the Zi Xiu Tang Bee Pollen. For more insights on the ingredients, see the original review of Zi Xiu Tang bee pollen. Also, read almost 1000 comments on this review and hundreds of comments on the other Zi Xiu Tang Reviews.
Read The Updates First
I posted these updates above the rest of the content so you would see them first. As you will see below, I originally felt Zi Xiu Tang was a laxative, that still did not fully explain the crazy amounts of weight people were experiencing with this product. I wondered if there might be something else behind these effects.
Unfortunately, the FDA proved my suspicions correct when they found a drug called sibutramine (also known as Meridia) in Zi Xiu Tang -as well as other bee pollen weight loss supplements. Sibutramine has been linked to heart attacks and strokes, so it was banned in the US many years ago.
Update 4/8/14. The FDA warns people to immediately stop taking Zi Xiu Tang Bee Pollen's weight loss supplements. It tested several Zi Xiu Tang products – including those that were said to be “genuine” and not counterfeit. The FDA found that some products contained not only sibutramine, an illegal weight loss drug but some also contained Phenolphthalein, a chemical that may increase the risk of cancer. See the FDA alert for more information.

Update. 10/24/12. The FDA has alerted the public that Zi Xiu Tang contains the illegal weight loss drug called sibutramine. They advise people to not take Zi Xiu tang. Click the link to see the FDA Public Notification on Zi Xiu Tang. It took the FDA 2 years to prove what I knew from the first day I reviewed Zi Xiu Tang. There was no way this stuff worked the way it did – if it only had the ingredients listed…
Update 6/26/12. I have written a review of ZXT Gold
Update 7/25/12. : ZXT Gold has been found to contain 2 drugs, see the ZXT Gold review for more information.
6/18/13 Update. Here is the review of Slim Trim U for more information.
At first, I could not explain the weight loss people were seeing with this supplement. One person who commented on my first Zi Xiu Tang review said he lost 13 pounds in 1 month!
Now I know why…
How Does Zi Xiu Tang Work?
Thanks to a friend who sent me a bottle of these so-called slimming capsules I can tell you that bee pollen is NOT the active ingredient in Zi Xiu Tang.
If Zi Xiu Tang works, it's because it's a laxative!
I know this is true because several of the ingredients in Zi Xiu Tang have laxative effects. I suspected this because many websites selling Zi Xiu Tang use the word “cleanse.” Cleanse is the alternative medicine term for laxatives.
Probably, the most famous ingredient in Zi Xiu Tang is senna. Senna is not a weight loss supplement; it is a laxative. The FDA also classified it as a non-prescription, over-the-counter laxative drug.
Several other ingredients as you will see also act as laxatives.
The problem with laxatives is the only weight they help us expel feces (poop) and water.
What Does Zi Xiu Tang Mean?
The supplement's name doesn't seem to refer to anything specific. When translated from traditional Chinese to English, the name means “self-show soup.” However, when translated from Literary Chinese, the word means “be.” Could this be a reference to bee pollen, the alleged key ingredient?
Zi Xiu Tang Ingredients Label

Even if you wear eyeglasses, you will find it very difficult to read the ingredients in Zi Xiu Tang. The bottle and box abound with decorative Chinese art and characters, making reading the ingredients very difficult.
The red lettering of the ingredients makes it doubly hard to read. I had trouble even when I held the bottle up to a lamp! So, to save you the trouble, I've listed the ingredients here.
Zi Xiu Tang Full Ingredients List
Here is the entire list of ingredients in Zi Xiu Tang.
- Bee Pollen
- Chinese Yam
- Barbary Wolfberry Fruit
- Lotus Seed
- Dietary Fiber
- Green tea
- Rhubarb
- Aloe
- Cassia
- Astrigillis
- Polygonum multiflorum
- Lotus leaf
- Gynostemme
- Radish seed
- Malt
- Mulberry
- Hawthorn,
- “Vitamins”
Tthe first 4 ingredients are not weight loss herbs. I've already covered these ingredients in my first Zi Xiu Tang review. Let’s now talk about all the other ingredients.
