Updated November 4 2024. Can SeroVital Hair Regeneres regenerate your hair? That's what's implied by the word regeneres. But more than this, SeroVital Hair Regeneres claims to grow hair and restore hair color and volume, making your hair thicker and fuller. These are VERY bold claims, and that is why I wanted to review them. So, Does SeroVital Hair Regeneres work or is it a scam? This review will focus on the biggest claims -growing hair and reversing gray hair. I'll look at the research the company provides and also try to figure out what the key ingredients might be. Does it work? Let's see what we can discover.
Hair Regeneres Claims
The claims for this product are pretty bold. On the website (SVHairRegeneres.com) it's said the product can:
- Reverse graying hair
- Regrow younger, fuller hair
Does it do work? Let's look at the ingredients and the research next.
Hair Regeneres Ingredients
The system consists of 2 different products:
- Hair Regeneres Supplement
- Hair Regeneres Serum
Here are the ingredients in both products:
Hair Regeneres Supplement Ingredients
Each package contains a 30-day supply.
Two SeroVital Hair Renewal Softgels contain the following ingredients.

In the table above % DV = Percent Daily Value. N/A = no daily value is known
Other Ingredients
The hair re-growth supplement has these other ingredients too:
Safflower oil, capsule shell [gelatin, glycerin, water, caramel (color)], yellow beeswax, and sunflower lecithin. These additional ingredients play no role in the results of the supplement.
Hair Regeneres Serum Ingredients
Here are the ingredients in the growth serum
Water | Alcohol |
Butylene Glycol | Acetyl Hexapeptide-1 |
Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1 | Apigenin |
Raspberry Ketone | Oleanolic Acid |
Dextran | Glycerin |
PPG-26-Buteth-26 | Carbomer |
Ethylhexylglycerin | Potassium Sorbate |
Phenoxyethanol | Sodium Hydroxide |
Fragrance |
Read this table from left to right. This will tell you which ingredient is present the most. For example, water is listed first so it makes up most of the hair growth serum. Fragrance makes up the least since it is listed last.
The serum contains an ingredient called acetyl hexapeptide-1 (also called Melitane). The company which makes Melitane –Lucas Meyer Company – states the substance can stimulate melanin production. Acetyl Hexapeptide-1 is found in some anti-gray shampoos. Melitane sounds like melanin, the dark pigment in hair and skin.
The hair-thickening serum also contains raspberry ketones. While this is a dubious weight loss aid, at least one small study has noted hair growth after 5 months of use. Raspberry ketones promoted hair growth in 50% of the people it was given to.
While 50% sounds impressive, this study only had 10 people, so it only worked in 5 of them. This study was published in 2008. Since then, I'm surprised nobody else has retested raspberry ketones for hair growth.

Hair Regeneres Supplement Research
OK, let's talk about the research on this stuff. On the website SVHairRegeneres.com the company mentions two clinical studies of the hair regrowth supplement. They are simply listed as:
- Study 1
- Study 2
Let's give a summary of each study and my thoughts on them:
Study 1
This study lasted 120 days. In this investigation, 94% of people rated the key ingredient in the SeroVital Hair Renewal supplements as “Good to Excellent.” In addition, it's said:
- 87% agreed hair was less gray
- 91% saw more resistant hair
- 91% experienced less hair shedding
- 88% saw more hair growth
- 88% agreed they experienced brighter, more radiant hair
- 87% noticed improved hair volume
Potential Problems With Study 1
There are 3 potential problems with this study as I see it:
- This study may not be published in a medical/science journal. I called SeroVital customer service (who were very nice, BTW), but they could not tell me if it was published.
- They don't tell us how many people were in the study. Was it 10 or 100? Generally, the more, the better.
- Having no placebo group weakens this study.
- What's the key ingredient?
Study 2
This investigation lasted 90 days and was a placebo-controlled study (the best kind!). It's said 95.8% of people saw an improvement in the appearance of their hair compared to the placebo. They go on to say people also experienced:
- Less shedding and hair fall
- Improved brightness and luster
- Improved growth of existing hair
- Significantly strengthened hair
- Reduced hair breakage
This study corresponds to “Beer, C., W. S, and R.H. Veghte. Hindawi, 2014.” Searching online takes us to this investigation. Here's a summary of what happened:
- 50 women (age 41-70 years old) were given a placebo or 500 mg of a keratin supplement for 90 days
- The supplement was called Cynatine HNS, made by a company called Roxlor Global, LLC
- People took 2 Cynnatine HNS capsules (or placebo) per day (500 mg per day total)
Results: People taking cynatine HNS had better hair and nail results than the placebo group.
Potential Problems With Study 2
- It only involved women (no men)
What Is Cynatine HNS?
Cynatine HNS is one of the key ingredients in the Hair Regeneres supplement. It is the specific ingredient mentioned in study #2 (see the previous section).
