Update 9/1/20. The Thrive shake mix, also called Premium Lifestyle Mix is part of the Le-Vel line of supplements and said to be the “first and only ultra-premium mix ever developed” and is designed to support lean muscle, weight management, and fitness. This review will focus on the Thrive Shake Mix ingredients and research on those ingredients to give you an idea if its right for you. If you have a question, leave a comment below. Also, see the reviews of Thrive W and the Thrive Patch for more insights.
Thrive Shake Mix Research
An information sheet I have for the product states that the Thrive shake mix is the “first and only ultra-premium mix ever developed.” Sounds impressive but are there were any clinical studies on the supplement? Searching medical databases for:
- Thrive Research
- Le-Vel Research
did not reveal any clinical Research on the Thrive Premium Lifestyle shake mix.
To better understand the shake, it's necessary to look at its ingredients. Let's do that next.
Thrive Shake Nutrition Facts
Each serving of the Thrive shake is 35 grams (about 1 oz) and has the following nutrition information. The percent daily values in the 3rd column of the table are based on eating 2000 calories per day.
Amount per serving | Percent Daily Value | |
---|---|---|
Calories | 110 | |
Total Fat | 2 grams | 3% DV |
Total Carbs | 9 grams | 3% DV |
Dietary Fiber | 5 grams | 20% DV |
Sugars | 2 grams | N/A |
Protein | 15 grams | 30% DV |
Vitamin A (beta carotene) | 2500 IU | 50% DV |
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) | 24 milligrams | 40% DV |
Vitamin D (cholecalceferol) | 200 IU | 50% DV |
Vitamin E (d-alpha tocopheryl acetate) | 10.5 IU | 35% DV |
Thiamine (thiamin hydrochloride) | 75 milligrams | 50% DV |
Riboflavin | 85 micrograms | 50% DV |
Vitamin B6 | 1 milligram | 50% DV |
Folate (folic acid) | 200 micrograms | 50% DV |
Biotin | 135 micrograms | 45% DV |
Pantothenic Acid | 4 milligrams | 40% DV |
Calcium (tricalcium phosphate) | 400 milligrams | 40% DV |
Iodine | 60 micrograms | 40% DV |
Magnesium | 100 micrograms | 25% DV |
Zinc (zinc methionine) | 6.75 milligrams | 45% DV |
Selenium (selenium chelate) | 14 micrograms | 20% DV |
Copper (copper chelate) | 1 milligram | 50% DV |
Manganese (manganse chelate) | 600 micrograms | 30% DV |
Chromium (chromium polynicotinate) | 60 micrograms | 50% DV |
Molybdenum (sodium chelate) | 38 micrograms | 50% DV |
Looking over these ingredients, the things that stand out to me are the 5g of fiber and the 15 grams of protein. My guess is the fiber in the shake is a combination of oat fiber and bran (see the tables below) although it's possible that the maltodextrin and xanthan gum provide some fiber too.
Thrive Shake Protein
Each pack of the Thrive shake has 15 grams of protein. The protein comes from a combination of:
- Soy protein
- Pea protein (click to read review)
- Whey protein concentrate
Here's a quality protein powder I like
The ingredients are listed in order as they occur in the “other ingredients” table below. This tells us that there is more soy than whey since soy is listed before whey in the table. I mention this only in case it matters to anyone.
There are a lot of vitamins and minerals in the Thrive shake mix but I don't think most people are lacking in these.
One interesting thing observed in the Nutrition Fact label concerned the last ingredient, Molybdenum. In the Nutrition Facts label above, in parenthesis, they say molybdenum comes from “sodium chelate.” I wonder if this might be a typo? I say this because I don't understand how sodium chelate is a source of molybdenum?
The word “chelate” means to attach one thing to another to increase its absorption. For example, in the table above, we see the mineral manganese is present as “manganese chelate.” We see the same thing with copper (copper chelate) and selenium (selenium chelate). With Molybdenum we don't see molybdenum chelate, but rather sodium chelate.