Zi Xiu Tang Ingredients and Side Effects
Senna. Senna is a laxative. Because Zi Xiu Tang contains senna, it’s possible that the same side effects from using too much senna may be seen in those who take Zi Xiu Tang. The side effects can include,
- Diarrhea
- Abdominal cramping gas/bloating
- Flatulence
- Dizziness
Because of diarrhea, products like Zi Xiu Tang that contain senna may in extreme cases cause excessive loss of electrolytes. This can lead to muscle weakness and maybe heart problems. This is because electrolytes are needed for muscle contraction and the heart is a muscle.
People using heart/blood pressure medications should not use senna-containing supplements or products that have similar laxative effects.

To highlight what can happen with senna overdose, there is a case report of a woman who developed liver failure after long-term use of senna tea.
In this report, the woman was drinking a liter of senna tea that contained 70 grams (2.5 oz) of senna fruit. Even with this amount, it took 3 years before liver failure presented itself. This is worth mentioning because everybody is different, and people often think “more is better,” which isn’t always true.
Unlike the laxative effect of fiber, senna is a non-fiber laxative. It works differently to relieve constipation. One of the ingredients in Senna is a class of compounds called anthranoids, which exert laxative effects by damaging the cells of the colon. Because of this, some have speculated that long-term use of senna, may increase the risk of cancer
Because senna supplements have not been studied for long-term use, it is hard to say if this is true or not.
Senna products should be avoided in people who have
- Hemorrhoids
- Heart disease / Blood pressure issues
- Abdominal pain
- Bowel obstructions
- Pregnant or nursing mothers (for obvious reasons)
- Diabetics
In theory, long-term use of senna supplements may make it harder to defecate as the person becomes dependent on the product.
People who take Zi Xiu Tang may notice that the color of their urine looks pink or rust-colored. This is probably due to the senna (and polygonum multiflorum, discussed below) and is not dangerous.
Update: In 2010 Senna was apparently removed from Zi Xiu Tang. Some people report that their bowel movements are less while others report no change. See the comments for more information.
Cassia. Zi Xiu Tang also contains Cassia. While the word cassia is sometimes used to describe the spice, cinnamon, I don’t think this is how they are using the word because cassia can also be another name for senna.
Both of cassia and senna are listed separately on the Zi Xiu Tang label; cassia appears first, followed by senna. Both words are sometimes used together (“cassia senna”). Other names for cassia senna are Cassia acutifola, and Cassia angustifolia.
If cassia on the Zi Xiu Tang label refers to cassia senna, then this, too, is a laxative and likely works synergistically with senna to promote a greater laxative effect.
Green Tea. Zi Xiu Tang also contains green tea. Because green tea contains caffeine, it’s theoretically possible that the caffeine may slightly raise metabolism. This is likely why the Zi Xiu Tang says “increase metabolism” and “increase energy” on the front of the display box. The box does not say how much caffeine is in Zi Xiu Tang.
Rhubarb. Zi Xiu Tang contains Rhubarb which also has laxative effects. It may also have estrogen-like effects. Rhubarb may act synergistically with senna and cassia to cause a greater laxative effect.
Aloe. Zi Xiu Tang contains aloe as well. Aloe juice also has a laxative effect however the bottle does not say if Zi Xiu Tang contains aloe juice or not.
Astragalus. Like all herbs, there are many types of Astragalus. Often used to treat the common cold, this herb does not seem to have any laxative effect. As for astragalus side effects, in large amounts (about 1 ounce, which is likely more than is in Zi Xiu Tang) this herb may increase the immune system which, while good for some can also be bad for others like those with some immune system disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis.
Polygonum multiflorum. This is an herb also known as Fo-Ti and Ho Shu Wu. Some research notes Polygonum multiflorum has a mild laxative effect. At least 7 case reports have noted liver problems including hepatitis resulting from use/misuse of this herb.
