Update 6/28/23. Vegamour hair growth serum promises “Visible results in as soon as 30 days” and to improve the density of your hair by over 50% – and they have some impressive before and after pictures to back up that claim. Pictures aside, you likely have lots of questions about their Gro hair serum and Gro+ Advanced serum, which are both vegan and cruelty-free. In this review, you'll discover the ingredients in both of these topical hair serums and how they differ. Hint: one of them has cannabis and CBD. I'll also discuss the eyelash serum too.

3 Key Differences
The Gro + Advanced serum has the following ingredients:
- Cannabis Sativa extract
- cannabidiol (CBD)
- Bergamot peel oil expressed
The choice to add cannabis and CBD to a hair serum is unique. Hair follicles do have receptors for CBD. Cannabidiol also has anti-inflammatory effects, which may play a role in its hair growth potential. That said, it's unknown whether topical CBD can regrow hair in humans.
Both hair serums contain bergamot peel oil but the advanced serum contains expressed bergamot peel oil. The meaning of “expressed” is not known. Bergamot is effective at lowering cholesterol levels. It has also been shown to grow hair in mice.

4 Vegamour Before & After Pictures
The company website displays some interesting before and after pictures. The company also claims that after 4 months, Vegamour serum can:
- Increase the appearance of hair density by up to 52%
- Reduce signs of shedding by up to 76%
My Thoughts
Notice the company did not say the serum increases hair density. Rather they say it improves the “appearance” of hair density. This strange wording may be due to FDA regulations about what companies can and cannot say about products.
It's investing that the same before & after pictures are used to illustrate the effects of both the GRO hair serum and the GRO+ advanced hair serum. Since they are different products, I'd like to see different pictures.
The company says their before and after pictures are from clinical research where people used Vegamour for 150 days. It is not known if that research is peer-reviewed. It is also not known if the GRO+ Advanced hair serum is superior to the “regular” serum.
Vegamour reviews on Amazon are a mixed bag. Some verified purchase customers have stated they started noticing results after 1 month, while others stated it did not work.
5 How Long Does It Take To Work?
According to the company, results should start to appear after 3 to 4 months. The company also says results will vary.
6 How Does It Work?
According to the company:
- Vigna radiata extract (mug bean) fortifies the dermal papillae. Vigna radiate also contains zinc, selenium, silica, iron, and Vitamins A, B, C, K, and biotin
- Curcumin battles free radical damage thought to contribute to hair loss
- Red clover contains anti-inflammatory isoflavones
- Cannabidiol (derived from hemp) soothes skin and helps the other ingredients work better. The company says their CBD molecules are smaller to facilitate better penetration of the hair shaft.
Translation: Vegamour seems to work mostly by reducing free radicals and inflammation.
7 How Do You Use The Hair Serum?
Apply once daily to your scalp and massage it into your problem areas. Use once a day until you see the results you like. Afterward, apply 3 to 4 times a week to maintain the results.
8 What About Eyelashes?
Don't use the hair serum on your eyelashes. Instead, use the eyelash serum because it has an applicator and the ingredients are somewhat different. The company also shows before and after pictures of eyelashes which do show significant improvements. There are two types of Vegamour eyelash serums:
- Gro+ Advanced Eyelash serum
- VegaLash Volumizing Serum
So how are they different? Here are the ingredients in both eyelash serums side-by-side:
Gro+ Advanced Eyelash Serum | VegaLash Volumizing Serum |

9 Eyelash Serum Ingredient Details
The Gro+ Advanced eyelash serum has cannabidiol and Cannabis Sativa. While popular, these may not be the key ingredients. Notice both eyelash serums contain Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3. At least one study has shown the combination of Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3 and ginseng worked as wall as minoxidil when it was given to people with androgenetic alopecia, a common form of hair loss in men and women.
Vegamour contains both Acetyl tetrapeptide-3 and red clover. Another investigation noted that the topical use of Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3 and red clover helped hair loss. Could Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3 and red clover be the key ingredient in Vegamour eyelash serum?
10 Where Can You Buy Vegamour?
You can purchase it directly from the company. It is also on Amazon. It does not appear Vegamour is sold locally at Ulta, Safora, Target, Walmart, or similar retail outlets.
11 Vegamour Clinical Research
The company mentions the results of clinical studies on its website. But it does not state if these studies are peer-reviewed. Peer-reviewed studies are preferred because they are reviewed by other medical professionals first. That said, the before and after pictures appear to show significant changes are taking place when Vegamour is used for up to 4 months.
12 Vegamour+ Rogaine: Better Together?
Rogaine (Minoxidil) has been FDA proven to regrow hair since the late 1980s. Depending on which study you read, rogaine may be between 40%-60% effective at regrowing hair in men and women. So, it has a proven track record. But no studies could be located which combine Rogaine and Vegamour. It's possible they may work better together but it will take clinical studies to know for certain.

15 Vegamour vs. Nutrafol
Nutrafol is one of the most well-known names in hair growth supplements. So how does Vegamour compare? There appear to be no studies that compare Vegamour to Nutrafol, Keranique, Viviscal, or any other hair vitamins. To be fair Vegamour is not a dietary supplement. So it makes sense to see no comparison research. It's also unknown if Nutrafol, Viviscal, etc., would improve the effects of Vegamour.
If you are considering a hair growth supplement, Viviscal has more proof than Nutrafol.
16 What About Lasers?
I'd be much more interested to see if Vegamour improved the effects of low-level lasers, which also have impressive before and after pictures. Here's my video of low-level lasers and regrowing hair:
Watch on my Youtube channel if you prefer.
17 Vegamour Side Effects
So, is Vegamour safe? There are no known side effects. That said if you have not tried the serum, shampoo, or eyelash serums, it may be wise to begin by applying to a small swatch of skin. This way, if you have side effects, they can be minimized.
In the past, some shampoo makers have been accused that their products causing hair loss. So far there are no reports of Vegamour causing hair loss, so that's good.
The GRO+ Advanced serum contains both Cannabidiol (CBD) and Cannabis Sativa. Do these get into the bloodstream? If you are subject to drug testing, reach out to the company and request proof the hair serums are drug-test safe.
18 What About Vegamour Gummies?
The ingredients in the gummies are different than those in the hair serum. From the ingredients listed, Vegamour Biotin Gummies look like a combination of vitamins, minerals, sugar, and medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs). I see no evidence they will regrow hair or improve the effects of the hair serum.
The gummies contain a good amount of biotin. Be aware that biotin can interfere with blood tests so stop taking a few days before having blood work and inform your doctor.
19 Does Vegamour Serum Work?
The company has posted some very interesting before and after pictures which, if they are believed, seem to show Vegamour hair serum may work in some people. That said, I do think the results will vary. While I'm cautiously optimistic based on those pictures- I'd like to see their clinical research, which unfortunately could not be located. If you try Vegamour, remember it may take a few months to see a difference.

Hi everybody. I just posted a video on peppermint oil and its ability to grow hair.

Betty says
I’ve been using Vegamour for 6 months and I’m seeing new hair growth in the front and top of my scalp. It didn’t happen overnight but It’s definitely noticeable.
I was also really impressed by your video on the lasers too. Do you think Vegamour would work better if I also used a laser Helmut?
Joe Cannon says
Betty, that’s great news I’m glad Vegamour has helped you. I’m impressed with the before and after pictures for low-level lasers. In theory, they may work better together but there is no proof. There are no studies combining them. If you try it let me know what happens. If it helps, This is the laser helmet I briefly mentioned I experimented with in the video.