Thrive Shake Proprietary Blend Ingredients
The table below lists the ingredients in the Proprietary Blend of Thrive shake mix. We are not told how much of each ingredient is present, but they do tell us that this proprietary blend adds up to a total of 1595 milligrams. That's about 1.6 grams. Putting things in perspective, 1 oz equals 28 grams.
Read the table from left to right and this will tell you which ingredients are present the most and least. For example, since garcinia fruit extract is listed first, it makes up most of the proprietary blend.
Garcinia fruit extract | Oat fiber | Natural caffeine from black tea |
Lactobacilius acidophlius | Rice bran | Amalase 5000 |
Bromelian 600GDU | Cardomon seed extract | Cellulase 1000 |
Ginger root | Lipase 1000 | Papain 6000 |
Protease 1000 | Protease 5000 | Cinnamon bark extract |
Let's now go over some of the ingredients on this list.
Garcinia Fruit Extract
While they don't tell us what extract of garcinia fruit is present in the Thrive shake, I think this is a reference to Garcinia Cambogia. I say this because there have been studies of Garcinia Cambogia and weight loss. Some of these studies show it works while others show it doesn't work. When I reviewed the research on garcinia Cambogia, I noticed that many studies used between 500 mg and 2 grams per day.
The Thrive Patch also has Garcinia Cambogia.
While Le-vel doesn't tell us how much garcinia is in the shake, we do know that all the ingredients only add up to 1595 mg (about 1.6 grams). Garcinia makes up most of the proprietary blend, it's probably in the 1/2 to 2 grams range that many studies use, albeit on the low end.
See my review of garcinia Cambogia research for more insights. There is evidence it may be linked to liver failure in some people.
Probiotics In The Shake
The Thrive shake has Lactobacillus acidophilus. This is a common probiotic bacteria. If you eat yogurt, you may have seen it listed.
One thing they don't tell us is how many colony-forming units (CFU) the product contains. If you have any probiotic supplements, you might notice that companies often list how many CFU the product has. For example, you might see “1 billion CFU.” In probiotics, CFU is kind of like potency of the product.
I don't know the CFU number for the Thrive shake. If anyone does, let me know and I'll be glad to update this part of my review.
Another thing we don't know is what strain of Lactobacillus acidophilus the shake contains? Just saying”Lactobacillus acidophilus” does not tell us which particular strain of Lactobacillus acidophilus the product has. For example, does it have:
- Lactobacillus acidophilus La-14
- Lactobacillus acidophilus L-92
or others?
Different strains of bacteria can have different effects. For example, one strain might help diarrhea while another might help urinary tract infections. Currently, makers of foods and supplements don't have to tell us the strain of the probiotic bacteria they use.
Caffeine
I don't know how much caffeine is in Thrive Shake mix. They do tell us it contains “natural caffeine from black tea.” I don't know if natural caffeine is better/different than synthetic caffeine in regards to its effects on the body.
Natural caffeine is the 3rd ingredient listed (out of 15 ingredients) so it's presently more than most of the other ingredients. It makes up a good amount of the 1595 mg of total ingredients in the proprietary blend. How much caffeine is in the Thrive Shake? I'm not sure.
The Enzymes
The Thrive shake contains the following enzymes:
- Amylase 5000
- Bromelain 600GDU (GDU=gelatin dissolving units)
- Cellulase 1000
- Lipase 1000
- Papain 6000
- Protease 1000
- Protease 5000
Basically, these are enzymes that break down protein, fat, and carbohydrates. If you are healthy, then I don't think they add anything to the shake. Notice the numbers behind the enzymes. I think adding numbers behind the enzyme names makes the ingredients overly complicated for the average person. I would disregard the numbers.
Other Ingredients
Thrive shake mix also has these other ingredients also
Maltodextrin | Soy protein | Pea protein |
Whey protein concentrate | Cellulose | Sun flower oil |
Natural flavors | Xanthan gum | Sucralose |
Stevia |
Read the table from left to right. Ingredients are often listed from most to least.
Thrive Shake Sweeteners
The “other ingredients” table above, tells us that the sweeteners in the shake are provided by both sucralose (Splenda) and stevia, in that order. The table also tells us there are “natural flavors” present too, but companies don't have to tell us the names of natural flavors so I can't comment on those.