Other reports hint that Polygonum multiflorum might alter blood sugar levels (that may be bad for diabetics).
On a side note, Polygonum multiflorum may also be found in supplements designed to lower cholesterol; research suggests that extracts may lower cholesterol and increase HDL. More research is needed to confirm this.

Gynostemma. Some websites say this herb can both cause both weight loss and weight gain. In this respect, Gynostemma might be classified as an adaptogen. An adaptogen is a non-medical term used in some circles to describe how a supplement “adapts” to your needs. Websites also claim that gynostemma has laxative effects.
Radish Seed. I could not locate any weight loss effects of this ingredient.
Malt: I could not locate any weight loss effects of this ingredient.
Mulberry. This contains fiber which acts as a laxative.
Hawthorn. People who take medications for high blood pressure or a heart condition should not use hawthorn or supplements containing Hawthorn. Hawthorn does influence the way the heart pumps. This means hawthorn can interact with your heart or blood pressure medications.
Vitamins. Zi Xiu Tang lists “vitamins” but does not indicate which vitamins it contains.
Ingredients that are Laxatives
To recap, here are the ingredients in Zi Xiu Tang that are laxatives
- Senna
- Cassia
- Rhubarb
- Aloe (if it contains Aloe juice)
- Polygonum multiflorum
- Gynostemma
- Mulberry

Who makes Zi Xiu Tang?
The company that makes zi xiu tang is said to be the Guangzhou Zixiutang Biotechnology located in China. The strange thing is that I've never been able to find a picture of what this company looks like. Google searches turn up no pictures of the company. Even the website for the company – cn-zixiutang.com – does not show a picture of the company (the website no longer exists).
For more info on the company, see my review of the bee pollen weight loss supplement Slim Trim U.
Zi Xiu Tang Warning Label
If you read the label of Zi Xiu Tang you see this warning of who should not use the product (I'm quoting them verbatim):
“Not Suitable For:
Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. People who suffer from either liver, kidney, Heart Disease, or High Blood Pressure. Adolescents, Elderly, Depressed people, or Anyone with bee or pollen allergies.”
Does Zi Xiu Tang Work?
There is little clinical evidence of weight loss effects for most of the ingredients in Zi Xiu Tang. If it really works, it may be due to laxative effects. Some websites that sell Zi Xiu Tang say the product does not contain sibutramine (weight loss drug), or other drugs like Rimonabant (weight loss drug), Phenytoin (anti-seizure drug) or Phenolphthalein (has laxative effects). This is perhaps a response to previous FDA action against bee pollen-containing weight loss supplements. Does it work as well without pharmaceutical enhancement? You tell me.

Not 6 weeks dear, I’ve been off now for 7 days (lol). Still no apetite, I can take food or leave it. Mouth still dry and my mood is back to normal. Not drinking AS MUCH water as when on the pill. I don’t know what’s making me “crave” this pill either, but I don’t know everything that is in it, I’m not sure, however;the craving for it isnt as bad as it was yesterday, in fact today I don’t want it at all. This is the first weight loss pill that i’ve ever taken in my life (I hate pills). I’m still having bouts of lightheadiness as well. HTH
Cathy
Cathy thanks for the update on the other versions of zi xiu tang. Ill be interested to review the weight loss evidence for spirulina. I’m glad you’ve lost weight but find it odd you still dont have an appetite after 6 weeks of not using zxt.
Its odd you say your body is “craving” zi xiu tang. Nothing in the pill appears to be addictive. I wonder if anybody else taking zi xiu tang feels addicted?
