In this review, we'll separate fact from fiction, delve into the ingredients and research, and help you decide if Java Burn is right for you. Plus, discover how to get a refund if needed. What Is Java Burn?

Black coffee was probably the original weight loss supplement and pre-workout supplement, too, but since we live in a world where science marches forward, Java Burn could be considered the next generation of coffee. You can tell from the word “burn” that this is a fat burner/weight loss supplement containing coffee ingredients that are supposed to ramp up metabolism. While the name “java” is in the name, realize it can be added to coffee, tea or other hot or cold beverages, although its ingredients may be expected to work best/synergistically with coffee.

What Are The Metabolic Benefits of Java Burn?

Java Burn official: Your coffee. Your metabolism. Made Better

According to the official website, the supplement is said to:

However, is there any proof for these results? For the moment, this is unknown as it appears the JavaBurn supplement lacks clinical support. In other words, research on the Java Burn supplement could not be located. But this does not mean it doesn't work. To better understand its effectiveness, we need to look at the clinical research on its ingredients.

What Are The Ingredients In Java Burn

The supplement facts label tells us that each packet (2.5 grams) has these ingredients:

Amount Percent Daily Value
Calories 15
Total Carbs 2g
Vitamin D 20 mcg 100%
Vitamin B6 1 mg 59%
Vitamin B12 5 mcg 208%
Chromium 20 mcg 57%
Green tea leaf extract 300 mg
Green coffee bean extract 200 mg
L-carnitine 100 mg
L theanine 100 mg

Other ingredients that play no role in how well the supplement works are maltodextrin, natural flavors, and calcium silicate.

Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) 20 mcg

Many people might not have enough vitamin D, which is important for our health. Luckily, the supplement gives you all the vitamin D you need in a day. People who are often low in vitamin D include those who are overweight, older, or live in places like Canada, where there isn't much sunlight.

Vitamin D acts more like a hormone than a typical vitamin, and it does a lot of things in our bodies. Some studies suggest that having low levels of vitamin D might make it more likely for someone to be overweight. In one study, women who were overweight and took a high dose of vitamin D ( 50,000 IU) lost more weight than those who didn't take it. That's promising, but the supplement we're talking about here doesn't have as much vitamin D as in that study. Also, not every study agrees that vitamin D helps with losing weight.

The supplement uses a type of vitamin D called cholecalciferol, which our bodies make when we're in the sunlight. Some people think vitamin D3 is better than vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol), but both types probably work the same way in our bodies.

Vitamin B6 (Perioxidine Hydrochloride) 1 mg

Like all of the 8 different B vitamins, B6 plays a role in burning fat and carbs, which is all good, but can this vitamin promote weight loss? Some research suggests it might. In the body, pyridoxine hydrochloride is converted to the active form called pyridoxal phosphate (PLP).

In one study, researchers observed that higher PLP levels were associated with greater weight loss in women who ate fewer calories. However, other research shows vitamin B6 does not help people slim down. The amount in the JavaBurn supplement is 1 mg of peroxide hydrochloride, which is 59% of the Daily Value.

Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin) 5 mcg

Vitamin B12 has a long history of being known for helping with fat burning, and some weight loss clinics even use injections of this vitamin. If you take the recommended amount of JavaBurn, you get 5 micrograms of methyl B12, which is 208% of what you need.

There are four types of vitamin B12, and two of them, methylcobalamin and cyanocobalamin, are commonly found in supplements. The main difference is that methylcobalamin has a methyl group instead of a cyano group. Also, sunlight breaks down methylcobalamin more easily. Contrary to some beliefs, vitamin B12 doesn't have cyanide in it.

All forms of vitamin B12 help make more red blood cells and reduce anemia, along with folic acid and iron. But for it to work, your body needs a substance called intrinsic factor, made in the stomach. People over 50 might produce less intrinsic factor, putting them at risk of a B12 deficiency.

Those who've had weight loss surgery may also lack B12. Chewing the vitamin or placing it under the tongue can help it get into the bloodstream without going through the stomach. Unlike other B vitamins, our bodies store B12 so well that it could take 1-2 years to become deficient.

Methylcobalamin might be better than cyanocobalamin in treating chronic pain. Some researchers believe that methyl B12 can help with pain from conditions like diabetic neuropathy.

Chromium (chromium chloride) 20 mcg

Chromium is an essential trace mineral that helps regulate blood sugar spikes. As such, some people with type II diabetes may be taking chromium supplements. While chromium picolinate and chromium polynicotinate are popular forms of this mineral, the JavaBurn uses chromium chloride. Chromium Chloride and the other forms are referred to as chelated minerals. Combining inorganic chromium with an organic substance, like chloride, increases the mineral's absorption into the body.

For decades, chromium has enjoyed a weight loss reputation. While some restudies have indeed found chromium supplements work, other research investigations have found the opposite – chromium does not burn fat or sleep waistlines. Controversies aside, the ingredient makes sense for those with prediabetes, metabolic syndrome, and high blood sugar levels.  The JavaBurn company provides 20 mg of this mineral, which is 57% of the recommended amount.