Is It Gluten-Free?
Yes, the Thrive shake mix is gluten-free. That's good for people with gluten intolerance and/or celiac disorder. According to the FDA, gluten-free now means products must contain less than 20 parts per million of gluten to be called “gluten-free.” See the FDA gluten-free rules for more information on this.
Does It Contain Soy?
Yes, the Thrive shake mix has both soy and milk.
Who Makes Thrive Shakes?
The company is called Le-Vel LLC. They are located at 9201 Warren Pkwy #200, Frisco, TX 75035. As I pointed out in my review of Thrive W, this address corresponds to a postal service called “Going Postal.”To contact the Thrive company, call 888-557-0005.
The Better Business Bureau gave Le-Vel LLC a rating of A+ when this review was updated. The Better Business Bureau has had complaints regarding refunds and the creation of accounts. See the BBB file for updates and more information.
SiteJabber, another consumer website gives Le-Vel a rating of 3 out of 5 stars. There were 298 reviews and of those, 126 gave the company 5 stars while 145 gave the company a 1-star rating. See the Sitejabber file for updates and more information.
Thrive Shake Mix Side Effects
I think in healthy people the Thrive shake is safe. Here are some things to consider. This list is not complete:
- Start with less than recommended for the first week to see how you react
- The shake has caffeine. Using the product too close to bedtime might keep you up at night.
- Stop the shake -and all over supplements not prescribed by your doctor – at least 2 weeks before surgery.
- Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Speak to your doctor/pharmacist if you take any medications.
- If you have any liver issues, talk to your pharmacist regarding Garcinia Cambogia.
- See the garcinia Cambogia review for why.
Does The Thrive Shake Work?
The claims made for the Thrive shake mix are pretty vague, which makes answering the “does it work” question difficult to do, but I'll try. Since the shake has protein and fiber, it makes some sense that it would be able to “help support” lean muscle and perhaps maybe weight loss, just as other things protein shakes and fiber would. So, I would not be surprised if some people told me it helped them lose weight.
The bigger question though is does the Thrive shake do it better than other foods/supplements that also have protein and fiber? Without research, I don't think we can say either way.
Do You Have Any Questions?
Samantha says
Joe,
Sorry for the new comment but I couldn’t reply to yours, guess we ran out of room! I personally take the energy + fitness patch. It’s just right for me, it only has the ingredients in it that is needed. None of the extra stuff. If I stopped today, I’d experience no withdraw symptoms. When I start it, I experience no “detox.” There has been no side effects. I like this company because they are very transparent, they explain every ingredient.
It took me awhile to find this company through a lot of research. It’s affordable as well. You can take a small quiz to see which patch is best for you. I’ve had several friends come off of Thrive and all there aches and pains as well as weight returned. With this product, several friends have lost weight, not due to the product, but rather an increased interest in fitness and nutrition.
The pounds began to decrease. With that, they began sleeping better and because they were lighter, most of there aches went away. All of this is no because of a product, but the proper understanding of healthy. This is by no means a sales pitch because I don’t benefit from there sales! And guess what! They actually have a customer service. I look forward to more reviews Joe!
Joe says
Hi Samantha, thanks for sharing that. Happy that you are seeing benefits from it.
Sally says
I took the first pill and shake today and i have a very low tolerance for caffeine and this had me bouncing off of the walls. It also made me feel nauseated after a couple hours.
This product might be fine for me on days where i am physically active, but sitting at a desk job isn’t the right time to try it.
Sean Onslow says
Sally,
There are several healthier ways to get that jolt of energy. Thrive is just a waste of time and money. By including certain foods into your diet you will get that energy that your looking for. Sweet Potatoes, almonds, black beans, apples, bananas, oranges, grape fruit, yogurt, eggs, and spinach are few foods that will give you that extra boost throughout the day. There is no need to rely on a over-hyped product.
