Can medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) help Alzheimer's disease? Some research says it might. Some consider medical researchers to consider Alzheimer's disease to be a form of diabetes (type 3 diabetes). Evidence suggests the disease may be caused by insulin resistance in the brain. If brain cells can't use glucose, might giving them another fuel source – ketones, help brain cells work better – and improve memory in the process? Some research says yes.