Green Tea Leaf Extract 300 mg

Green tea contains vitamins, minerals, and active substances like caffeine, catechins (such as EGCG), L-theanine, and chlorophyll. Many believe it may aid in weight loss, although scientists are still investigating its effectiveness in this area.

Some research suggests that the catechins and caffeine in green tea might stimulate the production of a special type of fat called brown fat, which burns more calories. This is promising! However, one study found that green tea only led to a small amount of weight loss in overweight women. On the other hand, when researchers analyzed multiple studies together, they discovered that green tea extract containing caffeine helped people lose around 4 pounds more than those who didn't take it.

More research found that a particular green tea extract called EGCG can increase how much energy the body uses, especially in men exposed to cold. But not all studies agree that green tea helps with losing weight. The issue with JavaBurn is that it says it has green tea leaf extract, but it doesn't say which one. Does it have the good stuff, like EGCG? That's unclear.

Green Coffee (coffee arabica) Bean Extract 200 mg

This is another potential problem with JavaBurn. While we are told the supplement uses coffee arabica, the Supplement Facts label does not specify which extract of green coffee is in Java Burn.  The beans of coffee contain many bioactive substances. Which extract does this supplement contain? Could the exact be caffeine or chlorogenic acid, both of which are popular with coffee-derived slimming ingredients and metabolism boosters?

Regardless of the extract used, various clinical studies have revealed both positive and negative results from the green coffee extract. Some research hints that chlorogenic acids might increase fat burning after eating a meal. But burning fat does not necessarily mean it helps people lose weight.

Can green coffee extract help slim down waistlines? According to one study, overweight men and women who drank 6 oz of chlorogenic acid-rich coffee for 12 weeks weighed less and had lower abdominal fat, visceral fat, and reduced waist circumference than those who did not drink coffee. Contrasting this are other investigations finding green coffee might not work.

Green Coffee Bean Compounds Health Benefits

Coffea arabica and robusta account for much of the coffee consumed but many other species exist, including C. excelsa and C. liberica. Coffee is a source of a wide range of bioactive compounds that are still being studied for their health effects. Some of those compounds include:

Compound Action
Polyphenols antioxidant
Quinine antioxidant
Caffeine stimulant /possible memory enhancer/may help Parkinson's disease
Chlorogenic acids antioxidant/may  lower cholesterol and blood sugar levels
Cafestol may suppress bile acids
Caffeic acid antioxidant/anti-inflammatory effects/ may block cancer

Coffee & Diabetes

Coffee has a wide range of health benefits

When researchers look at large groups of people, they often find those who drink coffee have a lower chance of developing type II diabetes, the most common form of this metabolic disorder. Drinking as little as 1 cup a day might reduce diabetes risk by almost 10%. Drinking 3 cups daily is associated with a 25% reduction in diabetes. In those who have type II diabetes, coffee also seems to reduce the risk of dying from the disorder.

Coffee Beans vs. Coffee Cherry

Coffee beans are contained inside the coffee cherry. Coffee cherry, also called coffee fruit, is rumored to be a memory enhancer due to research showing it appears to raise phosphatidylserine and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), a substance that helps grow brain cells. As such, it's found in some nootropic memory booster dietary supplements.

Coffee Weight Loss Research

Great news for coffee lovers! Some studies suggest that drinking coffee might give you a boost in burning fat and losing weight. In one study, people who drank 4 cups of coffee a day lost 3.7% more body fat than those who didn't drink coffee.

There's also early research showing that certain things in coffee called mannooligosaccharides could help with weight loss. Men who had a drink with mannooligosaccharides lost more weight than those who didn't. Interestingly, though, it didn't seem to work the same way for women.

Another good thing in coffee is chlorogenic acid, found in both green coffee beans and regular coffee beans. Some think it could help with weight loss, and that might be why JavaBurn has green coffee extract. However, it's worth noting that when coffee beans are roasted, the chlorogenic acids decrease.

So, if you enjoy your coffee, there's a chance it could give you a little help in losing weight!

L Carnitine 100 mg

L-carnitine is a type of amino acid that our kidneys and liver naturally produce. To make it inside our bodies, we need niacin and vitamin C. If you want to get it from food, good sources include milk, cheese, beef, chicken, turkey, and fish. People are interested in L-carnitine for weight loss because it helps move fatty acids to the mitochondria, where they get broken down to make energy. Basically, L-carnitine helps us burn fat.

Several studies found that L-carnitine seems to work for reducing weight and burning fat, especially in overweight folks. But the results might not be huge. According to one review, L-carnitine only led to a modest drop of about 3 to 4 pounds in body weight and body fat. It seems to work better for those who are obese rather than those who only need to lose a few pounds.

L Theanine 100 mg

L theanine is an amino acid found naturally in mushrooms and green tea and is well known to have a stress-reducing effect. Studies have revealed L theanine can reduce blood pressure.  Doses of 200 to 400 mg have been used for reducing stress and anxiety. At the same time, theanine appears to improve mental alertness too. Compared to those taking a placebo, 100 mg of L-theanine has also been shown to improve memory.