Proper nutrition and diet can’t be replaced. If you can, have your doctor test you for any deficiencies that could cause low energy levels. From there see if you can raise those levels through nutrition. If not, take a vitamin/mineral for that specific deficiency. At most you will spend $15 a month on theses vitamins. You can also find USP certified brands, these are tested and analyzed, Unlike Thrive
Chrissy says
Sorry disagree! Not all vitamins are equal. The cheap vitamins out there can take a long time to absorb in your system. Thrive has an extremely fast absorption rate with top of the line quality products.
There is an extensive process that goes into making the products.
Definitely not a waste of money. The stories are huge at the fan fb page Le-Vel. Life changing!
Sean Onslow says
Of course they’re not all equal, I never said that. What I said was, take a vitamin that is USP certified. If you don’t know what that is look it up, they are a nationally recognized company that extensively test and analyzes vitamins/minerals. Only a handful have been able to achieve the certification. The manufacturing plant has to pass strict test as well.
Now tell me, What is the absorption rate of Thrive? What is this extensive process that goes into making Thrive products? Mostly, where is it made? Yes I know Utah, but where specifically.
And lastly, what scientific evidence and test actually show that Le-vel ingredients are truly premium. Just because a company says so? If you could, explain in detail.
Your whole response to my comment is straight out of a Le-vel Promoter handbook, a lot of talk with little detail. I believe in scientific evidence rather than a bunch of mindless stories. 200$ for a vitamin pack is a waste of money, explain to me in detail how taking vitamins can replace proper nutrition. It can’t. And don’t tell me it fills nutritional gaps. You don’t even know what that means, just told to regurgitate it.
Jessica says
I have been on Thrive for about a year, and recently decided to give up dairy. The shake packets list milk as an ingredient, but I am trying to figure out more detail. What kind of milk and how much of it would be helpful. Also, which ingredient listed is a “code name” for milk, if I’m just missing it. Any help regarding this confusion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Joe says
Hi Jessica, I’m not aware of any code names (or alternative words) to indicate the presence of milk. Every time I see it listed, it’s just called “milk.” My guess is if it says its made with milk, that probably refers to cows milk.
Samantha says
What is this stuff? What’s it for?
Joe says
Samantha, you mean the shake? its a weight loss shake. Are you referring to synephrine? It’s a stimulant.
Samantha says
All of the products. What’s the rave about Le-vel?
Joe says
Samantha, I try not to pass judgement. I prefer to present the evidence I can find and let you decide for yourself. Here are my other Thrive Reviews:
Thrive Patch Review
Thrive W (for women)
Samantha says
Joe,
Great reviews. The more I reviewed the less I thought about the company. I just don’t understand why they include all the stimulants, appetite suppressants, inflammation support, sleep aids. This is not needed. I take Refreshing. Its a vitamin patch also, just without the extra baggage. It’s not MLM but an actual company. You could really hurt yourself with this stuff.
People who take cortisone shots for pain don’t take them because it cures them, they take it to mask the pain. That’s all this product is doing. I love the idea of all the vitamins, but come on! Your just hurting yourself in the long run. I read on one of your other pages that they have reworded a few ingredients, this is crazy!
Also, it seems that any issues that come up with the patch, there is some far fetched excuse. On the Refreshinq website, it truthfully list any complication that could arise with the patch. If something happens they would like you to contact them. Le-vel doesn’t do this, they hide behind there promoters excuses it seems like. I’m glad I found your website. I hope others will find it as useful as I did.
Joe says
Thanks Samantha, until you mentioned it I wasn’t aware of the Refreshinq company. I checked them out. I noticed their weight loss patch also has cosmoperine which is the stuff said to drive the other ingredients into the skin (Thrive Patch has it too).
Sarah says
It actually is not a weight loss shake. It’s part of a 3 step system. A lot people (people who need to) gain weight.
Joe says
Hi Sarah, with respect it only has 110 calories. That says to me it’s more for weight loss than anything else.
Christie says
It’s not a meal replacement. You can eat breakfast as well. After doing your 3 steps
Joe says
Hi Christie, well if its not a meal replacement and its not a weight loss shake, then what is it? 🙂
Bc says
Morning on shake mix. By accident mixed it with peppermint tea. The heat made the shake smooth and good. Tastes like green tea ice cream .