On the ingredients list, they call it “Chromaviv Bioactive Keratin Peptides.” Both names refer to keratin, a key protein in hair, skin, and nails. Keratin is a source of the amino acid cysteine.
In the Cynatine HNS study, it was speculated the cysteine in keratin would ramp up glutathione production and improve our antioxidant defenses. The keratin in Cynatine HNS comes from Zealand sheep wool. The “HNS” refers to Hair, Nails and Skin.
From the study we learn each 1 Cynatine HNS capsule is made up of :
- 250 mg Cynatine (keratin)
- 7.5 mg zinc
- 9.0 mg vitamin B3
- 0.825 mg copper
- 6.84 mg vitamin B5
- 1.0 mg vitamin B6
- 0.150 mg vitamin B8 (Biotin)
To be fair, 2 capsules of Hair Regeneres provide all the vitamins and minerals you see here. That's good.
Who Makes Hair Regeneres?
SanMedica International LLC is located at 5742 W Harold Gatty Dr, Salt Lake City, UT 84116-3777. It is the same company that makes the HGH supplement SeroVital.
The Better Business Bureau did not have a rating for SanMedica when this review was updated.
SanMedica shares its address with 2 other companies:
- Basic Research LLC
- LimitLess WorldWide LLC
I believe these are different names for the same company.
See the SeroVital review for more information.
Contact Hair Regeneres
The customer service # is 800-898-5153. They can be reached Monday-Friday 7:00 AM-6:00 PM MT
Saturday 8:00 AM-4:00 PM MT. I've called them. Their customer support was very helpful. I did not feel pressured to buy anything when I called.
How Much Does Hair Regeneres Cost?
This product is sold as a combination of 2 products:
- hair regrowth supplement
- hair thickening serum
A 30-day supply of both is:
- $99 / month (no auto-ship)
- $72.20 /month with auto-shipments.
If you decide to get automatic shipments, they will send you a fresh 30-day supply of both products each month.
There is a promotional offer of $59 with the auto-ship program. This offer may or not be valid when you read this. When in doubt, check out their website.
Where Can You Buy Hair Regeneres?
You can order it directly from the company website SVHairRegeneres.com. It may also be on Amazon too. I have not yet seen it in stores like Target, Bed Bath and Beyond or Walmart. But, since Serovital is sold in stores, it's possible their hair supplement/ serum might eventually be too.
Hair Regeneres Guarantee
Both products come with a 30-day money-back guarantee. The 30 days begin when you receive the products—not when you order them. That's a good thing. I appreciated the company giving you more time to try them out. Products are usually shipped within 24 hours of ordering and can take 5-10 business days to reach you.
Before returning products, call customer service at 800-898-5153. You must obtain a Return Authorization Number (RMA Number) before sending products back. This number needs to appear outside the package you are returning. Returns are to be sent to the following address.
ATTN: Returns Dept.
5742 Harold Gatty Drive
Salt Lake City, UT 84116
Again, make sure you call customer service first. They will tell you everything needed if you return the products.
Hair Regeneres FAQ
1 How Do You Use It?
The company recommends taking 2 of the hair supplements with breakfast. They also recommend applying one dropper of the serum to the scalp at night and gently massaging it into the scalp. Both SeroVital products can be used each day.
2 Do You Have To Buy Both Products?
Yes. this is a package deal. You cannot just purchase the regrowth serum or the supplement. When I called the company I was told both products complement each other. To be fair though, evidence to prove both work better together could not be located.
3 Could You Just Use Cynatine HNS?
I think this is an option. Recall from above one of the studies (study 2) was on the Cyanthine HNS supplement. Without proof Hair Regeneres works better than Cynthine HNS, I think you could definitely do this.
4 Does Hair Regeneres Contain SeroVital?
No. SeroVital HGH has different ingredients than the hair supplements and hair serums. SeroVital HGH is a different product touted to raise growth hormone levels. SeroVital HGH is not a hair growth supplement.
5 Can Men Use It?
The company says both men and women can use this supplement. Interestingly, the study of Cynthine HNS (the key ingredient in this supplement) only involved women.
6 What Is Chromaviv?
To be honest, I'm not sure. On the supplement ingredients list, it's called Chromaviv Bioactive Keratin Peptides. But wait, isn't this also Cyanthine HNS? How can it be both keratin and Chromaviv?
The website says Chromaviv is “a compound rich in melanin that leads to lush regrowth of your natural hair color.”
As proof it reverses gray hair, a press release tells us about a 150-day study of 30 men and women. But, I can't determine if this is a peer-reviewed study. That's a problem.
We are also told the people in this study “received free product and were compensated for their time and travel.” For me, that's a problem too.
Equally confusing is at the bottom of SVHairRegeneres.com, they mention a 180-day study. 180 days? Which is it -150 days or 180 days?
The bottom line is that Chromaviv is an invented word. Other than that, I'm not sure what it is.