Java Burn Weight Loss Evidence

The official website for the supplement states that JavaBurn “when combined with coffee, is scientifically proven to increase both the speed and efficiency of metabolism to deliver unparalleled fat-burning results.” But is there scientific research on JavaBurn? If it's out there, it can't be located.

There is no mention of clinical studies on the official JavaBurn website. The website DOES list several clinical investigations but none of them involve the JavaBurn supplement. Rather many of the clinical studies refer to the JavaBurns ingredients.

To be fair, a lack of evidence does not mean it doesn't work. Fortunately, there is research on the ingredients in JavaBurn. If the supplement really works, it may be because of these 4 ingredients:

It is tasteless, which means JavaBurn won't interfere with the taste of the morning cup of coffee you mix it with.

How Much Caffeine Does JavaBurn Contain?

Caffeine is not listed among the ingredients.  While the Supplement Facts label does list coffee bean extract, the company does not specify which extract of coffee they are using. Is the coffee extract chlorogenic acid? Is it caffeine or something else? This is a problem the company needs to answer for customers.

Are There Any FDA or FTC Red Flags?

No problems were found to exist between the JavaBurn company and the Food and Drug Administration or Federal Trade Commission. No warning letters were located. Likewise, no lawsuits or class actions were discovered either. This is good as it may indicate that the company has created a good product and complies with federal guidelines.

How Long Does Java Burn Take To Work?

There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question. The company suggests giving it 90 to 180 days to see optimal results.  While it's true that few natural solutions to weight loss work overnight, keep in mind that the supplement comes with a 60-day money-back guarantee.

Is Java Burn Made in America?

The company tells us that JavaBurn coffee is manufactured in America. This is good; however, that may not be the same thing as ‘made in America.” According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), companies are allowed to say their products are made in the USA if the product is “all or virtually all” made in the U.S. For JavaBurn, it would mean the ingredients and packaging must come from America. When contacted, the company stated that the ingredients in JavaBurn are sourced from the US and internationally. Factor this into your buying decision if it matters to you.

Java Burn Safety Instructions, Side Effects, Contraindications, and Possible Drug Interactions

There haven't been any reported negative reactions to using JavaBurn. While that's reassuring, it's important to know that while the ingredients have been studied, the supplement itself hasn't been clinically tested. The company claims that there haven't been any side effects reported.

Here are some tips to lower the chance of experiencing any harmful reactions if you decide to try this coffee metabolism enhancer:

  1. Start with a smaller amount than recommended during the first week.
  2. Avoid taking JavaBurn close to bedtime.
  3. Some ingredients might thin your blood. If you're taking warfarin or other blood-thinning medications or supplements, talk to your doctor.
  4. Stop using JavaBurn and other dietary supplements at least 2 weeks before surgery unless your doctor advises otherwise.
  5. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, don't use JavaBurn.
  6. Consult your doctor if you have any medical conditions or health concerns.
  7. This supplement isn't meant for children, who typically already have a high metabolic rate.

Java Burn vs. Tea Burn – What's Better?

Tea Burn is the sister supplement manufactured by Adonis Lifestyles LLC. As the name suggests, Tea Burn is to be added to your favorite blend of tea or other hot or cold beverages. While much interest exists in Tea Burn, scientific proof for its effectiveness could not be found. So far there doesn't appear to be any clinical proof revealing which is the superior sliming supplement either. Both TeaBurn and JavaBurn share similar ingredients, such as l carnitine, green tea, green coffee bean extract, and l theanine, which tell us that they may provide similar weight loss results and customer satisfaction.

Tea is right up there with coffee in terms of its popularity so it makes sense the company would manufacture a supplement for just tea drinkers who do not prefer the taste of coffee.

Counterfeit Java Burn Supplements (Legit or Fake?)

Be careful with any review that sends you to a website other than the official company, which this reporter has investigated and found to be the only legitimate company website on the web. Also, scrutinize the ingredients if you purchase elsewhere. If the ingredients do not match what you see here, it is a fake knockoff supplement. Scams do indeed exist for any popular weight reduction supplement. For example, JavaBurn does not contain ketogenic ingredients such as beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB), medium-chain triglycerides (MCT oil), or fiber ingredients like chitosan, inulin, or conjugated linoleic acid (CLA).

Also, be leery of claims that sound too good to be true, such as the ability to lose lots of body weight in a short time. Gaining weight did not happen overnight, and it won't be lost overnight, either.

JavaBurn Coffee Pros & Cons

As for the strengths and weaknesses of the supplement, these are my opinions. Yours may be different.

Is Java Burn Worth It?

While I'm sure there are many positive customer testimonials, one question is whether JavaBurn is just an expensive green tea supplement or if something is going on. While I do think it can boost in metabolic rate, I'm not yet convinced it helps people lose weight. If you decide to try Java Burn, remember that it may take more than a month to see if its works.