Not sure if hear from a Keurig will harm anything .
No idea how to use any of it because thrive did not come with and instructions which is frustrating .
damon says
i dont understand all these people who want to gag at the taste. i use this as my first meal in my intermittent fasting program with only water, i also consume an apple along side it, it doesn’t taste bad nor good to me just like slightly sweet fatty water, but maybe im just used to eating bland food from body building. take the vitamins when i wake up about 6 hours before the shake and slap on the patch after i get out of the shower from the gym, still fasted. no trouble sleeping no jitters, although sometimes if i take the black label more potent ones i do notice a little bit of nervous energy if im just sitting around.
Melissa Wickemeyer says
A spoonful (or two) of sugar free instant pudding mix and using coconut/amond milk has made all the difference in the world for me! I HATED the shakes before, and I too would gag every time. Now just adding the pudding mix hides thst grainy taste and makes it SO smooth! I actually enjoy seeing what flavor combos I can come up with next 🙂
Joe says
Hi Melissa, that’s very interesting. I didn’t try the shake mix but the recipes remind me of Shakeology (which I did try). Those drinking Shakeolgy were also coming up with all sorts of recipes too. Here’s my shakeology review.
NewTHRIVER says
Why do you think they want you to drink shake after taking capsule? Why 20-40 mins later? And it’s a must! 1-2-3 step. Does the shake help the capsule ? Why take shake 2 hours later? It’s still going in your body? The capsules have enough crap in it alone.
Brie says
the Capsules are time released. If you take it to soon or to late than your not going to get the reaction they want. What that reaction is im not sure yet.
Joe says
Hi Brie, How soon is “too soon” and late is too late?
Ameenah says
Hi I’m on week 3 of my 8 week Thrive Challenge, I took it as directed
My day starts at 2:45am
Pills on empty stomach (before I even get out of bed) I used the 40 minutes to get as much water in me as possible.
40 mins after I make my shake, which I put frozen pineapple, carrots, apples and avocado in it with water..drink that… then I put my patch on.
After that I eat 2 egg whites, 2 cups of sauteed spinach, 1 piece of Turkey sausage to complete my breakfast. This is all by 7am
I work 10hrs per day at a sit down job, I’m 44 and have been diagnosed with Fibro … by 11am I’m walking circles around the perimeter of my office building… I get in about 2k steps every time I do it.
The 1st thing I noticed was the ENERGY… I’m very sensitive to caffeine supplements, I never liked them because of how they bring you up and then drop you or you crash… the energy I have it builds from the moment you take the pills …and slowly releases me at the end of the day.
2nd thing I noticed is that I had to force myself to eat the little bit of food I had portioned for myself. Never have I had a supposed appetite suppressant work so well…the first week it was a chore, but I got the hang of it.
3rd, the 1st week I felt absolutely amazing… (considering I’m on FMLA for Fibro) at the start of week 2 I got a cold so I stopped taking Thrive… it took about 4-5 days for me to feel the effects of not taking my Thrive…every ache and pain I had came back full force. Once I started back up the relief was immediate.
Lastly,
I have since found that I can stretch my supplements by taking them only M-Thur (the days I actually work) and have enough built up in my system to still function actually pretty darn good… I did 10k steps without pills/shake/patch on the weekend.
I’d rather invest in Thrive than invest in High blood pressure and diabetes medicines, which is where I was heading before I decided to take the 8 week challenge. I also have weight loss surgery scheduled but I wanted to see what I could do for myself before going under the knife.
My starting weight at 1/23/17 was 264, I’m down to 239lbs with the help of Thrive and portion control of my food. The only knife I will be going under is to get this skin together when I lose this weight . I was really scared to have bariatric surgery and I feel confident in saying I don’t have to as Thrive is working for me!
Thank you for your review Joe as it helps me familiarize myself with this product.
Joe says
Hi Ameenah, you are very welcome and thanks for sharing. I’m happy you are losing weight and hope things continue to go well for you. I hope you will keep us all posted on your progress.
connie myer says
I was given the 3 day sample of the 3 step system. Made the mistake of taking 2 pills the first day and mixing full packet of the shake, then putting on the patch. Big mistake. Feel sick to my stomach and very jittery. Hoping tomorrow is better when I cut back to 1 pill and 1/2 packet of shake.