*6 Day off update*
This is day 6 w/o taking any pills. I still have no appetite, I’m literaly forceing myself to eat. I’ve felt really sick to the stomach for the past 3 days (just finished some ginger root tea to help with that). I havent gotten on the scale these 6 days because I’m not ready to deal with what I may or may not see yet. My mood swings subsided on yesterday, I’ve been sleeping like a baby, my heart never raced while taking the pill, but is raceing now that I’ve stopped taking it. My body is craving this pill for some reason, but I havent decided yet to continue. Although I only lost 4lbs while on the pill, I lost a lot of inches, and lost a few more since off the pill. My mouth is still very dry, I must continue to drink water. FYI there is now a newer version of zxt, they are making it now without senna or cassia (which is the one that I have). There is also another version of zxt that has spirulina in it, there is also a version that you take one a day (350mg pill). All of these pills originated from CHINA, no matter what you see printed on the label, none of these are manufactured in the united states. I’ll post later with documentation to prove their origin. HTH
Cathy
Thanks Danielle. Appreciate the feedback and glad your enjoying the conversation. After I read your comments, I did review the scientific research on bee pollen but didn’t see anything about it helping allergies. This may be because no researchers have had the sense to study it for this reason yet. I don’t know.
I have been following these feeds for awhile as I love hearing how different people reaction and experience this product. I personally have been taking it off and on for over a year and even started referring my friends to it. Some things that I’ve been reading though, bothers me. After some time of using it, I have really learned about my body and what works with it and what doesn’t. But I have some tips for people who are going to take it for a few months.
1. You should only take one pill a day for a week and then start taking two. You should not have to take three pills.
2. You need to be taking a multi-vitamin, and I recommend the nature-made liquid/easy absorption as they dissolve as food. Centrum & One a Days are toxic and personally make me sick. They may have the vitamins in them but they are not designed to absorb in your body.
3. Because it is working so hard to flush out the toxins, separating good & bad fats, replenishing skin cells (lotus seed) increasing metabolism, etc. your body needs rest from the pills for a few days between bottles.
Also, research the positive effects of bee pollen. It’s practically eliminated my allergies.
I could go on but I dont have time, but I really wanted to give a few tips that I know might help some people.
That’s funny because I didn’t see an authentication code on my bottle. The good news is that something is definitely working in some people who take zi xiu tang. What is responsible for that effect I am not sure. I am just pretty sure it’s not bee pollen.
Yes I’m glad a lot of people are commenting. That’s really the only way to often get the real story about whether something works or not. I personally moderate all comments so no spammers get in and I think that helps people.
Glad you are enjoying my site also! I have lot’s more reviews on the burner 🙂
“Sensa” , yeah that’s right. The reviews didn’t seem right.
I can understand your hesitancy with these pills. It’s only my desparation driving this attempt with Zi Xiu quite honestly. I’ve always been of the belief that if there WAS an effective, safe and simplified weight loss pill out there, OPRAH would have it. That’s the only guideline you’d ever need. But here I am.
I just checked my bottle and mine has the GMP stamped on it but it doesn’t say “Philsburg Mall”. Perhaps they made those specifically for a distributor? I know some personal trainers that sell supplements and they have their business name printed on the bottles and not the suppliers information. Mine also has an authentication code on the back (which you scratch off) but really, I don’t see how that is helpful or comforting.
I can’t really say the bottle or the pills look cheap to me. It does smell of honey (ish) as opposed the “crushed aspirin” some sources say the counterfeit ones smell like.
As I mentioned in my initial post though, I really am surprised about the appetite suppressant effect they have. It will be interesting to see if that wears off in time.
I do appreciate everyone’s feedback though … it’s certainly gotten a lot responses on here. I hope they keep coming.
This is a great website by the way, … I refer to it often.
Thanks for your “2 cents worth” and for your thoughts about zi xiu tang. I’m glad you are losing weight and even if it is not as dramatic as you might like, it’s best to lose a little bit at a time rather than a lot
The “sprinkle” supplement you mentioned is Sensa. I reviewed Sensa also on my site too.
I do have a bottle of zi xiu tang but honestly, I’m kind of scared to take it. I am because the bottle kind of looks “cheap” to me. I keep saying to myself if it looks cheap, how much care did they put into the ingredients?
Also while my bottle does say GMP (good manufacturing practices), I can’t verify this because I don’t see any company where the zi xiu tang was made. All my bottle says is the “Phillipsburg Mall” in New Jersey. I know they didn’t make it.
