As you may know, for several years, I've been providing unbiased reviews of supplements on my site Supplement-Geek.com. As you may also know, I’ve been having some issues with another website over the name “supplement geek.” Because of all the drama surrounding this, I’ve decided to make a change. Moving forward, my website will be called SupplementClarity.com. Let me now discuss why I decided to make this sea change, why I feel good about it and my plans for the future.
What Happened?
I was involved in a trademark dispute with another website. To make a long story short, we locked horns – or rather our attorneys did. This went on for several months.
Why Did you Change The Name?
Ultimately, I decided battling someone over two words just wasn't worth it. So, in the immortal words of Queen Elsa of Frozen, I decided to Let it go.
A big reason for me doing this was family and friends who repeatedly told me the same thing: people do not come to my site because of a cute-sounding name. They don’t come here looking for the “geek.” They come here because of me – Joe Cannon.
I’ve been in the supplement investigation business since the 1990s – long before people had websites.
When I realized this, it was easier to make this course change.
Why Supplement Clarity?
I wanted the new name to mean something. I chose the Supplement Clarity because it describes what I do. I reveal and make clear the science of supplements, what they do and don’t do, their side effects, lesser expensive alternatives, and even the companies that make supplements.
I help you become clearer about what you put into your body.
I don’t think I ever conveyed this well as “the geek.”
Also, notice there is “dash” between the words anymore. It’s now all one word: SupplementClarity.com
I was never a fan of the dash, so this is a welcomed change.
What’s The Future Hold?
Before all this drama came up, I was in the process of taking the site to the next level. The first thing is my website will soon look different and more professional. I have some other things in mind too, which I’ll discuss as they get closer to fruition.
What stays the same: My 100% unbiased reviews of supplements. I have MANY reviews planned and I’m not slowing down. I’m really picking up speed.