Joe says
Connie, for what its worth I would not take both at the same time if you are not used to it. Start with least amount you can when you take a new supplement for the first time to reduce side effects. I hope you feel better soon.
Judith says
And once you are used to it and decide to come off, watch out for the caffeine withdrawal symptoms!
Helen says
I have had just the shakes for seven months now (my aunt orders the whole system but she doesn’t like the shakes, so she gives them to me). I can’t tell a big difference in my weight, but I have been sleeping better and I have more energy than normal since I started using them. I mix the shake with ice and milk to make a smoothie and have it for lunch everyday.
Erin says
Was told by customer support that the shakes have 25 milligrams of caffeine in them.
Joe says
Hi Erin, thanks for that information. I didn’t know that.
Amy says
The shakes have a manufactured date but not an expiration date. How long are the good for?
Joe says
Hi Amy, my guess is that would depend on how it was stored. Make sure to store it in a cool, dry place. You might want to ask the person who sold it to you. They can look into your question about the expiration date.
Ashley says
I can’t stand the frothiness of the lifestyle mix. I gag when I drink it. I’ve drank it with milk, water, even added it to my yogurt. Can’t stand it. Do any of y’all have any tips for that??
Other than that I really like thrive!
Erin says
I really liked it with Silk almond milk
cassie Rider says
Add ice and use 10-12 oz of milk.I also pop in a bananna
Debbie says
I put a couple tablespoons of peanut butter in mine with crushed ice and one cup of almond milk. You have to blend it. I use my Magic Bullet and it’s an awesome breakfast.
I’ve also used frozen fruit instead of ice, and “all fruit” bars. My favorite is a coconut fruit bat with frozen pineapples then add a pinã colada Activate pack with the shake mix (I only use half a shake mix). Instant Pinã Colada…for BREAKFAST! ?
Amber says
I mix the vanilla with Tropicana 50..or whatever low calorie OJ i can find. I absolutely love it. Only way i will drink it.
Debbie Owens says
I make a shake with a banana and liquid flavored coffee creamer and whole milk. Taste great!
Jerri Carver says
Do you have to take the vitamins use the patch and do the shakes together or can you only do one with the same results and what is the right way to do all of them if you use together or only do one I was given some samples 4 patches 3packs vitamins and 2 packs of shakes do not know how to use
Joe says
Hi Jerri, if I can toss in my 2 cents, why don’t you just start with one of them to see how you do. After a week, add in something else, if you feel you need it.
Jerri Carver says
Do you take only 1 vitamin a day in the morning there are 3 in a pack if I take 3 a day and only have 3 packs that is only enough for 3 days I can not see that being enough to show me any results
Joe says
Hi Jerri, I’m of the opinion that its best to start with the least amount for the first week to see how you respond.
Gwynn Combs says
Thrive is a 3 step system. I like to explain it like this: if you make a cake you need 3 ingredients, mix, milk, and eggs. You can just add eggs and it will come out as something but it will not be a cake. You need all 3 ingredients to get optimal results. I do capsules first thing in the morning, 20 minutes later drink the shake and apply the dft patch. This gives me sustained energy all day and I sleep sounder as well. I’m happier and it just takes the edge off. I have 5 kids, 3 are teenagers I definitely noticed a difference in dealing with them. I feel all 3 steps are vital in getting the results you want.
cassie Rider says
Before you roll out of bed in the morning, on a empty stomach, take your capsules with water.30-40 minutes later make your shake ( I use 10-12 oz of milk, banana, ice and chocolate peanut butter powder/peanut butter powder 2 tablespoons and use a blender.
Chrysta Bates says
I actually love the taste of the vanilla shakes. I’m just drinking the shakes bc I like them. Do you think it’s safe to drink for breakfast and lunch?
Joe says
Hi Chrysta, overall I dont see an issue if you are healthy. just know that any weight loss that occurs is because you are eating fewer calories at breakfast and lunch. It’s the same idea of drinking any low calorie meal replacement shake for breakfast and lunch. Hope that helps.