The person who gave me my bottle did so because she was scared to take it too. I know I’m being a chicken about this but that’s my 2 cents worth 😉
I’m on day 13 of taking this product and this is my experience:
Background: 43 yrs old and have, up until 3 yrs ago, always been healthy and at an ideal weight. These past 3 yrs however I saw a disturbing and rapid 65lb weight gain.
I’ve always been active, followed a low-glycemic diet, no junk food, etc. As my weight climbed, I went to see doctors, specialist, naturopaths, etc. Nothing they did helped …not even the cortef and desiccated thyroid I was given to treat suspected thyroid and adrenal gland malfunction. Every day seemed to break a depressing new record on the scale.
It’s been pretty difficult emotionally and I can’t even tell you what it’s done to my self-esteem and subsequently, social life. It has affected every single thing I do, and don’t do.
I came across this product accidentally while I was researching another weight loss product, a ‘sprinkle’ that is supposed to affect your olfactory/appetite.
I abandoned that search as it was looking sketchy and started looking at all the websites for Zi Xiu, …reviews, including yours – which I’ve always found to be unbiased. After I disqualified all the ones selling the product, the ones suspiciously referring to it as a “miracle pill”, the ones who lost 10lbs in 2 days, etc ….there still seemed to be a lot of ‘slow but steady’, more credible success stories out there, including those of your commentators on here.
So I ordered a bottle. I live in Canada but I ordered from a distributor in the U.S. The first day I only took 1 pill just to verify if I had any strange allergies I didn’t know about. I didn’t. Day 2 I started the 2 pills a day. And on day 8 I started 3 pills (which I won’t be increasing).
Reactions:
The first couple of nights I didn’t sleep so well, restless. I was mildly thirsty at the beginning but I consume a lot of water anyway so that was an easy fix. There were no changes to my bowel movements or laxative effect at all, which would have been, quite frankly, welcomed. Or any diuretic reaction for that matter. The first week I felt a little bit of heartburn-like feeling, but in the back of my throat. At the beginning of the 2nd week there were a couple of evenings where I had a dull headache that could have been attributed to the pills. None of these effects continued.
The most significant (for me) side-effect these pills have had was the appetite suppressant, very surprisingly so. I am of the belief nothing but a prescription drug could do that….like the de-listed Phen/Fen combo of old. For me anyway – my body is pretty resistant to these kind of things (yes, I am ashamed to say, I have tried many other weight-loss products with zero effect). But it was a pretty distinguished reaction.
The other thing, related to that…and equally surprising ….was the effect it has had on cravings. Not even the lil piece of chocolate I often craved after meals have I wanted since I’ve been taking these.
Also – In the afternoons, when I’d been having really, really low energy dips prior to the pills, I was (again surprisingly) feeling back to normal …not hyper or ‘jittery’, but ‘normal’, like I used to be.
Results:
The day before I started the pills I invested in a high-end digital scale. I’m glad I did because the daily decrements (word? opposite of ‘increments’?) were so small they were measured in fractions. But they were there. So 13 days later I’ve lost 4.4 lbs. Nothing spectacular but considering my personal circumstances, more than I expected. And as research tells you, a healthy pace.
Personally I don’t understand what is in these pills that could possibly have that effect on the appetite, cravings or energy …but that’s how my body has reacted to it anyway.
Now maybe it’s a fluke. Maybe the weight loss won’t continue …I do have a long way to go….but it’s just encouraging enough for me to want to at least give another bottle/month a try. I have since found someone here in Toronto who distributes it so it will be little bit easier for me to obtain, without going through customs, etc.
It would be interesting if you did a trial yourself on the product and reported your findings. If you don’t have any significant weight to lose yourself, surely you know some one who does. I think your readers would appreciate your unbiased chronicling of the results.
This genre of products is the most disappointing of all consumer goods available and most prone to scams and charlatans. They market mercilessly and relentlessly to a very vulnerable desperate consumer, myself included.