7 Does It Reverse Gray Hair?
The hair renewal serum contains an ingredient called Acetyl Hexapeptide-1 (also called Melitane). Various websites say Acetyl Hexapeptide-1 can stimulate melanin production in hair and skin. Clinical evidence to support this claim cannot be located. Could Acetyl Hexapeptide-1 be the active ingredient in the Hair Regeneres Serum?
Acetyl Hexapeptide-1 is not the same thing as Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (Argireline), a science-based anti-wrinkle cream.
The only other evidence for the reversal of gray hair seemed to be the study of 30 people described previously, which lasted for 150 days (or 180 days – I can't tell which). Either way, you slice it, this study does not appear to be published in medical /science journals. If this is true, it's a problem in my opinion.
8 How Long Does It Take To Work?
I called the company about this. They told me the products should take about 60 days to work. They said the best results would be seen after 120 days. Remember, Hair Regeneres only comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Hair Regeneres Vs. Competition
Here's a quick rundown of how Hair Regeneres compares to other hair products
1 Hair Regeneres vs. Pseudocatalase
Pseudocatalase (also called PC-KU) is a cream that appears to restore skin color. This effect has been demonstrated in people with a skin problem called Vitiligo. Pseudocatalase works by reducing hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), a free radical compound that also can cause our hair to turn white too.
While this is interesting, the research so far is on skin – not hair. Also, if it's going to work, it seems sunlight is needed. There is no pseudocatalase in Hair Regeneres and no studies have compared them to each other.
2 Hair Regeneres vs. Remenix
Reminix is a gray hair vitamin supplement that shares some ingredients with Viviscal and Hair Regeneres, such as biotin. In addition, Remenix also contains catalase, an enzyme that can break up hydrogen peroxide.
Remember, hydrogen peroxide build up in hair can contribute to white/gray hair. As logical as this may sound, I'm skeptical of catalase supplements for reversing gray hair because I have yet to see proof it works.
3 Hair Regeneres vs. Amplixin
Amplixin is a hair growth system. There are many different Amplixin products. Until the SeroVital Hair products, Amplixin is only touted to grow hair you have. It's not promoted to restore hair color or help nails grow either.
4 Hair Regeneres vs. Viviscal
Viviscal is one of the best-known hair growth supplements. Viviscal has been around for many years and one of the things which set it apart is there are published clinical studies showing it seems to work in some people. This is different from the studies for the SeroVital hair system, whose studies are not published in medical journals.
Viviscal is not promoted to restore hair color and it has very different ingredients than the SeroVital hair supplement. No study has compared either of these supplements to each other.
5 Hair Regeneres vs. Nutrafol
Nutrafol is another popular supplement for growing hair. At least one published study has shown Nutrafol might work. The ingredients in nutrafol are different than Hair Regeneres and no study has compared them to each other.
6 Hair Regeneres vs. Hair Rush
Hair Rush is one of the most popular supplements on Amazon with thousands of reviews. The Hair Rush supplement does contain the Cynnatine keratin ingredient but It appears SeroVital provides more of it.
Hair Rush also contains other ingredients similar to other hair supplements such as saw palmetto and biotin. Does that make it better? Not necessarily.
7 Hair Regeneres vs. Castor Oil
On various websites, castor oil has become a very popular hair growth and eyelash supplement. I have looked the research and really can't find any for it, although I have seen pictures which I'll just say are interesting. If castor oil works, I wonder if it just adds thickness to the hair shaft? One advantage of castor oil is it's not expensive to try.
8 How Does It Compare To Minoxidil?
Minoxidil is an FDA-approved drug for growing hair. While it's far from perfect, multiple clinical studies show it can help some people. Minoxidil does not restore hair color. Rather, it's only for regrowth. There is no Minoxidil in Hair Regeneres and so far no studies have compared them to each other.
My Suggestions
For those tempted to purchase this product and can afford it, I suggest you take before-and-after pictures. That's the best way to know for sure. The company says it may take 4 months before you notice any difference.
Hair Regeneres Side Effects & Negative Reactions
I believe Hair Regeneres is safe for most people. I don't think the hair renewal serum would be a problem. To be safe, use on a small patch of the scalp first to see how you react. As for the supplement, here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Stop taking the supplement at least 2 weeks before having surgery
- Talk to your doctor first if you take any medications, such as blood thinners
- Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant /breastfeeding
- Start with less than is recommended for the first week to see how you respond
What I Liked And Didn't Like
Here's a quick rundown of what I feel are some of the pros and cons of Hair Regeneres:
Pro | Con |
Company has been around many years | Expensive |
Company has a good BBB rating | Must purchase both products |
No-pressure customer support staff | Appears to lack published clinical studies on the products |
Unique Ingredients |
Does Hair Regeneres Work?
This Hair Regeneres review contained a lot of information but the real question is whether it works or not. While I admit to being skeptical, I can't say either way. While the company has some research showing it works, I prefer to see published clinical research. I don't -yet- see that level of proof. If it does work, I think results will vary according to how much hair you have and how gray your hair is.