Me says
If you are also taking the pills be careful of the huge overdose of the RDA of some vitamins……but yeah, the shakes are kinda addictive 🙂
cassie Rider says
Yes. Try adding a banana and/or Peanut butter powder to it 2 tablespoons with Ice
Sheila Greenwalt says
I just want to point out that the correct way to use Thrive is first thing in the morning 2 pills then 20 min later the shake that works in conjuction with the pills then the patch which delivers all day nutriants and energy. Most report better sleep as the first thing they notice.
Joe says
Hi Sheila, just curious, how do we know that is the correct way? I mean is there any clinical proof that this is the correct and best way?
mb says
Just a question… I see on the website the shake canister comes in 16 servings but I also read your supposed to use it daily. does one canister not last the full month?
MAc says
You are only supposed to use the shakes Mon thru Friday, on the weekends you are supposed to eat a meal.
virginia says
I use the shakes mon – thurs and eat meals the other 3 days, take the pills first thing and I only use half the shake packet with milk. I put the patch after my morning shower. its working for me.. I feel more energy and I am sleeping better.
Andrea says
Joe,
I have been on the Thrive routine for a little less than a month. Started at 252 lbs and am down about 10lbs since I began. However, I am still looking critically at the whole setup.
I appreciate your reviews because they seem so balanced. I use A21 Milk to make my shakes because of it’s claims on being a more digestible protein and I’ve had problems with regular dairy in the past…do you have any reviews on the claims made by A21 milk?
Thanks!
Joe says
Hi Andrea, Thanks. I have not heard of A21 milk. Either way, I’m happy that you are losing weight and wish you much success moving forward with it.
kayla says
I just started thrive. This is day 4 for me. The shake is disgusting. I’ve tried it with water, skim milk, and almond milk. I gag Every time and it makes me feel sick. I’m not sure I can keep doing the shakes. Anybody else have this issue?
Anne Lyon says
Try it in a smoothie with milk and frozen fruit. Pretty good!
Michelle says
The only way that I can tolerate these shakes is to add sugar free coffee syrups (coconut is the best ) and then I can drink it. I add the shake, water, ice and about 3 TBS of sugar free syrups. Yes it adds chemicals but limited to no calories.
Sarah says
Thank you for your many amazing articles. When you create one that mixes all of your thoughts together on personal best choice, let me know 🙂
Joe says
Hi Sarah, Thank you so much 🙂
DJ says
I have incorporated the Thrive shakes into my weight loss program after comparing them to a highly rated weight loss shake product. It helped to curb hunger feelings and gave me an added boost. The Thrive products are easily digestible and along with a high protein low carb diet aided in my weight loss. I have quit drinking coffee all together and do not crave soda or caffeine. Definitely worth a try!
Phil says
That’s awesome DJ. But, caffeine is in the shake as the 3rd ingredient so you are still getting caffeine.
Jessica says
I’m on week 10 of taking level women’s capsules, shake mix, DFT patch. I have not lost any weight but have been on an intense workout routine resulting in muscle mass. I do believe the level system I’m using is aiding me in building muscle, reduced fatigue during workouts, eliminates the need for a post workout drink after weight lifting due to the Willow Bark extract which reduces inflammation aiding in pain relief.
I would not recommend this for anyone not on an exercise routine, would be a waste of money.
Jessica Ray says
On my first day of just samples I already lost a pound. So far that’s awesome because I struggle to lose weight so much that I have to barely eat to get anywhere with it. I think this works. 🙂 Btw the white shake mix which smells like vanilla, “the premium lifestyle mix” is the best tasting one Ive had so far. The chocolate is ok but not that great.

I totally agree with Jessica…I had a sample pack as well and although I did not weigh myself before taking I have lost 4 pounds since the last time I weighed myself a month ago. This is by far the best tasting mix I have ever had and trust me I have tried several in these last few months! I drank it at lunch and I honestly believe it helped suppress my appetite for the day because I wasn’t hungry until bed time.