So I share your scepticism. But I’m cautiously optimistic, as they say, about this one, for the moment anyway. I may feel differently in a couple of weeks.
I will TRY to remember to check back to report in but it would be nice to hear someone’s experience who’s been taking it (and only that) for a few months.
My two cents worth …
ok so i have been on the pills since august and i have lost 60lbs. i do eat better and i stopped drinking coffee and all that other crap. i get very bad cotton mouth but as long as i drink enough water I’m fine. here’s my concern..i got high blood pressure..which as overweight as i was might seem normal. but im only 25. here’s my thing…i have a HUGE line of HBP in my family. so i don’t think this pill ALONE caused anything. i was very honest with my dr and even brought him to the website that i ordered the pills from (a local friend) and he didn’t seem to see anything that would interact…i have NO craving for junk food..at all. for example i have two small children and for Halloween normally i would have eaten their costumes if they had chocolate on them, but now i might have a piece and I’m fine. going out to dinner i never finish everything on my plate anymore and i don’t WANT coffee and soda. it makes me feel gross. of course once in a while i need caffeine more than want. the only times i get dizzy or feel medicated is if i don’t eat. and i believe its because of low blood sugar so i make sure i have small meals and carry snacks around with me and im good. i know i don’t have diabetes because i get tested regularly because of family history. going to the bathroom..in the start yes. you do go more. but it fades out. yes sometimes is a little more loose then others BUT if you get ALI or stacker2 or something it tells you if you eat bad food that will happen. i know i sound like an infomercial i just searched and searched for some negative feed back and just now am finding this and its breaking my heart..haha. i have sent a lot of people to get this pill and only one person i know has lost very little weight.when i went to the Dr he put me on a very low dose very mild medication and i seem to be doing fine. i was getting dizzy at first but again because i wasn’t eating. apparently the blood pressure med i am on is also and appetite suppressant and diuretic. I am going back to my DR in 2 weeks to see if the BP is back down and it had already lowered 3 points a week ago. I really hope that the about of SENNA in the pills is not harmful to me and that the whole bathroom issue is not as bad as it sounds. i do not plan to be on these forever BUT I am now at a size i haven’t been since high school and feel better then i have about myself in a long time. i will run this by my doctor again and see what he says. yes i want to lose weight but no i don’t want to die or have lasting effects. Please keep updating. I know ALL diet pills have side effects and no matter what you do nothing is a magic pill but for me this seems to work. iI wish you all the best in your journey to a healthier you!
Kathryn. Thanks for writing and sharing your thoughts about Zi Xiu Tang.
I have been taking this product for about 12 days and until the last couple of days I did not see any difference in my weight but bowel movements were looser. I did not think it was working until I weighed yesterday and my doctor’s scale said I had lost 20 lbs. I tried weighing several different times of the day and still showing a loss. I thought my scale was broken. Today I weighed and have lost another 2 lbs. I do not experience the dry mouth unless I do not drink enough water. I have noticed my heart fluttering but it used to do the same when I was taking a different blood pressure medication. I think the good will outweigh the bad effect.
Thank you Cathy. Your words mean a lot to me.
Well, as for me, I appreciate ALL of the good and bad comments concerning something originating from a foreign country that I “choose” to put in my body. I want to be very well educated about this stuff! It’s common sense to make an educated decision about something taken by choice that could have life altering after effects. I’m thankful that someone who doesnt have to care chooses to care about the well-being of others. It’s his blog, and he can answer however he pleases, he doesnt have to support zxt if he doesnt want to. I’m ex-military, and have been to countries where they sell some drugs useing human remains, they wont disclose this of coarse, and I’m sure they say it’s made with all natural ingredients! I know that may be an extreme example, and I am talking about a certain African country but China isnt too far from there, and I know a few dirty secrets about China as well. If you’re going to market something to a particular country you’re going to say whatever needed to appease to the people of that country. My God, if someone were to die taking this stuff or suffered a long term health issue from useing zxt many users would say”I wish I knew” or “I wish that I had a warning.” I’m very thankful for this blog and for every unbiassed contribution given by those useing zxt
HI Daneen. I answer anyone who specifically asks me a question or if I think they might need some impute. Yes I do want to call attention when somebody sells Zi Xiu Tang -or any other product – because I think that is important. I’m not censoring anyone who comments and I don’t have an agenda.
I want to use this forum as a place where people can get unbiased answers to their questions. I do appreciate your feedback however and if you have any other questions feel free to ask.
I find it very telling that you are only answering or commenting on the blogs which seem to support your theories. Or you put through very pointed barbs such as “So, your daughter sells Zi Xi Tang”. I think your article has good information but it is important to look at the success people have been having with this product in addition to the dangers it presents. The fact that you only seem speak to the negative of the product make me suspicious of you….. Let me state also that I am not currently taking this product nor do I “sell” it. I heard it mentioned for the first time while at my hairdresser and decided to read up on it. In addition, the warning label that I read in the package that was on display list a lot more conditions where you should not take the product.
Thank you for your review Joe, I’ve been taking Zi Xiu Tang for about 3 weeks and have lost 7lbs but have really trimmed down so it looks as if I’ve lost more. The dry mouth is a major pain and I’ve experienced the dizziness at times. My main reason for trying the pills was the laxative effect as I have IBS with Constipation and extreme bloating I needed some relief. I’ve not had the many bathroom visits but at least once a day and for me that’s great as I could go for days and not have a bowel movement. The bloating and cramping that I normally get after eating or even drinking water has not been an issue thus far which really excites me. I take indoor spin classes at least 3 days a wk and weight train 2 as I know a healthy life style is key, the extra boost of energy helps. I must agree with the others as my cravings for junk food has pretty much vanished and when i do indulge its in small amounts. I will forward your info to friends that use the product and have lost much more weight than I have as knowledge is power…another thing I have noticed, I’ve never sweated a lot even during strenuous workouts just kinda glistened but now I really sweat during my workouts and the dry mouth keeps me drinking plenty of water. Thanks again Joe for your information
I’m glad you found my site too Cathy! I think your the first person to say that Zi Xiu Tang raised your blood pressure. I am glad you are losing some weight with just one Zi Xiu Tang pill. Why don’t you take the bottle to your next doctor visit and see what he/she thinks about it.
I’m so happy to have found this site. I have been taking these pills for about 3 weeks now. I started with 2 but they had me waay to dizzy, and thirsty and my blood pressure was so elevated I thought that I would have to go to the hospital so I began taking 1 a day. I’ve lost 3#’s in 3 weeks which is okay for me, I’d rather lose it slowly instead of too fast, yeah, it suppresses the appetite somewhat (with one pill), but more with 2 pills. I don’t crave water with 1 pill like I did with 2 pills, but am forced to drink a lot of water to satisfy the dry mouth feeling which is constant. I’m not “running to the bathroom”, but my bowels don’t seem to be as normal as they were before I started taking this pill. I’m still getting light headed at times, especially at night which is very uncomfortable. I’m having major hot flashes after a meal, and at night, sometimes even cold flashes. Overall, I wouldn’t call this or any other pill a miracle pill no matter how effective it is as a diet aid. I’m disabled and overweight, and decided to give this a try to see if it could “jump start” my metabolism. I may finish the entire bottle, or I may not. I don’t like feeling medicated, light headed, and moody most of the time. My heart doesn’t race but it certainly will elevate your blood pressure just as most weight loss,or hunger suppressants do. I would proceed with caution taking these. HTH someone
So, your daughter sells Zi Xi Tang. Regardless I’m glad you are losing weight. When you said your blood sugar is “6-7” that is your hemoglobin A1C level not your blood sugar. People often confuse them.
Also You MUST EXERCISE to stay healthy. if you do not exercise you are losing muscle – muscle WILL NOT come back if its destroyed. Ask your doctor about the benefits of exercise for you.
